Great venue, friendly staff and brilliant production. The accessible toilet was too small to be wheelchair accessible but a member of staff said they would relay this information to a superior. I hope the facilities are improved and doors are widened because that is the only downside to a wonderful theatre.

Took my daughter to see The Wizard of Oz and she fell in love with the whole experience. She's 5 year old and was impressed firstly with the building and decor then blown away by the production. It's a beautiful venue and we can't wait to go again

The architecture here is stunning, and I love the layout. It's ideally situated in the town centre, so it's just a hop on and off a Metro or bus. Great range of shows. Always love visiting this venue.

And old but lovley theatre that puts on lots of great shows. A decent selection of drinks and snacks (although the sweet stand didn't take card), clean toilets and relatively comfy seats. I've never sat in the box, but I saw those that did had to lean over to see everything happening on stage. I really enjoyed my visit here though, definitely would go again

Class.

This is an amazing building full of history (and it's share of ghosts so they say). Having watched my brother perform here many years ago, it holds special memories for me. The domed roof and walls are stunning with its gold and deep red decor. I recently watched The Jersey Boys here, and enjoyed it so much that I went straight back into the box office after the show finished and booked up again to watch it the next week! So much history here but please remember that it is a very old building and so hasn't got the disabled facilities of newer buildings. I did once watch a show from up in The Gods and hobbled up the many narrow stairs on crutches, but wouldn't recommend doing that. Definitely a lovely place to go for the history or a family day out or evening with friends. You can pre order drinks for the interval too as its much easier than fighting your way to the bar.

Disappointed at the panto beauty and the beast this year. Was more the Danny Adams show than a panto and I really missed not having the spectacular stunt riders or acrobats of previous years. Although ticket prices did not reflect the obvious savings they must have made by not having to pay for those guest acts ....

The Theatre Royal is a great place to go if you would like to see live action shows and pantomimes. They have child friendly shows and shows for older and more mature audiences. With 15 minute intervals it's great to be able to stretch your legs and get some sweets or even a tub of ice cream. It is a great place to go with your family or friends, you may even enjoy going on your own, definitely worth going and/or going again.

The building it's self is very old but is still a stable structure and great for taking photos outside with its old fashioned pillars and its triangular roof above the pillars.

If you have never been and see a show you would enjoy, I advise you to go and see it, it is amazing!!!

Beautiful building in a beautiful city. Access is easy although parking can be dreadful. The shows are good and pantomime is excellent. Bar is stocked adequately and manned sufficiently during intervals etc. The prices can be high as expected but worth it. Having used the venue a multitude of times over the year I can say we will be back soon. Beware that the street parking areas can be unclear and the cities taxis chronic driving makes access unbearable at times. It won't spoil your night however.
