My favorite zoo! It s enormous so be prepared to walk all day. All the exhibits are big and the animals have always been out when we go. The Birds of Prey show was so much fun!

Great zoo. Did a good job to make everything covid safe and still be able to see the animals.
The zoo -- usually always a good outing for the family.
Animals looked much healthier than at other zoos. It's laid out super well for walking as well.
Surprisingly large, modern and well kept zoo. The animals all look healthy and well taken care of. A great place to spend a few hours. Lots of kids activities, too.
Sir Isaac Newton stated: Nature is just fine with the transmutation of light into bodies and bodies back into light. Albert Einstein stated: All matter is a local manifestation of energy that is light. In layman's terms that would be a spark of life transmuting or manifesting into a 666 biological carbon vessel. Then when that carbon vessel expires and returns to dust the spark of life it contained would return to turn the light from which it came. #physics
Very friendly and helpful zoo keepers. Animals seems to be well loved.
Doing an awesome job with social distancing and it wears my niece out everytime we go! Her favorite exhibit is the penguins among many others!
Probably the best zoo I have been to in the country. Great variety of animals, some very unique, and a ton of open aviaries. Not a concrete jungle they leave as much natural surroundings as possible.
Beautiful Zoo in Seattle. We'll maintained. The Will Lanterns Exhibit was spectacular.
Awesome place to hang out. A couple animals that impressed me are rhinos, tapirs, great grey owl and python. Trying to see snow leopard, bear and tiger, but they are no where to be found :(
Really a good place for kids to enjoy and kids playing area is really nice.
I have gone to this zoo for the past 15 years and it is always good to see things change but cheap the same familiar shape. They have many options in terms of animals to see and the prices are alright. I think the condition of the animals could be better including the penguins didnt seem to be too healthy but I believe they could work on it. It is always fun to see exotic animals and special guest there. Overall a decent place to takes kids or friends for the day.
Went to see the wild lights, so cool! If you missed them this year, it is definitely worth going to see next year.
There are multiple gates you can enter from so better remember which one. The zoo was fantastic, super big, loved every bit of it. Has lots of shade along the route. Decent selection of food to choose from. No line up to get in. Unfortunately it is pay parking.
Bring your family, Willawong station is a blast, bring dollars /cash for food to feed birds or penguins or buy punch cards at entry gate with credit card.
This zoo is definitely the best in the Pacific northwest. It has a great variety of animals and you can even feed the penguins! There are lots of places to picnic and you can bring in your own food which is great for families. It's very wheelchair/stroller/wagon friendly with wide, smooth paths to take you everywhere. The natural playground is awesome and the kids love it, great for tag and hide and seek. It's really reasonably priced too.
Tucked away in Seattle, very well kept. Pleasant 2 to 3 hours.
Good for kids. Definitely see the penguins and the primates.
A great zoo. We went just before a zoo concert and found the rest of the areas almost empty.
Always a good place to take your friends and family. The food and drinks are a bit pricey for what you get. The food is so unimpressive.
Beautiful clean zoo with a variety of animals, plenty of shade
Had a blast, what a nice Zoo. I remember as a young boy walking through the Zoo when it was free. Lived down on 3rd ave as a boy.
It was different wearing a mask with the family and walking around to see the animals but couldn't go inside and see the turtles and a few other animals but hey we got to see other animals that was out and enjoying the sunshine
I've been a fan of The Woodland Park Zoo since I was just a kid now still 30+ years later I love to bring my son. Its amazing how no matter your age seeing all the animals makes you feel like a kid again.
Had an amazing trip today for my birthday with the family! It was Persephone's first time and she loved it. Alot of the animals were being very photogenic today so I got some good shots!
LoNg wait for the first good weather of the season but daughter had a blast and the zoo was wonderful and easy to get to. Love all the green and life in the middle of the city.
Beautiful and fun interactive zoo.
We had a great time exploring the zoo and seeing as many animals as we could.
Even in a little Seattle drizzle it was still fun.
The food at the cafe was mostly decent, but can get pricey with a big party. Maybe pack something for a picnic for more healthy option.
I reccomend a day at the zoo to anyone, not just kids.
Support conservation, enjoy the animals
A great zoo! Large, with a great variety of animals. Lots of educational material and well designed enclosures that allow you to see the animals multiple ways.
It was fun. We went in April and a few exhibits were still closed for the winter which was a bummer
I loved taking my 1 year old for his birthday! He loved it. There was open space for him to walk around. Also adequate space to sit down for lunch.
It's not too big that it becomes exhausting to see with the kids. We are members so we you a lot and basically wander around and somehow manage to see different things every time. The butterfly pavilion in the spring and summer is a must say, it's absolutely lovely. The staff are knowledgable and helpful. There is also a historic hand painted carousel that is lots of fun to see and ride
Animals seem well cared for and the zoo is clean. Not many people on the last day in February. We will go again. Can't believe they charge so much for parking (close to $10 in 2020), but I guess that is why tickets are only $15.50.
Wonderful. Go during the week, small crowds. More interesting time with the animals
Great zoo experience. Its currently one way through the park, you do miss some of the indoor stuff since they have to ensure social distance but generally we saw everything and the staff and other patrons were all very polite
Great zoo! Visited many times with the ladt being a Veterans appreciation night. Thank you so much for that!! The grizzly bears, elk, wolves and otters were especially active on our last visit which was awesome to see!
This zoo is my favorite in Washington. I am a person who loves animals and curious of the animals. Therefore, I loved to visit this place and meet different kind of animals. In the zoo, there is place to rest like a cafe, so do not need to worry about being exhausted. I visit this place by purchasing all-in-one ticket (space needle, garden, zoo) and I think this was a great choice to save a bit money. If you love animals, I prefer you to visit.
This place is magical and wonderful just like it was when I was a child the nostalgia alone is worth the trip my daughter loved him and so did we
Always a great place to come with the kiddo. Or by yourself to enjoy a beautiful day, great for taking pictures. Some days some of the animals are really photogenic
great zoo! it is a fun place to visit either by yourself or family/friends
One of the best zoos I've ever been at. Interesting zoo grounds, good variety of animals, bigger enclosures. Several opportunities to get close to animals.
Always a joy to go to. Animals seem well taken care of, grounds are clean, volunteers are super knowledgeable and helpful.
I have been here multiple times with my daughter, my nieces and even parents and grandparents. I have not had one bad experience yet. Even with how popular and packed the zoo is there is always something to do and a spot to see each animal. They also host loads of events that are great for the family.
A decent little zoo, used to be better before the elephants were removed. The zoo is trying to put more attractions in the place of the elephants.
Been here a few times and have nothing but good memories. Definitely a place to go and check out. Lots of exhibits to see and lots of photo opportunities. Parking isn't the greatest and they do charge for it but worth it.
Worth me walking in cold weather. Super friendly staff and the animals did not look depress. If I live here I would had check out zoo lights. Oh and they have a RED PANDA name Carson, he is on Instagram.
Impressive zoo, sometimes worth looping back to catch animals who were resting
Decent zoo, my son loved the place and colorful birds and farm animals. Place is well maintained and perfect spot for kids day out. They offer yearly membership.
Nothing out of the ordinary for anyone visiting from outside Seattle.
All the animals were awake. The lions were planning. It was a great visit.
I really like this zoo but a little upset there's no elephants but I read about why they were removed and it's probably better. Still a nice place to take the kids
Love the zoo! It's a great family outing and I'm appreciative of the safety precautions that they're taking: timed entry, one way traffic, limiting number of visitors at certain exhibits. Sure, you might not get to see everything every time since you have to keep moving but that's the beauty of nature. Plus, nothing stops you from following the one way path again!
I'm glad they now have a gluten free option in the restaurant.
Very poor experience.
Saturday afternoon. Almost no animals. The exhibitions need a lot of work to expose the animals. Sad
Food was tasteless and expensive.
Portland zoo is way better. Sorry guys. Hopefully they can improve.
Wonderful place to hangout with family and kids! Staffs are friendly and the animals are amazing! Children will definitely love the animals!
It's just plain incredible.
Affordable member rates, tons of great viewing for all the exhibits, helpful tips and interesting info for all the animals, helpful and friendly staff, and an exciting variety of animals. Worth it even to come alone for a few hours.
Nice place for kids I visit in summer afternoon most animals are having a nap
Nice zoo to walk around in. The employees are all nice if you have questions. We got to see the ring tailed lemurs get fed! There is usually street parking close by if you don't want to pay to park in the zoo lots
One of the best Zoos out there. On par with San Diego zoo. Great experience for all.
Very disappointing save your money good outing for walking around but most of main attractions are closed. Discount pricing would be in order but not full price our visit cost $70 including one senior and 2 adults way too expensive for what we were able to see about one third of the zoo.
It's a cute zoo nice place to take kids a lot of things for families to do
It was a great day they did a good job keeping everyone separate and keep the flow of traffic. It was a great day with our Daughter and Grandson
Huge zoo, very impressed with the natural habitats for all the animals. Lots of shade and great spots for picnicking or just to relax. The old carousel is a great nostalgic touch.
The only complaint I have is that there isn't enough parking!
Very good, only thing is a lot of toddlers who obviously don't have to wear masks
Took my kids and we enjoyed the entire day! I have an 8 year old who was entertained and my toddler so enthralled by the animals we had a hard time leaving the park! Definitely recommend. Parking was kind of weird, but understandable considering location and does not deter me from giving it a 5 star review!
The atmosphere and grounds are very pretty but we barely saw any main animals. Some were still being set up and areas under construction but if I knew I wouldn't be able to see the snow leopard, rhinos, bear, etc. so that I didn't have to pay $22 a person to walk around a pretty park.
Love taking my daughter here! Did face painting (for her) and henna tattoo (for me).
We love this Zoo! Tons of really interesting animals to see - favorites are the bears and wolves! We ended up switching to an annual membership and visit every 2-3 weeks on the weekends. The walk is so lovely, relaxing and peaceful.
It is a Great place to see animals. Nice staff here too.
Great zoo. Petting zoo is lovely for children. Playgrounds are great for kids. Food is decent. Expect to do alot of walking.
Zoos get a bad rap sometimes but I feel that Woodland Park Zoo does its best to be stewards of wildlife and the environment. Even in the midst of a pandemic they haven't lost sight of their goals and continue to provide the best service they can under the circumstances. Currently a lot of exhibits or sections are closed off, and dont go unless you have at least an hour to spend preferably an hour and a half due to one way paths limiting route options.
The exhibits were put together very well! The animals seem to be well looked after. The aviaries were so wonderful. Many birds were allowed to roam in the area. There were only a couple of exhibits that didn't have animals.
I love the woodland park zoo! I've been going here since I was a young kid, and I love this place. Their efforts towards conservation are as remarkable as the impressive lengths they try to go to to make sure the animals are comfortable and happy.
Great place to spend half a day. Zoo is always fun. Clean, lots of animals in extensive enclosures which are designed to closely reflect their natural habitat. The zoo is regularly upgrading exhibits and bringing in new animals, and there are always a few babies around. Food is excellent, though expensive, and staff is friendly.
They are adding more exhibits so we see something different each time we go. World Class Zoo.
Most of the big animals we want to see are not there or asleep from afar..not much going on at the time we went there..8.6.19
Honestly the best Zoo I've been to. From cali to Washington I like this one. A lot of animals, events, food and activities. Also a lot of restrooms lol. Great for the family
Had a great time. Was worth the trip from Vancouver BC
Fun and well-organized zoo. Great maps and layout. Several areas where activity is non-existent due to missing attractions while we were there.
Super helpful and friendly volunteers and staff. Good signage. Interesting enclosures.
Woodland park zoo is an amazing place, so many animals too see and they are always having small events going on or shows. The staff is really friendly and you can tell the animals are well taken care of. We also used woodland park zoo as our wedding spot and have been taking our son here quite a bit recently. Worth every penny.
Very dissatisfied. Most of the animals were not out. The park employees weren't informed about show functions and we missed a show. No signs for exits. Got lost. Would not go back.
Lots of fun. Cant wait to go again. Every time is a new experience.
Great walking park. Kids loved seeing the animals. The zoo has made a great effort to have a jungle, natural look, and the African village was cool to see too. Good way to spend the day.
It's was beautiful fun place to go with family, specially lots of fun for kids...can't wait to go again
Nice seeing the animals but alot of exhibitions were close due to the covid 19 so couldn't really enjoy all it offers.
This is one of the best zoos in the world where, unfortunately, won't see any animals. Thankfully some exhibits have secret private areas where you can see some animals. Maybe I was unlucky, but maybe this zoo is designed perfectly for the privacy of the animals.
Closed down water fountains and fill areas for water bottles, so your only option for water is $5 a water can. 50 percent or more of the zoo is shut down at full cost, if you're visiting, save your money for next time when covid has less control and the zoo gets more affordable water if they're going to shut down water sources to fill up your water containers, especially on hot days when kids and everybody's walking all around. Not worth it right now
It really is a great zoo. My only complaint is that it is really expensive to visit. It's not a very affordable destination for a family with four kids. But otherwise we really loved seeing the animals and appreciate how much there is to see. We were tired and content with all we had seen after walking around the whole zoo.
The Woodland Park Zoo is a popular destination for animal lovers and families in Seattle, Washington. With its commitment to conservation and education, the Woodland Park Zoo offers visitors a unique opportunity to learn about wildlife while enjoying a fun day out.
One of the things that sets the Woodland Park Zoo apart from other zoos is its focus on animal welfare. The zoo's staff works tirelessly to ensure that all of its animals are healthy and happy. This includes providing them with spacious habitats that mimic their natural environments as closely as possible. For example, the zoo's African Savanna exhibit features wide-open spaces where giraffes can roam freely alongside zebras and ostriches.

Of course, no trip to the Woodland Park Zoo would be complete without seeing some of its most famous residents up close! From majestic lions to playful otters, there's something for everyone at this amazing attraction. Be sure not to miss highlights like:
- The Tropical Rain Forest exhibit: This immersive exhibit takes you deep into a lush rainforest environment filled with exotic birds, monkeys, sloths and more.
- Zoomazium: Designed especially for kids aged 8 years old or younger this indoor play space encourages children’s curiosity through imaginative play.
- Northern Trail: Here you will find grizzly bears playing together or swimming in their pool; river otters frolicking; snowy owls perched on branches; Steller’s sea eagles soaring overhead; harbor seals sunning themselves on rocks.
- African Savanna: A large open area where giraffes roam free alongside zebras & ostriches
Overall if you're looking for an unforgettable day out that combines fun with education then look no further than Seattle's own Woodland Park Zoo!
