Fab hotel, new, clean, competent staff, excellent location, reasonable in price (but not cheap), great rooms, great views, very close and convenient transportation links (including O'Hare airport), a few minutes walk from Magnificent Mile and the Seafront. Highly recommended!

I work as an event planner in the Chicago area. I can honestly say that the it is a pleasure to work with. The staff of phenomenal, the food is excellent, and their meeting space is impressive. They also offer a screen room, which seats about 45 with a movie screen that can be rented for a f&b minimum. They also have access to many sporting events that can be shown privately for an exclusive vip feel. They are reasonable in pricing for a downtown hotel, they have one of the best rooftop bars in the city, and they have some lovely rooms! Can't say enough about how easy it is to work with theWit on so many levels. I highly recommend them for your next meeting.

Clean, great location, and amazing service. Hilton diamond members would be advised that there is no executive lounge and for those that have stayed at the Doubletree Union Station in St Louis - this is very comparable.

Very satisfying stay at this downtown hotel, modern hotel, all amenities were perfect. Arrived on a cold rainy day and was greeted with a warm cookie which made cold disappear. Breakfast was good in the downstairs restaurant, friend visited the roof top bar and said is was a good fun place to hang out, unfortunately my schedule didn't allow me to tag along. Would stay here again if need to visit again for work of pleasure.

Comfortable and clean room. Great quality bedding, shower had good water pressure and height adjustability, room temp was easily controlled, I wasn't kept up by any noises. My only complaint is that the decor in the entry level room was not particularly modern/trendy, as the photos make it seem.

Visited The Wit rooftop bar on a weekend trip to Chicago. The drinks were perfect and the ambiance was very upbeat. It was a Saturday night so there was a DJ. The location is in an upscale part of town near the riverfront. It was within walking distance to other rooftop bars and nightlife. I was dressed casually, so even though their website states strict dress code enforced...it was not. However, my friend and I were the exception because everyone else met the dress code requirements. $10.00 cover charge for ladies. It was enjoyable.

This is our third stay at the Wit and wanted to rave for a minute about our experiences. Every time we come, we are greeted as we arrive. We love the designs of the rooms and they make a great place to eat a warm cookie. Our room tonight has a great view, but the views have been great from every room where we have stayed. There is a storm rolling in and the lightning is putting on quite a show. We are back today because of Christian and Alex during our previous stay. These two guys went above and beyond to help us out. We want to send them, in particular, a big thank you! We were so happy to see Christian today when we arrived. When we come to Chicago, we stay at the Wit!

The roof at the Wit has excellent views, but be prepared to spend $10-15 per drink. This is more of a club than a bar. DJ was pretty good well. Almost every seating space is reserved and the table price has a per person minimum. Cover starts at 9 and is $20 for men, $10 for women. It's probably nice to come here, but not on a weekend night.

We love staying at the wit! We've booked the paramount suite a few times now and each stay was wonderful. The staff is friendly and always took care of us. We also had a couples massage at their spa and we enjoyed it so much! Looking forward to our next stay

I m still looking for the fine print that stated I would need to leave a deposit of $75 for incidentals that I had no intention of using . I pre-paid for a package for the room and also $65 valet parking. So what else were you trying to take me for?! At any rate, I couldn t stay and my special night in Chicago that I had planned for months was ruined over some fine print that I ve yet to see and you ve yet to show me. I m just disgusted with your Hotel and at this rate you couldn t pay me to Stay there. Customer service sucks. You sure don t go out of your way to help someone who is good for the bill minus the stupid incidentals that I didn t ask for and didn t want and was forced into.
Bad business model by friends .

5 stars for the great downtown location, our gorgeous room that overlooked the river and really nice staff. We got a good price on the 1BR suite with soaking tub (tubs aren't jetted fyi) and had a very comfortable stay. The room was clean and we liked the decor. Amenities need improvement though, and I would have given 4 stars because of that if the room hadn't been so great...expected complimentary water, internet and robes. Also expected more than 1 caffeinated coffee packet, and something to stir coffee with besides my finger. The bar was great, super cozy fireplace and good wait staff. Loved the liquid lunch cocktail. Food was ok, A for effort though and fairly priced. Wish they served breakfast past noon. Would stay again.

We really enjoyed our 2 nights here. Staff were friendly, the room was excellent. When compared with the Westin we would choose the theWit Chicago - a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel. Only downside is the epic valet costs for LA ($48 per night). Guys please consider offering a package for guests.

I can only comment on the Wit's Rooftop bar, as I have not stayed at the hotel. My firm has had a couple of birthday parties there, of which we thought the place was nothing to be blown away by. If you have been at other rooftop bars in the city, you will be disappointed at the Rooftop bar at the Wit, as the 360 view of the Chicago skyline is 70% blocked or inaccessible. The mixed drinks were standard, with a good selection of top shelf items, but overall you end up paying to be there. Decent place, but relative to other options, not worth the trouble of making the line.

We were expecting to have a great time here, but... I called and booked a beautiful room with spa tub and a view to spend our special night as a husband and wife. When we got to the room we realized it s a simple king room with shower, nothing like one I booked previously and we had to stay there for the same price as for a king one with a spa. When we asked why it so, they didn t know the reason, kept saying that maybe the person with whom I booked a room made a mistake and now they don t have any rooms available that we were hoping to stay in! We were really upset because it was our wedding day, we came out of Chicago and just wanted to spend a wonderful time here. I would give 1 star, but the lady at the front desk was really nice to us and tried to make it better and gave us discounts , but nothing can replace our big expectations about this night. Unfortunately, not coming back.

Horrible experience. Really rude staff and management who jumped to conclusions based upon looks and lied about noise level--no one was even in the room. It was a very depressing experience and I could not wait to get out of there. I moved to a better hotel. They claim to chuckle at snobbery. Do yourself a favor and stay any place else.

Newly remodeled rooms are great. I brought my associated out of town and book them to the Wit Chicago. The convenience of the location and parking here is great. They asked me to always book them here in a future visits. Thanks to the management for accommodating rooms earlier.

Great hotel. You cannot beat proximity to downtown attractions and the train, especially for the price. The staff here were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and more than accommodation. I booked through a 3rd party website, and the website screwed up my reservation, but the gentleman at the front desk was nice enough to let me check in at 4 AM the morning of my reservation. Will definitely be staying here again.

I went to the ROOF on theWit party on Sundays and they do not do it anymore. A very friendly waiter who answered us told us that they are considering whether to do it again or not, but at the moment it is a NO. Pity.

Love the location and hotel style. Staff are super nice and the rooms and public areas are clean. Check in cookies are fantastic! As was all the food brought in for our meetings. Also thought the chirping birds and cricket w hoot owl hall sounds were a nice touch. Only three things I noticed are the room toilet was loose, the USB charger in our room didn t work and the electrical outlets in the meeting table didn t seem to work. First world problems I guess ;)

Good views but awful customer service....staff wasn t friendly at all...2 o clock in afternoon security came banging on door because of laughter saying it was a call of a domestic dispute....two thumbs all the way down...wouldn t recommend anyone going here if you want to walk on egg shells

Went to the roof which is the club/bar on the top floor. It is a pretty nice venue with good views of the city but the drinks are expensive even for a beer at $10. I went early before cover was charged and as nice as it was wouldn't go back unless for a special occasion or last stop of my night.

We were at the Wit ROOF for an event. The view is spectacular, the food is very good and the drinks were plentiful. The service was a little slow but I can't say this is the normal level of service because it was a private closed event.

Great, affordable price point with a classy and modern look. The hallways literally have birds singing and they offer free cookies every day just for staying there. Rooftop bar has an amazing view, but I heard it is expensive.

Had drinks at 2:05pm at Roof. Place opens at 2pm. At this time, they were out of one of their signature drinks. Half the place was closed off. I get this place is popular in the evening but no need to ask or even make a reservation on a Wednesday at 2pm.

Not exactly what I expected of a higher end hotel. Staff was rude, but it's Chicago so no other expectations there. Way over priced. Not worth the 400 bucks for the stay with no amenities. Plus an additional 72 bucks a day for parking. I won't stay again.

Classy place with a really nice rooftop bar. The room was quite nice. I wish the parking wasn't so expensive. I parked in a ramp 2 blocks away for $20 rather than the $70 they want for valet. When I come back to Chicago I'll leave the car at home.

I took my wife out for her birthday and we had a great time. Everything was very convenient from all of the shops on State to a quick walk over the river to River North. As well as the amenities at The Wit.

It's 2014, I expect in room WiFi. The crap they offer 'free' is unworkable, or pay just $14.95 for 3MBs of download... Seriously WTF? Shall I pay extra for a cup of hot water to bathe in? Stay away.

I give my stay at the wit a 4. The service was great, but there was a spot of wet carpet in my jr. suite....yikes. I did enjoy the warm cookies on check in and out. They do have a spa thats small but they will come to your room to do More

This is second time I've stayed at thewit DoubleTree. The first time, I thought, was great but that was over a year ago. However, this second time, I think the quality of service went down a tad. The staff at the lobby were amazing. They were very helpful and nice. The room was amazing and the spa was worth every dollar. However, the roof was a disappointment. Upon getting up there, it felt like so much ado for nothing(and it was a Saturday night). We also ordered what we thought was a pizza and we got something absolutely inedible ($30 + a bogus $7 fee even though it was a pick up). Bottom line if hungry, go get yourself something else outside the hotel. Given the time, we resorted to Papa John's. Lastly, please know that even as a diamond/gold member, breakfast isn't free. I didn't get much of an explanation as to why but I was already to tired to argue.
