Great hotel and location. The restaurant has excellent food. Rooms are nice and they have coffee in the room

What a fun hotel! It had everything I needed and the staff were always pleasant and considerate. We were celebrating this adorable young lady and the hotel made sure she felt welcome.

Affordable 4-star property in a prime location. Right by the Chicago Theater, the L, 2 Starbucks, 2 Dunkins, and Gene Siskel's. Speaking of...TheWIT gets from me.

We used the hotel's conference rooms. In particular we used the screen room was gorgeous with comfortable couches and mini tables for drinks, phones and other things. We had a bartender who made tasty mimosas for us. All the A/V equipment worked well and we didn't seem to have any problems. After the meeting we went to the Wit's rooftop bar/rooftop restaurant. There were some beautiful views. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was great. Very Mediterranean. However I have some doubts about the freshness of the Seafood. All in all it's a great hotel providing a great value. We'll definitely be back for more events.

We paid to valet park there and without telling us they authorized our card for several additional days. At almost $70 a night this was no small amount. Because they charged the over authorization to our debit card the card locked and was useless for the rest of the weekend.

We were staying on the 25th floor and there was a part on the 27th. The music was so loud we could hear it through the floor. Thankfully they shut the party down at 2am.

Regarding wifi, I'm staying here a Honors Member so I qualify for free wifi. Ironically, they forgot to give me the wifi pass code, but they were very happy to offer the $14.95 service.

It is a great location for the theater's, modern rooms, very clean too. No pool, but there are a couple great restaurants and a rooftop club attached. Definitely will check it out again.

Customer service, restaurant for breakfast, cookies, King Suite...all super nice!!! Curb side is tight, but they get it done! 2nd stay, definitely coming back!!!

My husband and I stayed here the night of our one year wedding anniversary. Love the hotel, as this is where we actually got married and had our reception! Only bummer of this particular stay was that we mentioned the reason for our stay and that it was our wedding venue and... Nothing. :/ I figured maybe they would have done something special, like upgrade our room, or send champagne. Not the end of the world, and we still enjoyed our stay nonetheless. My only other nit - I payed for a spa suite and there weren't any bath robes!

Staff was extremely friendly. Hotel clean. Some amenities are very expensive (bottle water is $10, valet parking is $65 per day?.

This place is amazing the staff has been great. They text you and ask how your stay is going. The bars are nice and the views are amazing. My only qualm is if you decided to rent a car and drive, there's no onsite parking and the closest garage is not covered was my understanding from the front desk.

This stunning hotel and exemplary service were one of the highlights of our trip. We did not expect this accommodation. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm cup of tea, a small bouquet of flowers with our room key until we had to leave the following day. I could say that this is the only hotel that could almost provide you everything. The attention to detail was immaculate!

Great customer service, very chic and close to theater district

We were greeted upon entry. Although we arrived early they were happy to accommodate us by allowing us to check in before the allotted time. We were placed on the 18 floor where we were able to see the river. Upon entering our room the staff immediately checked in to make sure we were satisfied with our accommodation. They were knowledgeable about the city and never failed to assist us in getting to our next destination. I loved my stay and can't wait to go back.

Staying at this boutique hotel theWit- A DoubleTree by Hilton, 201 N State St, Chicago, IL 60601 is always a treat. The service that is provided is top notch along with the wonderful food. The hotel rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious as well as the meeting rooms of the hotel. There's a cool roof top bar and club that is fun for people watching or dancing and enjoying drinks with friends.

This hotel doesn't deserve a star. I had the most horrible experience dealing with this hotel. I never got a chance to stay although I have an email receipt from them stating I hope you enjoyed your stay after they took money off my credit card for a booking a month away and refuse to return my money even after I cancelled the reservation stating it was non refundable. When I booked the room they stated the only needed a card number to hold the reservation and that I wouldn't have to pay until I arrived for check in. This is fraud. They have my money for a full night stay that was suppose to happen in june and they will still be taking someone else money for the same room. I don't want anyone else to go through the same thing. Stay far away from this hotel if you dont want to go through a world of trouble just for a night downtown..The staff is also rude and sarcastic after they have ripped you off.

The drinks were great, but I did feel like I was treated poorly based on how I was dressed. Our table was directly in the sun, and our waitress definitely did not want us. It was prompt service, and they accommodated us well, but I won't be returning

Awesome rooftop bar with an amazing atmosphere. The service is always great and the drinks are amazing. Views for days if you can get a window seat.

Excellent staff and breakfast buffet! Rooms were very comfortable and clean! Would come back again! We're able to buy wine an liquor at the small hotel store! Really nice outdoor patio with fire pits! Rooms layout was really comfortable. Bathroom had a barn style door giving the room character. Large walkin closet!

Room was clean very close to the river walk and millennium Park. Great service at restaurant and bar. And easy valet parking.

This hotel is mostly about location. Otherwise there are others that are better. The doormen were especially nice and thorough.

It was a nice place, pretty fancy but not too pricey.

My husband and I stayed here for a relaxing night away. We ate at the State and Lake tavern and the food was amazing. Very pleased with the stay and we will definitely be coming back.

This hotel has a good public transport network because near CTA red line and blue line. It's very easy to take CTA or bus to every famous scenes.
Wifi is free.
And it is near famous Chicago theatre!!

Surprisingly good conference facilities, and a movie theater on the 4th floor.

The Wit downtown Chicago was so much fun. Dj was awesome and what a great atmosphere!

It was a very pleasant experience. The rooms were very nice and clean. The business center had very fast Internet and was very useful. The hotel also had a great location!

Wow. Terrible.
Top floor bar is not sound-proof to rooms below. Ambient rooster crows played over hall speakers can be heard in the room starting at dawn. The air is thick with some type of perfume. General service problems included arriving to find reservation had been cancelled (by their system somehow)

This is truly a phenomenal hotel! We were impressed with the hospitality, amenities and location from the moment we arrived. The front desk graciously allowed us to check in early as we were switching hotels with no hassle (plus that amazing doubletree cookie!). We were amazed at how close we were to the river, millennium park and even the Chicago theater (could literally see the sign from the window as it is about fifty yards away)!

The room was exactly as promised, even better actually! The photos on the website do not do the rooms or the views justice (hint hint marketing team! You guys have an awesome hotel, flaunt it and upgrade the website with better photos!). The view from every window was astonishing and there are few things better than enjoying a hot bubble bath with a stunning city view overlooking millennium park.

The food at the restaurant was delicious (peanut butter and jelly sandwich with duck?! Sounds crazy but it was tasty!) and the staff was very attentive and professional.

The rooftop bar has incredible views of the city. The bar looked very stylish, although it was dead when we arrived (Monday night at midnight I didn t expect a bumping place) but I hear it is very lively on the weekends and had several locals recommend the bar as a favorite spot around town.

The only downside is the hotel is right next to the train so you can hear the squeak and roar of the train all night, I was on the 25th floor so it wasn t noticeable unless it was absolutely quiet, but I imagine it could be louder on lower floors and may disrupt some guests.

Overall the stay was Golden from start to finish. Cheap Uber rides ($7-$10 on average) to big sight seeing locations from Hancock to Navy pier, friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Chicago that wants a world class hotel experience!

Amazing location. Very attentive and helpful staff..from the valet greeters all the way through the stay. The concierge was amazing..gave great tips and discounted tickets to Skydeck.
We upgraded to.a suite for a small fee.. beautiful and spacious room and bathroom. Soaking tub was a great treat.
The only reasons I'm not giving it 5 stars is the cost to park.. $65.. which I was told is a 3rd party cost and if you aren't a Hilton Rewards member..they charge you for Wi-Fi. I thought those days were over.
However.. it was a great stay.

I really enjoyed the stay here. Staff was helpful and friendly. Rooms were stellar and the location is great for getting out and around the city.

I didn't stay at the hotel, but the staff at the restaurant is fantastic. I was there Sunday noonish, and they did everything to help some people out with their meal. I highly recommend the Chicago Tavern State/Lake!

An amazing rooftop. The drinks are a bit pricey, but you're paying for the view. A great place to go with a group of friends or even by yourself. Check it out!

Great service ! Wish the view would've been better but over all loved staying here. Went up to the roof which was amazing their service was not the best but food was decent .

Staff loved the word "No". Our room was not ready when we checked it. The bathroom door came of it's hinges. They left a letter in our room saying we would get free breakfast but wouldn't honer it because they said it was a mistake and was for someone else. We asked for a late checkout and was told no because they were fully booked but I really think they could have given us an extra hour or two. For the money we had to pay it wasn't the best I've seen.

Nice room...big enough for having guests. Windows everywhere....great light, nice views. Nicer kitchenette than my first apartment.

I visited The Roof for a work event. The food and drinks were good, but the space and the view were the best part.

No customer service at all. Walked in with no luggage to spend the night with my wife & go up to the rooftop bar. Paid $265. Dropped stuff off at the room & went up to the bar. The said we needed a wristband. Went to get that & they told us we couldn't get in because of our shoes. Went to the front desk & they had nothing to say except to you want to leave. We said yes so we could get our money back. Then they said we couldn't get our money back. When we didn't like this they called security (on an old man) and told us to get off their property. We didn't like this one bit. They told us they called the cops. I wanted to talk to the officers.....they lied cops never came. Spend your money elsewhere where they will treat you right.

Its a really nice place. Especially the state and lake tavern.
