The company I work for hosted a quarterly review here. The conference rooms were beautiful and fairly quiet and easy to find. Staff was friendly. I also stayed overnight and had a great check in experience. Totally worth the upgrade to a suite!

Worst experience. Called and reserved 5 rooms at this hotel for 1 night stay for special event which we planned out in advance. Reservation emails came in as 2 night reservation, so I called next business day again to change it. They made a mistake during reservation and were telling me they can't give me 1 night stay on 5 rooms, because of high demand that weekend they only can do 2 night minimum stays. They offered me different hotel, that's it. Will never stay there again, they screwed up our plans.

Our stay at the Wit has been amazing. When we checked in we were professionally greeted by Kyle at the front desk. He has went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The entire staff was always pleasant, and eager to answer any questions that we had about the downtown Chicago area. The view of the river from the corner suites are amazing. We can t wait to come back and visit again soon.

Wanting to make my birthday celebration special, m...

Wanting to make my birthday celebration special, my husband called The Wit to get us a room for two nights, 6-7 March. Upon checking in, the valet quickly stacked our luggage and a bellman guided us to our room. We had requested a room on a higher floor with a good view of the city or the lake. We got a view of other nearby buildings and could see a small bit of Lake Michigan if one bent over far to the left.

That night about ten, I found our coffee/teapot leaked rather than brewed hot water. The next morning I found that the lighted makeup mirror did not light up. When we went out, we stopped at the desk and asked for these items to please be fixed. Again, my husband mentioned that it was my birthday that very day. We had a busy day, and I was looking forward to a soak in the bathtub with some scented bathsalts, only to find the tub would not plug sufficiently to fill a tub for soaking. While all of these are minor in and of themselves, when they pile up one after another, it does cause the smile to falter a bit.

Overall, the hotel is located close to the theatre district, shopping, and museums. There is in/out parking either as part of a package or for a daily fee. Chicago transit is also close by, but the city is very walkable. The room was large enough and did not allow most traffic and the nearby El to be heard. Housekeeping did a fine job in freshening the room. We found the hallway birdsongs to be quite interesting, especially early the first morning when my husband called from the restroom if I also heard the roosters crowing! The other staff were similar to the staff in any mid-priced hotel in the Midwest, though given the room's cost we did expect a bit more.

Got there and was given a one-level upgrade which included a partial view of seeing lake Michigan the room was very nice and I was able to go upstairs mid-day to the bar for one drink. I then found out about the Lola pelusa after party and decided to go seeing Jonas blue the DJ. The party rock and all had a good time. Enjoy my stay

Great find in the city of Chicago and we thoroughly enjoyed our staycation there. The front desk staff was prompt in checking us in and helped us tremendously with the accidental double booking we did. The only downside would have been the noise in between rooms. I thought it might have been further insulated considering it's the Wit. The distant noise was further amplified most likely because we also we had an infant in tow with us. The noise traveled not only from our room, which was made apparent by our neighboring room banging on our walls, but the sound from the next door rooms were heard clearly. I would opt to stay here again in the future but probably not with the baby.

Very friendly staff and the rooms are very updated and comfortable. During our meeting, staff was very attentive (picking up empty/used cups and glasses after they have been used and patrons have walked away). After returning from each break- area was arranged and clean. Even the area where plates and glasses dropped off after being used were promptly attended to. Lunch staff was also very attentive and even proactively cleared dishes. The service reminds me of a stay at the Ritz Carlton but with a modern atmosphere.

Rooms very spacious and comfortable. I was able to use the digital key feature so my interaction with the staff has been minimal but the few times I interacted with them they were very pleasant and accommodating. Hotel is in a great location right in the loop area of Chicago.

Hotel staff was the rudest of any Hilton property that I have experienced in my many years of travel. The hotel rooftop club called the "Roof" was full of Russian and Korean call-girls on Friday night which the Hotel staff confirmed when I was approached many times. There are many choices in Chicago this is not one I would recommend or will be returning to.

Falsely advertised that as guest of the hotel , if you have a room you can have access to the rooftop. I called the front desk to confirm and also inquired with the staff and everyone assured me there wouldn t be an issue gaining access to the roof top. However once I tried entering the rooftop they tried charging $10 for females and $20 men makes no sense, worst hotel experience

Very nice hotel with updated rooms and amenities, and a great location (mostly). Friendly staff and a good restaurant. But it's pretty darn noisy on lower floors thanks to the el running right outside. Bring earplugs.

I rate the Sky Bar very bad. Very nice location but unsuitable staff and service. I specify that the waitress has requested and physically withheld my credit card from the moment of the order until the payment of the account.

Some dear friends Paid for our rooms as a wedding ...

Some dear friends Paid for our rooms as a wedding gift (Separate room for the groom for the night before our wedding) & a King (river view) Spa Room (corner room) for me (the bride) for Friday & us as a married couple Saturday.
What an amazing room...soaked in luxurious huge tub, extra large walk in shower was wonderful! Lovely sofa to sit on and eat our dinner (Chick-fil-A is across the street- can t beat it ) . Refrigerator in our room was great to hold leftovers & beverages.
Everything was clean and beautiful! Great Lobby to wait in if needed. Room key needed for after hours on elevator made us feel secure. We had free Wi-Fi because of friends that booked our room
Staff was amazing! Morgan, who was new, checked us in and was just delightful. Jesus, Who has been with the hotel 10 years, helped us on both arrival & departure, with all our luggage (When getting married, a two night stay requires more than you d think!)
Everyone was friendly and welcoming!
When you check in, and during your stay, the complimentary warm chocolate chip oatmeal cookies they give you are amazing!
We returned Friday evening, after being out to find two glasses of champagne in our suite With a note from Morgan and the front desk staff!

Fabulous Location makes it accessible to everything!! We live in the city and work downtown, but this gave us a chance to really enjoy it for a change! Great time at Block 37 Dine In Theater just about a block away!
Wonderful, delicious breakfast at hotel restaurant, Chicago Tavern State Lake . Whereupon being told it was our wedding weekend, the very pleasant server Jessica gave us a complementary fruit plate!
Overall, a wonderful experience and can t wait to go back for anniversary (or maybe sooner... )

I loved the location. It was close to all the places I wanted to walk to, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I've stayed there a half a dozen times, and have never been disappointed. Room view was amazing looking down State Street and seeing the Chicago marquee.

Our experience at this hotel was one of the best. The staff is over the top friendly and very helpful. Upon arrival at 8am I was expecting to have the hotel staff hold my bags until my room became available and to my surprise they were able to get me in to a room instantly. Additionally, On one of our days leaving the hotel it was raining and the valet gave me an umbrella to carry around the city so I would stay dry. Stop by to see Eric at the concierge desk to help set up any daytime excursions. He was able to get us on a boat tour at the last minute when most were already sold out. Also the rooms are cute and clean and the hotel has a lot of food options if you choose to stay in and dine. The location is perfect and there is a lot of things to do within walking distance. Lastly, the staff makes this hotel the reason to stay! In every interaction with them they have gone above and beyond to make my stay wonderful. From: a happy traveler!!

What a joke, after spending $300 in drinks they wouldnt let the rest of our party join us, we went down stairs to gather the crew and they told us that we had to go back to the end of the line, what? Our drinks are waiting up stairs, well give us your credit card and we will charge you $150 for bottle service, what??? Very rude african american ghetto door man. It was worse than the shot in Knocked up. Skip it go to Y bar, they treat you better there. Never again will I go to this place. I will not have people working a line tell me I cant go back up after I dolled out $300 in cash for drinks, You can suck it!

Elegant, modern and high tech. Everything is great about this hotel: location, facility and staff. Stop looking around and book at this hotel if you are in town.
Just be careful with the high tech mini bar that comes with sensors. Yes, read that yellow sticker carefully before you mess around :)

As someone from rural Wisconsin visiting the city to watch a performance at the Chicago Theater, theWit softened the "culture shock" with its easy to talk to employees, clean establishment, and fantastic location to the theater. Valet parking took care of the nightmare that is parking and the must see Millennial Park is only a few blocks walk away. I would not hesitate to book another stay in the future.

Stayed at the Wit for the weekend. I stayed in one of the suites. Everything was great until check out. Staff was amazing and so was the atmosphere. But when I was packing up my money clip feel behind the dresser. When I went to grab it I was disgusted. So much trash, dust and the most disturbing thing was a lot of condom wrappers...

The Wit is in a great location and offers some amazing views of the city (especially on the roof). Upon entrance they offered a warm cookie which already made me like the place. It was painfully cold out with flurries and that was a welcome gift. The room was spacious with a lot of extra conveniences, including a small kitchen area. The strangest thing here (not in a bad way) was the birds chirping across the speaker system in all the hallways. Makes you forget how misrable outside it is right now in the winter for a few brief moments. Breakfast here is great but a little overpriced for what it is.

One problem (not for me but may be the case for other people depending on your schedule). If you book a room on a higher floor: don't expect to sleep too easily on the weekends because the roof has parties going on throughout the entire night and the music is very audible.

I must stay when visiting Chicago. Bring your running shoes for they have well equipped gym with a view along with a yoga studio. The staff is professional and courteous. Dont let the birds chirping in the hallways throw you off, it relaxing and surprisingly inviting.

beautiful hotel with great amenities. Loved the light - hearted vibe. Roof lounge was cozy, breakfast in the lobby restaurant was tasty. Comfortable bed, nice iron... only complaint was the shower didn't get hot enough and the bathroom door slides closed but does not seal to block out sounds

I stayed Oct 12-14, 2018 in a spa King. Paid $750, taxes included.

Pros: Awesome location, with train access right there. Knowledgeable concierge. Friendly staff. Nice view from the corner room (1402). Clean. Soft bath towels. Nice workout equipment (Precor). Cookies. Environmental soundscapes on the guest floors near the elevators, birds in morning and crickets at night.

Cons: Awful, old, unsupported, sink-to-the-middle mattress. So-so bed linens. Train noise. Cold room bc of windows. They could add some USB charging ports. Need more hooks on the walls of the bathroom, esp since they want everyone to be environmentally conscious by reusing towels. No bathroom fan. Freezing hallway. Overall the room feels old. Chipped bathtub. Floor of shower and bath has multiple layers of old caulk. Smallest, lackluster lobby. The Roof was not open for happy hour. Not great for kids.

I don't think I'll come back.

This hotel was super convenient for our recent Memorial Day Weekend stay. Love that you can step out the door and almost immediately climb the steps of the L train station. I felt like the value was excellent and appreciated the friendly staff greeting us every time we came through the lobby. 4/5 stars because the exit door closest to the train steps was blocked off all weekend long.
