It's a great pub but the food is disappointing. Went with friends on Sunday for a sunday roast and it was not worth the money. Super dry and chewy pork and tough beef . Will definitely be back for drinks, but getting food elsewhere.

Decent hotel on the Common. Spacious rooms, ginormous bathrooms (separate bath and shower in ours!), comfy bed, all very clean. Breakfast was nice, excellent cooked offerings and the usual continental fare.
Wouldn't really recommend it as a pub, mind. Uninspiring beer choices.
The staff are so difficult. We wanted to sit in the sun and we couldn't because someone had booked the table in 60 minutes. We only wanted a couple drinks and we said we would move if they turned up but no...... really!! Computer says no.
Good selection of beers, nice location set back from the main road. A friend had a burger which took some time to arrive but he was happy with it. Crowd a bit varied.
I was at a social event at The Windmill. There were quite a lot of us, so I don't think my experience probably reflects the general vibe of the place. It's in a nice location at the edge of Clapham Common. Toilets were clean. Our group was well looked after.
A warm friendly hotel. The rooms are clean, comfortable & beautifully decorated. All facilities are provided. Tea/Coffee, hair dryer, complete range of toiletries in the bathroom & very pleasant staff
The gentleman Ben with the largest coolest dog ever! who greeted us at the door was so polite & jovial while explaining the changes in Covid rules Had a great experience from start to finish I highly recommend this place Great service with good pub grub Thanks to your whole team
Perfect venue after a game of touch rugby. Really long communal feeling tables, fresh sausage rolls and a great selection of drinks on offer. Has become a regular on a Saturday post game.
Fantastic food and atmosphere. Let down by service... we had to constantly interupt the waitress chatting to her friend accross the bar just to get service whilst coworkers were struggling to cope with the amount of customers.
Pleasant settings out on the common, several craft beers available which is always a plus! Very busy on a Saturday afternoon though so most of the tables weren't being cleared outside - also drinks and foos are certainly on the pricier side but fairly typical for the area.
Really good sunday lunch, they always seem to manage to find a table for 2 with no reservation. Tasty choice of roasts and lots of it, no rush to finish, good atmosphere, great pub dog too :).
I have just had the best Sunday roast of my life! The belly pork was cooked to perfection! The crackling was both crisp and easy to eat. The Yorkshire pudding delicious and the selection of vegetables perfect. I m going again very soon
Great lunch as always. Extremely COVID safe, loads of room and sanitising stations by toilets and entrance and restaurant areas. Service is always exceptional and they spoil your dogs rotten! Perfect location in the middle of Clapham Common so great for walks before or after eating.
For a great big pub with boutique accommodation, this place still has a lot of character. Big outdoor drinking space includes a burger shack and cosy shepherd's hut, perfect for winter. Indoors is pretty dark but its myriad of rooms means you're likely to find the decor that suits your mood. Dog friendly too (landlord has a gentle giant dog, Max)
Pub quiz that was advertised was not on ended up waiting there for it when there were many we could have gone to in the area. Haggled with the managed to get a few free beers for it, still does not make up for the fact we spent a couple hundred pounds in there when we could've been elsewhere. At the end for unknow reason they stop serving us due to an inexperienced bar tender, this is the last time I will go to or recommend this pub. Also the Sunday roast is overpriced and poor quality. Do not go here .
I don't know how I can respond to a response so I have edited.
I spoke to the bar manager who was happy to serve me. I asked him to speak to my friend so he would see we where obviously not totally inebriated but he refused and talked back to me. I decided we would all leave as I did not want to give the custom they did not deserve. Shame they didn't admit to their poor behaviour.
Booked a table of 6 outside for my birthday and sadly the experience was ruined by how we were treated by the security guard. My friend arrived and passed me a present which happened to be a box of chocolates and within seconds the guard was telling us that outside food could not be consumed. Of course, that is a valid rule and we explained calmly it was just an exchanging of a gift that was going straight into my bag but his tone was argumentative and patronising and he talked over us. He returned later the moment our 6th guest arrived to remind us of the rule of 6 as if the table wasn't booked for 6 with only 6 seats available. I appreciate the business is striving to keep government advice but his tone was unnecessarily rude and he spoke to us like we were children.
It was a shame because other members of staff we encountered were polite enough. Despite waiting nearly an hour for a couple of bottles of wine and some glasses, the staff were apologetic. So it does just seem to be this one member of staff and I have a noticed a number of complaints on here about a rude security guard!
We stayed for a night in the hotel and enjoyed drinks in the evening and a good breakfast the following morning. The Windmill is in a great location, so quick and easy to reach central London and surrounded by Clapham Common. The room was lovely, spotless, comfortable and welcoming. The staff were the highlight; warm, friendly and chatty; we mention them by name as it was such a lovely experience to chat to so many genuinely friendly people. So a special shout out to them; Ben, Sylvia, Tash, Ben, Darrel, Fraser, Kate and of course Max!
One of my favorite hotels in London. Beautiful boutique rooms and a dog call Max is always near the bar or reception to greet you. Staff are really friendly and helpful. I think it is the only hotel I ve been to that provides complementary fresh milk for your tea and coffee in the hotel rooms.
An special place to have lunch and drinks. Although the outside is beautiful, the inside is surprisingly much better. The food was very nice and the service couldn't do better.
I was given a dish with an hair in it so I asked the waitress to take it back. She brought me another dish so fast that to be honest I think was the same with just the hair removed. There were no apologies and when the waitress came back she just dropped the dish on front of me, very rude. Nothing was done to save my experience (a discount and extra glass of wine etc) with the place. I used to love the place but honestly a hair in the dish is gross...
My first visit, and only a brief one, but what stood out was the friendliness of the staff. It's an interesting pub in a great location beside Clapham Common and I'll definitely be returning.
Wonderful restaurant with hotel at the park. Many different rooms, decorated with British antiques. Terrace. Delicious food: British and Mediterranean.
Very disappointing. Had Sunday roast there over the weekend. Having ordered the Pate to start, we then waited a whole hour for our mains to come which never did. The kitchen had forgotten about them so needed reminding. Once the food come, the meal was poor at best. Roast potatoes with no crunch and crackling on the pork not nearly crackly - if anything slimy and soft. All in all, my girlfriend and I left disappointed and will be going somewhere else next time we go out for a Sunday roast
Poor service, the waitresses were rude, not welcoming, and not very gentle with the food and drinks (I got food poured over my shirt). And the food was not even very good and not at all well presented in the plate. It's been a while we noticed that the quality of food and service has decreased at the Windmill, but this time it really is the last time for us at this restaurant.
Had the chicken burger which was amazing. Was a little on the pricey side (about 13 pounds) and the chips were average. Would have expected a slightly nicer side salad. Overall it was good.
Very nice rooms with a great feel. Bar restaurant are shabby chic leaning on shabby a thorough spit and polish and would be great. Perfect place if you're going to Brixton academy as it's an alright walk and good food along the way.
We really liked this pub! We went for drinks after it started raining in the park -as it is conviniently located ;). It was busy with live musics - dogs allowed! I only had drinks although I'd like to come back and try the food despites some of my friends said that perhaps the burger was a bit too spicy.

Booked our Company Christmas Party here, 3 course meal with drinks reception - 32 people in total - the service, staff, food and venue all very good! Would recommend to anyone.
