Visited for a Sunday Roast. The Vegetarian option was Amazing. The Meat option was too much but could be better. Great atmosphere and worth a visit for sure
Dog friendly! Free dog treats, cold water.
Nice selection of beers and ales, including local independents Brixton Brewery, Beaver Town, Camden Hells etc, also bigger brands like Guiness, Heineken, Peroni, Orchard Thieves etc.
Food, although haven t had any personally, always looks delicious when it go a past. Vegan food and deserts on the menu :)
Range of indoor and outdoor seating options, big high tables with bar stools, small sofas, tables, picnic tables under umbrellas. The place is large and thus offers an environment for a range of activities; catching up with many friends, having a quiet drink with your dog, working from home on your laptop making use of the free WiFi etc.

Order drinks & open a tab, become the DJ, add some tunes to the playlist.
Ketel one vodka bloody Mary s!
Car park is a (pay by phone) pay and display HOWEVER, if you drive 30 seconds around the left hand corner there is parking that is free for 2/3 hours. Just make sure you park in the bays.
The windmill is a lovely traditional cosy pub with a hotel, it has more than enough space and plenty of seating without taking away from the atmosphere. They serve traditional English homemade food as well! Definitely one of the best pubs in Clapham
Really nice pub, child and dog friendly, good selection of drinks and great coffee. Good for a meetup with friends (we just hung around the bar area) bar food and restaurant food very good.
Very nice place, lovely rooms. Friendly staff and good food. Right on the Common. Worth a visit.
Just had a glass of wine and chips, which were delicious. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice ambience
A nice relaxing environment and atmophere. Found the big rose wine glass a bit pricey.
Nice place with a decent selection of different food - need to massively work on their veggie burger. Too crumbly.
Cosy place in Clapham South for a drink!
Sunday lunch is awesome!
Best raspberry gin and tonic I have drunk. Presentation was superb. Time for another one
It's a beautiful pub right on the edge of the park. Great drinks selection, excellent and accommodating staff. Food was good but not incredible.
We've been hassled by a security guy regarding mask-wearing policies until the point that we had enough, and left. (By then we had already been waiting for our orders for 25 minutes.) To me it looked like he's been picking on me from the very first moment for some reason.
Love this pub. Great for the rugby and fantastic cider
Loved this place so much. Perfect for after a dog walk, amazing atmosphere and great food - especially in the winter.
I got a couple of beers there to take out on to the common. It's a nice pub, I've been there several times over the years. My main complaint is that it has a tiny bar that is frequently swamped by sports teams all trying to buy drinks at once. For my second drink it was easier and quicker to go to the off licence across the road.
Wonderful restaurant in a beautiful building in enjoyable surroundings. Very good menu and wine list. Knowledgeable staff.
I basically came here to see Max, but in addition to this wonderful creature roaming around - the service was quick, the pub was clean, and everything ran smoothly with the app. We ordered the curly fries with green chili pork TWICE in one sitting because it was so good! Will definitely be returning.
A gorgeous pub located right in Clapham Common. I've been coming here for years and have never been disappointed, but my dog always demands half my sausage roll
Great place, great food and the staff is absolutely Lovely including Max the pub dog ... We went down for a surprise birthday lunch and tried the Sunday roast. Would definitely recommend!!
Great food and atmosphere! I recommend the Mac and cheese
Really nice pub with fantastic food and really friendly staff. They've also been kind enough to let me charge the car.
Had Sky Sports for the football. Great energy for a Sunday
Adorable hotel. Looks exactly as pictured. Has AC (thank God). Amazing hotel/pub dog. Great service.
Great choice of refurbished rooms. The service stll feels Personal. Good beer selection, nice pub & well presented breakfast/restaurant option.
Love the Windmill. There are plenty of great spaces both indoors and outdoors. The pub is also very dog friendly. Their food menu is tasty and they have a great selection of beers to enjoy.
Been often for drinks and occasionally dinner. A well situated pub with plenty of space in the restaurant, bar and outside areas. Immediately situated on Clapham Common, so very good for a post sports-day drink. Food is of a good standard (and there's a Young's Burger Shack outside) and bar is well stocked with a variety of decent drinks. Dog friendly, so often see pups in and outside. Also has a function room for party events. Is in Clapham so can have a Clapham crowd. Overall a decent pub!
Great pub with great food.
Dog friendly
My very picky mother was happy with the reservation here. It's an old building, so the aesthetic is cosy and gently lit, rather than cuttting-edge modern. That extends to some of the fittings - in the room there was an old-style British fitting for the light which flickered if it was touched. But given that it's a traditional setting in a green space in busy London, with a fantastic pub attached that is even better in the sunshine, it's a good choice for a stay.
Lovely pub. Great service. Good beer and a huge cuddly dog who can high five.
Good vibe, shame the TV broke on champions league final but they adapted and made the best of it
It is a very busy pub with a nice beer garden. Drinks are pricey for the area. Staff are not very friendly, they had the heating up full blast on a packed 6 nations day and I was actually sweating! It was clearly to get people to buy more drinks. Asked staff to turn down heating as did several other people and one responded its not even on, i was like ot clearly is and then she said well we cant turn it off. Apparently staff have no control over heating!! Food was over priced and average at best. 9 pounds for 3 halloumi and a plate full of green leaves.
Comfortable room. Our room was near the back, on the park. No road noise or noise from the pub. The breakfast is very good.
Wonderful sunny day, lots of outside seating, with a glass of guiness and good company, what does one want
Love this place. Lovely country feeling in the city!
Good spot for a lunch and drink close to the common. Parking on site.
Bad management/ security staff. Very disappointed as I have been banned from the venue because the security tried to punch me. I complained to the general manager and I had a very disappointing response
Dear Jaser
I m obviously not going to get in a debate with you regarding my decision via email as it s not going to benefit either of us, should you wish to escalate your complaint you can reach my Operations Manager via email at ----------@youngs.co.uk

General manager
Nice boozer, the younger looking northern bloke who seemed to be a supervisor was extremely helpful and efficient, knew what he was doing behind the bar as well. Makes a nice change to have a barman like that
Great location, great beers, dog friendly and a good atmosphere
Nice warmly place that's nicely lit and has a serves neck oil
Nice pub close to Clapham Common; good for after-social drinks with plenty of seating outside.
It's cheap pub with a really good sun terrace in front.
Food is fair for the price, the beer selection what nothing special.
Good drinking pub but the food ain't great. Standard pub grub done fairly poorly, my buttermilk fried chicken burger was not buttermilk fried in any recognisable way and was dramatically overcooked. I think my Trip Advisor app put it perfectly about an hour after sitting down for lunch here - "The Windmill is NEAR some great places to eat"...... unfortunately, it just isn't one of them!
Greatpub with really nice food, if a litre pricey. Very dog friendly
I actually went to the burger van out front which is great. Have been to the pub in the past and is nice.
Nice in summer, can be very busy on Saturday afternoon
Great hotel and wonderful pub!
I put my parents here when they visited me.
Due to the quiet location in the middle of Clapham Common, you don't have the feeling of being in London. Great oasis in the big city.
The pub is wonderful too, lovely staff and a cute pub dog to pet;) Breakfast is great too!
Magnificent place to enjoy a beer and a good rugby match
Great place to meet people and get drinks by the park.
A gorgeous pub hotel. Very friendly staff. Rooms are clean, spacious and very well decorated. Enjo8my stay there.
Good pub..personally I prefer pints under a fiver and no stinky fish served all the time
Roast dinner not great. Salad bit limp. Wine ridiculously expensive
Newly renovated and its absolutely amazing! I am shocked its only 3 star! Good people, food and lovely environment! Fantastic location!
Comfortable room. Our room was near the back, on the park. No road noise or noise from the pub. The breakfast is very good.
The venue is amazing - cosy vintage sofas for drinks and a gorgeous dinning hall. Make sure you stop by to say Hi and give a treat to the cutest Pub Pup ever! (You get a treat from the bar and all donations forthat go to an animal shelter they support!) Great and friendly service!
We do not stay here but the pub is awesome and so is the food! We come back every year that we visit the UK
Modern pub with a good selection of Beers. Dog friendly as Well.
Really spacious and interesting architecture. The inside feels old but modern at the same time. Has a restaurant area that looked nice. It was a warm evening so we drank outside. Crowd seemed friendly. Bouncers seemed chilled which is always nice. Bar staff were really friendly too. Would definitely go back and recommend to others.
Sunday roast was good, but it is a dog friendly pub. I didn't realise this. I had to eat with 5 dogs wagging their tails around me. Great for dog lovers!
Ambience good, beer selection passable, food overpriced and not quite up to scratch.
The place looks really nice, it's a very majestic building and I liked the fact that they have different sections if you want a more quiet area. Now, the food was OK, but for the prices it was not a good value for money. I'm a big gastropubs fan and your meals have similar pricing, but oh boy, it charged me cental London prices. So, be aware of this. Also the waitress, was very dismissive and you can feel she couldn't care less. She said she had to do the drinks as well, so maybe she was covering someone else's duty, but as a customer you can understand that's not my fault and should have received that kind of attitude.
Great location, nicely presented. Unfortunately the service and food is very average at best (not what you'd expect for the price also). Been at least ten times and there's almost always an issue. The owner needs to train the weekend staff. Ordered two coffees, took them almost 30min! Not the first time also. Up your game could be so much better.
Stayed overnight whilst visiting great place to stay good food lovely bedrooms would stay again!
You'll inevitably end up here after football on the common. A huge pub, right within the bounds of the park, with a reasonable range of chain beers and so-so pub food. Not much reason to come from further afield, though.
The Windmill is a great pub located just off of Clapham Common. It has great food and is reasonably priced. Would definitely go back.
Good atmosphere, plenty of seating and good selection of beers
London classic! If you are looking for the English roots here they are, classic design, typical pub, boys and girls providing more power without being bothered with the context of the hotel. A place to come back!
Pretty much the best pub I've ever been to. Great service, amazing staff and the cuddliest pub dog. The manager Ben even took the time to welcome us before our roasts arrived .
Lovely big airy room. Lovely to have a seperate bath to shower. Staff were lovely, food was great.
Been here multiple times with friends. Great selection of ale and the food is good. Family friendly. Enjoyed it today for the jubilee bank holiday weekend.
