14 quid for a burger that was no better than what I've had at Sunday league football burger vans. In fact they were better. They knew what they were and came with no pretensions. And didn't cost 14 quid! Hardly any chips and my fat mate are three of them. If you're gonna have ideas above your station and offer 14 quid burgers... Deliver! Nothing special about the gaff and you can't get a pint for a fiver. Disgusted, disappointed and remembering the days when service for a smile was a given in this beautiful country of ours. Shame, shame, shame on this pub, and shame on the liberal elite that have driven us to this most dire of circumstances. I fear for the great British boozer in these circumstances. God save the queen. I am unhappy as a person, and needed a nice afternoon away from my unemployed money grabbing children and unfaithful shrew of a wife and this has ruined all of those aspirations. A damning inditement of new labour policies and the current climate. No doubt I will be censored for sharing my opinion in this world of 'human rights' and 'free expressionism' God save the Queen.

A beautiful setting, family and pet friendly venue.
I have been many times but never eaten there, bar is fine...food not so much.
Although friends were over from abroad and they wanted a traditional roast. Roast beef was so very poor, tough, fat on the edges (the yummy stuff) was just rock hard and rubbery.
Food was barely warm and the flavours were just really very bland.
So hugely disappointed and not cheap!

One of the best pubs I've been to. It's huge. It's cosy. It's lovely. It has a dining room with a sunroof. The food is nice and they have my favorite. Guinness. You can bring your dog inside which is nice. You can sit outside. There is a playground for kids in the back which is great for families. Service is also excellent. Really enjoyed it here. Highly recommend.

We were , from the moment of arrival, treated to a personal and helpful service from a staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. We were part of a wedding party, and everyone involved made sure that we were comfortable and able to enjoy the wedding preparations.

The facilities provided were first class. It was a real bonus to have on-site parking, the public rooms were pleasant, the food excellent and - as mentioned above - the service was excellent.

Extremely stunning room. Loved the decor. Comfy bed. Sky TV and free wi-fi. Location includes a lively bar and if that's not your thing thankfully you can't hear anything from the rooms.

Five of us went for dinner, this was a social catch up with friends who had been working abroad. We all ordered mains and drinks. The team were really kind and patient when a couple of people were late. We did get slightly hurried at the More

A good pub on the common that is brilliant in the summer months for a drink. Food is decent, though the staff seemed pretty disorganised and it took a while for our food to arrive plus a couple of items didn't make it to the table. Also being given a squishy plastic cup whilst drinking inside is a bit of a no no in my book. But all in all this place is worth a visit when the sun is shining and they would get an extra star if the service was a little snappier and the staff a bit more attentive to diners' needs.

After one or two wonderful Christmas drinks -I was assaulted with unreasonable
force by the bouncer Larry here - I am a
5ft4 girl and the bouncer was a HUGE guy of 14 stone and double my height. The bouncer sees red and uses force and aggression. The manager Daniel watched it happen and did not do anything about it.

As a local I would not recommend this pub as lovely as it s surroudings are as it s not ok to treat people in this way.

No character whatsoever. Just a big building, painted to look like one of the smaller, trendier pubs in the area. And really bright lights to highlight the bad decor. Go somewhere else, seriously.

(nothing wrong with the staff or drinks, to be fair, just... Nothing right with the place)

Right by the Clapham Common park, with available parking and nice seating area outside, ideal for sunny days.
The service quite slow and sloppy, we had to ask for drinks several times before getting them and our food arrived with no cutlery and got a bit cold by the time we managed to find some.
The food wasn't great either, I tried 6 different dishes from my friends, including Sunday roast which was just tasteless and the only main worth trying, in my opinion, is the butternut squash with oyster mushrooms and pomodoro sauce.

Extremely poor - I came to the Windmill as I urgently needed to use the restroom. I am 6 months pregnant, and the weather was 37 degrees. I approached the entrance to be stopped by security who told me I cannot enter the pub. When I informed him of being pregnant he told me that legally I can be anywhere, and motioned to the outdoor space. He then repeatedly insisted that I pee outside somewhere in the park. When I asked to speak to manager he refused. I was told I needed to be a customer to use the facilities, so I offered to buy something repeatedly and again was denied. A paying customer came outside to intervene and politely ask him to let me inside and he again, denied me entrance. When this customer asked to speak to the manager the security guard refused. After a lot of going back and forth for around 5 minutes one of the workers took all my details, said I could go inside but it was illegal due to new health requirements. I just want to add at this establishment there was ZERO form of social distancing, there was NO MASKS being worn by both staff and customers AND it was overcrowded outside. I have never experienced such hostility and just lack of human decency in my life. I m genuinely disgusted and disappointed by this experience.

Just had drinks and dinner here. Barman was excellent and food similarly great. A few places to sit and chat away from the bar. Restaurant is on the smaller side, but plenty of tables for groups, very airy. Rainy while I was there, but once the weather warms nice looking out-doors area.

Really nice food but shocking bar staff. When giving my change I was given an old pound coin. Politely asked for a new one given the old ones arent valid for much longer and barlady told me I could change them in my bank because she wasn't going to open the till up 'just for me'. Then asked for a glass (because I figure that's not an unreasonable request) and was told they don't have any. Shrug of the shoulders and a 'what do you want me to do about it attitude. Shame - don't expect to be treated like that on my nice Sunday afternoon. Attitude is just unnecessary and completely ruined my experience at this pub. Sort it out management!
