A gorgeous pub hotel. Very friendly staff. Rooms are clean, spacious and very well decorated. Enjo8my stay there.
Good roast dinner but it is busy, you need to book in advanced
Attending a wedding there. Good food, good service. :)
Came here for lunch on a Sunday; I'd highly recommend getting a booking here. We had a table of 5, with a 2 year old, and had great food. I ordered the venison pie with mash which was superb, and the beer selection was varied. Ended up spending 2-3 hours here and the waiting staff were very friendly, food natured, and knowledgeable about the menu.
A tale of two staff members.
One member of staff, Guilia, behind the bar was engaging, charming and simply got the point that working in a pub/restaurant means your supposed to be charming and helpful. Her colleague however in the restaurant couldn t be bothered. I think a career as a traffic warden would be more suitable for her. Reluctantly supplied a little butter but wouldn t entertain the idea of chutney with a ploughman s lunch and quite rudely and grumpily walked away possibly not understanding what I was asking for.
I wouldn t rush back to eat!
Very Good, great quality food and wine ,rooms exceptionally good
Lovely ambience. Drinks and food is expensive, but about on par for the area. Would be great to have some tables out back overlooking the common.
Really great location. Nice & friendly staff. Have had the burgers in the summer outside which were memorable! Massive Clapham hang out. What's not to like!
A pleasant hotel, with nice places to drink out the front.
Walking distance to the nightlife that is located around the common.

A charming pub with a lot of younger people (in their mid twenties to thirties) on a Saturday night. Staff were friendly and the toilets were clean. Could have done with some music to add to the ambience but other than that a nice place to go to start your night.
always a nice please. however it does take a long time to get a drink
Very good service, good was absolutely incredible. Have been recommending to everyone since my visit.
Ate at the restaurant here recently - enjoyed the food and thought there were plenty of veggie options; a nice open atmosphere so it ll be especially nice when the sun s out. And our server, Esan was super-friendly and attentive. Would come back if in the area again!
Very cozy and dog friendly. Make sure you get there for hot home made sausage rolls at 11:30am for your Saturday hangovers.
Modern pub with a good selection of Beers. Dog friendly as Well.
Excellent, but some rooms have a bit of noise from the pub and nearby traffic.
The bouncers are a disgrace, assaulted a female by pushing a door in her face multiple times and also removed other people for trying to identify the bouncer which he would do legally
Avoid booking and paying deposits .
It has now been 13 days (10 working days) and still no refund. Looks like not much is done either despite email communication.
Plenty of other pubs around the area to book: Perky Nel, Avalon, Devonshire and The Grove.
Very busy on a sunny Saturday afternoon...We sat outside, ordered food but the previous occupant's plates were not cleared even after our own food arrived.
Nice looking pub, great food, great location. Not a good selection of craft beer though.
Ok staff but a lil bit pricy even for a few night for 2 rooms, but it cloud. E beacuse of the holidays
Very nice pub and hotel. Nice service and time well spent
Curly fries topped with pulled pork from the beer garden food stall.
Acoustic set in the beer garden is always a winner.
Good ambiance, great food, fast service, even on a Tuesday night.
Loved this place, great food and service as well as a massive dog!
Hard to find a better place in South London for a Sunday roast in the summer sun. Absolutely world class service and food. Our waiter, Simon, was excellent.
We stayed at the Windmill Hotel for 1 night and greatly enjoyed it, Check in staff are very friendly , the characterful room was large and well appointed with a really comfy bed, decent linens, mini bar, tea and coffee etc, good toiletries. Breakfast was excellent , a good selection of buffet foods and a la carte included in the price, bonus of the visit is the lovely pub dog Max !
Great pub with seating inside and out, perfect in summer! Just off from the common
Amazing setting. Beautiful rooms. Live fires. Dog. Friendly staff and very cosy.
Food was excellent and our server Lisa was exceptionally attentive and friendly!
Perfect location. Lovely service. Nice food. Cold drinks. With a nice weather you won't fine a better place!
I was only here briefly for a Niantec Labs Ingress event , but it seemed like a nice pub, and it served my favourite cider.
After pre season training session with Bec Belles RFC on Clapham Common Southside, it's a lovely place to chat and rehydrate
Awesome large pub and hotel. Live band on a Sunday.
Had the worst experience after what was a lovely evening. The bouncers used unreasonable force on my female friend. Not that weight or sIze matters but a size 8 girl is hardly a threat to a huge bouncer who found it necessary to push and shove her around the pub to get her out. She was put in an arm lock and shoved out the door. You would have hoped the management of the windmill would have seen this as unacceptable and intervened however when you hire people with no morals or back bone I guess we should have expected no sympathy or appology. The food is below average, the service is awful and the interior is beyond dated! Such a shame for what could be an amazing pub for all its locals and visitors.
Went for a beef Sunday roast, the whole table had undercooked/overcooked beef which was pretty much inedible. Clearly not worth the price (which is expensive).
The service was also terrible, asked to pay before even ordering drinks (we had to stop the waitress otherwise we wouldn't had any).
Clearly an expensive restaurant with terrible food in a not-that-great place, you can pass on that one.
Nice pub with a great open space, perfect for sunny days! Didn't have the chance to eat but the meals I saw coming out the kitchen looked really tempting so I'll surely go back to the Windmill for a sunday roast.
Menu very disappointing & limited choice. Had eggs Benedict- poached eggs were hard not appetizing at all. Needs a deep clean.
Drinks only. I like the pub, the service was ok. 3.5/5
Story. Service, food, atmosphere - all for 5! Worth every price.
Good solid Young's pub on the common with ample seating in and out. A bit pricey for what it is drinks wise, but that's the London factor. Good value food. Yummy burgers and chilly fries from the burger shack!
Lovely pub. Outdoor area is great for a drink and food in the summer. Delicious Sunday roast
Expensive beer, stale crisps, ragged tatty chairs and at tables near bar, room smelled like urine.
Great for a beer but not really a fan of the food as a gourmet experience.
Definitely would go there for a standard English pub meal when the craving arises so that says much about my standards so... soz if not helpful?
Hadnt been here for awhile. Still love it. Even though it was rammed
Great food and drink. Service could have been a little quicker.
Bar is in a good location, however the bouncers were really rude - repeatedly made us to move chairs and our possessions for no apparent reason. If you go in the daytime with no bouncers there it's probably great.
Get to this pub after a walk in the park. Bring your dog. They have an in-pub dog called Max. Excellent venue, fantastic sausage rolls and an all round good atmosphere
Lovely atmosphere and decoration of the pub also very friendly staff!
This pub is a really great place to meet with friends for a drink. They have a large range of pints on draft as well as lots of bottles.
The food as well is delicious and reasonable priced.
Pub quiz on a Sunday is really good, but quite difficult!
They have a hotel with again is really comfortable and we have used it a few times to accommodate visiting friends and family.
Live music was very loud in the dining section. Delucious food but portions were incredibly large!
Great pub on a sunny day. Fun through to the evening. Often they have a band or a DJ outside pumping the tunes.
Great pub with outdoor area sometimes hosting live music.
Rude people serving the food. Asked for ketchup and got a dirty look and a shake of the head. Security were rude and were trying to stop us from getting to the restaurant which we were trying to access to see if there was a table available.
Went to the windmill for a Sunday roast and it was absolutely excellent. Top quality food and service.
Food and atmosphere is awesome, stayed 2 nights, loved it. Excellent wifi, lots if plug sockets and on top of a pub on clapham common. What more can you ask!
Great location for a few drinks on a sunny day by the Common. Food is mediocre. Great selection of beers and fun communal atmosphere.
Disappointed.
Saturday. I drove 90 minutes to get to this place which someone recommend as brunch worthy.
My chicken with a savoury waffle was confused with the desert option.
The staff lack basic table waiting skills, perhaps a morning being trained.
A simple drinks order came by installments.
Items ordered on a tablet were missed when our food came along.
A huge contrast to the experience I enjoyed at the Bell Inn in Outwood (Surrey) 18hrs ago.
So I'm going to avoid this place in future because it's just a trap exploiting its enviable location or they cannot be bothered to provide a decent dining experience.
The only person who enjoyed her meal appears to be my daughter but you can't really call the kids option your star dish and I don't know if she was just really hungry.
Brilliant food and great service! Our server Esan was amazing!
Lovely pub ! Had nice Sharer meal for 2 , definitly be back soon
Food was nice... Mine and my friends food came out at different times
The place is so cosy and pretty. The garden is so nice and there are some vegan options. We ordered onion rings and spinach pie with roasted pepper sauce and it was super good.
Popped in for a spot of brunch with a friend. Even though we had not booked they managed to fit us in and my dog!
Everything was perfect from the warm reception of the host, our server to the quality of the fresh food and perfectly made coffees.
To top off an all ready amazing visit I even got a cuddle from the local legend, Max the pub dog.
Will be back very soon xxx
The food was good but was let down by a couple of things, the burger I had was disappointingly small and one of our servers acted like they really did not want to be there. Saying this overall the pub is really nice with a good atmosphere and all the food we had tasted good.
Cool place and very busy but the Sunday roast pork was a little dry. But nice place and great staff.
Beer was a little pricier than other places. Solid sausage roll.
