Very nice business lunch .. good service and very comfy
we loved this place! stayed here for our honeymoon, and it was sooo lovely! the staff were friendly, and the view was breath-taking.
Excellent stay at a very normal Westin Hotel! Some parts may need updating, particularly drab hotel corridors. However the excellent staff, friendly demeanour and overall ambience is excellent and suited us perfectly for a family break. The lobby is suitably impressive and well decorated and all the usual 5 star amenities abound. We have had a brilliant stay and the food was mostly great, particularly breakfast.
A lovely night out with excellent service and fantastic food.
While I a not into resort hotels, this was nice...particularly the people...very pleasant!
Expensive but worth every cent vrry good staff, keep the service up.
Great Hotel and location, very friendly and helpful staff, seafront area with nice pool, all rooms with sea view, excellent food, huge and well equiped gym, all in all very positive ambiance. Perfect Hotel for Incentives and Meetings. Highly recommended.
So we check in for a one night stay at The Westin Dragonara resort, which was paid on booking. The receptionist (Dusan) confirmed that the full amount was paid. He also added that a 200 deposit is needed. They said this was a normal procedure for every guest on check in but this was never disclosed to us before, even though the stay was already paid on booking. That night we spoke to another receptionist (Jacques) about the issue and he agreed that the deposit will be received back on check out instead of 4 days after check out.
On checking out, 2 receptionists (Jelena Premovic and Ryan Spiteri) let us know there is an additional payment of 70. I explained that on check in, the receptionist confirmed that the stay was already fully paid on booking. They claimed that the extra charge is because there were 2 'extra' people in the room (which was written in small print in the confirmation email AFTER I booked), but on booking I clearly stated that the room was for 4 people. Jelena was very rude to us and left for a 'meeting', only to return a few minutes later. The director of sales and marketing (Edward Bonello) was involved and later informed me by email that 'the wrong bill was shown and it should have never been disclosed with me.' The 70 were refunded, quoting 'as a gesture of goodwill.'
I find this very unprofessional from a 5 star hotel. These miscommunications can be easily handled by communicating clearly with your guests beforehand.
Lounging and dining experience is fantastic at the Westin Dragonara. Friendly staff and enjoyable food. Tea for two is not to be missed.
Superb hotel with great service and Beautiful views
Only attended a business Breakfast but nothing to complain about. All in perfect order.
I did not stay at this hotel, but dealt with management when I had to cancel a non cancellable reservation. We were planning to travel in summer with my mom, dad and three young triplet girls and booked two rooms. Last month my 83 year old dad had a stroke and was diagnosed with severe degenerative heart disease. He was told that he had limited time left could no longer travel under any circumstances. I immediately contacted the hotel and offered them his medical records and a doctors letter attesting to this. First I was told the hotel "prefers" not to give refunds but that we could use the two rooms until the end of 2020 or have some meal credits if we only use one room. I explained that I could not travel alone with three young children and that my dad would never be able to travel again so If possible, I would prefer to pay a penalty and have the rest refunded. I was then told that they do not provide refunds "under any circumstances" but my family could use the rooms till then end of 2021. I was shocked. Given the fact that my dad is dying how was the date extension supposed to help? Was I supposed to bring him after he passed? How would a single dad travel with 7 year old triplets use one room when it exceeded occupancy standards? The tone deaf response from management prompted me to write this review. We have received full or partial refunds from all the other hotels we booked as well as all the flights. The only property not to even try to work with us in a reasonable way was the Westin Dragonara. As a Marriott elite member I am seriously reconsidering my Marriott status if the brand allows its properties to treat loyal customers with such insensitivity. I'm sure the hotel is lovely, but be forewarned about the hotel's extreme cancellation policies and tone deaf management.
Very nice and the rooms that have a view of the pool and the sea splendor
Lovely location, decor and service. Spacious rooms. Breakfast at terrace restaurant was good. Shower and bed was comfortable. Two bottled water free and welcome chocolates in room as welcome gift was a nice touch.
However, I would say it could be due for a renovation as some interior aspects look tired. Internet is very expensive at at least 14 euro per day. However, I felt that they could add some front desk staff as there always seems to be a wait.
Always happy to stop. Especially good suites on the sea side on the 1st floor with gardens. There are technically Court. True, the restaurant is a bit confused with breakfast so-so, so 4ka.
I really enjoyed the direct access to the sea, but I hated the musty smell that all rooms have, because the air conditioning hasn't been cleaned for a long time. Nor is it possible that a Carlton hotel does not have the air conditioner working in good condition, that is: the service is centralized, and each guest cannot set the temperature they prefer.
Top location, on the seafront, just a few hundred meters from the party area
Then, a five-star hotel, which has no spa, because what there was was impossible for such a hotel. It doesn't have a shower but the tub (apparently for Japanese customers) because they rightly have the money. Breakfast was not included, for a fee it was only 33 per person. For me you can also close
All you expect from 5*, with a touch of personal approach...
A hotel full of resort feeling while being in the city of Saint Julian's. The staff's education is solid and you could stay comfortably. Breakfast was also delicious.
We had a newly renovated suite on the 8th floor with a great sea view. After complaint. First we got an unrenovated suite on the 1st floor with a parking space overlooking the sea. Otherwise good hotel in a good location. Breakfast class! Staff friendly and helpful. There is a lot going on over Easter, so a little chaos when eating. Hair dryer was missing in the room. Had to call three times until someone came and brought a hair dryer. Explanation on the phone: it cannot be that there is no hair dryer! Yes, it was so! But was also the only drawback. Otherwise quite recommendable hotel!
Luxurious, with a lovely pool area. But luckily I'm not paying!
It was definitely a great experience.. relaxed and enjoyable.
Wonderful sausage rest. The hotel from which you do not even need to leave. Is that to go look at the crowd of students in Pacheville, or look at Valletta.
100% well done for Gluten and Lactose food and well done also for the chefs.
Excellent service, quiet, excellent staff, extra luxury hotel
Now here we are talking about one of the finest resorts on the island. What are you after? Secluded quiet areas or fun ones? Piano bar? Pool or a day at the spa? Nice rooms and good food, must visit.
The lobby bar is excellent, well trained and polite staff, good service, cozy atmosphere.
Luxury and friendly staff. What more can you ask for?
Excellent and luxurious hotel. Service staff specially room cleaning us amazing. Excellent choice of restaurants and 2 steps away from paceville.
It is a relatively quiet location in Saint Julian's adjacent to the casino. If it is out of season, you can stay at a reasonably low price.
The shower is stationary. I feel the oldness of the equipment to some extent, but it is 5 stars. There is a rather big supermarket called Arcadia about 3 minutes on foot.
Very caring staff, well located hotel and spacious rooms.
Amazing, best hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff were brilliant, our room was very spacious and the food was faultless.
Friendly staff, especially the bartender and pool staff.
Luxurious and perfect location both for swimming and getting about
We had a great vacation and really enjoyed the hotel with the great sea, the sensational view of the sea and its service. Thanks for that.
The suite was very large and spacious, the sea view of the coast of Malta was a dream.
Unfortunately, the house is not in a uniformly renovated condition on every floor. The lower floors are still 90s.
Tatjana, the Guest Relations Manager, does a very good job for this. We were very impressed with how much passion she struggles to keep her guests happy. She has a very good relationship with her guests and feels when something doesn't quite fit.
Recommendation: If problems arise = contact Tatjana and she will find a solution.
This is exactly what I expect from a 5 star hotel.
Everything was given for us. Thank you The Westin, thank you Malta!
I'll tell you my experience. I arrived at the dragonara hotel on Saturday with the desire for a relaxing weekend. I ask for a deluxe room with sea view and initially they place me in a ground floor room with a palm view. After complaining they apologize for moving me to a better room.
I wanted to use the massage center, all full when I arrived! And I discover that closed on Sundays the service in a 5-star hotel is suspended!
Full Monday so no massage!
Not to mention the restaurant, indeed the restaurants ... no one had warned us that on Sundays in a five-star hotel they are all closed, so we returned to the hotel not knowing that we could not have dinner, or rather they equipped a wing in the lobby where they cook but to say the least not congruent with a five star hotel.
I strongly advise against it, the gym is smelly and to go to the indoor pool you have to walk through the entire gym with a bathrobe.
Especially not recommended for those on a weekend considering that Sunday is a hotel without services.
One of my favourite hotels. The team and the service they provide is unparalleled, and the concierge team truly does all they can to help their guests. The on-site restaurants offer a great selection of high quality food. The outdoor/pool beach area is so great, with direct access to the Mediterranean. Plus, the views from the rooms will take your breath away. Highly recommend.
Perfect ! Nothing to say or complain . The hotel, although welcoming families (in these holiday times) is on the high end (the price also shows).
Beautiful, well-kept rooms (probably recently redone), comfortable bedding. In short, our junior suite was top notch. Impeccable and discreet service, a few original attentions like this relaxing lavender oil applicator.
We tested the Palios restaurant (yeah), the one in the hall which allows you to eat on the go (correct) and there Terrace (place of breakfast) which has a formula on Saturday evenings and Sunday lunch at the top (For 38 / pers children under 11 do not pay).
The breakfasts are pantagrueliques! And there's something for everyone.
So we had a very good stay in this hotel which has a fitness room, 2 swimming pools (indoor and outdoor) and a nice access to the sea.
Grazzi to the whole team!
Currently we are using the pool of gym of the Westin as external guests. It is a little bit small for a good training experience but enough for some swimming in the morning.
Great price per value hotel with a central location.
Excellent breakfast. The renovated rooms are very nice the others are decent. Indoor and outdoor pool. Good location. Too expensive
Child friendly, clean. If it should go back to Malta, then this hotel again.
A great hotel ... an exceptional treatment and very good facilities..recommendable 100x100 .. especially Maria (Galician) who works there and helped us a lot their indications and their professionalism .... the waiters, receptionist etc behaved of cinema with our kids ... thanks ...
Great location, lovely rooms, friendly and helpful staff
Service at the bar is Maximum 3 Star if at all.
Reception provided me at Check-In with a voucher for the bar, timed by 2.
Catch 22 ....in small letters it says the voucher is valid only for 1 person. What a mess. I am a gold member.
Very spacious room very well arranged I highly recommend if you have the opportunity to take this hotel
Rooms are very nice, with beautiful views of the sea. The hotel offers many facilities and has very friendly staff members.
Such a pleasant place with a premium feeling of a 5-star-hotel. Big and comfortable rooms, rich minibar, marvelous sea and pool view from the rooms if you have a room with a view. Friendly and helping staff. Liked the food a lot, delicious! Casino is just a few steps away. Has a kids clubs. You can easily walk to the city center of Saint Julians and the bay area - 10 minutes.
This is the only hotel in Malta with the interior in the English Gregorian style, which looks like five stars, and not the business hall of the airport or the Scandinavian hotel booth! There is no old-fashioned design in Westin Dragonara Malta! Very cozy and comfortable, stylish hotel!
Wonderful buffet. Just the right thing to celebrate a special family occasion during the holiday period. Lovely service. Varied menu where everyome including the pickiest of eaters can find something.
Great place, food and service is great as well.
Location is perfect
