The Westin Dragonara Resort Malta Review

Hotel price is average, not as good as Westin, like a four-star hotel

They told us there were two casinos, but that this was the best and we left. Nice casino, very friendly staff, explained everything very well. In addition, luck smiled on us. Good way to start the year.

I truly felt like I was visiting family that wanted to make our vacation special! The staff was excellent and so attentive. I have traveled all over the world and have stayed at other Westin Hotels and the staff here I Malta was by far the best! Md and my husband hax an excellent honeymoon tha is to this caring g and attentive staff!

Excellent hotel with everything you need and in a great location to find nearby restaurants, shopping or enjoy the nightlife of Malta!

Only place to stay. Great views of the ocean, indoor pool, gym, tennis name it they have it. Staff is amazing and so is the food.

Love this resort for the direct sea access, also great for snorkeling.

I take away a star because we were by the sea and neither of the hotel's two restaurants had offered us fresh fish.
Everything was frozen and not up to the hotel standards.
Having said that, very nice hotel and I recommend it!

Quite pricey to go swimming when 1 of your children goes diving there. 18.00 without use of the swimming pool, this is only for hotel guests

One of the worst experiences I ve ever had. I d never visit a Westin again and would never recommend it to anybody.

Spacious rooms that smell like a wet basement. Sheets, bath robes and towels have moldy smell. Outdated furniture that match the smell and the overall feeling in the room.

Great location and fantastic service. I had good stay at the hotel and used their spa which was great. The gym is a good size and the few restaurants on site cater to all tastes. A nice way to spend your holiday in Saint Julian's.

The hotel is a little aged and it shows in the rooms. Everything is in good working order just old furnishings and fittings which bring the marks down.

Second year on a row to the Westin Dragonara on Malta. Again we enjoyed our stay at this fantastic hotel. Easy to move around to Valletta, Mdina and Gozo by taxi or bus. Lovely Maltese restaurants in direct neighbourhood such as Gozitan and Gululu. Free WiFi at hotel. Different shaped swimming pools but many bayside areas that allow dive into the sea.

Place is stunning. Room are comfortable. Rules not at same level. In a summer location we were having bath at 6pm, we wanted to drink something in pool area but bar was already closed (too early) so they gently invites us to go at the bar in the hall. We went over but we were wet folded by pool clothes and they said we could not enter with summer costume. For 500eur 2 nights.. this is not exactly what I aspect in LQA standard in order to satisfy clients request.

Excellent structure with beautiful rooms and very comfortable beds. A stone's throw from restaurants and small shops.

The hotel was great, clean rooms, great staff and great views from the pool/lounging area.

One of the best hotels in Malta located in the busy area of St Julians. The hotel is ver popular both to stay in and also as a centre of important events. The food and the service are great and the ambience is one of a kind. There is an underground parking and also swimming facilities.

We booked a ten day stay at this resort and paid in full in January. Then we had to cancel due to Covid-19. The resort made us wait for 90 days to get our refund. This is unacceptable, so the family won't stay there when we all return to Malta in 2021. Don't get screwed like we did. We recommend you book your vacation stay at another more respectable and honest resort.

One of the best Hotels I ever stayed in. I'm talking about a perfect room, amenities, and service.
Augustinas gave us amazing recommendations for the city and the whole country.
The location of the Hotel cannot be better, they have their own bay / Beach / water access. It's very very close to the must-see going out area. The bus which stops right in fron of the Hotel brings you right to the capital Valetta in less than 30 minutes. You can also walk there in about 1 hour if you want.
The Pool area is very nice (actually 2 separate Pool Areas). You can order drinks to your umbrella via WhatsApp, which is very convenient.

A beautiful hotel on a beautiful island with excellent service! Large choice of watersports, private beaches, private cabanas, poolside and sea side drinks! I could go on and on. The breakfast at Terrace Restaurant was awesome with an incredibly large selection of delicious food choices. Dining at Quadro was excellent. All things considered, you won't be disappointed in this hotel!

A bit on the expensive side but accommodation and service are of the expected 5 star level and more. The building and surroundings are gorgeous, in all making this one of the best hotels on the island.

Beautiful location with a great view. Our taxi driver said it was one of the best properties on all of Malta. When I first walked in, I thought he was right. In general, Public areas have been wonderful. Service has been great. A talented pianist plays in the lobby. And the views are idyllic. But after ascending to the guest floors, my opinion has changed. The actual rooms are rather dated and the nightly rate seems excessive. It definitely does not look or feel like a category 5 hotel. There are many areas that need repair (even if just cosmetic). The gym is packed. My friend and I are both Platinum members and so we had breakfast in the executive lounge. The food was average and included a limited (albeit crowded) selection of basic breakfast items. The pictures online make the property look like a picturesque location for a holiday. While it is a beautiful location, had I known about the dated experience I would have, I would have spent my money on holiday somewhere else.

We came to the reef club for a day with our baby. Parked in the underground parking at the hotel and bought the 80 pass for 2 of us with vouchers to use at the bar. Everything seems perfect but then we ask if we can rent some towels. Apparently due to Corona!? We cannot rent any towels. These will be only available for hotel guests... So I had to make a run to buy some towels in Paceville. I must say, I did not expect that from such a good hotel. That's why you get a 3... No info about your can't rent a towel rule when we called to reserve a spot.

Very good hotel.
The rooms are spacious and new, with bedding of very good quality. Very nice breakfast buffet, with a huge selection and quality products.
The gym is large and very well equipped. The pools are very nice and clean, both the indoor pool (heated to ideal temperature) and the outside.
A cozy bar, with very good cocktails, which also offers a very nice restaurant service. The portions are gargantuan: eat an appetizer, a dish and a dessert is reserved for big eaters!
Last but not least, the staff is smiling, helpful and very pleasant.

Poor hygiene, no vacuum for one week, no change of sheets, cups with detergent, sour towels

Wonderful holiday resort in Malta, highly recommended

Place needs a reno but more importantly need to improve their room service or lack of. I'm have stayed in many hotels and this one is the down there with the worst. Shame that everything else, location and service is good just not the keepers.

Very spacious and beautifully situated hotel. Luxurious rooms with optimum room service. Very friendly staff. The breakfast selection is large. Everything is there to ensure a pleasant stay.

Almost 200 euro a night and you charge for WiFi. For this alone you get 1 Star. Oh also water only free if you are a member of some club. Way to make you feel welcome.

I liked it everything is clean and organized.one the that it was rediculous is that when you arrive for check in they want Euros 50 for each person as if you have anything from the room bar and we were 6 persons it means euros 600 .I thing in this situation of covid 19 and there were no people in the hotel is too much when we have paid euros 180 per person per night.
Please revise these nonsens.

Beautiful grounds! Nice staff! No water! Seriously, it s hard to get water at this hotel. But the hotel and its grounds are just beautiful. Also have an awesome dive/technical dive shop. It s really rare to find a resort dive shop that supports advanced and or tec diving. We stayed in the 7th floor, unfortunately directly below the lounge so it was a bit noisy early in the morning.

Very nice hotel area in the immediate vicinity of the party area. Swimming is also possible in the sea. Pool area was very well-kept and clean. Parking garage in the garage possible. Staff was very friendly and accommodating

First time here for international conference, I was very impressed by friendly staff and nice lobby. My room shows a marvelous sea view. I like this hotel!

I've stayed at many 5 star hotels which often fall short of expectations. I can honestly state that the Westin Dragonara excels in all areas. Superb location and amenities and staff that are very attentive and pleasant. Will definitely come back

To be the most luxurious resort of the place, the prices at least of the bar are very normal. We only saw the first floor, and you can see why it is one of the best

My room smells like a basement. It s 1am, and I m having trouble sleeping after a 3 hour flight ( and a 5-hour dental appointment ) because the covers and sheets smell and feel like a wet basement.

I feel like I need a shower being in this room. This was totally unexpected from a hotel with such a good reputation.
