I love the Co op only place I feel home. Always greeted and associates are so helpful. Food is grown local, organic, lots of essential oils, vitamins that are plant based. That is my one stop shop. My children love being apart of the kids club free fruit Everytime we go.. better than whole foods trader Joe's Walmart everywhere. Only place I truly like spending my money. I commute 30 mins there at least 3 times a week. Well worth it

I am in the vulnerable group with respect to the virus and showed up this Tuesday at 8:00 to shop at The Wedge on Lyndale. I am concerned that I ran into numerous problems with social distancing in the store. People were simply not keeping apart from one another, often passing me shoulder to shoulder. My first clue that things were not secure was when three of us were allowed to enter the store directly adjacent to one another. There were clusters of shoppers and employees in the bulk area, making it impossible for me to secure items I wanted without being in proximity to others. I ended giving up shopping in the bulk area. Even as I maneuvered down isles, I ran into employees stocking shelves, sometimes making it impossible to keep a desirable distance.
This is remarkably different from my experience at another store last week, and I am disturbed that the Wedge has not worked out a more effective arrangement. A friend of mine has just revealed that she got out of the Wedge as quickly as possible. That was my reaction, and I am intending to put off future visits unless I know things have changed to better protect people like me.

They did a great job with the remodeling. It's more spacious and bright than it had been in the past. I like to get my produce here and rarely have any fruit or veg purchased from there that isn't great. The store tends toward what is in season, though you can buy a lot of standard produce as well as the exotic. Watch for the co-op deals! It pays to check the website ahead of time. The staff is helpful but not over the top (you can browse undisturbed if you choose). There is a hot bar and a selection of grab & go items. It's on the 4 bus line and not far from the 2 and the 17. The bulk aisle has some hidden gems, so it's worth taking your time to look around. The prices on some things are higher than what you'd spend at a chain, but you get what you pay for and you have more opportunities to buy local/fair trade here.

Poor interaction with an employee. Teach the young ones a thing or two about customer service, please. If I ask that an ingredient not be added to my smoothie, I dont want to hear "oh you'll hardly taste it." ... I paid $7 plus taxes to get a smoothie that burned my mouth! Not going back.

Great selection of natural and organic foods. Their bulk section is well stocked with interesting lentils, legumes and grains. Plus they have a nice selection of loose leaf teas. I would not however recommend the Gluten Gree baked goods in the deli. They're disappointingly dry.

ALL the pros outweigh any cons of this place. They are super busy which does make parking annoying. But what do you expect in Uptown? I mean - come on...
They can be pretty expensive, but in all honesty and fairness, their prices are better than or equal to any other places rates for organic, local anything.

I used to frequent The Wedge when I lived in the neighborhood and things were better financially. They have an amazing bakery, vegan options, cheese section, meat section and produce. But what I really wanted to put out there was one experience in particular I had yesterday. I walked in to get a bag of bulk oats for $0.89/lb, having a lot of time, but very little money to spend (things have been rough since I had my baby 6 months ago), I was on my way to the food shelf in uptown that doesn't open until 5:00. But I saw a sign that says they accept Wic checks. I thought-there's no way they have all the Wic approved items...
But I checked and lo and behold, they had Wic approved eggs, milk, juice, produce - So I got out my checks and started shopping. They had everything I needed, except the one brand of Wic-approved black beans was out. Having a can of garbanzo beans at home already and a husband to feed who won't eat any beans at all except black beans, I asked customer service if they had any more in stock. She went to check and got a store manager to come check things out, who helped me find everything else left on my checks while we waited for her to come back. They were totally out of that one kind of beans, but they were so set on getting me helped out they just let me get a different kind and had a cashier override it for me.

THEN - The stupid oats I originally came in for messed up the purchase (Damn WIC for being so damn picky and complicated). The whole time they were trying to figure it out, they were so helpful, patient, kind and not once did I feel judged for using WIC in the first place, which happens all too often. I wish I'd thought to get their names, but they know who they are. I hope they read this.

To the staff at The Wedge - THANK YOU!!! <3

Lots of options for a small store. Shopping here doesn't have to be expensive. Most of the produce is competitively priced. Just some things to stay away from. Coffee bar is well priced too! Cheaper than most and super good. Plus there are deals all the time. Great spot.

grass fed red meat - meat section is on point almost all the time - street traffic is horrible though - and if you go during the summer there's always hippies having a concert outside, so bring the family.

The wedge has a very good variety of different and unique products; the staff is very helpful and friendly. They have some of the most educated folks when it comes to supplements because they continuously educate themselves on their products. I really enjoy shopping there!

Many thanks and appreciation for your caring skilled team

I was staying in Minneapolis only for a month but that was enough to fall in love with Wedge Co-op. An amazing selection of local products and ready-to-eat food. Everything that I tried there was so delicious (chicken pot pie, corn cheese chowder, chicken pesto quesadilla, almond vanilla granola...). I also loved that I could buy as much flour, sugar or organic coffee as I needed, not a 2lb pack I'd have never used during one month. The staff was always very friendly. I'm going back to NY now and I will really miss this store. It makes me want to move to Minnesota :) thank you for building this community, you're doing an outstanding job!

A great neighborhood grocery store that emphasizes local and seasonal products. I love the hot bar addition with the remodel. Friendly, helpful staff. Some of the products can be really expensive but if you are a member you get a discount and you can also look for the Wedge Basics tags for items that are priced lower.

Love the Wedge! High quality products. Helpful staff. Always discovering new and interesting foods and products. More expensive than major chain grocery stores, but the produce, seafood and deli are not too expensive, while maintaining high quality! Worth the cost.

I have been a member for years and have shopped here since the 80's when it was in the old former 7-11. My favorite co-op in the Twin Cities. Lots of bulk items. Plenty of organic choices in every department. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Be sure you stop in and see the new remodel if you haven't been in for awhile.

Great food, terrible experience. I have been going to The Wedge for years. Tonight, a manager named Kevin literally chased me out of the store, because he refused to acknowledge my clearly labeled service dog as an official service dog. I disagreed with Kevin every step of the way, and he assured me he had relatives with a service dog and condescendingly asserted that he knew the law and could ask me to leave. He vaguely mentioned the term ADA, and I encouraged him to produce any form of these vague rules he was citing as grounds to kick me out. There was a security guard standing next to us for the entire interaction leading up until 10pm when the store closed and my partner met me at the door and we left, with Kevin passive aggressively locking the door behind us with at least a dozen customers still inside.
I brought my service dog with me when I signed up to become a member, and recall absolutely zero foreshadowing about how there was apparently a significant likelihood of a "Manager on Duty" named Kevin with a Trump complex harassing me, as a member, with unsubstantiated, baseless accusations, which he then refused to allow me to refute. Apparently, I dont look like someone Kevin thinks deserves to have a service dog. He told me he had family members with real service dogs, so obviously my presence, with my service dog was an affront to his family and he behaved as if my existence was disrespectful, which I, now back in the comfort of my home, find to be hilarious since he was, at the time, disrespecting me with his harrassment. I enjoy the quality products at The Wedge, but might see how the nearby Aldi compares since I have never experienced any such harassment there.

Rude humans working here, and it s a total rip off. I mean, even by coop standards this place is expensive! People who work here are just SO judgmental... There's a reason that this is the most profitable coop in the country...

Great bulk items and reasonably priced. Great produce and meats, priced pretty high. They do offer 10% discount and reduced membership for low income. Lots oh hippies, but they smell good.

If you are new to the Co-OP world check out the Wedge! You do not have to be a member to shop here, but there are benefits to membership. Additionally, the prices on many things are very reasonable for everyone, there is a great bulk section, and the hot/salad bars are great for a quick, tasty and affordable meal.

I love this store. It's always clean & has a friendly atmosphere. It has an excellent variety of unique food items, prepared & packaged. Also, many organic & bulk choices. Excellent meat & fish market. Very nice selection of cheeses too. And don't miss the bakery, coffee shop & fresh produce.

I wish I had a Wedge Co-Op where I lived. Went to Minneapolis with my wife to visit the city and sister in law. She introduced me to the Co-Op. I absolutely love the place! The organic food selection was amazing. Friendly staff available to help if needed. Large variety and selection of food and coffee. Bottom line, this place is awesome!

I give one star because couldn't give zero.

I really dislike this place. It's a pricey, crowded, organic, impolite environment.
Don't go there!!!!
Bunch of hippies.

Still a tight parking spot, but, always manage to find a spot. Walked in and found an avacado holder,....ya know the kind you can put that other half in so it doesn't spoil?
BONUS!!! Grabbed some hempeh and hempseed bread and out the door. Always a nice place to stop in anytime I am in the area.

The Wedge is one of my favorite stores in the Twin Cities and the only place I've found where I can pick up a quick gluten-free bakery treat that actually tastes good! Great fresh variety of produce here too, and a bulk spice heaven.

We've been hoing to The Wedge for decades, and the keep getting better and better
Produce is fresh, mostly organic, with much variety in choices. Often good at introducing new and different types of veggies and fruit to customers. Fabulous hot table with many choices. Their in-house bakery is fantastic.
