great place. pleasant people great place to taste jelly and jam that you would not have tried but they did taste great .
Excellent, if you want to take a trip back in time. Great cheese, candy, sauces for free tasting. Great stuff you didn't know you needed.
Go! This store is a real treat, full of interesting, quality goods you actually want to buy, from clothing to kitchenware to linens and bedding. Try the cheese deli, as many variations of cheese as you can think of, all free to sample. Same with the candy store. Such a fun day out
Amazing place...Good to find all kind gift, kitchen stuff and home made soaps ,delicious cheese, maples syrup and much more.
It's like taking a step back in time! Worth the visit!
A two story amazing store with lots to find! Something there for everyone!!
It's like taking a step back in time for the good. Love it.
Awesome store, hope one opens in Northern Vermont!!!!
You know, Weston is in the middle of nowhere. You could literally put an atomic test site between it and the nearest town because it's so isolated. I have no idea how they made the decision to put up a store there, but it's pretty neat. They have sample of some of the best cheeses and dips I've had. I especially liked the raspberry mustard pretzel dip. It's quaint. Like your grandma's house with a price tag.
Destination General Store - go if you love Vermont General Stores. Go if you want to buy clothing made in USA. Go if you like nostalgia and toys from your childhood. Go if you love candy. Go if you love to sample; jellies, dips, relishes, salsas and cheese. The home goods department is lovely as is the apothecary...Bring some money and make sure you eat at the Bryant House or Mildred's Dairy Bar.
What a wonderful town and store! Everything you could need or want. Local products, products your family used and loved from way back. Staff is friendly and informative. Take the time to visit all the wonderful stores in Weston.
Such a great store to visit and the employees are so helpful and friendly!
Nice place to walk around , taste test and drink a Moxie
This place is a fun way to spend a half hour or so browsing but beware the steep prices. I was especially surprised to see that a shopping bag cost $7.95. And that is NOT a sturdy cloth one, just a paper/plastic one the grocery stores sell for a dollar. Free advertising for the store too. Would have stopped at one of the little maple farms I passed after I stopped here for my maple products had I known about their overcharging. It's really a tourist trap but back in the 80s it was much more budget friendly.
Welcoming... something for every room in the house.
It s a great Country store and bring back some memories, love some of the old style five and $.10 stores.
I receive the catalog for this company but the visit during my vacation was so much fun. They have all kinds of candy syrup clothing vintage games cookware and cookbooks. It is worth seeing.
Expensive! But fun! So many things from today but the things you can't find anymore, that's the real treasure. Bring your money though, it adds up.
Cool place filled with cool things. But a bit pricey.
A must stop for nostalgia shoppers. We try to go yearly. I shop and my husband buys coffee and sits outside on one of the rockers and it is a great people watching place.
Great customer service. Funny and welcoming staff.
Delicious cheeses, cookies, and candies! This is a fun place to visit and play with all the fun toys and buy tasty snacks.
Huge variety of items. Great for gifts, stocking stuffers, and party food
Love this store. Pricey but well worth it. Try the Sallye Ander milk & mint soap, Naked Bee lip balm/lotion (grapefruit flavor), Rehydrate facial moisturizer/ Restoratif facial serum (these two are made especially for the Vermont Country Store), Olive Salad with jalapeno, plus tons of kid gifts. You should spend a minimum of 3 hours here!
I loved visiting the store ! It was like walking back in time and nostalgic feelings. Great asssortment of articles and fun delicious candy from my era. Thanks Vermont Country Store...
Loved this place. A huge store for all gifts and provisions. They had all sorts of samples to try for dips, jams, cheese, fudge etc. Difficult not to get tempted by all the lovely things.
Akways fun place to visit and find items from the past. The have items you didn't even know you needed. Wonderful store.
Total tourist trap but worth stop at least once. You name it, they have it and most of it with a vintage New England throw back vibe.
Love it...we live in vermont but always take any one who comes to visit us there and its always a big hit...love all the samples
Long wait, tables not cleared, obvious they needed more staff.
Great place to stop on your journey and pick up some local foods (Coffee !, soda, milk, Bacon, Ham, etc.) as well as check out the area. Staff is always polite and professional.
Large country store full of clothes, games, food, etc. It is simply fun to just walk around and browse. With authentic Vermont products and souvenirs (although pricy, but that s to be expected in a store catered to tourists). They offer many different food samples, including cheese and maple syrup. Whenever we come to VT, we love to stop here.
There is also an ice cream stand outside as well with a delicious maple creemee
Well worth the stop!
A great store and worth visiting while being in the area!
My wife enjoyed shopping after getting their catalog for many years. Great collection of clocks at the antique shop up the street!
Very slow Service on a known to be busy weekend day. Food to go was good.
If your going for the day and want to eat there make your reservation BEFORE you go in to shop. Wait time for a table ran an hour and fifteen minutes! They have everything there but if your low on cash go to the shop across the street first. It was definitely a blast from the past. Well worth the hour n a half to get there from Qbsy NY!
Love this store, have olde time items you can't find in other stores.
This is an overpriced tourist trap. Think of the store inside a Cracker Barrel and up the prices.
Love it the store has everything you could possibly imagine
I love this place and the high quality goods they have. They have brands you can't find anywhere else. The Vermont Country Store is a must stop if you come visit Vermont. Plan on spending some time in the store because there is so much cool stuff.
Great selection but prices are a tad high on some items. The country store across the street has some nice stuff too and some items are cheaper.
Great visit! Nice selection of items. Lou was a big help, fun to talk with. Thank you Santa for my 'Santa's Nice List ribbon'!
Iconic store. Lots of food samples snd local items. On the expensive side. Friendly though. They know they need tourists.
Many wonderful things with many made in Vermont, New England and USA.
All the samples are delishes, and selection of clothing are beautiful! Must see
Wonderful place. It's a must visit . A travel back in time.
Years ago I would have given this place a 5. Still has the overpriced clothes & kitchen products. Also nice assortment of different types of lotions & things if your into that. Old toys that aren't easy to find but the food is where they are lacking. We always went for the different jarred items & spice packets etc but they no longer have half of what they used to sell. Different brand also. Looks like they changed suppliers & vendors. May look like a country store but feels more commercialised. I was sad.
This place is huge and has a tremendous amount of merchandise. You will see stuff here that you used to be able to get years ago and thought it was no longer available. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I have been at their locations in both Weston and Rockingham in different years and have never been disappointed. Dining at the Bryant House next door to the Weston store is recommended as well.
Always fun to stop - and shop - here. We visit every year.
A nice place to get a sense of the uniqueness of VT and a bit of its charm. Love this little store...the restaurant is good too!
Fantastic, nostalgic, taken to a place back in time.
Awesome place to visit if you are looking for special things. Plus good restaurant on sight.
Yeah it's crowded during the weekends but it's still a great store that will always have you leaving with something. Best part about it though is the spread Samples. On a cold winter day no better place to go than the Vermont country store!
Sweet shop where it is fun to browse and taste and of course also to shop. Very attractive design with attention to detail.
Step back to your youth. An amazing place to visit, find some of your old favorites from bygone days as well as many Vermont crafts & treats in this traditional Vermont country store setting. Also, great dining options.
Neat place to shop. Pricey but worth it. Had a great burger at the restaurant next door.
Amazing! Great products, atmosphere, I love it here!
Always a good stop while in southern Vermont. Lots of delicious cheeses and dips to sample, huge candy section, lots of toys you can't find anymore, huge selection of warm clothes and blankets, and obviously a big selection of maple syrup
Over priced tourist trap selling slave labor Asian products as if they were USA country artisans.
Lots of cool novelty stuff, but very over priced. Take pictures of good ideas and then shop Amazon
Love the Vermont country store. All kinds of wonderful things to buy for Christmas and presence. Cheeses candies toys cookware all kinds of things to look at. Old school toys. Definitely recommend
Long line but moved quickly lots of old stuff that's hard to find old time candies and real fudge made with cream not condensed milk
