A unique shopping adventure with something for everyone. You'll be sure to find some tasty treats from fudge, pickles and cheese. Old fashion candy, old timey toys and decorations galore. I enjoy the bath and body products section for great smelling soaps!

Prices are steep but if you visit once a year like my family does, it doesn't hurt as bad.

So much fun to spend some time wandering around here. The items range from practical (outdoor gear, cleaning supplies) to whimsical (holiday ornaments, toys) to delicious (awesome cheese selection and specialty condiments, most of which can be sampled!). If you're going around lunch or dinner time, make a reservation at the restaurant next door, or stop by first to get on the list and then visit the store, since the restaurant fills up fast.

Both stores and the mail order are all wonderful! We go up there a few times a year. The products are such fun and such high quality. When I was a teen I was obsessed with Lemon Up shampoo, and couldn t believe it when I saw it in the store! This place has something for everyone, and makes for an excellent day trip for everyone living in New England.

Wow. I miss the traditional restaurant with waitresses, etc. Now it seems more like a fast food joint... You know, get in line to order food, pickup food, and walk to tables to eat. It's not the "destination" fo et shopping and a nice lunch like it used to be... But, that is my opinion... Judge for yourselves...

Wow, this is a very special general store and it is huge. You can walk from one room to another and see more and more magical items. I especially love all the old fashioned games that brought me back to my childhood. They had so many including Etch-A-Sketch, tin wind up toys, color-forms, etc. The delicious samples of jellies, cheeses, and dips is an added treat. They also have some beautiful clothing such as knit sweaters, hats, and mittens and so much more. You could spend hours strolling and reminiscing in this store and if you have a gift to buy for someone who you whom can t figure something out, come shop here!

I like the Vermont Country Store and visit whenever I come to Vermont. Prices on some items have gone up sharply but there are still bargains to be had. Be sure to check out the nook of the store where they sell fudge. Yum!

So much store, so little time. Huge store jam packed with unique finds. They carry a variety of clothing, kitchen items, furniture, food, pet productd, candy, toys, camping, personal stuff and household things. Too numerous to remember it all. Worth a visit

On a spectrum between small cozy homey gift store and whole foods, this is somewhat on the way to the latter. Many non-food items are maid elsewhere, many food items would have enormous amount of sugar of them. Prices are sometimes exuberant and the quality can be good or can be merely barely ok.
Also they are doing good and donate to local causes. The stuff is passionate and excited about the place and the work they do. IFor sure, it's worth one visit.

Definitely suggest you go at least once. It's a very cute store, with lots of little things and treats to get for yourself or as gifts. Their cheeses are delicious, as are their chocolates and truffles. Come hungry!

I've been coming here almost yearly since I was 13, 23 years ago. Every time I go I expect it to get old, and yet it never does. The free samples of dozens of cheeses, dips, spreads, and fudges is worth the trip. There's a huge selection of penny candy and much fancier confections by the pound. It's probably also the only place where you can still try on your bloomers before you buy them (I'm guessing). They specialize in old fashioned products that are hard to find anywhere else, including toys.

Yay!

Awesome place! Great for tourists. Everything is great quality, but you pay for it. Check out the catalogue for what types of stuff they sell. Fudge and cheeses are incredible. For Vermonters, 10% off on Tuesdays. Check out the sale section upstairs.

What country store in Weston what can I say you walk in and the first thing does is Nostalgia brings you right back to your childhood with Penny candies and you can smell the fudgy Wako that a large assortment of fudge they have toys that were from the the fifties and sixties hit the duplicate toys of what they were but the store has a lot of this down here they have pictures of the family that got all Vermont and it just keeps on going and going looks like a small little stove for the front and just goes back and back and back one of my favorite thing was the Cheese room they have a wide assortment of different cheeses from all over and then Vermont maple syrup I did not know how many different types of maple syrup the was that went to the Vermont Country Store and sampled them

Meh... tourist trappy by my thinking.

Meh... tourist trappy by my thinking.

Lots of assorted stuff... some overpriced like $10 refrigerator magnets... tour buses and crowds even on a Thursday noon-ish visit. I doubt it is patronized by locals. But perhaps a good place to satisfy your curiosity.

The store really has Vermont vibe and majority of items there are made in Vermont. We tasted many maple syrup types and the price for them was good. The store also have a big variety of locally made cheese which is very delicious but pricy. We also enjoyed tasting of local fudge ( several varieties). Really worth to stop buy to get a local gift or to buy something for yourself or just for tasting! Very lovely atmosphere!

This place is a Vermont institution. They have transformed quaint Vermont country style into a financial Emporium. The store has a lot of unique and nostalgic items that before the era of Amazon, you would have trouble finding. Nowadays, however, you can likely find them cheaper elsewhere. The place is worth a visit for the atmosphere and food samples alone, as is the small but charming town of Weston where the store is located.

This place offered samples of various food items as well as other selectons. And not just a few. The shelves were stocked to almost overloaded. The items reflected some of the old time staples of eras past. For an old guy like me it was like a walk down history lane. Youngsters also enjoyed the store because of the diversity of the products offered. I'm sure we will go back again. Good job.

Hasn't changed a bit since I was last there, maybe 20 years or more ago. We spent 3 hours straight there, without stopping for a bite to eat and had no idea we were there for so long. It was tough not to buy out the whole store, there are just so many amazing options and memories from when I was a kid. We'll be back!
