The Vermont Country Store Review

A great country . I was there for the first time last weekend. I want to go back soon. You can not see everything in one visit. Parts of the store bring back war memories. The staff is great and very helpful. I cannot say enough to about how great this place is.

Plenty of goods, from clothing, antique toys to food. Definitely worth stopping in.

Great store filled with happiness items from your yesteryear and candy fudge and cookies and the food stand out back by the four way swings is incredible best grilled cheese out I've ever had and the Wilcox's ice cream well its some of the best in the world yes the world Hey its Vermont home of the cow

Huge selection of quality products, but very crowded on a Saturday... go on a weekday!

Talk about flashbacks from childhood! It was amazing to see so much stuff from when I was a kid. They also have all their cheeses and dips for sample before you buy. Employees are so friendly and helpful! I'm so glad I went!

A must stop in southern Vermont. Can be crowded and chaotic especially around the free food sample area. Lots of vintage and nostalgic items. Only giving three stars as quality of linen items has decreased (thinner) and in general a bit pricey.

Always have so much fun! Great cheese, dips, and pepperoni samples. Got Christmas gifts for our grandsons. So much to see.

So many things on display. It can take hours to completely see it all. Food sampling is encouraged. Some of their prices are high, but you may find something you can't find elsewhere.

Awesome store to explore for hours. Memories of when you were young in the 50's - 70's. Memories of Grandma's kitchen. Cheese, Cookies, Maple Syrup, Penny Candy. Toys, Clothes, Kitchen Gadjets, Bathroom Stuff. Beat you cannot escape in an hour...

This and the bookstore in Manchester saved our rained out ski day. Kids loved rummaging through knick-knacks and filling bags with (inexpensive) candy. You can probably find anything in this store somewhere else for less money, but you wont have more fun finding it. Classic VT Country Store.

It was like a trip back to my childhood. They have food, toys and products that I didn't know still existed. They were well prepared for COVID safe practices which contributed to a relaxing afternoon.

4* and not 5*? Prices are a little bit high but I seemed to end up with quite a bit of fun stuff.

Mildred s Dairy Bar next door was a good value. I ordered Mac and Cheese and for the price I thought I might want more food so ordered a Kayem Hot Dog to go with it. The Mac and Cheese would have been sufficient. Sadly, no room for ice cream .

Omg how amazing, this is a must see. You will be over whelmed when you see inside. It's like a TARDIS...

This place is AWESOME. It's a museum and store in one. If your are not able find what your looking, either it's not made or you didn't look hard enough. And then there is the FREE samples, enough said. If you never been YOU MUST GO, if you've been here, then it's time to go back.

This place is AMAZING! Definitely worth a visit - you can sample mostly everything! Food samples galore - cheeses, crackers, dips, pretzels, fudge, and more! Most toys even have a display toy that the kids can play with. My son and I ate and played for over an hour - and then bought A BUNCH of stuff to take home! haha

Overwhelming but lots of free samples! Similar stuff as the catalog.

What a great experience. Has lots to offer for the complete family. From the great retro toys to the hand crafted cheeses. It offers so much. There is even a full service restaurant. The retail items are a bit over priced but just about what one shold expect. The store is a quality place offering quality products.

Tourist destination with tour bus parking. Psst, they have public restrooms. Great selection of darn-tuff socks.

I was here back in January 2012. We went in thinking it would be 10-15mins of browsing and buying one or two things...and an hour and half later we walked out with a ton of candy, knick-knacks and other stuff, and that was after putting most of the stuff we wanted back on the shelf.

It is worth it to come here just for the nostalgic items from being a kid (and that includes childhoods from the 1940s through the 1990s)

Looks small until you go inside and it's huge! Lots of neat finds..

Refunds take three weeks! Extremely long period of time! They tell you they are running behind without reason and when asked they claim to be conservative! Shouldn't take a week after they receive item to issue refund !

Great variety of interesting clothes, toys, housewares, food in a huge store. Lots of food to sample. Don't miss the bargains upstairs!

A quaint piece of Vermont. Every corner had some new vermonty surprise to experience. The house branded maple syrup was very tasty, don't leave without a jar of it!

The VCS in Weston is delightful. I have been going there multiple times a year for all of my life. It has a unique atmosphere that is unmatchable by any modern or even boutique store. It reminds you of a past time featuring obscure and odd items that only add to the fun. They have an amazing selection of food which all are sampleable. It is possible to eat an entire meal there just by sampling everything they have there. Their candy is also a highlight. Just grab a brown paper bag and fill it up with candy old and new. If you ever wanted to revisit a different era or relive your childhood this is the perfect store. I highly suggest that anyone driving through southern VT visit as it is a completely different experience.

We visit every year. Cheese and crackers & sausage samples for lunch!!

So much to choose from but a little on the pricey side.

Do not go in October unless you REALLY enjoy lots of people

Fun step back in time for toys, candies, kitchen supplies, dishes, and much more. Two great locations Weston and on the road to Bellows Falls. Take your dog too, he's welcome. Good place to eat too.

Very nice set up, even through the quarantine. Prices are a bit high, but that's expected at a touristy place.

My girlfriend and I try to visit at least twice a year, but with this virus "craziness", we only will make it there once this year. As with many shops these days, there was a long line to get in. The wait wasn't too long, but it was sooo worth it!!! I spent waaay more than I had planned, which is normal for me anyway. And they have some things that you just can't find anywhere else!!! (I loooove the sheepskin seat belt cover that I found there!!! Sooo soft!!!) The only complaint that I do have is that they should make smaller amounts of their chocolate creams that I always get... or maybe mix some up??? I had to buy four different bags to get all of the ones that I liked. And no chocolate chocolate creams!?!? Darn it...sigh!!!

Great variety! Little disappointed that they were out of Halloween Cat decoration, but had guy tell me he wasn't allowed to put out any more so they could accommodate the magazine orders!

I make sure I stop here whenever I'm in VT. This store is chocked full of things you can't find elsewhere. Clothes, household goods, jewelry, toiletries, toys, food, cheeses, candies.......just love this place!

Interesting. Some of the candy is stale and otherwise available elsewhere at half the price. Lovely clothing but made in China.

This store has all the things that you look high and low for all under one roof. It has games you played in yr childhood, and things you would find in your grandma's kitchen.

Place is really cool to see, but when we went on a weekend it was PACKED! Could barely walk haha

I can t figure out why they are so popular. Tons of stuff here has nothing to do with VT nor was it made there. I think they lose a ton of money in free cheese and fudge samples.

A MUST visit! This place was a great hour of great fun! Sooooo many good samples! The cheese and dips and fudge and knickknacks! So much great fun! Tons of kids running around having a blast. We were there much longer than expected and loved every second. Old style penny candy and lots of maple syrup to try and buy. If you re in the area you should absolutely check this place out!

Really neat place. Lots of unique items. Some of it is a little over priced but not by to much. The edible goods are by far my favorite.
