I was so excited to visit here. We got there about 430 on October 18th. The ice cream place was closed next store so we went right to the main store after stopping at the for sale shed out back. We have a 4 year old and at the same time we arrived a large bus of senior citizens arrived. My son was not acting out I am not afraid to say if he was but we ran into two incredibly rude customers. They seemed extremely bothered that there was a child here. The first was a man about 70 years old and was bothered that my son was looking at the cork guns while he tried to walk down the isle and made a comment under his breath. Then about ten minutes later a large woman almost barreled my son over and was rather rude and said get out of the way as she went rushing by to leave. I understand customers can t be controlled but they feeing we got was that this is not a place for children. After that we went in the clothing section and began to smell what we thought was manure. No big Deal my brother raises cows but the smell got worse. Like a lot worse. Then my thoughts were it must be chicken manure which smells worse then cow manure but again my brother fertilizes with it not a big deal I figured there was a farm near by and again thought it was out of there control. I pay for my items. $110 for a raccoon hat, a tiny terrarium, maple butter a few candys and a sling shot. Very expensive in my opinion but my choice. While this is all going on the line is getting long because they shut down a register and were directing people too the clothing register. Unfortunately that s where the horrible smell was coming from. When we finally left, the door we entered through is now closed and locked so we are forced back through the stink to the door near the clothing register. That s when we realized what was going on. We walked out the door and there in front of us was a septic sewer truck and another septic company van. Now I m not a rocket scientist but the smell was raw sewage. I don t no if the septic tank overflowed or a line ruptured but it was fowl.

In summary this place was the least family friendly place we visited it s expensive and it smelled like literal sewage.

Coming from Texas, the Vermont Country Store was a fantastic experience. They carry commodities that especially made for them that I have never seen from another store. I bought a Sierra Pine Bar Soap there which smells good.

Great Shopping Experience

Great Shopping Experience
This is a great place to stop and check out. The place is loaded with all kinds of cool things. There really isn't much they don't have. There was all kinds of old toys, games, food, candy, and clothes.

Many years since I had last visited this store, and this time I was very overwhelmed with the COVID-19 rules. I understand that management has little say when government takes over. What I can say was after listening to the front door greeter I lost all interest in going inside, but being with my family we all masked up and entered. While in the store everything was overpriced, and very empty of customers. I was concerned about can I pick up an item, and I too close to someone, only one person in check out at a time etc. The overall experience of shopping is gone not just here, but everywhere. So sad to see we now live like this.

Everything you have seen in the magazine and much more plus the opportunity to taste and sample all the cheese, fudge, dips, crackers and cookies. Overwhelmed with so much to take in. Loved the cooking gadgets.

GREAT place to shop! You can find things old and new, you can spend all day at the penny candy shop alone. Not to mention the cheese and cracker and dip shop. My personal favorite is the jewelry and women's clothing shop!

This is always one of our favorite places to stop.if they don't have it here you probably can't find it anywhere else or you don't need it! Always a lot of fun things to explore inside the Vermont country store. You'll frequently see a lot of cars that have traveled hundreds of miles to get there. That's a testimonial to that store.
