We went on Wednesday attempt to walk in around 5:30/6. At first you wouldn t even know that there is a restaurant since theres no sign. The only sign is literally a "Pink Door." Was told there where tables availabe in 20-30 minutes. Their system sent a text to our phone when table was ready. The restaurant has such a great vibe. Warm and classic. The server was extremely tentative to our needs. Came by mulitple times asking how things were, etc. We ordered the lasagna and liguine alle vongole. Lasagna was super light not super heavy. The linguine had ton of clams. Best part was the sauce which you could dip the complimentary bread with. Overall, great atmosphere, great service, great food. Highly recommended!

Pink Door was okay Italian for the price point. We went during Labor Day weekend so I could understand this restaurant having better service when it's not Seattle's busiest weekend of the year.
I got the dungeness crab rissotto and the 3 meatballs. Rissotto was bland and they do not have salt and pepper at the table. The meatballs were really good portions and seasoned well.
Great atmosphere and service. Marsala was okay, vegetables that come with it were awful(tastes like they just soaked in cooking wine, not edible), lasagna was really good (added some meatballs on the side), got the mussels and clams as appetizer and the sauce was amazing. Flourless chocolate cake was okay but super strong in flavor. Ice cream was very very good. Enjoyed myself but there are a few improvements that could be made but overall I would recommend.
The pink door is one of the few places which lives up to its hype. If you are visiting Seattle add this place to your list! Reservations are highly highly recommended as these guys get full pretty fast. I have been here twice so far and loved it both the times. The decor is beautiful it's perfect for a date. It's quite dimly lit too. They have live music till 10pm everyday which just adds to the vibe. Both my times here the service has been amazing! Very attentive and extremely accommodating. I wanted to order their whole fish cooked with beans, but they were out of it. So I got something else, but then they gave me the fish anyway for free! It was huge but still because it was smaller than the ones they were selling throughout the day they didn't think it was fair to charge me for it! That's really thoughtful and generous! Apart from the whole fish, I would highly recommend their lasagna, bolognese and their scallops. They keep tweaking their menu so you might find different items every time. My one small suggestion is to keep the tiramisu on the dessert menu permanently! Go here for celebrating something or just for a nice dinner. It's one of the gems Seattle has to offer!
New favorite vicinity!!! Good meals, properly vibe, brilliant location. Post Alley is the cutest hidden gem at Pike Place. I had the pappardelle balognese and my pal had the pink door lasagna. The pasta became actually made clean and it became sooo right!
We went on the early side (4 pm). The decor was artsy and view towards the water (from our dining spot) was so open. The service was very attentive and the waiter was friendly, explaining the menu. The signature lasagne was delicious, pappardelle smelled divine. The Caesar salad and green salad were fresh from the owner's garden. Everyone enjoyed the desserts, which were not the ordinary offerings of most places. For us, the best we're the apple tart and chocolate boobi cake. Seattle's full of good restaurants, yet we may go back again tomorrow!
Enjoyed the menu, however the authenticity was seriously lacking. One would expect a $100 bill to pose more true Italian wine offerings or even a well-prepared buffalo mozzarella - but it didn't. Whole catch of the day (An Alaskan Rock Fish) was properly cooked, but lacking any true flavoring - also a poor choice to serve as a whole fish as it has many, many small sharp bones. Prosciutto was nowhere near expectations. My date had a clam and mussels in cream dish that reminded me again why I opt out of purchasing frozen shellfish from the supermarket. Lastly, our Moscato di' Asti (a Sicilian favorite for mid-day/siesta) was authentic, but seriously overpriced for it's quality. The restaurant was compact, seating was poor, and service was hindered by the crowd. Would I go back? Not if you paid.
This was such a cool spot, I was in Seattle on business for a quick couple of days, this amazing restaurant is right on the post alley, there is no sign on the outside just a pink door, the food was excellent we had the summer risotto and linguine alla vongole (it was so good!), we a beautiful view of the bay, the service was great, really cool interior decor and design, prices are pretty darn reasonable, only thing is if you don't have a reservation you will have to wait for a long time. Everything there was perfect!
A great place for a date and some personal time with the family while enjoying delicious food. I've been here twice and will go back to try something else next time.
Let me start by saying great staff. From the door to the waitress, everybody was so friendly and helpful. Our waitress recommended fish of the day and it was big enough for two and was delicious. Good wine pairing as well. BTW there is no sign for the place. Go through the pink door
We decided to go here to celebrate my friend's birthday because she said she loved the food here. The online reviews seemed pretty promising and we love trying new places, so of course we were all about it! The experience was a disappointment to say the least. We didn't plan our visit during a burlesque show, so my review is strictly on our meal and the related experience...in January.
We arrived on time for our rez and were seated immediately. The tables are incredibly close together in an attempt to jam as many into the room as possible, but it really didn't impact the environment for us.
Before we even ordered drinks, a server carrying food to another table dropped a plate on which promptly splattered through the back of the wooden chair and onto my back...an abrupt "sorry about that" from him and it was forgotten - could it be that the tables are so close together there's no room for the servers to move about safely? I'm thinking yes.
High points of our evening included: the oysters, they were delish; the drinks - the pink madonna hit the spot for me; and the garlic bread - good, but not great.
We got our food and everything looked stunning, I was so excited to dive in...and then I did. I ordered the seared scallops, which tasted great, but were cold. Because the taste was good, I decided not to send the food back and end up with double warmed, almost certainly worse off scallops. At this point I was prepared to give this spot 3 stars, because things were good, but not great.
Then my friend shared a shrimp from her cioppino with me and the chef had failed to devein the shrimp even slightly. Lazy and gross, but worth sending back? Nah.
Then my boyfriend pulls a bone out of his mouth while eating the risotto. He wrote it off as a mishap, but our friend mentioned it to the server just to make the chef aware of the hazard, specifically stating that we don't expect them to do anything now that we've eaten everything. After Alexandra disappeared briefly, she promptly returned to tell us that the faceless manager disagreed with my boyfriend's assessment that the fragment that he pulled from his mediocre risotto was bone, and in fact the piece was bread crust. Really? Because you can't tell the difference between a bone fragment and bread crust when it's in your mouth? There's a right way to handle things and a wrong way, and whoever this faceless manager is, s/he obviously lacks competence and/or just plain doesn't give a damn. To add insult to potential injury, we were sent out cookies as a "sorry," which of course contained nuts - after we had made them aware of my allergy - and some bits of chocolate for me - gee thanks. Who serves cookies with nuts in them to the boyfriend of the person with an allergy? Someone who doesn't think or doesn't care. They would have been better off sending nothing - just like we requested!
If no stars was a choice, I'd go with that. But the one star I am giving is for Alexandra, the server who was put in the awkward place of telling my boyfriend that the faceless manager says he's a liar. Awkward for us, awkward for her, and completely inappropriate. She was great considering the circumstances.
All in all, the service was good, the management is atrocious and absent, and the chef is obviously doing something wrong. We came here with the intention of checking it out for warmer days and maybe planning a visit during a burlesque show with friends from out of town...but honestly, I'd be hesitant to return.
The food was good. I had the pork osso and it was tasty. The wine was ok. There was a wait but they just text you when ready. Server was nice, but you can tell they are rushing.
The restaurant has no sign so you need to look for the pale pink door when you re walking down Post Aly. We happened to walk past at 4:00 when it opens and got in line that moved quickly. We didn t have reservations but we were seated right away on the patio. We were just going to get appetizers, but ended up getting the mussels, too. I don t like clams, so they left them out. We had the Bruschetta and the small Antipasto. Everything was delicious. We left at 5:30 and restaurant was getting full, so I recommend going when they first open, or be sure to make a reservation. The service was good.
One of the best places I have ever eaten in my life!!!!! I am still craving this food months later!! Outdoor patio and cocktails are also to die for!!!
Nice outdoor seating Good Service Caprese was as good as what you can get in Italy Cioppino was light and refreshing Risotto w crab was disappointing, can barely see and taste crab Prices were typical for Seattle I am a return customer and recommend this place but make sure you reserve way in a
The highlight to our trip to Seattle. Delicious food, excellent service and beautiful setting. We were advised there would be a 20 minute wait for a table (popular place) but after only 15 we were seated on the outside terrace and had placed our drinks order. The service was fast and friendly; our orders came quickly and always with a smile. Combined with a beautiful sunset this dining experience was a great way to end our trip here, I'd eat here again tomorrow if only we were staying!
I received the worse reception from this restaurant. We just wanted to eat with friends and my family because of my wife s birthday. However, the male with ball head person, his attitude seemed that he did not want us to eat in the restaurant. His attitude and behavior and his tone wants us to leave. What kind of receptionist was that. I thought the receptionist supposed to be a nice and qualified person who could receive their customers with smile and leading us to be in their restaurant, but NOT with this place. He treated us totally different with others. If you see the guy with ball head, be cautious and see if he treat you differently. I would not keep him in my restaurant if i am the boss!!
Expected so much more after reading all about this restaurant. The story behind it is such fun, the inside was interesting, we had a table by the window so could watch the hustle and bustle of Pike's Place below us. Waiter was good, food was, as we discovered all over the Seattle area, OK, certainly not bad, but definitely not outstanding.
As always, the best in Seattle. Food Fabulous. Service amazing. Atmosphere Special and like no other. Food you will just have to go there. You will not be disappointed and be planning when you will be going back .
This is a great cozy feeling place with AWESOME food and drinks. A bit on the pricier side. It gets crowded and is difficult to get a reservation. Definitely worth it tho. Really great drinks!
Great food, ask for specials. Their food is excellent, but surprisingly their house wine is terrible, it is from Italy which one wonders why?, When so much good wine in Washington and so much less. And they serve their wine in small glasses which compounds their bad wine, and cheapens the experience. Great entertainment if you can catch it when is performed, but bring your 2ine or pay a lot for it
We stopped in here after finding it by accident, so glad we did!
Decor was great, really fit the area and felt inviting and open. The Menu felt authentic and Drinks were tasty and creative. My wife really enjoyed the rosehip to my lips. The service was impeccable, our waters were never less than 3/4 full. Very attentive service.
The staff were very accommodating as we had 2 newborns and strollers and allowed us to move to a more out of the way table when one became available, to allow more privacy when breast feeding.
Food was quick and portions were good - not too large, which makes me feel like I am paying for food I can t eat!
I have been wanting to go to Pink Door for ages! But never managed to get a reservation. Decided to do a walk in and wait it out. This is located in an alley next to Pike Place Market. It could be really tricky to find since there are absolutely no signs with the name on it. The entrance is literally just a Pink Door leading you underground. Lucky for us, our Uber driver knew exactly where this was. It was a Monday night so we waited for about just 15-20 mins and got a table. Being a Monday night, there was a Trapeze artist performance which was really good! The overall ambience is classy and romantic. For starters we ordered the Crostini.. a bit pricey.. cost us 13 dollars for 5 pieces.. but very tasty! The risotto seemed to be the most popular dish on yelp; we ordered that and found out why. It literally melts in your mouth! We also ordered the special of the day, Tuna in salsa verde. The Tuna was great; however, it was cooked on the outside, but raw-Sushi style inside. Tasty but wish they had told us about it being raw inside. We might not have ordered it had we known. We weren t really in a raw-fish state of mind. The prices are well above average, but totally worth it given the quality of food and added entertainment provided here. It cost us around 87 dollars for the entire meal; inclusive of a carafe of house wine.
Overall this place is a hidden gem. Definitely want to come back someday on a Saturday to catch the Burlesque show! It s a perfect spot for a date night given the ambience, entertainment and food!
We were able get an open table on a Saturday night when the restaurant was packed. Despite the crowd, the service was attentive. We ordered wine, grilled octopus,Caesar salad, branzino-style fish, and scallops and polenta. Everything was delicious and it was a romantic evening.
Best Italian food in Seattle. Homemade noodles in the bolognese dish. Their lasagna is to die for. And their deserts change seasonally, are always amazing.
Pink Door is fabulous, and one of my favorite restaurants in the city. It's not often I'll eat Italian food out (mostly because I feel like I can make a better tomato sauce than most) but Pink Door is an exception.
If you're walking by, you may mistake this as just another door in Post Alley BUT, if you know what you're looking for you've come to the right place. As soon as you enter you're greeted by scrumptious smells of Italian food that you've been long anticipating. The bottom of the staircase opens into an elegant, romantic dining room with wood finishes.
The food here is so dang good. I love that it's not only vegetarian friendly, they don't just half ass the vegetarian options by frying everything in flavorless batter. Even the non meat options are well thought out, have a depth in flavor, and so delicious (I'm hollering at you, pesto!).
I can't tell you what my favorite is, because I've never repeated a dish here. I love how they incorporate PNW flavors into their daily deliciousness.
Here's a tip, if you see anything truffle, it's a must order! Finish off with a cappuccino because it's just what you do.
If you come on the right night, there's a trapeze artist and burlesque show. I'd suggest coming on nights there's a performance.
Delicious food Awesome atmosphere, the staff was there but not to invasive, I ate at the bar where they serve the full menu. I got the 60 dollar steak and potatoes ( price varies) and my friend got the pork ossobuco. Both were very impressed. Hats off Pink Door!
Sophisticated cool and a little quirky. Understated luxury. If I want to low-key impress someone I'd bring them here. There's no signage, just a pink door entrance in one of Pike Place Markets many alleys. Make reservations as the restaurant is smallish. There's a certain feeling of exclusivity due to the size and I loved it. Our seats overlooked the north end of the market and it was perfect. The cioppino was delish and the butternut squash risotto was rich and buttery. It was difficult to decide what to order. Go there! You'll love it!
There weren't any online or phone reservations available, but we came in at 5:30 on a Saturday and was seated immediately. I got the seasonal eggplant pasta and it was amazing, and a friend got the ragu bolognese. I thought it tasted like Chef Boyardee, which I am not a fan of lol. The cocktails were good (I got a seasonal Pimm's cup) and service was great. Good date place!
I've been here twice now and can definitely say I'm a fan of their food. The atmosphere at night is perfectly warm with a teeny touch of class. If you want to eat here, and you should, be sure to make reservations WELL ahead of time. At least four days ahead. I also want to mention the subtle art of service has been perfected here. The wait staff is knowledgeable and professional, never smug or overbearing. I think this place does it right, but wouldn't be what it is without the mysterious Post Alley location that allows for the "hidden" appeal this place plays on so well.
My most recent visit was with a group of friends in town from Miami, each with their own tastes. First with the drinks! One of my friends got an absinthe-based drink with a small plastic monkey hanging from the glass, which I thought was funny and creative. Their house wine comes in what looks like a hybrid beer/San Pellegrino bottle and is a generous individual serving. I had a G&T with Big Gin, which is Seattle based (and tasty). Overall, the drinks are nothing to rave about, but they do get points for creativity.
The soft bread comes out with olive oil that will absolutely knock your socks off. It's herb infused and incredible. If you want to spring for the nominal extra charge, give their balsamic vinegar a try! It is aged and has depth of flavor and a kick like you've never had before.
Appetizers came and we tried the calamari and la fettunta (grilled garlic bread) and while the garlic bread was great as expected, the real surprise treat, perhaps even star of the meal, was the calamari. It was prepared in a way that none of us had ever had and the quality of the meat was tender yet smooth, not spongey and slimy.
I've tried the bolognese and the caesar with prawns so far, and both were excellent in their own right. The prawns were garlicky, peppery, and seared to my liking. The bolognese is a total win, if you can't decide which pasta to go for I would say it is a safe bet. I also got to try a bit of the lasagna, which the house claims as their signature dish. It's easy to see why when you taste it for yourself.
...and then there are the shows! Sun/Mon they do trapeze shows right in the restaurant, I was lucky enough to catch part of one and found it very entertaining. They have burlesque shows every Saturday where you can have dinner starting at 9 and the show starts at 11, but it's first come first serve. I have heard the venue is small but the show is great. It is still on my short list of things to do in the city.
TL;DR Great Italian food, would recommend for out-of-towners. Just make a reservation well in advance! On a Sunday/Monday ask to be seated with a view of the trapeze. There is a burlesque show Saturday nights, invite me if you get tickets because I've never been.
This place is gorgeous, with beautiful views of the waterfront. I loved the eclectic and quirky decor. The food was great. Definitely save room for dessert. We couldn't see any trapeze artist because we had an early dinner, but I'd definitely want to go again to watch them. The price point was good too. 10/10.
Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time. We had to book 5 weeks ahead to get a Saturday 7pm reservation. The menu was not extensive but the food was good. We got an amazing view of the water and the Ferris wheel. The lighting was soft and romantic, which was perfect because we were celebrating our anniversary. It was really busy but our server was attentive and made us feel welcome. All in all, we had a good time here.
I love the ambiance. It's like a speak easy restaurant and they have shows on Saturdays. All the entrees we had were really good. The lasagna and risotto were absolutely amazing.
Amazing atmosphere. Delicious food. Fun drinks and bartenders. Really cool acts. Perfect for fun night out, date, drinks with friends. There is a resident tarot card reader named Eugenia who is a Seattle treasure. Highly recommend this place!
My girlfriend and I are just college kids from Missouri and so we saved up for a nice meal while we were in Seattle. We decided on the pink door and enjoyed it a lot. They slipped us in quite quickly after a reservation canceled. Our waiter was very nice to us even though we clearly had no idea how to dine at such a nice establishment.
I went here for our 5th anniversary night, reserved a table 1.5 month in advance. Nice ambiance and good food. Their lasagna is awesome. However our server was rude and unprofessional. I being a vegetarian asked him to suggest some good option, he got upset about it, I don't understand why! He frowned and then his opening comment to it was, "Well! Let's see if we could do something vegetarian!" I've been to Barolo and they have equally good food, better wine collection and great servers.
We have friends in town that had heard of the Pink Door. A restaurant in an alley, with kind of an old time speak easy vibe. This place is very cool. The Alaskan halibut was amazing as was the pizza. A fun place definitely worth checking out if you can find it.
