We had a party of 6, and not one of our steaks was done right. Although the wait staff was pleasant and warm they did not do anything to make this right. After calling a few times we did not even get an apology period for $50 a plate it should be cooked right. I hate to tell them making expensive does not make the food taste better regardless of what they think

My wife and I enjoyed the perfect getaway experience for our 45th anniversary at Gorham's Bluff Lodge. We were treated to gracious hospitality, delicious food, pampered service, charming proprietor, comfortable and esthetic rooms thru out the lodge, and absolutely the most breathtaking views. This has been one of our most memorable anniversary experiences. Thank you Dawn, Dakota and all the staff for treating us so special. Looking forward to coming back.

We booked a place for our wedding which was nearby. We booked this place in Nov. and our wedding was not until May. We called about a month out to confirm our reservation and they had sold the house we were staying in and never notified us. I tried calling multiple times but no one answers the phone it took over 2 months to get a refund. I would recommend never doing business with this place. This caused a lot of stress on me and my wife during our wedding time and they honestly seem to care less. This is the most poorly run business I have ever dealt with.

This is an amazing vacation experience. We went to Gorham's bluff for our one year anniversary, and I was planning on proposing. I call the lodge and spoke to Dawn. She was so very helpful and with her assistance, I was able to plan the PERFECT proposal dinner. We didn't stay at the lodge, we stayed in one of the cottages (Blue Spring). It was cute and comfortable. We spent so much time relaxing on our balcony or on our back deck. The lodge was beautiful and clean. All of the staff were kind, helpful and courteous! If there was one "complaint" (but actually ended up being a good thing) it's that there is very little cell service, and the cottage we stayed at did not have internet access, but it did us good to be unplugged on the weekend of our engagement! If you are looking for an amazing getaway with a slower pace, do yourself a favor and visit Gorham's Bluff! I can't recommend it enough!

Went to Gorham's Bluff for our 1st anniversary of dating. Didn't know my Guy was going to ask me to marry him. The staff assisted him in creating a wonderful memory, with flowers, tablecloth, cloth chairs with skirting, a photographer, personalized menu with our names & the date. It was simply Awesome.
The next morning we had our breakfast delivered to our cottage with a smile.
This place will forever hold a place in my heart, with the beginning of the next step in our lives, the views, the quite relaxing atmosphere. the hospital & amazing memories!
Love Love Love!!!

The view from Gorham's Bluff gets 5 stars as it's quite impressive but the natural beauty is the only positive thing I have to say about this place. We stayed 3 days at the Evans cottages which was a little worn and exhibiting water damage in the ceiling and in the kitchen floor but still very comfortable. However, there was virtually no room for food items except in the fridge. It's clearly designed for only a couple.

Because we were staying longer, we had to move the Greek Revival cottage, which has only half a kitchen and is NOT designed for people planning on cooking for themselves. This is a major problem as there is no nearby restaurant except the Lodge, which has a good, if somewhat limited menu. The Lodge itself also showed signs of a lack of maintenance. The back deck on the Greek Revival had wooden planks that were very worn, warped and the nails were popping out in several locations. Also, there was no indoor dining table. There was an outside table with 4 chairs but with the high humidity, that made eating outside uncomfortable. Thankfully, the air conditioning in every location worked well!

Despite issues with maintenance, the rooms were comfortable. However, the single biggest drawback is that there is nothing to do around here. Several, but not all, cottages offer bicycles and there is a small swimming pool and playground but that's the extent of the activities. There is a short trail along the bluff but one of them is a long wooden walkway that is in serious disrepair. The nearby town of Pisgah (and all other nearby towns) lack any meaningful facilities. This is not a place designed to handle tourists. A pity, since the Tennessee River is at the bottom of the bluff with a large gulf that could be a place for water activities but there is no quick route to it, nor did I find anything nearby when I searched for boat rentals.

All around are signs that this place started well and there was a serious investment in its infrastructure but it hasn't been maintained in many years. The playground is overrun with spider webs and the wooden planks are starting to split. The benches are worn, broken, not kept clean and not repaired when needed. Also, bring DEET if you plan on exploring the nearby woods, they swarm with mosquitoes and ticks (3 of my 5 family members brought ticks into the cottage - thankfully no one got bit by them). All in all, I won't be coming back unless I intend to stay inside while viewing some very beautiful landscape.

Outstanding experience on our wedding anniversary! Food was delicious, the setting is beautiful, and the hospitality was superb
This is a hidden gem in the mountains of north Alabama that people need to discover and enjoy

The Inn Keeper was wonderful. Stephanie took good care of us. The food was good and the chief made every effort to satisfy our taste. It's a shame the owners are letting the place go down hill. A lot of financial help is needed to make repairs and do upgrades. Daily room cleaning is required and is not being done. I would not go back under the Inn's present condition.

One of the most serene places in the world. The staff was friendly and helpful. The view was breathtaking. The food in the dining room was, without a doubt, the best I've ever had, and it's not just dinner, it's an experience. Overall, if you're looking for a place to get away from everything and relax, in a beautiful quiet place, this is it.

I really have a mixed review of some good and some bad but the bad is enough to keep us from going back. My first impression of Gorham's Bluff was the nice staff, beautiful room, and amazing view from our porch. The food and coffee was excellent and I loved the snacks, icecream, and soda that's available in a guest refrigerator. However, our dining room table was very shaky and we finally had to move all of our things to another table. There were no napkins (we had to steal from another vacant table) and there was also a bunch of crumbs on my chair that I had to remove myself. The hardwood floor in the dining area was also very dirty. These were all turn offs during mealtime. Although our room was nice, the bathroom was surprisingly small. I had to shove myself into the wall or side of the tub in order to have room to close the door. We also had the bad luck of staying at the same time as extremely noisy and disrespectful guests who kept us awake until well past midnight. When we brought this to the attention of the innkeeper the next morning, she was more defensive than helpful making it a point to tell me she'd never received a complaint like that before. Had they offered us something to compensate for the over 3 hours it took my husband and I to fall asleep, perhaps we would've given it a second shot. But instead we were offered nothing and paid full price for a very noisy and unpleasant night. For the money they charge, the customer service definitely should've been better. We are disappointed to have to be disappointed in such a beautiful place.

The view and location are relaxing and spectacular. The B and B has six rooms. The top rooms are suites with large hot tubs and remote control fire places. The staff is friendly and the food is outstanding . The lodge is fairly priced and is actually a bargain.
Renee the chef is a magician. If you can't stay a week , the meal alone is worth the drive. This is our favorite B&B of all time.

Absolutely perfect retreat. So beautiful. The Lodge overlooks a gorgeous bluff. Views are incredible in every direction. Our room was amazing and so pretty. The bed was super comfortable. The cottages are adorable that dot the landscape before you arrive at the lodge. We ate every meal here and they were FABULOUS. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were beyond delicious. Even the box lunch was super yummy with fried chicken tenders, potato salad, and a pasta salad. All of this with the chef s unique twist to every menu item. Nothing was as expected and far surpassed expectations. I highly recommend Gorham s Bluff for a little getaway and some relaxation time.

My wife and I regularly stayed here on New Year's Eve. About 7 years ago, we had a reservation for an overnight stay. As we were getting close, and after we dropped kids off to their grandparents, I called to verify fish or steak for our meal. The receptionist advised we had no reservation and they would not accommodate us. She then admitted my credit card was charged for the room but there was no place for us to stay as they had overbooked.
So, we went back and picked up my children from my in-laws and drove to McDonald's and then home.
I previously left a negative review after this event. To this day, no one at Gorham Bluff has apologized or expressed any remorse for this major foul up.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary this past weekend with a trip to Gorham's Bluff. I had heard about it on a local radio talk show, and I was thrilled to find this retreat. I will start by saying that the drive through Pisgah, AL was a nice change of pace, with multiple crop fields and livestock. Once we arrived, we were met in the lodge dining area with the map to our cottage. We opted for space and privacy over the view from the lodge. We stayed in the Greek Revival Cottage, and it was very easy to find and very charming. Sure, some paint is peeling on the outside, but that didn't bother us one bit. The living room and kitchenette were cozy, the wifi was complimentary, and we appreciated DISH TV. Upstairs, the bedroom was lovely, and we admired the aesthetic so much that we may copy it for our own bedroom! The corner of the bedroom does have some obvious water damage in the ceiling and a little on the walls. I would hope and assume that the roof leak has been fixed, and the inner repair has just yet to be tackled. That being said, it did not blemish the experience for us whatsoever.
We ate breakfast and dinner at the lodge, and we both enjoyed our selections very much! For breakfast we both chose the pancakes with maple butter, and they were delicious! The maple butter really made them special. At dinner, we brought our own champagne we drank at our wedding (this is a dry county, and you must BYOB) and chose different meals. Both meals were a delight, and the sunset we were met with as we arrived for our meal really made the whole experience one of a dream. Even on an overcast day, the view from the lodge is stunning and so serene. We have a six year old and a ten month old at home, and the peace and quiet that Gorham's Bluff gave us was exactly what we both needed.
At the end of our stay, my husband and I both agree that we must return in the future with one of our couple friends and go exploring the trails.
THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!!

Our experience was wonderful! Our room had a beautiful view, it was comfortable and very clean. Chief Renee is truly gifted, the food was soooo good. The breakfast came with grilled trout-made by Thellda, also an excellent cook! Tommie made us feel so welcome and provided great information. We have already made our reservations to return in the fall.
