Great visit just for both of us. Our guide Fiona kindly guided us into the distillery. Note that they are very responsible, the driver can not participate in the tasting end of visit but he leaves with a small bottle of Legacy.

Had a wonderful tour & tasting here at the beginning of July. Fiona was our guide and by the end of the visit she felt like an old friend, such was her warmth, kindness and friendliness. But, being Irish, she certainly has a grand sense of humour as well, so it was highly entertaining to listen to her banter with the lads in the distillery. And, in addition to that, she seems to know just about everything going on in and around the place, so we were very well informed about the distillery's workings. The 6 dram tasting at the end was a joy. It seems to me, from the Legacy onwards and upwards, Tomatin is now producing honest, faultless malts that are just such great value you'd be mad to overlook them. The 18 offers such incredible bang for your buck and just picked up a double gold again in San Francisco a couple of months back. Very highly recommended!

Lovely place. Tour guide great. The two ladies on the tills let the experience down, keen to take your money and then dismissed you, I even had my card just skid across the counter to me followed by my receipt and then nothing. Very poor!

We went on the basic tour and was brilliant. The guide was so good and explained everything so well and fitted in so much. Tasted 3 whiskeys at the end. I'm a brewer and was really impressed with all his process explanations. Highly recommend!

Definitely recommend. Visited some distilleries while in the Scottish Highlands, but here we got the best tour (even if we arrived late almost at closing time), a quick tasting and even some suggestions about what to do in Inverness and surroundings. Big thumbs up for Tomatin distillery and its team, especially for Charlie who gave us the tour.

A proud independent distillery. The tour was really interesting and our guide Scott was extremely knowledgeable having done most of the jobs in the distillery himself.

The tasting room was the biggest highlight of our visit the walls of the entire room were lined floor to ceiling with hundreds of samples of single malt.

Unfortunately we didn't make it on time for the tour but members of the staff were quick to offer us a viewing of a video on how the distillery works despite being minutes away from closing. Great customer care!

We've been on a weeklong whisky distillery tour throughout Scotland and we can say this is hands down the best distillery tour we have been on. Hedy was the most amazing guide any whisky lover could wish for. Her tour was so much fun, informative and we also got to know some parts of the whisky distillery we never saw on any tour before or after. The distillery itself is not as touristy or flashy as others but nonetheless it would have been a shame if we didn't visit it. The whisky itself is delicious as well but that is is a subjective viewpoint. Keep up your good work!

If there is a distellerie to visit, this is it!

If there is a distellerie to visit, this is it!
Excellent welcome, complete tour of the distellerie with clear and precise explanations.
During the month of August the distillation works which is really very interesting.
In addition, it is the only distellerie offering a fermentation tank cut laterally which allows you to enter it!
Price more than correct (8 ) for a full hour tour, with final tasting of 3 whiskey or a small bottle to take away for drivers.
Excellent whiskey especially Cu Bocan which is out of the ordinary and which I recommend

Thanks again for the welcome :)

It was a nice tour, we got to see more than usual, unfortunately the young lady couldn't answer all of our questions. The shop itself is very small, but there were 5 different whiskeys to fill yourself, I thought it was very cool, mostly there was only one

Family friendly even for babies that are carried.

At he end we sampled 3 very different whisky types. A young blend, the 12 year and the smoky. From an inexperienced whisky taster I learned a lot.

We finished with buying our own "bottle your own" where I was able to try 3 more samples. We walked away with a great family experience with our 4 month old and a nice bottle of scotch!

Great experience, Ken was an awsome good tour guide, made it a fun and interestind time, with jokes and insight.
Learned a lot and all my questions were answered 120%.
Ken really goes the extra mile.
And the distillery is beautiful, with history. And their whisky is very nice, went and raided the shop after as you do.

We had an interesting and informative tour, our guide and all the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Our guide did a particularly good job engaging with all of the kids on our tour (six boys!) and I think that made it more enjoyable for everyone.

Barbara was a fantastic tour guide. We were greeted immediately by warm and friendly staff at the Tomatin Distillery. Such an interesting tour and tasting in the Highlands. We learned so much about Scotch whisky and this small company. It really is a way of life.

The little village and gift shop are awesome - loved seeing local art from repurposed oak barrels - very cool.

One of the best whisky tours and tastings in the Highlands with a great staff! Thanks

Undertaking the descent already to Edinburgh, it is interesting to make a quick stop at the Whiskey distillery in Tomatin. I give it 5 stars because if you do not want to spend money at the entrance to the tour through the distillery they offer you a small explanation through a video in the language you want; After finishing the video they offer you a little explanation and tasting of one of their whiskeys. They have a store, where a perfect detail for someone who likes whiskey can be a small bottle of 50 cl, which vary the price according to the kind of whiskey you want to take with you. You can buy a small bottle from 5 pounds.

We did the Taste of Tomatin tour with Fiona as our guide. Fiona was an excellent guide and gave us plenty of time to take photos throughout the tour. We got the taste across the core range: Legacy, 12, Cask Strength, 14 port wood, 18 and Cu Bocan. You have the option to take the Tasters away with you if you prefer, which is good for those driving etc.

After the Tour they have a very nice shop and 6 Distillery Exclusive single cask whiskys available. We ended up of a bottle of the Oloroso which is fantastic. Would Highly recommend the Tour, even for those that don't drink Whisky.

About The Tomatin Distillery Co Ltd

The Tomatin Distillery Co Ltd is a renowned Scottish whisky distillery located in the heart of the Highlands. Established in 1897, it has been producing some of the finest single malt Scotch whiskies for over a century. The distillery is situated on the eastern edge of the Monadhliath Mountains and draws its water from the Alt-na-Frith burn, which runs through its grounds.

Tomatin's collection of multi-award winning highland whisky is known for its exceptional quality and unique taste. The distillery produces a range of whiskies that cater to different tastes and preferences, from light and fruity to rich and complex.

One of Tomatin's most popular products is their 12-year-old single malt Scotch whisky. This whisky has won numerous awards over the years, including gold medals at both the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) and San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC). It has also received high praise from critics for its smoothness, complexity, and balance.

Another standout product from Tomatin is their Cu Bocan range of whiskies. These peated single malts are named after a mythical Highland hellhound that was said to haunt the village of Tomatin many years ago. The Cu Bocan range includes three expressions: standard edition, limited edition, and rare edition. Each expression offers a unique flavor profile that combines smoky notes with fruity undertones.

In addition to their core range of whiskies, Tomatin also produces special editions that are released periodically throughout the year. These limited-edition bottlings are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike due to their rarity and unique flavor profiles.

Tomatin's commitment to quality extends beyond just their products; they also prioritize sustainability in all aspects of their operations. The distillery uses renewable energy sources such as hydroelectric power generated by nearby dams to power its production processes. They also recycle waste materials wherever possible to minimize their environmental impact.

Overall, The Tomatin Distillery Co Ltd stands out as one of Scotland's premier whisky producers thanks to its dedication to quality craftsmanship combined with sustainable practices. Whether you're an experienced connoisseur or new to Scotch whisky tasting altogether, there's something for everyone in this exceptional collection."
