Best distillery visit there is. You can take pictures all the time, which is not available anywhere else. The leadership takes a lot of time. The whiskey is highly recommended.

Great experience. Ken was very knowledgeable and made it a great experience. best distillery so far
It is a distillery about 20 minutes by car from Inverness. There is a tour and you can explore the historical facilities. How to make the process and fermentation, how to make barrels were very helpful. You can enjoy it without knowing anything.
The staff need to be a bit more enthusiastic about whiskey
The guy who made the guided tour super nice and tasting even better. At the end of the visit you can take a picture with the barrel of the year of your birth / anniversary, etc. If you find it.
Fiona our guide was amazing, funny, professional and just an all around perfect presenter! Tomatin does a very nice tour with many standard distillery content and much unique! For example, this distillery is privately owned and by a Japanese corporation; some employees with decades of relationship longevity. The quality is inherent here. You will be stimulated and entertained by the lovely staff and down to earth facility, which is quite professional and of high capacity. In complete honesty, top shelf whisky and the best distillery tour I have experienced.
STEM TIP: There is evidence that wolves periodically roam on long journeys. For example, each spring or perhaps other change in the season, taking long 100 mile loop journeys. Along the way, marking the trail with their scent. Further evidence indicates a wolf can detect decades old scent, and therefore past paths taken for many years later. May the spirit of Cu Bocan live on forever and find many paths!!
Cheers! Thank you!
I don't do well with tourist traps. This one is genuine. Informative and fun.
Myself and my husband loves the tour, great fun, informative and friendly. Would go back again to to do o e of the more expensive tours. My husband loves it especially the samples at the end. We were there during the quiet season when there is no actual production going on, think we'll time a future visit for when they are busy.
A nice thorough tour with a tasting session at the end.
Really interesting tour with knowledgable host (Emily). Even the kids enjoyed it. Highly recommend.
Remember and book a tour in advance. This places get busy!
Great whisky tour around site. Large shop stocking Tomatin products and minatures. Limited bus service at site entrance. Ring to book tour
This is a very nice place to visit. They offer tours, you can book your slot and go. Staff is very helpful and they explain very thing in detail and just don't run through things. Ample of parking spaces.
Not even into alcohol, but this was a great tour. Kudos to Gavin!! Super knowledgeable and went slow enough and waited for our questions. This distillery has an interesting story and is very sustainable.
Awesome tour, and outstanding deals on some incredible scotches offered after the tour.
Really cool your with a friendly and interesting guide. Plus good whiskey.
friendly people, very delicious whisky and a nice distillery
I recommend everyone to do a guided tour was 5 stars
Great tour of the Tomatin distillery as part of our Haggis Tour. We had a friendly tour guide who had a great amount of knowledge about the process and history of the distillery. We were also able to try some of the whiskeys as then end.
Great tour! We hadn't heard of this distillery until we stopped into Drumnadrochit the night before. It was only a slight detour from our path to Dufftown so we decided to stop. Best idea ever.
Our tour guide Barbara was very knowledgeable and great. She must have worked there for a long time and knew lots of history about the distillery and the whisky making process.
We've been in several distillery tours in the Highlands, and this was the best by far. We even got to walk inside a mash tun!
For a more hands on experience than other distilleries, take the side trip off the motorway to this great distillery. They're whisky is pretty good too.
Very knowledgeable staff learned a lot about scotch
Patrick is a delight and full of whisky knowledge! Made the whole experience very enjoyable. Can match a whisky to anyone's tastes
I arrived at 3.20pm and was told they had just shut for the day. I think they have the shortest working day known to man as they don't even open until 10am.
Great tour by Rosemary, who answered all of our questions, even if they were a bit random. Sampled 6 different whiskys afterwards - great lil sesh.
Great shop, amazing whisky and really customer oriented staff. We like to visit Tomatin every year again. See you next year
Great tour, very friendly staff, and Stewart is an outstanding tour guide!!
Fantastic experience. One of the best Distillery tours. Well worth a visit.
Excellent customer service and entertaining presentation
Great tour guide - Ken is so knowledgeable and dryly amusing.
Very nice place. Very nice distillery. Neil our guide was very clear and kind, thanks again. His explanation was very clear for 2 french people with middle level of english.
Old but big distillery. The tour is informative if you are interested to know more. Also has a tasting session.
Great distillery! Very friendly staff. The distillery tour was very enjoyable.
Superb place. Interesting visit. Excellent welcome and exquisite whiskey. Ladies this is the sweetest whiskey you can ever find. Excellent product and a visit to do in this human-sized distillery with an offbeat spirit.
Good experience discovering how whiskey is made. They let to us also taste it! Easy to follow the process.
Great selection of whisky with some very friendly staff. Tasted 6 different whiskies during my visit and had each explained in detail. Worth the bus journey from Inverness.
Good tour, even the cheapest tour give a chance to taste 3 types of whiskies.
just get someone who doesn't drink to drive u there
Superbly friendly staff, great selection of hand bottlings
A great tour was really beautiful and the whiskey is delicious
On the route to Inverness a short visit to Tomatin... fine shop, nice people, big place!
Good way to spend a couple of hours. Distillery is quite easy to get to and the tour is well run with guides who really know their stuff.
Visitor centre looks very new and they have a large range of items to buy. Tour we went on lasted for 75 mins and covered the entire whisky process. There were about 10 on the tour which was a good number.
Beautiful setting and a great place to visit, not just for whiskey lover's.
Didn t do the tour, helpful and friendly staff, able to try several samples before making my purchases.
Spectacular guided tour and very educational final tasting
You can fully recommend it, but you should book in advance for all 3 possible tours. Especially between April and September.
A great place to visit and find out about Whisky !!
Great. On Friday afternoon the distillery stood - no disadvantage - no noise, no hectic pace and a very, very good, very relaxed guide.
Good whiskey. Wish they offered the driver packs. Try their newly marketed one with peat.
Terrific when it's open but this time just had some great electrons for the car!
Really nice distillery with a really good guided tour
Great little tour of a lovely distillery. Really great and knowledgeable tour guide. Worth a visit and the whisky tastes great.
Just lovely. Enjoyed every second. And learnt interesting facts about making whisky and history of the place and the area around. The tour guide guy was a very entertaining fella.
Lovely place, lovely staff, great tour around distillery with a tasting at the end. Bought a bottle of their Legacy single malt. Really good.
Friendly staff and delicious whiskey. They have tours as well so it s worth a visit.
Various visit options. Friendly shop and lots of organization. It is well worth it and very close to Inverness.
Wonderful place to visit. Would highly recommend the private tour and tasting of the barrel strength single malts. Fantastic day, thank you so much.
Very tasty. A very interesting tour, you can even see the warehouse and how the copper is working.
Had to be the best tour of a distillery I've taken!
Really glad that we came here and attended the tour - our guide Fiona was extremely passionate and so delightful to chat with. Recommended!
Good distillery and shop with range of items. Tour was good providing history of the distillery and it's processes.
Free sample of their 12 y/o whiskey after a +/-7 minute informational video. My husband enjoyed the whiskey very much.
Great tour with lots of educational tidbits. Learned about the affect of different still sizes and shapes. Good tasting tips and instructions on how to add water.
An informative tour of the historic Tomatin distillery.
Very helpful staff and some of the best scotch I have had
Fantastic, in depth tour from our passionate tour guide David. Would thoroughly recommend, potentially the best distillery tour I've been on.
Friendly staff, great tour and the smell is a bonus
A great opportunity to visit a working distillery. Charlie was a great guide, showed me around and answered all my questions.
I loved the experience of meeting a whiskey distillery ... this one is especially fabulous and 100% Scottish
What a great place. Ken our guide was friendly, knowledgable and funny. Loved tasting the whiskey and the place was an eye opener as to what the process involves. Very interesting. Well worth a visit.
As a person who likes whiskey very much, I had to stop here during my trip through Scotland and enjoy a tour of the local distillery including tasting.
We enjoyed a nice visit around the distillery in early April. Tomatin was a bit different in that we were taken into the cooperage and saw barrels actually being repaired. There was also quite a bit of time spent in the warehouses (filling and storage) but Tomatin has so much warehousing space it's not surprising. Kirsty, our tour guide was enthusiastic and interesting. At the end of the standard tour you get to taste Legacy, 12 year old, and a Cu Bocan (a lightly peated version). We also tried a port finish and an 18 year old. The port finish was the nicest of the bunch, being 14 years old and somewhat sweeter but there are better whiskies in my opinion - Aberlour or Glenmorangie have nicer sweet finishes and a lot more body, even the chill filtered standard drinks. So, a nice tour but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy the whisky. Parking is straightforward and free, although a little tight in a big vehicle.
Did not do the tour. Tasting room was nice but nothing to write home about.
Even if the distillery looks more industrial at first glance, the tour is very interesting, the staff very nice and the whiskey great.
The place is beautiful and is on the way to Inverness, in the Highlands (Highlands), but we were not even served because two vans arrived with groups and there was not enough staff. We left.
Legacy tour is a very good value. Gives you a good overview of the whisky distilling process and a few tasters at the end.
Nice tasting session here helpful staff and not too badly priced thanks
The Tomatin Distillery Co Ltd is a renowned Scottish whisky distillery located in the heart of the Highlands. Established in 1897, it has been producing some of the finest single malt Scotch whiskies for over a century. The distillery is situated on the eastern edge of the Monadhliath Mountains and draws its water from the Alt-na-Frith burn, which runs through its grounds.
Tomatin's collection of multi-award winning highland whisky is known for its exceptional quality and unique taste. The distillery produces a range of whiskies that cater to different tastes and preferences, from light and fruity to rich and complex.
One of Tomatin's most popular products is their 12-year-old single malt Scotch whisky. This whisky has won numerous awards over the years, including gold medals at both the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) and San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC). It has also received high praise from critics for its smoothness, complexity, and balance.
Another standout product from Tomatin is their Cu Bocan range of whiskies. These peated single malts are named after a mythical Highland hellhound that was said to haunt the village of Tomatin many years ago. The Cu Bocan range includes three expressions: standard edition, limited edition, and rare edition. Each expression offers a unique flavor profile that combines smoky notes with fruity undertones.
In addition to their core range of whiskies, Tomatin also produces special editions that are released periodically throughout the year. These limited-edition bottlings are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike due to their rarity and unique flavor profiles.
Tomatin's commitment to quality extends beyond just their products; they also prioritize sustainability in all aspects of their operations. The distillery uses renewable energy sources such as hydroelectric power generated by nearby dams to power its production processes. They also recycle waste materials wherever possible to minimize their environmental impact.
Overall, The Tomatin Distillery Co Ltd stands out as one of Scotland's premier whisky producers thanks to its dedication to quality craftsmanship combined with sustainable practices. Whether you're an experienced connoisseur or new to Scotch whisky tasting altogether, there's something for everyone in this exceptional collection."
