Did the legacy tour and loved it. We had a 2yo with us and it was fine (it can be long for a young one though so keep that in mind). The guide was excellent - knowledgeable and funny. The tastings were delicious. 12 yr was great! Since most More

In mid September, we took the Single Cask Experience tour at Tomatin. Hedy was our guide. She was excellent and a great deal of fun. The whiskey was wonderful and we left with a bottle of their 18 year old (very smooth) product. If you're in Inverness we highly recommend visiting and taking this tour.

Had an amazing time at the distillery. Nicole was our guide and she was incredibly knowledgable and friendly. The price is a bargain for the tour and the tasting at the end. The tour itself started a bit late and seemed a bit chaotic behind the scenes, so that s the only reason it s not 5 star, but would certainly recommend despite that!!

One a the few distilleries still offering tastings during this virus madness! They achieve this as the distillery staff are not on site at the weekends so socially distanced tours are possible. The tastings are held in a marquee . To my own fault I forget the name of the lovely South African lady who guided us on our tour and tasting but both her and Neil are generous in spirit and sharing their knowledge which made for a cracking afternoon!

Amazing Experience. Booking the tour before visiting is highly recommended. Nice staff, lovely shop. Tasting the whisky is a Nice addition. For drivers they have a small sample bottle to taste afterwards so you do not have to drive after drinking which is a thoughtful addition

I was given the privilege of visiting the incredible Tomatin Distillery, and the experience was fantastic in every aspect. The visitor's center is also the gift shop, and the tours start and end there. The tour is very thorough, and you get to see every step of the whisky making process up close. Our tour guide was very entertaining as well as knowledgeable, and gave what was arguably the most informative distillery tour I've ever taken.

What sets the Tomatin tour apart, for me at least, was the extent of what we were shown. The Tomatin Distillery tour is the most thorough and inviting distillery tour I've ever taken. We were invited into the cooperage, shown the inside of a malting tank, and even shown first hand the effects of aging in a whisky barrel as the spirits age. None of this is offered on any other tours that I know about.

At the end of the tour, you get to sample a few of the different spirits they offer, and you get the opportunity to bottle your own vintage whiskey (which I am now regretting not doing). Overall, I was impressed to the highest degree with the time and effort everyone at Tomatin has put into presenting their distillery and product. Tomatin Distillery is an absolute must for anyone who is a whiskey enthusiast.

The wonderful smells during the tour I found the highlight (unfortunately not in each distillery so intense / and / or interesting). The tour itself was more or less the same as in the other distilleries. Nevertheless, the staff were all very hard-working and nice. In the visitor center, I lacked a kind of bar, where you could also taste whiskeys to your own taste. Because the quality of the whiskeys is so great, I can not forgive less than 5 stars :) The Cu Bocan is already at my house :)

We've been on our first ever distillery tour ever and decided to do the single malt experience, all of us being experienced whisky lovers from the netherlands. From the very first contact with Kristie, who was very friendly and professional, during the email and reservation process, we were swept of our feet with the enthousiam, energy, exitement and thorough knowledge and passion of Georgie who made our tour a commemorate event to never forget. We've visited numerous distilleries after Tomatin but none was able to equal even a little bit the quality offered by Tomatin. We love your whisky and have become true ambassadors of your brand. We say give Georgie a big raise and put her picture in black and white next to the one you have off your cooper (make hers a little bit bigger). Cheers from the Netherlands ; Marc, johan, ron and marcel.

A very interesting place that offers extremely interesting guided tours of the entire distillery. A very well told whiskey production process. You can see for yourself how it goes from beginning to end. The whole ends with a tasting of drinks.

Absolute recommendation for this destillery! We as a couple enjoyed the Legacy Tour (about 1 hour plus tasting) on a weekend in June 2018 and were amazed. We are no Whisky lovers and this was our first destillery, but Tam the guide explained the production and the history of Tomatin with such enthusiasm and in such detail that we even decided to taste the whisky at the end (if you're driving you get a small 50ml bottle to taste at home). Luckily we were a small group of 4 people, so Tam had enough time for showing us around and answering all our questions. Those of you, who want to see the processing live should come on a weekday, as the production stands still on weekends. The advantage of a weekend tour is: less heat and much time to look into every corner. Their shop has an interesting variety of merchandise (like tea light holders and key chains out of cask wood, beanies, glasses, affordable and lovely gifts). You can also fill your own whisky in the shop. Grab a bottle of your favorite Tomatin here, as you cannot find it in the Duty Free shop (at least not in Edinburgh). In some countries they're available online though.
Whisky is part of Scotland, so you should see a destillery when you're here. And we can definitely recommend Tomatin.

We could spontaneously take a tour that was super interesting. although she was in English we understood everything (including my parents). In the distillery itself, great importance is attached to tradition and environmental protection. The whiskey is also very, very good! All in all a great trip. We would do it again!

Perfect day! The Guide was excellent! Everyone who loves whiskey should go there!

Took part in the 'Taste of Tomatin' tour. It was a wonderful experience with our guide, Scott McLennan, providing a superb journey throughout the distillery with facts and fun by the bucket load. Would recommend this to anyone, be it a whisky connoisseur or just someone interested in learning something about malt whisky should do it!

A very special experience, this distillery shows the entire process from start to finish, you can take pictures and the tour guide is very passionate! I am very happy to have found this place, rather than the much more touristy and more expensive distilleries in the area. After the tour a tasting. Very successful!

The best distillery visit we've had so far in Scotland!!! We arrived late, but the staff were very helpful and made their best to accommodate us and add us on the next group. The tour was a proper 60minute one. We had the best guide, who was so prepared to answer our questions along the way. The tasting at the end was a good experience for the majority of us, and the driver was also given a sample to try at a different time.

All in all this is a must see distillery, for those of you wondering around the area. Tomatin itself is also a cute little community :)

About The Tomatin Distillery Co Ltd

The Tomatin Distillery Co Ltd is a renowned Scottish whisky distillery located in the heart of the Highlands. Established in 1897, it has been producing some of the finest single malt Scotch whiskies for over a century. The distillery is situated on the eastern edge of the Monadhliath Mountains and draws its water from the Alt-na-Frith burn, which runs through its grounds.

Tomatin's collection of multi-award winning highland whisky is known for its exceptional quality and unique taste. The distillery produces a range of whiskies that cater to different tastes and preferences, from light and fruity to rich and complex.

One of Tomatin's most popular products is their 12-year-old single malt Scotch whisky. This whisky has won numerous awards over the years, including gold medals at both the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) and San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC). It has also received high praise from critics for its smoothness, complexity, and balance.

Another standout product from Tomatin is their Cu Bocan range of whiskies. These peated single malts are named after a mythical Highland hellhound that was said to haunt the village of Tomatin many years ago. The Cu Bocan range includes three expressions: standard edition, limited edition, and rare edition. Each expression offers a unique flavor profile that combines smoky notes with fruity undertones.

In addition to their core range of whiskies, Tomatin also produces special editions that are released periodically throughout the year. These limited-edition bottlings are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike due to their rarity and unique flavor profiles.

Tomatin's commitment to quality extends beyond just their products; they also prioritize sustainability in all aspects of their operations. The distillery uses renewable energy sources such as hydroelectric power generated by nearby dams to power its production processes. They also recycle waste materials wherever possible to minimize their environmental impact.

Overall, The Tomatin Distillery Co Ltd stands out as one of Scotland's premier whisky producers thanks to its dedication to quality craftsmanship combined with sustainable practices. Whether you're an experienced connoisseur or new to Scotch whisky tasting altogether, there's something for everyone in this exceptional collection."
