Interesting guided tour of the distillery facilities with a tasting at the end. A pity that it is in English.
Fantastic experience with tour and very good options in malt.
Absolutely amazing, worth visiting. Trust me! There Whiskey is beautiful.
Very nice heritage site...
Very nice Information Centre..
Super informative, knowledgeable guide (Gavin) which we really enjoyed
Can not go to the site using my Android phone !!!
In addition, of the 14 photos announced, 5 are identical ... I call it "make fun of the world" ... I hesitate to visit ....
Went but never got onto the tour, bought a bottle of whiskey and got whiskey drinking vessels
Amazing place and the staff were amazing. The Whiskey wasn't bad either
Picked this distillery because it was close to where we were staying. We weren't disappointed excellent tour and didn't realise it was one of the oldest with traditional methods being used today
One of the best whisky tours I have been on. Really informative. Nice setting. Good visitor center.
Very friendly, and very interesting. In addition their whiskey is very good.
Very good tour. Tasting was better than many, with a selection of different malts. Very informative, and nice to see some areas/equipment that other distilleries don't allow access too, and chance to speak to workers as they went about their jobs.
Well-made visitor center, with tasting and guided tours.
Leadership is great. Tasting should be made more noble, it felt a bit like in a mass production when tasting.
The staff here were so friendly and helpful. We were royally spoiled (on my birthday)! Our tour guide, Robbie was fantastic. We had a personalised tour (as there was just the 2 of us) and he was so knowledgeable and answered all our queries. Come and visit; the blended malt (Antiquary) is devine!!
The lady made a great presentation of how to make whiskie.
It was a wonderful tasting in a wonderful place with Hedy a very charming guide
Lovely little distillery. Friendly guy in the visitor centre. Ample parking. Hand sanitizer on entry. Try their blends as well as the single malts, they are very good. Outdoor seating for tasting provided with cover in case of rain.
Great tour, very informative. And great whisky tasting.
Took and can recommend the economy tour. Our guide provided good information and was thorough in answering questions as we 2alked through the facilities and process. At the end we got to taste 3 of their varieties.
Nice lounge. Unfortunately we did not have the last trip.
Excellent distillery visitor experience. Tomatin is one of the few Scotch Whiskey left that is still doing their own thing. You can sample all kinds of their spirits and bottle your own whiskey. Lovely visit and enjoyed the chat with the friendly staff.
This was a great experience. Really informative, friendly staff, great whisky which is quite special.
Great visitor experience, free glass of whisky to taste and special whisky only available there
Really great your with a very knowledgeable guide. You also get three whiskies to taste
brilliant tour with the lovely Lorna as our guide, the tour was well paced, didnt feel rushed, our questions answered and a wee bit of cheeky joking going on is always good.
DVD is nice (although out of date) and the facilities are immaculately clean and well looked after.
Great tour, great whisky ... the bourbon cask bottle your own is stunning.
Thanks Again
Big thanks to Ken who took our little group around the distillery. He had a fantastic mix of knowledge, enthusiasm and humour along the tour and the tasting at the end was great. Even got to buy and bottle my own whisky that i had tasted!(was on the single cask tour). Keep up the good work folks!
I was given a try of distilled whisky very amazing and staffs were nice
Nice tour. I do prefer smaller distilleries. Tour was interesting, but I 've heard better ones.
Shops and tours are substantial.
Limited bottles are also sold and you can bottling yourself from barrels.
Out Stan whisky distillery Highlands Scotland's good stop in
People friendly and nice and the tour very interesting .
Great guide, well explained and plenty of time for questions. The best part is that you can take pictures at any time. This is not allowed in other distilleries. The barrel storage is also impressive.
Great tour and tasting, good value and lots.of nice things in the shop
It was amazing. But, if you were born in 1986, you won't be able to take a picture with a cask from that year. Something unfortunate happened that year to the distillery :(.
Very detailed tour guide with delicious whisky after
One of the best distillery tours I've done. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff, lovely whiskies and not ridiculously priced.
A must do. You get to see parts of a distillery that you cannot see at other places.
Big THANKS to Gavin and the girls we met on our tour this afternoon thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Very informative with the added bonus of some Excellent Whisky. A visit to the Distillery comes highly recommended by the Thompson family.
Very welcome, small film in French on request, a large distillery view from the inside.
The guides there are really good. The tour is an in-depth one. It's really good value and you get to taste wonderful whiskies and learn their history! Thank you Karen for taking the time in teaching us about whisky
Great !
the reception is top, the classic visit, but the sympathy of the hosts compensates widely.
The visit is not given, but it's worth it.
..and then their whiskey is very good! :)
a very knowledgeable young guide, passionate of her job, well kept facilities, authentic distilleries
Visited as part of the Highland tour, but it is small and has very few facilities, and it is poor to see. I don't know why the heat exchanger is on display. We recommend places like the famous Glenfidk brewery.
Not the biggest, nor the most lavished visitor centre but truly one of the best
A really enjoyable tour, followed by some really enjoyable whisky. We took our kids (11 and 8) and they were surprisingly entertained throughout. A lot of distilleries won t allow children on their tours, so this was a big plus. Left with happy memories and two bottles of whisky :)
Interesting. Haven't seen a distillery before. To recommend.
A nice guide offered here ... let alone the delicious whiskey to buy it :)
Very beautiful Distillery, great guides, nice staff, great selection of whiskey which can be bottled directly from the barrel. The tasting room is crammed with samples of every single cask whiskey from the last 30 years. We had five in the tasting to choose from, each serving a nice story. The almost 3 hours incl. Tour went by in flight. Very nice afternoon
The Tomatin Distillery Co Ltd is a renowned Scottish whisky distillery located in the heart of the Highlands. Established in 1897, it has been producing some of the finest single malt Scotch whiskies for over a century. The distillery is situated on the eastern edge of the Monadhliath Mountains and draws its water from the Alt-na-Frith burn, which runs through its grounds.
Tomatin's collection of multi-award winning highland whisky is known for its exceptional quality and unique taste. The distillery produces a range of whiskies that cater to different tastes and preferences, from light and fruity to rich and complex.
One of Tomatin's most popular products is their 12-year-old single malt Scotch whisky. This whisky has won numerous awards over the years, including gold medals at both the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) and San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC). It has also received high praise from critics for its smoothness, complexity, and balance.
Another standout product from Tomatin is their Cu Bocan range of whiskies. These peated single malts are named after a mythical Highland hellhound that was said to haunt the village of Tomatin many years ago. The Cu Bocan range includes three expressions: standard edition, limited edition, and rare edition. Each expression offers a unique flavor profile that combines smoky notes with fruity undertones.
In addition to their core range of whiskies, Tomatin also produces special editions that are released periodically throughout the year. These limited-edition bottlings are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike due to their rarity and unique flavor profiles.
Tomatin's commitment to quality extends beyond just their products; they also prioritize sustainability in all aspects of their operations. The distillery uses renewable energy sources such as hydroelectric power generated by nearby dams to power its production processes. They also recycle waste materials wherever possible to minimize their environmental impact.
Overall, The Tomatin Distillery Co Ltd stands out as one of Scotland's premier whisky producers thanks to its dedication to quality craftsmanship combined with sustainable practices. Whether you're an experienced connoisseur or new to Scotch whisky tasting altogether, there's something for everyone in this exceptional collection."
