Awesome zoo, animals looked to be well taken care off. Plus the baby polar bear was way cute.

As always, the zoo doesn't disappoint. It was a little crowded, but it was a Saturday, so we expected that. The art fair was going on which was a pleasant change of pace! I enjoyed looking at all te different booths on display. My girls really liked how playful the polar bear cub was today.
Workers were rude. tried taking a picture but was yelled at where there were clearly not signs posted. The elephants were in little cages. drinks and food were outrageously expensive also there were signs for different exhibits that were not even opened. Waste of money.
We drive from the Detroit area to Toledo just for the zoo! The kids and adults all love it. We're proud members!
Love this zoo, you can get really close to some of the animals. And I love that there are animals here that are not at our local zoo, such as the hippo.
Always a fun time. Packed a lunch and saved the big spending for the gift shop!
Fantastic zoo, animals only a pane of glass away at times. I felt like I could reach out and pet the polar bear. For a girl that doesn't like snakes, couldn't help but appreciate. Turns out this was the same zoo my Dad went to as a child. Lots of buildings to pop into if hot. We will be back.
Toledo Zoo is a great destination for anyone local or visiting.
I absolutely love my annual zoo trip to the toledo zoo, unfortunately it was a bit different with COVID going on, gift shops were closed, interactive things were shut down, penguin walk through was closed and the aquarium line was long, it was quite unfortunate, i hope next year will be different but still loved seeing all the animals
A great place for the family! The animals were all very visible throughout the entire zoo, which is nice compared to other zoos we've been to. The prices were reasonable. We spent the entire day there, and there was something to do every step of the way. Be ready to walk! This place is pretty big!
Great place to take the family. We get a season pass annually and use it at least weekly if not 2 times a week. Best times for us to go are as the park opens. You can park close and beat the crowds. The aquarium is amazing and better than some stand alone aquariums I have been to.
Excellent experience. Get there early during the summer. The animals are more active in the cool morning.
My family loved our trip to the Toledo Zoo. We are a bit spoiled, given our home Zoo in Saint Louis has free admittance, however; the cost was well worth it. Walking was easy throughout. Exhibits are spaced nicely. My kids especially enjoyed feeding the Giraffes!
This zoo has a nice variety animals. Our time there was spent looking at animals, not wandering betwween exhibits. The petting zoo lacks a bit and the orangutans looked lonely as they were separated from one another. We were there during an art fest which was very nice.
I'd never been before as a child that I could remember. But as an adult I had an awesome time. I saw many animals that I've not seen at my home zoo in Detroit. The animal lanterns added a nice touch to the grounds. AND to add icing to my cake, I got to feed a Giraffe. YAY!!
Went to the christmas light show. Fun displays and a few animal out and about.
My family has had a membership at the Toledo Zoo for many years now and we love going. There is a lot to do for our little ones any time of year and the collection of animals is great.
Love this zoo. Continues to impress us and our kids!
I have to say, that this has been one of the best zoo experiences I've had.
Out of four total zoos I have been to, this one is the most beautiful and enjoyable. Now don't get me wrong, the other zoos are great, I really like them, but I LOVE this zoo. It is so well laid out, easy to navigate, and so many things to see! Also I have never been to a zoo where I have been so up close to the exhibits/animals, that I feel as though I am one with the exhibit and not struggling to get a far distance view. There are also so many zoo workers around ready to answer your questions about the animals. And to also have a zip line, awesome! This is totally my new favorite zoo and I would recommend it to everyone.
Kids love the zoo and aquarium, it is very easy to spend the better part of a day exploring the different exibites.
Awesome little zoo. The aquarium is small but in such a good way and the use of all the old buildings is amazing. One of my favorite zoos.
What to say, best Zoo in the world. Best Christmas lights in the country.
Africa! Has wildebeast , Masai giraffe , and other African animals . African Savanna has African elephants and a reticulated giraffe next door. African Savanna has rhinos. Toledo Zoo has otters, penquins, and more.
Not all of the animals was out for displayed. Little disappointed.
My three kids were born in three sequencial years and so I accompanied them on field trips to this zoo three years in a row back in the 90s. Coming from Ann Arbor I couldn't understand why we didn't go to the beautiful Detroit Zoo, one of the first in the nation to get their animals out of cages and into large open spaces. But I quickly learned that cages and much smaller outdoor spaces make for a more compact zoo and more easily navigated by adults herding elementary school children. Over the years the Toledo Zoo has done a lot to fix itself. I can remember when we started having lunch behind the bars in a former lion cage and since the last time we were there the beloved farm animals were relocated so their old enclosure is now part of a greatly improved elephant indoor/outdoor spaces that now cover five acres. The highlight of our visit, which included my kids and their kids, was the toddler sized elephant showing toddler sized enthusiasm wearing and shedding a tractor sized tire! Covid19 related: it seemed busier than the the 50% occupancy we been told to expect, but all of the other mitigations were in place. We saw 100% mask wearing the whole time. Indoor exhibits were closed, and social distancing enforced.
Our family had such a great time! Can't wait to go back and do the zip lining!!!!
Great zoo. You can get really close to the animals. They layout is cool. Lots of fun events held.
Staff always helpful, we purchase zoo memberships for kids and grandkids love it there
I loved this place the animals in the zoo looked healthy and lively. The zip line was the highlight for me just a overall great experience
Great place to take the family or go for a stroll as a couple or by yourself.
It's huge and you can enjoy the animals at your own pace.
Just went for the first time. Well worth the extra hour drive to go there instead of the Detroit Zoo
Clean facilities, super friendly staff. This zoo is large with plenty to see and do for multiple visits. We weren't sure if my 1 year old son was old enough to enjoy it, but we spent the whole day there and he LOVED it. They even have a place for little ones to play.
Good time good experience unfortunately there and a decent number of enclosures closed with no animals
A decent local zoo.. good for young kids! I highly recommend this place for kids. Get a seasonal pass if you have a child or children. It's worth it.
I really enjoyed this zoo. After 4 hours I had seen the majority of it... didn't make it to everything. It was just too hot to stay longer.
Excellent as always...just picked too hot of a day to goo
First time back since I was a little girl. I wish some of the exhibits were cleaner the windows were not the cleanest to look through both on the animal side and the guest side. Most of the restaurants and rides were closed.Employees could have been nicer they were rude to guest. The water in the Arctic sections need cleaned or updated.I took my parents for their 28th anniversary.
I didn't give this 5 stars because you had to wear a mask at all times even outside.
Today was my family's first time at this zoo.we we will be buying memberships from now on. The place is amazing. The staff was great, the animals are lively and happy, this is my now favorite zoo.
Best zoo in the area, lots of construction in the bridge at the moment.
Best zoo. Clean, not too big, friendly staff, cool animals.
Great place for an afternoon of family fun! I've been coming here since I was little and I still enjoy going to see the animals, lights, and music under the stars.
Food lines were the hook. Service was terrible. The animals were awesome
Always clean and the ability to see the animals is fantastic.
Very clean, nice layout. There are definitely some very cool things to see here that you don't get to see at every zoo. I would have given 5 *s but I wasn't "thrilled" about a few things. Other than those few things... SPECTACULAR experience! The reptile house here is AWESOME! It's good to visit a zoo that obviously cares about its presentation AND their inhabitants. Thank you for an unforgettable day!
A great zoo for those with little ones. Admission price was pretty steep though considering the amount of exhibits closed. Would maybe return in the future, definitely a once a year deal.
So lucky to live so close to such a great place. I've been visiting for about 40 yrs. I hear they're bringing the tunnel back. It was always so cool to go through there as a kid
Toledo zoo has added on so much. Now the underground tunnel is open, so it's so much easier with a stroller. I highly recommend you visit! We had a blast!
A must go place anytime with your family. Clean and fun. Love the zoo lights during Christmas!
First time visitors. Great exhibits, awesome aquarium, friendly, helpful staff. We will be back again from Michigan!
We are from Fort Wayne. And we love making the drive to the Toledo Zoo. It's a huge Zoo! Lots and lots of animals to look at. We love the polar bears.
Christmas lights were awesome and picked the correct night with it not real, busy
Of course it is cold today and that is not exactly zoo friendly. This was our first visit and we will return. Exhibits were clean and the animals, birds and fish look healthy.
Took my Fiance there Sat May 26, 2012 and had a really good experience. Even got to see the Elephants being trained.
More then half of the exibits are closed and cost way to much to get in
Seemed to be less less this year! But still beautiful and amazing!!
It's a great zoo. If you live within 70 miles and have kids, you'll get a great time during the whole year. There's usually something changing so you might not get bored visiting every couple of months. Usually very well organized, staff is quite attentive and honest servicing their visitors. Food is ok but it can improve. During Covid-19, cleanliness has been taken seriously so please follow the signs and rules
Great setup and you don't have to walk as much as other zoos.
Fun walking around but NO CASH REGISTERS were functional. None. You could not but drinks or snacks for children, except at the furthest sway from the front gate Cafe. And not giving drinks away on thr hottest day of the year. A big old fail Toledo.
A favorite place to visit! I love coming here with my godson and seeing his reactions to all the animals. Prices are a bit high, however, if you are a Lucas County resident, you don't have to pay for parking. A cool experience to have at the zoo is the giraffe feedings.
Even on a rainy day, we definitely see why this zoo has multiple years as the #1 Zoo! Interesting architecture, incredible up-close enclosures and fun for the whole family.
It is on the expensive side. You have to pay for parking, ticket prices are higher then other comparable zoo's, plus you have to pay to see certain animals closer up. For example to go on the observation deck for the giraffes you must buy food for the giraffes to go on it. Same with the penguins. On the other hand it had other activities for families, such as the history museum, and childrens play area.
I did appreciate the family bathrooms and nursing rooms throughout the zoo.
