Surprisingly busy on a Monday night. Lots of people having a good time.
Surprisingly busy on a Monday night. Lots of people having a good time.
Good selection of beer in a pub atmosphere nestled in the eclectic gaslamp district in San Diego. Great place to kick back with friends, watch the game while enjoying a wide variety of unique beers.
Super fun bar! Not what I expected looking at the exterior of the bar. They have 3 floors, one for dancing, one is the main bar area, and the upstairs floor had games like Connect 4, pool, etc. The seating and decor is also very classic/older style. Great bar all around.
Best bar in the gas lamp. Staff is amazing! Always on top of things. My only suggestion to them is the music in the basement is not great. The DJ will get the crowd going with one or two songs and then just play some bad music the kills the dance floor. It might be a crowd control method because the the dance floor turns over quickly.
Little something for everyone here with three levels with different atmospheres. Variety of age groups attending. Expensive drinks. Lots of messy drunk people but its a good time.
Cool bar during the day... night crowd didnt look as good
Security guard was extremely rude while my friends and i waited for annoying escort to take us to our destination with online purchased tickets, as we waisted time waiting for her under rainy conditions under canopy.
Not bad. Drinks and food were pretty good. Decent place to relax.
A bit small but nonetheless still a great place. Great to enjoy a nice time with a special friend. The drinks are reasonable priced. Definitely recommend to check out this place.
The food and the drinks are delicious. The food service was a bit slow, but the bartenders were great and quick. Overall great music. The lower level with the dance floor was a lot of fun.
The BT's are hot as hell...drinks are grrrreat and yeah...what else?
Its okay along with the rest of the bars downtown. This bar has a good atmosphere though. If your not into crowds than don't come downtown during Friday night and weekend
Shame, thought I really liked this place, but they put a price up on their dynamic pricing and wouldn t honour it!
Good Bar. Went to a SDCC related event and placed fit-in accordantly.
Great bar in SD.
Friends and I came here for drinks and had a fantastic time.
There is a $5 cover on Saturdays from what I remember.
There are 3 levels to this bar and something for everyone. You can dance, drink, and chill.
Drinks are pretty solid. The crowd was unpretentious, just looking for a good time.
Ok place but seems to have a problem with supply, tried ordering 3 different IPAs before I found one they had in stock. Other than that, as I said ok place.
Uhmmmm for a dive bar it's ok. Good service, but food needs a makeover
Good beer selection and specials. Fun ticker beer / liquor price concept.
Great beer selection. It's a San Diego staple. Haven't been back in years but it's still great. Highly recommended.
This is a fun little establishment in the heart of the Gaslamp district. Inside, you'll find cool bartenders and great drinks
I love the vibe and the fact that they have 2 floors.
Great place to have a drink and socialize with friends.
Recommendable in the evening to eat well in a stylish and musical bar
Good place but on the pricey side. Good distancing too
I came here last night as by recommendation of my date. Despite the friendliness of the bartenders, the "management team" is a bunch of chauvinistic fools, and given their lack of professionalism, I will never be returning. There are 20 other bars near these cross streets - I advise picking another one.
Cool place, food drinks, great music selection. It's probably one of my favorite cars, plus it has pool.
If you have tattoos they discriminate against you and deny you entry because they have a tattoo policy. What a JOKE
Only pub in San Diego that I visited every time I went to experience San Diego downtown's night life.
Great place, had a really fun time. 5$/person to enter
Each level is different, which is neat. Bar games on the tables and an arcade. The bathrooms were serviced and clean. The DJ was fantastic. It was pretty hot and humid in the basement. Service for drinks was quick. They had balloons and stuff for bachelorette parties, which was cool. The security was nice and handled complaints well for creeps.
My favorite bar in all of sandiego. Staff are very welcoming
Best place for all types of crowds. Lounge for the people who want to chill, main floor for a mix of party and chill, and basement for the dancers and full on partiers.
Happy hour is pretty interesting not to mention the connect four and other games
The food here was crazy. The lobster spread appetizer was the best thing ever. Inside
is so interesting with all the random things on the walls. They have movie stills and framed newspapers. It was great bartender was super personable, great service.
Nice little spot, they have connect-four and Jenga at the booths you can play. They also have a really nice shuffleboard.
This was my default bar during my time in San-Diego.
I love the upstairs bar, but my friend was charged $2.00 extra for ordering ice in his drink without being told before hand. Overall nice place, but definitely an odd hidden charge.
Wow what a fun place the Scooby was great, try one.
Turned the corner, heading to the TIpsy Crow, and a bum had his dick out, taking a giant piss against the building..... this area stinks.
Just had a few beers and good conversation with the bartender and my hubby. I scored a free beer by doing my realistic crow call (lol).
Loved this bar it is great for a new Englander away from home! Great Atmosphere!
OMG so fun we had such great service and Cali don't know if the right spelling was just the best and the meat balls and blooming bread is definitely a must have
I barely remember being here, it must have been good.
The basement is hot and smelled like puke. I had to pull shards of glass out of my shoes when I got home.
If you know who is in the picture you know how our night there went..... It was the ishhhhhhh
Super fun place. Three different levels, fun atmosphere.
Bar experience only - Went there on a Monday night and there was a decent amount of people there. The bartender Sara was very pleasant and an amazing bartender. She gave recommendations that we liked very much and also was a sweet girl to talk to. When we come back we will definitely try to go when she is there.
Make sure you take a look upstairs because it's a really cool looking place to relax and drink with friends.
My friend and I went during SDCC, stopped in when a planned pub crawl we'd signed up for was utterly bust. We needed another drink and some food to pad the drinking. I suggested it because I liked the name, and I can't say I regret it at all. We wound up getting a grilled cheese platter, the caprese grilled cheese, and it was fantastic. We both ordered drinks as well, I didn't like my first choice, it didn't taste good at all, but they didn't charge and replaced it with an off the menu drink for me. My friend got something that smelled pretty damn smooth for being 118 proof. We only stayed on the main floor, neither up nor down for us, remember we were on a replacement pub crawl mission. But there was live music, a guy that covered Alicia Keys with just a couple guitars. Loved it. We'll be hitting this place again next year.
Visit this bar quite frequently with the bar crawls I attend, overall fun and usually packed bar has a club floor thats almost hidden unless someone had shown you.
Not what I expected, it was a Saturday night so extremely busy, there was no where to sit down and service was a little slow. Atmosphere is more of a club.
What a hidden find... The basement in the Tipsy Crow and the live music. We attended an 80s party and had a great time.
Great food friendly staff fun place and the drinks are awesome
Great bar food, good beer selection and reasonably priced. French Dip Sliders are delicious! Top sirloin, mozzarella and aus ju. Tipsy Truffle Mac, truffle cheese sauce over cavatappi noodles in a warm sourdough bread bowl topped with applewood smoked bacon! Mmm that was good. Also tried Not Yo Mama's Meatballs, 3 huge meatballs mixed with beef, pork and sausage covered in "secret" seasonings served over homemade marinara and toasted baguettes. Unfortunately I did not take any pics of the food bevause we were to busy eating it. Nice work Tipsy!
This place beats all other bars in town with their great beer selection. We recommend tasting several beers from the list. We found a new favorites!!!
Cool bar and good atmosphere, pretty good beer selection
I love beer and I love the Red Sox. This place fosters both.
Cozy couches to chill and pool tables on 2nd floor!
I like the bar only one thing needs more Variety of Liquor and Mixed drinks
It has a great night life. There are three floor to this place that give it three different vibe and background feel to it. There are games to play and hang out on the main floor. The top floor is more elegant and a fancy feel to it. The lower level is where the music is blasting the dance floor is. The night I was there was a busy night. The bartender service was great and fast. They also have waitress going around asking if you need drink. Great vibe and good services plus the music gets the night life going.
DJ stuck in the early 90's but atmosphere is laid back....
Bar was pretty busy but the waitress we had was amazing and very funny. Had alot of good banter with her and will definitely be returning for some more drinks
The place is packed, but there's upstairs and downstairs so you get in where you fit in. They even have games to play one the first floor. Great music
Good atmosphere up top. Basement can get stuffy, hot, and usually someone wants to fight after a few too many.
This place was packed on all 3 floors. Top level is more of a lounge area with a few arcade games and bar. The main level is the bar with clean restrooms and very nice attendant. The bottom level also has a bar and a decent sized dance floor. Bottom level had the most security which was nice. They kept the girls safe from overly drunk creepers. Which they removed right away. They also did a great job cleaning up after a spill and busing tables. Even with the bar being full we were served pretty quickly. Some negatives about this place would have to be the smell on the lower level, lack of ventilation. Very moldy smell and the fog machine and fake ivy leaves on the cealing didn't help. At times I felt like I couldn't breathe. Still had a good time dancing the DJ was ok.
Love this place! Met a beautiful lady named Emily there. She was wonderful! All 3 floors were poppin! Definitely a place to go!
Always a blast at The Tipsy Crow. It's three different vibes over three different floors, a little bit for everyone. From the dancing below, to the bar feel on the main level and the lounge feel on the top. Always my go to.
My favorite casual spot downtown. Dancing on the bottom floor, mid floor bar/party atmosphere, top floor for chilling.
Love this place. Always come here when I need a break from Comiccon. Fantastic staff very engaging, great selection of beers and liquor. Dont miss out, ho on in and enjoy yourself
Whatever your scent, dance floor or bar, Tipsy Crow has it. Not too crowded, and plenty of floor space.
clam chowder on sourdough bowl is the best I've had here. also ordered a lobster roll and spicy roast beef sandwich and both were very good
Great bar. Beautiful staff. Great music I definitely will be back next time I am in town. 5 stars
