It was so good. Our server Joe was super helpful. I'm glad he explained the menu like he did, And directed me how to get and eat the stone crab claws. I can't wait to come back. We had an awesome time here on Sanibel Island and Timber's was delicious.

POOR SERVICE EXCELLENT FOOD. Got seated right away Kristin greeted us and took our drink order. Very friendly and sounded up on her knowledge up sold us a bit. So far so good. The bisque was excellent. I'm out of water. Food runner drops off crispy grouper platter with scallops and shrimp was delicious. Girlfriend ordered Yellow edge grouper with Buerre blanc also delicious. The server checks up on us 10 plus minutes into eating. Still out of water. Finish eating I'd still like some water. Girlfriend requests the check. I decide to go use the bathroom and expect the check to be there 5 minutes later no check. Kristin asks if I want desert no just the check please. My girlfriend said she politely declined the same line of questioning while I was in the bathroom and asked for the check. Wait 5 minutes girlfriend then decides to go to the bathroom and when my girlfriend comes back still no check. Finally 20 plus minutes later we have a check try to hand Kristin a card(which was on table already at this point) and Kristi zips away again without taking our payment wait another 5 minutes or so and she finally takes our payment. Great now we can go see the sunset no we can't because it took nearly 30 extra minutes to ring us out!! What was she doing?.. Great question! My girlfriend is a server we watched as she had us a 2 top, a 4 top and an 8-9 top which must have been her friends as she spent 95%percent of her time talking and laughing with that table. I still never got my water I just got tired of asking for it be the end of the meal. POOR SERVICE 3 STARS FOR EXCELLENT FOOD.

Reasonably priced meals with soup/salad and vegetable accompaniment. Wide selection of fish, shellfish, and even steak options. Have always loved the clam chowder. Try happy hour at the Raw Bar for peel and eat shrimp, oysters, chowder and cocktails.

It's been a while since we've been to Timber's. Probably 3 years or so. The Timbers rum punch was pretty good. My parmesan seabass was ok, one side was really fishy, almost to the point of gagging. I would get it again and just hope for a better piece of fish. The kids chicken fingers were a bit tough, although the fried batter was good. Timber's decor is unique and I do like it and the service was fast. I recommend Timber's if you're looking for fish. I just hope you get a better piece than I did.

I've been to Timbers in two locations now on Sanibel. My mother has a house on the island and I get down every few years. I wouldn't miss Timbers! This is listed as a fish market but they really have 2 separate restaurants. One is more elegant, one is more like a sports bar. It's your choice, whatever you are in the mood for. I had college roommates down for a "reunion". This place was a must. I love it.

Timbers has such a great selection of seafood. The raw bar is my favorite spot to enjoy some oysters and have a beer. The staff is excellent and their manager JC is superb. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Sanibel, FL

Stayed at The Little Oasis beach cottage over on north captiva island (not captiva island 30 mins away accessible by ferry or boat) and we went island hopping to captiva and Sanibel. Loved timbers restaurant and fish market because of their stone crabs! Best stone crabs in the world!

Update...After reaching out to the manager (Julie) she was so kind to invite us back to give them the opportunity to give us a better experience. I didn't share with her every issue we had but did share with her the part about the cockroach. Tonight we returned for a do-over and the food was simply okay but the service and cleanliness of the dining room was excellent AND WITHOUT COCKROACHES. My daughter enjoyed her sushi, my son had the seafood platter (nothing special about this bland $30 entree), and I had the surf n turf (steak with shrimp scampi). All was going okay up until I bit in to a hard object in my steak and after inspecting, it appeared to be hard plastic or glass. I didn't make a fuss because honestly I just wanted to eat and move on. This will just not be a place we return in the future especially when there are so many other restaurants on the island. Lesson learned.

Previous review: My family of 4 decided to give Timbers a try tonight and we were extremely disappointed. From the low quality environment to the barely warm Blue Crab Bisque as a start to our meal it was just the start to a very poor meal. The cockroach that crawled up the wall, under our plate and dropped in my sons lap was the deal breaker for sure. When our waitress asked was the matter she laughed and said"yep, Sanibel has lots of bugs". No apologies whatsoever. The only positive I can say from this 116.00 meal was the steak . We will never return. There are so many other better options than this.

Really unique restraunt. Less shine than a corporate venture, but it feels like it has soul. Foods good but slightly limited (mostly just cooked meats + veg). their new England clam chowder was probably the best thing I had: better than a lot you find in Boston these days.

Timbers is a unique seafood restaurant that combines a fine dining area, a raw bar, a seafood market and a sports bar all in one location. I particularly like the raw bar. The only critique is if you're a fan of oyster shooters, request the old style of prep that includes their homade cocktail sauce. These are the best oyster shooters I've ever had. The new version employs a bloody Mary mix that is not as good and is at best mediocre. But overall, the restaurant is outstanding and worth your time.

Timbers Restaurant and Fish Market was our favorite restaurant on the island. The Fish was prepared perfectly! The atmosphere was great and our server was one of the best I have ever had. He was great with the kids and had a fun personality. I would highly recommend visiting.

Thank you, Matt Asen, for opening Timbers and The Grille so many years ago. The first dinner we ever had on Sanibel was at Timbers, back in 1993. Crunchy Grouper. Since then, I always favor their Crab Bisque (best on the island) and Scottish Salmon. Timbers also offers take out, which is great for special occasions. Lots of parking, some of which is under the restaurant, and there is an elevator. Their menu is consistently good.

Atmosphere was nice. I had the 10oz Filet (med-rare, of course) with green beans (the ONLY vegetable option) and a salad. Salad came with Goldfish Crackers as garnish, which was odd. My wife had the Mahi Mahi with a mango glaze, and added a petit Filet (to share) for an extra $7. Ice water and lemonade both had such a strong sulfur taste, typical for the area, even though they supposedly had a water filter. We were offered a bottle of water, which turned out to be TWO bottles for $6 total. For water. Not all that impressed, but maybe we didn't order the right things.

Snooty. 3/4 empty restaurant and tells us 10 minute wait and walks away. The Hostess had a sloppy T-shirt on that said Sanibel Grill and asked if we had reservations. Nowhere on website did it say reservations were even offered. We left.

Absolutely delicious! Beautiful atmosphere and our server Jinny was beyond attentive. The best Oysters Rockefeller I've ever had and the scallops were mouth watering. The swordfish was to die for and the brulee was the perfect finish.

Always a fun place to visit. Good menu selections and friendly staff. We had a Kiwanis coupon book for Sanibel and Captiva, a great deal to visit and sample places we would not have otherwise visited.

5 stars for food, 3 stars for service.

5 stars for food, 3 stars for service.

We went while they had sushi and sashimi (Thursday through Saturday), I got the shrimp tempura roll with spicy mayo, it was fresh and delicious! The food was excellent (my friend LOVED her sashimi, some of it was fresh local fish!) but our waiter Larry only refilled my drink once and I had to ask for that refill when he gave us our food. We had an appetizer and he refilled my friend's water but he completely ignored my empty glass, which I had even moved to the edge of the table, since I thought he didn't see it. Nope, he walked by and to our table at least 3-4 times and never refilled my Coca-Cola, luckily after we placed our orders I asked for an ice water so I had something to actually drink. We had been out in the sun all day and I was parched! To me this is what makes or breaks service at a restaurant, if I have to *ask* for a refill, then the waitstaff is not doing a good enough job. To some people it might not seem like a big deal, but when you pay $2-3 for a drink and only get one refill, it's ridiculous (also their glasses are rather small). We were even going to go back later in the week to try more of their menu, but I worried that we would get the same waiter and decided to go elsewhere.
