The salmon avocado sushi was splendid. And Johnny was a good server.
Came back and Carolyn handled my weirdly specific requests swiftly.

The crab bisque is there best meal. Servers are the best especially good
Love the Timbers! Great atmosphere and phenomenal bisque
Great food and great servers and great cooks. A little pricey but worth it. Will go back again when I'm in the neighbor
The best value we were able to find in our week on the island - food, prices and atmosphere.
A touch of tarragon in a french onion soup was unexpected and very welcomed.
Also recommend Apalachicola oysters
Great food fresh seafood best choice for Christmas dinner
This place is a must for good seafood on Sanibel Island. The Blackened Grouper with Sweet Thai Chili Sauce is amazing. Their smoked fish dip appetizer is great too! Don't miss this great restaraunt!
I've been dining at Timbers/Sanibel Grille for over 15 years. Never a bad experience. Great seafood and draft beer.
I've eaten here on vacation every year for at least two decades. I don't get to pick the restaurants. This place is definately getting the benefit of the terrible quality of island food in the reviews. About three options on the menu are local, the rest is imported. The menu desperately needs updating--preparations are mostly uninspired eighties standards: lemon butter, bronzing, broiling, scampi. Prep is usually competent, just boring. The wine list is uninspired. However, I had my first actual bad experience here tonight. I ordered a fillet mignon, and was served an oblong, cross-gained steak that was clearly a sirloin. I was away from the table when it arrived, so it was halfway through the meal at the table before I was able to point out the error to the waiter. Whereupon he insisted that it was a fillet, but offered to take it back and get me another one. There is literally no way a fillet mignon can be shaped like that. It is cut from a tenderloin, a long cylindrical muscle, that must be cut into round steaks. Because there were 16 other people with us halfway through dinner, I declined to send it back, but told him I wanted to be charged for a sirloin, not a fillet. He returned to the kitchen and told me the chef was 100% sure it was a fillet--an amazing feat, considering he did not actually SEE the steak. He continued to argue even when I pointed out the other fillets at the table that looked nothing like my dinner. An error is fine. A condescending waiter who talks over me and tells me it's just a "different cut" is not. A chef who is certain of what one person got served at a table for 18 without checking is not.
Very good selection of fish, everything we had was good.
Read the reviews and a local recommendation before coming to Timbers. The server and hostess were very helpful and friendly, seated quickly. Unfortunately the rest of the experience lacked, lobster scampi over cooked and rubbery. The Chilean Sea Bass over sauced and not tasty. Drinks from the bar not great and watery. Very expensive dinner to leave disappointed.
The raw bar is special. There are about 7 seats. It sits between 2 overly large dining rooms. But the bar manages to be quaint, friendly, and delicious. The bar serves, oysters, clams, shrimp, and a few appetizers from the kitchen. The bar staff doubles as counter sales for the fresh fish counter.
A most stop for a cocktail and appetizer before watching the sunset.
Absolutely the best and freshest oysters we had in many years. Sashimi delicious, service real friendly and fast. Happy hour from 4 to 6 at the bar with oysters for 1.25 usd.can't beat that. Loved that restaurant.
Fantastic fish & steak place run by locals for locals (and the lucky tourists that figure this out). All the food is good, but the fish is better than the steak.
Bisque was very salty and luke warm.
King crab legs were undercooked and served without REAL butter. Very disappointing for $54!!!!
Will not return.
Disappointing. I had the Scottish salmon..it was undercooked, I sent it back and it came back still under cooked. The steamed asparagus was mushy. Someone else in the party had tuna and it seemed like it was frozen and not fresh. We go to the sister restaurant the Prawnboker in Fort Myers all the time but Timbers was really disappointing. I wouldn't go back. To many good restaurants on Sanibel to waste your time here.
Fresh fish the day we went included triple tail. One of my favorites. I would buy off the catch of the day menu rather than the everyday one
We have gone to this restaurant for many special occasions, and have always thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Good food, good service and a wonderful atmosphere.
Terrible experience tonight, ordered Oysters , bit down on one , and crunch , not a good sound . Spit out what looked like a small black rock . Got back to motel room and found 2 pieces of a broken crown on a upper tooth . I showed the rock to the server , so they won t be surprised by my call tomorrow , and the waiter will have to tell them what I showed him . Really sucked to end a vacation that way .
Way better than some of the other places that have equally high reviews. Not cheap, but you won't regret it.
So much fresh seafood on menu it was difficult to choose Multiple types of oysters available raw or baked Steaks, chops also featured. Great atmosphere. Bamboo and rattan decor. Romantically lit. It was the BEST meal we had on our visit. Says slot because we had good food everywhere.
This is a super neat and unique Fish House and seafood market. I went with my wife and three year old son and everything we ate was amazing and the atmosphere was awesome!
Love this place and have been coming here for years. Any multi day stay in the area, I am here. Fresh seafood, and a great variety of it. If you like fresh seafood, you wont be disappointed here. Atmosphere fits the occasion for Island dining.
Love the food and the service, our server was Andrew, he was very knowledgeable of the food and very courteous we will come back because of food and hope to to get Andrew again.
My favorite meal of the week! I got the sesame tuna and every aspect of the dish was exactly how it should've been. Expect to spend a pretty penny, but expect a very nice dinner and knowledgeable staff.
The food is good, atmosphere is nice and casual. Crunchy grouper is one of the top dishes on the island.
We had the Skewered Shrimp and Shrimp Scampi, clam chowder, sweet potatoes and warm baked bread. Fantastic meals and a great service. Love Timbers they are consistent and always a great stop.
Nice place, fresh food but in need of new recipes. Too bland and old school.
We have eaten at Timbers each of the last 4 years we've visited Sanibel and this year was disappointing. The chowder is usually really good, but this visit it was barely lukewarm. The kids meals crunchy grouper was a very good value-reasonably priced with a large portion, but but the adult meals were lacking. The vegetable consisted of 6 green beans that were very salty. For 2 adults and 1 child with a beer and one specialty drink it was over $100. It just isn't worth it. We didn't even have leftovers! I don't think we will be back.
Every time we go as a family my boys always order steak ! If you saw it you would understand why! Best value children's steak on the Island and delicious as well:0)
Lots of seafood choices. Very busy place. Service was not up to par.
My wife and I went to The Timbers Restaurant our first night to the area and we had a great experience. Our waitress Diane greeted us with molasses oat bread which was wonderfully crisp on the outside and soft on the inside; we ate all of it. Then, we debated over many of the appetizers that sounded good, but we ended up passing and just ordering our dinners. I ordered the grouper fillet with citrus buerre blanc, and my wife ordered the petite filet mignon. My grouper was grilled perfectly, still moist and flaky and the citrus beurre was light and refreshing. The dish went perfectly with the rice pilaf I ordered and came with broccoli also. My wifes filet was cooked perfectly medium and had a nice crust on the outside. It didn t need any kind of sauce because it was perfect on its own. She had a perfectly baked sweet potato and also broccoli on the side. The dinners were simple but the details were executed perfectly. The dinners also included soup or salad which rounded out the meal and we left full and happy. The price was right on for what it was and we would definitely return, not only for the food but the wonderful charm of the restaurant and staff. Make sure to visit and enjoy for yourself on your trip to Sanibel.
I've been going to the timbers since they were on rabbit road. I've been away from sanibel for about 4 years and when I went to the timbers last weekend I was looking forward to the timbers sirloin, instead the most similar steak on the menu was a cheap New York strip, perhaps the worst one I've ever had. My wife had the stuffed shrimp, all stuffing, very little shrimp! She did say the stuffing was good. Go back to better quality food, please.
Correct. Unpleasant and quite expensive. The desserts, on the other hand, are huge and good.
Great place to eat. Food was very tasty and the people are very friendly.
Waiter was very unpleasant..food was mediocre. Decided to just get an appatizer..left and went to a better restaurant..island cow
This. is a very nice place.I really enjoyed it.. Food was great are meal was nice.
