Fantastic food with fantastic service in a great looking place. Highly recommended!
Fantastic food with fantastic service in a great looking place. Highly recommended!
Great atmosphere in an older building across multiple levels. Good selection of dishes with emphasis on fish as well as meats. Mixed green salad was good but pretty standard. Mushroom risotto had a flavorful but brothy sauce with hint of mushroom flavor. An off-menu vegetarian plate was just OK. Good, modest wine list; try the ones they import directly.
Wonderful food, fantastic, old world atmosphere. Creaky wood floors, beautiful inner patio.
We went for a work lunch and sat in the patio. It was really cute, and waiters were friendly. Wish the menu was bigger though! The kabob i got was good. Bread was ok
My son had his wedding here this weekend. The food was terrific, the venue was charming, and the staff couldn't have been more attentive. Dan took care of every detail and made the event a great success.
Beautiful antique decor and Atmosphere yet it was hard to breathe here. I'd go back as its magical yet the stuffiness is an issue
The tabard inn is an amazing hotel to stay at in a fantastic location. I definitely recommend it next time you're looking for a place to stay near Dupont. Just a note that they don't have any elevators (in case you have heavy bags or trouble with stairs).
The bar is great and makes consistently tasty cocktails. The restaurant is a bit more hit or miss. The breakfast is nice but dinner can fall into the "good but not great" category for a lot of items. The bacon wrapped dtaes were outstanding though!
It is certainly one of the most fantastic places in Dupont Circle. Perfect decor, nice atmosphere, beautiful people, wonderful food and very well organized and attentive service. Highly recommend going for brunch.
Furnishings are selected primarily for appearance over function
Had our Anniversary Dinner here. Great food. Great Service. Great atmosphere. They when provided free prosecco since it was our anniversary.
I absolutely LOVE this place. Great atmosphere and great food. Be sure to also check out the wine list!
Really excellent brunch food. If you're not in a hurry I highly recommend the weekend brunch.
Happy hour was surprisingly good especially for a hotel bar. Dinner was excellent. I had the lamb chops which were great and the wine was very affordable.
i know where I am going to stay in DC
I ve enjoyed my time very much
Thank you
Ate brunch in the courtyard. It had great ambiance. The food was excellent, but the cover over the courtyard leaked while it was raining.
Went for brunch. Great food. Great drinks. Great service.
Great food, service and atmosphere. I'd definitely go back.
Lovely cozy atmosphere, good ambience. The restaurant was busy but not overcrowded. Good food and reasonably priced.
Excellent menu leaning towards Italian but with many unique dishes. Good wine and spirits selection. Small and cozy space.
Very Antiquated, but very cozy! Would definitely stay again!
The atmosphere was amazing and warm. Neighbors walking in to share excellent jazz in front of the fire. The food was nice but could have been better. Had a hard time getting my coat and car at the end of the evening to be able to leave!
Extremely charming. Every room is unique. (Also we could hit three pokestops from the hotel if you care about that sort of thing)
Love the room and hotel atmosphere as a whole. However we had no hot water in our room.
Only had martinis at the bar, enjoyed the atmosphere
Was a really nice place to stay. The rooms are a little old and there is no tv but, that's part of the charm. I would definitely go back
Tons of lunch and brunch reviews but this is for their dinner. I had the Australian Wagyu beef entree which honestly wasn't too good. Little dry with not a lot of flavor. But everything else I had was fantastic. I had a couple of bites of the flounder, lamb chops, scallops, seafood pasta, and tuna. All were great, it'll just depend on your preference. The hazelnut chocolate dessert was also good. Service was fantastic too. The restaurant was a little loud but that could have been just the company around us. Either way a place that I would love to visit again but could only afford on very special occasions.
Brunch was incredible, the food was perfectly prepared and our server was attentive without being overwhelming. Everyone in my party ordered something different and we all enjoyed our food and drinks. Not a single bad comment.
The rooms are charming. Rstaurant service is to notch! My favorite place to stay when I'm in DC.
Tons of history. Food was very good. Service was quick and polite
Great atmosphere and chic environment this hotel stands out from the rest
If anybody is trying to find good deals for hotels visit RoomBully. com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere!
Warm and cozy with a nice happy hour and great staff and service. Attentive without intrusion. Wife loves the fireplace. We got a free appetizer because there was a mistaken order so they asked if we would like to try it. Delicious
A truly lovely place. Get the weird meats on the menu. Order the directly imported Italian wines and cocktails.
And just love the atmosphere.
Really good brunch! The eggs benedict was just perfect!
This little hotel/restaurant is a DC gem. It's a bit older, but that makes it charming. It has interesting art and good food and drink. I recommend for happy hour.
Burger was overcooked and dry but great bloody marys
Great location, live jazz some evenings and a great brunch.
Really beautiful interior, pretty tasty (if expensive food), but unfortunate experience. Two members of our party, myself and another who had tasted my steak, contracted substantial foodborne illness within 12-16 hours of eating it. It was undercooked by a lot. I frequently order rare, but figured not knowing the place I'd order medium rare, and it came out nearly raw with insufficient surface searing.
They also served us free drinks unannounced at the end of the meal, which would have been a kind gesture had we ordered any during the meal, but in our party was a recovering alcoholic, and we had accordingly only ordered water, juice, and soda throughout the meal.
I can see how others would enjoy this place and I'm sure it's frequently great, but I'm definitely not going back.
Amazing food!!! I went once with my mom and again with my boyfriend. It's a place where you can take anyone visiting. It's definitely one of the most romantic places in DC. Great food and ambiance. I absolutely love it!
One of the most unique places to dine at in DC. We've gone there once for dinner and another time for brunch. Both experiences we're outstanding.
Had a dinner here with friends. Love how quite and cozy it is. No unnecessary annoying loud music playing over speakers. Only music comes from the live jazz playing in the front lounge that provides very subtle background noise in the dining area. Food and drinks are excellent. Good wine list.
Great place for meeting people who you want to have conversations with over food and drinks.
My favorite inn in the world. Quirky, friendly, intimate, outstanding restaurant and bar.
Quaint little inn with a lot of history and character. We only had brunch there but they have delicious donuts and breakfast. The grits dish is delicious. Espresso drinks are soso but the food is pretty solid. Service is great. We had covered outdoor seating which was a lovely setting on a cool morning.
A truly unique place. Anti-cookie-cutter in every way. Though rooms are small, they have great beds, and the lounge and restaurant are fantastic. Warm and welcoming, it's equally great for reunions, events, romance and singles.
Great brunch. Good food and service and decor and atmosphere is great, especially the patio seating.
Quirky, friendly, and located right where you want to be. You stay at the Tabard for history and whimsy. No two rooms are the same. I consider that to be a virtue. If you have to have straight lines and sterile precision, look elsewhere. Recommended.
Only went for brunch at the restaurant. Everything was "ok."
Iconic DC haunt. Perfect fit either cocktails in the lounge or classic American fare. Located on a relatively quiet street off of the lively Dupont Circle. Popular with both locals and travelers alike.
Service was slow, but the setting was very interesting and cozy. It's not cheap, but their drink selection is good. The crowd is definitely older and less lively.
Continues to be one of the best lunches in DC. Check it out!
The main course was excellent but the salad course tasted off. I later got sick and never been back. I do hear they have excellent donuts, perhaps breakfast is their 'jam'?
A staple of Dupont Circle and Washington DC. The brunch is what is best known for--understandably--but, cocktails by the fire in the parlor are what have made this one of my favorite winter hangouts.
My wife and I have been on the search for the best brunch and this is it: BEST BRUNCH IN DC! Order one of their main dishes for brunch, but no matter what you order start off with their beignets.
If the weather is nice, ask to be seated outside. With the brick walls and the garden set up, this restaurant reminds me of a cool place in NYC.
Fantastic food and service. We had a room for 10 and it was great
Old school hotel bar, good atmosphere, beautiful patio
Great lounge area for drinks and light fare, as well as a full restaurant in the back. Beautifully decorated around Christmas time.
Can't fault the brunch, but popularity getting in the way of service somewhat.
Great food and drink. Perfect for a fireside chat and tipple.
Wasn't anything special, some of the food was cold, most of it warm. Took a very long time to get drinks. Wildly Overpriced. Staff was nice. Crowded. Note I ONLY experienced their Easter Buffet and have no opinion on any other feature offered by the establishment.
Loved the brunch at The Tabard Inn. We enjoyed the Chicken and Waffles, Eggs Benedict, and the Hanger Steak and Eggs the most. However you have to order their homemade donuts. The ambiance and decor are fancy and it's a true experience for a little old DC feel in a Victorian setting.
Went for brunch. I got eggs benedict with smoked salmon, and my girlfriend got the salmon hash. Housemade donuts for dessert. Everything was delicious. Only comment would be that my girlfriend's hash was a little over salted. The place looked great. A very comfortable rustic with mismatched furniture in the waiting area. All in all, great place that we will definitely go back to.
Had three course meal of salad, steak and a tart. Was delightful. Always love the Tabard!
We stopped by the bar for drinks. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The Inn has amazing decor.
Came here for breakfast and really enjoyed both my meal as well as the ambiance. The Inn has a classic DC feel. It's tucked away in the Topaz hotel and offers a quiet little getaway. I had the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon which was solid. Overall good go to for a quick and delicious breakfast in a great environment.
Eggs were bland. Nice atmosphere, under cooked steak
This is a great place for food and drinks with friends, especially in the winter when you can pitch up by the fire. They've unfortunately changed their back patio space a bit and it feels a lot less "outdoorsy" now that it has been closed in, but still a great space.
Wonderful dinner. Beet soup was great. Risotto was awesome. Would go again.
Really unique place. Enjoyed the sunken tub and missed aesthetic. Good service. Tasty food. The rooms need USB lamps or similar ports and the blankets, beds, and soundproofing leave something to be desired.
Fabulous, wacky, friendly, historic, convenient. If you can squeeze up a rickety staircase, and think doing so is charming, this might be the place for you. If you like real shabby chic, not the LA kind, this might be the place for you.
Great brwakfast! Old, historical building. need to be carefull with outlets, they are old
