Wonderful waffles! The aroma is heavenly, and the waffles are equally divine. The metal chairs were not very comfortable, so I found that I didn t I want to linger over my coffee which was a shame because the food was so tasty.

The waffles & organic, maple syrup were delicious! Topped with soft, slices of brie cheese, this dish was to die for! I would give it 5 stars, but their coffee was from Portland; I would think that could've been a few other local choices :(
This is a refresh take on a favorite food and a great addition to the downtown restaurant scene. I had the Audrey which had goat cheese, hazelnuts and honey and it was fantastic. I highly recommend trying this place and their variety of clever, fun waffle fare. My only critique would be that they told us syrup for our waffles would be an extra charge. When syrup is in your name, make it your thing and pass it out freely. Otherwise, this place is great and I will visit again!
We tried this place on a Saturday morning around 10 am...Got a spot and food quickly. We had the second breakfast waffle, the Elvis Waffle & Leslie Knope Waffle. I have a pickly 9 yr old who only eats plain pancakes with syrup & butter step out of her comfort zone try & eat all of the Leslie- leaving no but behind. The atmosphere and food presentation were on point. Pricing was relevant for the area it was located in. We will be back to try other combinations when we are in the mood for a sweet breakfast
First time we took our grandson for breakfast, great friendly staff & AMAZING! waffles from the basic to some pretty elaborate & tasty options. A definite must try, we will be back
The JG2 was delicious! Lemon curd was sweet but tangy, blueberries were fresh, and the waffle itself was amazing. Clean, friendly staff. Love supporting a small, family business. I will definitely be coming back.
Both got the ann waffle with the bacon. Crispy crumbled bacon piled on top of a really soft large waffle. The waffle has a really good flavor, not sweet. The real maple syrup adds the perfect sweet touch. Loved it!!
The staff are really sweet and the food and coffee are nice. They break up their waffles into two groups sweet and savory. I would say it's a bit expensive for 1 waffle but I'm hoping that it goes to better wages because the staff are great.
I was very excited to try the Syrup Trap. I love waffles! The atmosphere was sort of cafeteria-like, but very clean!
Prices were a bit high, but I was expecting a really high-quality waffle. And that's where this jumped the shark.
The waffle, while really nice looking, was really dry. I think it was aiming for an artisanal feel, but it missed the mark. It needed to be drowned in that shot glass of syrup in order to be palatable.
Sorry, Syrup Trap, there's a LOT of places around town right now with very high-quality breakfast food. I think you're going to need to bump up your game here.
I had the 2nd breakfast. It was so good. If you take a bite of the waffle by itself you will be amazed at the flavor it has all on it's on. I will be going back. Can't believe it has been open for 3 years and I hadn't heard about it.
Never have seen waffles done like this! My favorite waffle shop I've EVER BEEN TOO!!!! Check this place out to have some waffles I almost GUARANTEE you've never seen the likes of before! The coffee was good too, different flavor than normal which I liked shows they prolly use a special sourced coffee. Love this place GO THERE!
*I've been back a few more times and have found the espresso to be more consistent. It's not one of my favorites in Vancouver yet but definitely getting better. As they work out the kinks, I hope to see continued improvement. I'm increasing my review from a 3 to 4 star (update).*
I've been here 3 times now. The quality of shots is hit or miss. Great the first visit, so so the second and I threw the third visit's drink away. The waffles are good and the ingredients are high quality. It would be nice if the savory ones were a bit larger. It didn't feel like a meal and I can't justify $20 for two for lunch. I will go back in a month and see if things are better. Hopefully, I will be able to move this from a 3 to a 4 or 5. *I've been back a few more times and have found the espresso to be more consistent. It's not one of my favorites in Vancouver but definitely getting better.
My friend and I checked out syrup trap for the first time. We often travel to Portland to go to waffle window and we re looking for a place closer to home. This place did not disappoint! The place is very cute inside. I ordered the waffle with turkey, havarti, and bacon with raspberry preserves on top.
As an avid Parks n Rec fan, I was excited when I walked into this waffle place last year to find a few PNR themed waffles. These waffles are AMAZING. They've recently outdone themselves by making the Swanson Sammy. While it doesn't have all the eggs and bacon they have, it still would make Mr Swason proud. I highly reccomend this waffle house and please keep the Swanson Sammy on menu!!! (And add everyone else already! Treat Yo Self)
Love the waffles... Normally. We ve ordered a handful of times and the couve waffle is hands down one of their best! However, we ordered to go this time and once we got home - our waffles had a sour taste and we cut into them more towards the middle and it wasn t fully cooked. We called to discuss this, was put on hold for awhile and was rudely asked to call back because they were too busy to talk to us. I m appalled. Terrible customer service and our breakfast was ruined. We won t be back for awhile - love the waffles almost every time (not even gonna feed this to our dogs) but with terrible customer service, we won t be back
Delicious waffles and tasty coffee! We stopped by here on a whim on Sunday for brunch with a friend. I had their Banana Nut special and my husband had the Couve Club. Both were so yummy! I liked my husbands dish so much that I came back again on Tuesday to get it. They have a small desk and play area for kids which was perfect entertainment for our toddler.
Really nice and cozy place nestled near downtown Vancouver! Came here during their happy hour and it s 20% off mon - thurs! They have a cute kid play area too. I got the waffle with the prosciutto and pear and it was actually really good and filling and was sweet but not overwhelming and had a variety textures! Overall it was a fast service didn t wait any longer than 10 minutes and would come again!
The place is called The Syrup Trap but then they charge you for syrup?
You have to bus and clean your own table/pick up food/coffee at counter. We sat down and the table was dirty so we wiped it ourselves. This would be fine, but then they expect you to tip? What are we tipping for?
We ordered 3 waffles and two coffees. Total is 46.00. We were beyond shocked. How could waffles cost as much as a steak dinner? Very overpriced.
I gave it two stars because the waffles were tasty, but we were so put off by the price and the atmosphere that we really didn't enjoy them.
The bacon was not even slightly crispy. It was only semi cooked, rubbery, and very greasy. I'm guessing since the shop was closing in 6 minutes (as the worker told us, and how we could take our order and leave) she didn't have time to cook it thoroughly. Overpriced, $10 for a waffle with undercooked bacon is too much. And the waffle wasn't even a full waffle, had parts of it missing. 1st time there and definitely not impressed. Will keep going back to waffle window as they make good waffles.
Great new addition to the Vancouver food scene. The waffles were delicious and made just right. The staff were all friendly and helpful as well. Highly recommend!
The waffles were delicious and the portions were great. I ordered the Anne Fan w/ Peanut Butter (It had soooooo much bacon on it, almost too much.) and my wife ordered the Wapple Pie.
I would have given this a 5 star rating but... 1) The coffee could have been better. 2) It's a really long wait time (although, it is worth it.) 3) The cafe is pretty cramped and they didn't have a restroom. (They may share a restroom with the salon next door. If so, it wasn't clear and there was no visible signage.) 4) Their website could really use some work.
A combination of some outdoor and some indoor seating during this pandemic. Staff is very attentive and hard-working. I had the Couve Club which is a savory waffle with turkey, bacon and a raspberry jam. Very delicious and not overpowering with sweetness. Great spot for brunch.
Omg this place was great! I got the brie, pear prosciutto one and my bf got the 'couve one. Both were amazing. I couldnt help going back for more of the sweet bacon pieces on top of his, it was so crispy. Yum. Definitely try this place. I want to try one of the sweet ones next time.
The young lady working the counter was very sweet. The waffle was good, but it was just a waffle, mine had Bacon on it. The Bacon was not good, my wife had a sweet Waffle, it was ok. The Atmosphere is pretty good. Overall It was fine.
The waffles here are amazing. Docking a star because the sit down area is not family or large group friendly at all. It was awkward to navigate and find places for my family to sit and eat. The monkey waffle was great and so was the pear. I would go back but take out only.
Couve Club....change your life kinda amazing. I took it to-go and had the whole office asking what I ordered that smelled so fantastic. It was all the yumminess of a Monte Cristo without the deep fried yuckies
It was way too loaded up on the chocolate sauce. Waffle was good. Ended up feeling a little sick because of all of the excess sauce and overly sugared strawberries. Definitely not for diabetics.
Good waffles! They're kid friendly too. I had the second breakfast and it was yummy without being too heavy. They make a great latte too. I hope they add fried chicken to the menu.
My wife and I visit almost weekly and have never been disappointed. Coffee and waffles are always delicious, Bacon is always as I like it and very friendly staff.
So good. This little spot is charming and super clean. Espresso is great. Waffles amazing. Kid friendly. Located in adorable down town Vancouver. Close to i5 and hotels. Walking distance to everything
Waited nearly 40 minutes, no food. Went to check on the order and evidently they never sent it or something.
No real apology or sense of urgency. They half offered to remake it. At this point my Girlfriend is ready to go. When we asked for a refund we were told they would text the manager . Ok....
What a waste of my time money energy and effort. Would not recommend.
Update 10/4/20: Refund was received. I would like to try again and update my review accordingly as we were very excited to come.
Audrey with strawberries, side of bacon, and a pumpkin pie latte. It was so delicious! The bacon is thin which was great as a topping but I would prefer thicker for a side. I will definitely be going back to try all the savory waffles
Wonderful little shop. It's small and popular, so be prepared. Boyfriend and I had Elvis and Second Breakfast waffles, and they were amazing! Also had a wonderful glass of chai cold brew! ** Don't complain about syrup being extra, you don't need it!
Although they have a limited menu this place is a great breakfast spot if you want waffles, whether it be sweet or savory. Great little place to have breakfast with a small crowd.
I had the mojo jojo and it was the best waffle I've ever eaten! Crunchy caramelized outside, topped with ripe bananas, nutella and whipped cream. My fiance had the Anne fan and she loved hers as well. I would recommend this place to anyone! amazing
Their fare is waffles with various topping. I had a very good waffle topped with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Others has blueberries and lemon curd. House coffee was ok. They have other specialty coffees so maybe those were better.
My wife and I came here for my birthday breakfast. It was one of the best waffles I have had in a long time. Customer service is excellent and they got to know us while picking out our waffle.
