Pretty decent place to catch a live band, and a drink, but the bar only accepts cash, so kinda downer!
Loved the outdoor Summer Stage!! Saw CAKE perform. Small food and drink booths surrounding the outdoor stage, easy to be served quickly. Indoor bathrooms and outdoor porto-johns. Indoor venue intimate and chill, offering 40 yrs of history on its walls. Drinks priced too high for their weak potency (at least at a major concert). Pregame at one of the many great restaurants nearby & bring ur vape instead! Nice beaches in Asbury Park, makes for a full day at the shore.
Always a good fun time, have some obscure bands as well as some names you'll know. Love the summer stage
Saw Pigeons Playing Ping Pong on feb 10th. The staff handled a sold out show very very well, the bouncer crew was friendly also and you dont usually get that at a lot of venues.
You can feel the History as you walk into this Rock and Roll Temple
Awesome historical rock and metal place in New Jersey!
The Best Venue To See Live Music In Asbury, Don't Even Go To The Wonder Bar!!! They Don't Compare To How Amazing And Intimate The Stone Pony Is...
I love seeing shows here! Perfect classic outdoor venue.
Great place to get up and close and personal with the musicians and music
The 5 stars are for their sustainability for about 50 years. I did see Bruce (The Boss) back in the 80s when in college. I recently went again and nothing has changed but the summer stage. I even remembered where the bathrooms were. LoL There are different bars so it's not hard to get a drink. Lots of pictures of people and bands who played there. Enjoy the show
Just go there. You don't need a reason. It's awesome
great service great people great space. will come again.
A classic venue with a great outdoor stage for bigger shows in the summer. Right across from the boardwalk so food and/or drinks before and after a show is super convenient.
A wonderful club! The sound is well built up, pretty quickly comes into balance after the concert begins.
Great venue to see concerts inside for smaller bands and outside for the summer stage. Lots of big name acts.
Casual. Great for short intimate performances. Bartending services could use an upgrade
I dread coming to this venue. I only come here to see artists that aren't playing elsewhere. Awful set up when sold out means some people can't see stage.
Never honest about stage or door time. Show up 2 hours early to be a sardine in the middle of an uneven floor waiting for the show to start while they play lullabies. Sound equipment is worn out and mediocre sounding. Maybe because the room itself sucks. Cheap tacky looking guitars line the walls. Local artists tell me management is trashy.
Live music is great and the location is superb. Boardwalk is right there.
Don't need to say much..it's the stone pony..killer venue!
The classic venue if you haven't been here you're not a true New jerseyan
Good venue. Some good bar staff & some very poor ones
Classic music bar, teaming with music history. But come on, fix your ceiling tiles, and dust a bit. It's just lazy.
One of the best outdoor venues for smaller shows. Classic spot right on the beach
Really good sound and reasonably priced drinks make up for overly aggressive security and terrible food.
Great staff from bartenders to sound guy. Whether a fundraiser or top talent the stone pony knows how to deliver!
This place has an amazing sound engineering crew. I can't get over how impressed I am with their talents.
I absolutely love this venue. This is my second time here and it's all because of these guys, King's X. They've been coming here and doing their shows for over 30+ years and I found it to be the type of place of music authenticity.
The outdoor venue was pretty good, drinks were cheap and strong. The indoor bathrooms are super cisnormative though. Just a word of caution to my fellow trans/nb folks, it is not safe to use the bathroom you identify with if you aren't *passing*, stick with the port-a-potties. Womp womp :/
Fun historical venue... Not great when it's super crowded for us short people
Went to the summer stage and had a blast. Summer stage is outside and you are exposed to the weather. The inside is small but great for shows.
It's the Stone Pony, I dont need to talk about all the great music history that this place oozes, but it's a great venue!
Such a gem. The summer stage is great, but since it has such a big name, sometimes a big act will play in the bar over the winter and it is such an incredible experience. Plus the beach is across the street and asbury park is such a cool town
Great place to see a show!! And then there's always more fun stuff happening nearby after the show on the boardwalk.
Amazingly Fun and Energetic sold out show with Remember Jones
Great place, awesome atmosphere, only problem I felt was the fact the front stage was split, 90% for the above 21 and a small sliver of the stage to the under 21 crowd. Expensive drinks and crowded around the small bar
Thank New Jersey, for one outstanding, rock venue. You'll find, a great time here.
Saw the bouncing souls here. Bad ass pleace, beer, scene & venue.
Best bar @ Asbury Park *u*
Any Summer Stage concerts can be heard from the boardwalk
I love going here for concerts but you lose three stars for environmental reasons. I was not allowed to bring my reusable water bottle in. I've been to 50 concerts this year and you are the only venue that did not allow it. I have vowed to not use single use plastics so I will not return to a venue that will not let me hold that goal. Shame on you guys and for the sake of the environment you guys need to change that policy.
Really cool, historic music venue. Definitely go see a show here.
Great venue.. Had fun.place to go if you ever in Asbury Park on the Jersey Shore
A lot of history there and it's a small venue great to see a show their...
I love catching a show at this piece of new jersey history. Everyone should see someone they like here.
I love the Stone Pony. The history, the location, I just love it. However, that only applies to indoor shows. Outdoor shows are a pretty horrible experience. They really oversell tickets, so it is extremely cramped. I have been to 50+ shows, and it was by far the worst. Save your money and listen from the boardwalk, or rent a hotel and watch from the balcony!
Decent, small, music venue/bar. Bathrooms are clean!
Sound is very good. The venue not so much. Apparently if you have big tots and flash security you can get away with doing whatever you want.
What a coolness place! Definitely recommend. The door people were very nice along with the bartenders. Don't forget to tip! ^_^
Didn't actually go inside, but listened and watched from the boardwalk. They have great lineups and this revitalized asbury park music scene kicks arse. If the shows sold out, don't fret. You can still get great seats on the boardwalk or street.
