The Station House Hotel Review

attended a wedding here and it was amazing beautiful day, the ground in and around the hotel are amazing, and staff were nice.

I thought the bedroom was very bad value for 140 Euro a night.

Had a meal here with friends.. Beautiful place with exceptionally good food..Staff helpful and friendly..

Got married here. Amazing day. The staff were great and the venue itself is wonderful. Rooms are basic but nobody cares when everything else is great.

The Station House Hotel crew made our day awesome! They took care of all details and exactly how we wanted! We have got so much attention since the first day when booked the date of the wedding. When I came there to get ready for the ceremony in the morning, staff were so kind and helpful. The decoration was a dream! So sofisticated, delicated and beautiful!
And finally, dishes were fabulous! All the guests loved the food and how the staff worked!
We recommend 1000% this place for your magic day, like we had! Thank you so much, The Station House Hotel!

Is there a minus 5 * ??? Steer clear for a wedding. Disgraceful! They also remove bad ratings from google so if you read this now, save it. It ll begone in 24 hours. Do not book a wedding here

Was put in off site accommodation "which is a bedroom in a house" for a wedding with a load of young lads drinking all night could barely sit on tge toilet it was that cramped. My claustrophobia got the better of me and i refused to stay. Handed my room key back to the girl at the desk and explained my situation. And i was literally laughed at.. so unhappy with this hotel.. ill never stay here as long as i live.. p.s im still waiting on a managers call back over a week later. So unprofessional. I feel sick to my stomach when i think about this place.

Lovely family lunch on Easter Sunday but lamb was TOUGH. When we mentioned it to the owner we were dismissed which was the downside to the day

Beautiful. Went for a wedding and stayed the night. And very accommodating

Staff very unfriendly. I called for a fan for the room, and then I had to call back because the didn't have enough towels for the room. I was told, tell the person who brings you the fan. We unable to watch the Dublin Mayo game in "The Library" bar, because they allowed a family with numerous children overtake the space. It was suggested that I go across to the Station House bar, which was even worse. Several children in the bar area taking away seats from customers. Forced to stand, a waiter walked past twice, never asked if I wanted a pint, but as he passed by the third time, he shot me a "not a good place to stand."

Absolutely beautiful location, great staff and lovely food, we were very well looked after and will be back for sure.

Rooms very small shower clogged up with timescale only a few holes letting water out. We were only there one night so it did us for that. The at reception booking was I thought a bit rude. The bar was over priced. 5.50 for a pint and 3 for a 7 up.

Went for Sunday lunch and the place is very nice & different from the norm but the restaurant is very cramped. Had to keep going outside for fresh air and a break from the noise. The food was ok. I won't be in a hurry to go back.

Found no one to seve coffee or tea had to wait till the girl came in. ive been to hotels where your offered tea / coffee on Arrival.rooms noisey you can hear people talking outside. some staff good others not helpful. manger needs to be trained up.to be poilete.he should be in the u.s.a. he would out the door.cant sayvi enjoyed stay.ment to stay another night but just didnt feel we could.

I stayed during the week with my partner, the staff were excellent and the bed rooms were very clean and tidy.
We decided to eat in the restaurant on the first night and the food was amazing the staff in the restaurant and the bar were very friendly.
I loved this hotel as it is a lovely place to relax and unwind we enjoyed the beautiful gardens that this hotel has I would recommend it to other couples that just want to relax and because the food from breakfast to dinner is amazing keep up the good work

First time was given a seat and the waiter passed us several times and went to everyone who came in after us so after half an hour we left then the second time the exact same thing happened we asked could we be served and we were told yes we are very busy we will be back to you soon and we waited near an hour not even a drink so sadly we didn't even get to try the food, nice looking restaurant though

A lovely place to go for a meal and perfect for a small wedding.

Nice atmosphere, the food is lovely. My only complaint would be slight lack of choice in main course.

This was my second time, but certainly not for the last time since I like the overall ambiance very much. The rooms are clean, the food good.

Staff are really friendly, can't do enough for you. Our room was spacious, immensely comfortable and spotless clean. The food is simply fantastic and offers real value for money. We ate in the restaurant on our first night and in the bar on our second and the food was delicious on both occasions, I would recommend the chorizo carbonara, but make sure to ask for the chefs special soup, the beef and tomato, it's not on the menu, but it's heavenly. After eating, we retired to the lounge to occupy a table by the fire before turning in for a sound night's sleep in an extremely comfortable four post bed. If you're looking for somewhere a little special to stay, I couldn't recommend the station house hotel highly enough.

I thoroughly enjoyed my short visit here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Able to advise of local places to visit. Food excellent. Beautiful setting, grounds lovely set with flowers, lights and setting for an outdoor wedding.

Firstly amazing looking grounds and buildings, it just looks magical. I have to say the staff are very friendly and helpful can't say enough of how great they are. I had one of the most amazing meals here, which was all locally sourced. The only thing I thought was the dining room was very noisy, due to all the chatting of everyone there. The room could do with some acoustic treatment to help reduce the noise. The bedrooms look amazing and a very large but I found them cold, I didn't mention it till the next day so partly in own fault. I was informed by a staff member the heating was on a timer that they could of turned it back on if I had ask, like I said it own fault. But I didn't expect to have to ask. Over all great experience

Our friends got married here. It was an absolutely amazing setting for a wedding and from my point of view the day went seemlessly and well handled by the staff who were very helpful and friendly. I can only speak highly of it as a beautiful setting for a wedding. There was one problem, on the morning of the wedding they were having issues with the boiler and unfortunately no hot water. Obviously most of the guests where there for the wedding and so it was cold showers for everyone staying in the barn rooms. We had a lovely day, went to bed with a heavy head and sore dancing feet only to wake up the following morning again to no hot water. They staff were very apologetic and offered a partial refund which we accepted. It was a small issue in my opinion but worth mentioning as I heard they've had similar problems before. Hopefully they've now had a new boiler fitted to cope with the number of guests showering. I would still highly recommend this stunning location.

Had a very disappointing experience at this Hotel. We went there around lunch time on a Sunday for some food in the bar and the customer service was the worst that I have ever experienced.

There were only a few customers in the bar when we arrived with plenty of staff around and yet it took over 50 minutes for the food to arrive and the drinks we ordered never arrived at all.

We will not be returning to this establishment

The bar always has a nice relaxed atmosphere, perfect for going for a few drinks with family. Beautiful building and outdoor setting.

An oasis of relaxation in the heart of the countryside of Co. Meath. This place is a gem. Once a working train station it has been tastefully converted to a boutique hotel venue for weddings and private events and as a short stay get away retreat
The furnishings and decor are to a high standard andv have been carefully chosen to complement the character of the nineteenth century buildings. In addition to the many original features and objects of curiosity from earlier days there is a host of eye catching decorative Object D'Arte The building itself is set in a lovely woodland garden with numerous attractive features including pergolas, flower arches, stonework, sculpture and cast iron. The front terrace is set up with several very attractive white cast iron tables and chairs where one can relax in the open air. Spent the night in the 'Station Masters Suite'. Very spacious and bright with a lovely four poster king size bed and a separate bathroom.
The staff are all very friendly, pleasant and helpful. Finally, the food. Absolutly excellent! Four courses each better than the previous one. I sent compliments to the chef. Well deserved!
My wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I look forward to coming back again in the future. Well done everybody at The Station House Hotel!

Lovely setting & buildings - unfortunately food did not live up to experience - fillet steak small overcooked & overpriced - would go back but not for a meal

Having been at a wedding in this hotel I found that there ability to cater for disabled people was absolutely disgraceful. No access at all was provided. On talking to the manager she told me that nobody told her there was a disabled person coming to the wedding. That the door that was there was blocked by tables and we would have to wait until dinner was over. Make your own assumption from that. Wouldn't darken ther door again.

We went on a 2 night stay as a present from my parent's. Why there? Well, last year, we booked it as our wedding venue last year. From start to finish, every little detail was beautiful. The grounds are amazing, while the staff treated us fantastic. Food presentation was lovely while it also tasted fantastic. Couldn't recommended the place more.

Food average- service deplorable - 2.30 lunch finishes after 6 pm.

The setting is beautiful food first class. Staff so friendly great service.

The hotel itself was good but we were attending a wedding and the service was ridiculously slow. Dinner took 4.5 hours form us being seated until desserts were brought out.

Am sure the place is great as I've being here before but unfortunately the Christmas dinner was way out there not very nice TBH for the price should have just kept the food simple it's a Christmas dinner no need to dress it up.stick to the basics the cheese cake ? If that what is was,was far removed from a cheese cake never again for this event the staff where great and the venue is excellent just got it wrong this time I'm my opinion
