Loved staying at this beautiful boutique hotel! It's in a superb location - right at the heart of the East Village. The service is wonderful, the room is a good size, the amenities are great, and the view is absolutely spectacular - all you need in New York City. They've got a great restaurant (Narcissa) downstairs, and the garden space even the weather is nice. Perfect place to be based when in New York.

Very cute place to go and grab a drink. But the menus in the winter garden are rather limited and don't sounds appealing at all. Also they are not very accommodating with getting your own teapee, so we had to share one(even though there was other vacant tents) . Very pricey menu and to reserve a teapee you need to spend 100$ per person( that's ridiculous)! I recommend getting the winter toddy, it was really good!

Stayed at The Standard last weekend. I paid extra for a corner room. Was in room 1407.

The pros: The view was great. The bed was super comfortable. Location was excellent.

The cons: there were stains on the carpet. The shower handle was broken (still usable). No complimentary coffee / tea available in the room. No complimentary water.

Overall, a pleasant stay but it failed to meet my expectations for the price tag.

This was one of the best hotel stays I've had in a very long time. David, the assistant manager, really went out of his way to make everything perfect. Great shower too, which is kind of a big deal for me. My room was exquisitely clean, extremely comfortable, and beautifully designed. This is my new favorite hotel.

Nice hotel. My room had a great view, comfortable furniture and was zen. Good bar and breakfast, fairly priced. My only gripe is the $25 "facility" fee, which seems to be the trendy grift at big city hotels.

HORRIBLE, I woke up covered in bug bites, they said they aren t sure if it s spiders or bed bugs. They said best case scenario after their investigation they ll cover medication if the bites get infected or possibly refund me ONE night out of the two I stayed. They clearly don t clean their rooms. Steer clear!

Located in the heart of East Village New York, this is indeed a very stylish and nice hotel. Rooms are nice fashonable and comfortable. Our room did not have any coffeemachine though, this is standard in such high-end hotels. The best advantage is the walking distance from here to NYU, plenty of shops including restaurants, chocolate boutiques, baleries, parks, and so on.

The hotel is nice and feels new but missing a few marks to get 5 stars. The bathroom needs a small hand. There is no towel holder close to the shower, the towel mat for getting out of the shower gets stuck on the shower door, the hair dryer physically hurt my ears. It needs to be thrown away. The front desk and bars associated with the hotel are awesome! Narc Bar was cool! There is only 1 outlet strip on one side of the bed. The other side has nothing. Really needs a outlet there. Room service took an hour to deliver cold eggs and potatoes. They did take them off the bill which was appreciated. This is great clean place to stay just needs some tweaks.

The hotel is highly recommended! Starting with the great service, the reception at the front desk was very accommodating. Since it was early in the morning arrived, we had asked if we could have a room before the usual check in at 15 o'clock. Then we got the offer, they call us, as soon as the room is free. The call came already at 11 o'clock in the afternoon! Our room was on the 17th floor, despite low budget. We had an incredible view of the Empire State Building and the entire skyline. We also visited the bar in the conservatory. Great drinks, great atmosphere! Everything was so great that I would definitely visit TheStandard again.

The Standard was a cute, quirky hotel in the lower East side of Manhattan. Our room was small but luxurious. The bath tub was an oasis with a dimmable light and a large tub to soak in after a day of walking. The bed was so comfortable with plenty of pillows. The view was INCREDIBLE. I could've stared at the night skyline all night.

My room was broken into by someone. All my vaporizer bags ripped into. Don't trust this hotel. They banned me. I've been a customer since 1999 in LA and spent over 20k CLV ( customer lifetime value) I will never stay there again. I spent 2000 in 1 week and they still did not support me....a longtime client. Sad.

I think that Stanley Kubrick might have designed their Lobby restrooms. Not because there was a guy in a kabuki mask tearing me off single sheets of four-ply toilet paper, but because the lighting and sound design are terrific. Don't you wish that people talked about the lighting and sound design of public restrooms more often?

Luxury hipster is how I would describe this hotel. Amazing service, and a gorgeous, unique building. I loved the view from my room, and the shower is incredible. They have a steam shower setup, so enjoy it. :) Very considerate of them to provide earplugs, though I did not need them at all and found my room very quiet. Minibar totally stocked with /everything/ you might want. Breakfast options are ok, but somewhat limited.

I used to go the the standard in the west vill: upon its arrival it was almost impossible to get into if u didnt know the host... The east village standard is not as intense... Its a home away from home... Located on the Bow: its got THE STANDARD sign upside for all tourists to miss... Great place to go Thursdays... Weekends are a lil nuts for me... I go about once a month or if theres an event maybe more... As for the Bow hotel: the rooms arnt all that big... Its the size of an east vill studio but there's something magical about that place... Ive def def been to the The Stand triplefold compared to the BowHote alas theyre both discerning: lovely: per encore... If I had to chose Id go with BowHote... But thats just me: experience both and make yer own call...

Want to give this place 5-stars, it's just not happening. There are a lot of good things about this place - great location, bar is open late, the garden's a great place to lounge, and it's strange/funky/fun which I think are all wonderful things.

Two less stars because we didn't get the room we paid full price for and the staff didn't seem to care. To the hotel's defense, they let us check in early. The two men checking us in said that a room was available for us, but didn't say that it was over 100 sq feet smaller than the room we paid full price for and that the room they could put us in was on a lower floor. No one followed up with us after to make sure we were happy, and the staff didn't seem to care about how satisfied hotel guests were. When we brought it up, they said something like "sorry, the 10th floor is different than our other floors." How were we supposed to know that?

We stayed 4 nights - had a nice view, but not the floor to ceiling windows or large king suite that we really looked forward to and paid for.

The message here is it's a cool property, but you'll need to be very proactive about managing your stay because the majority of the staff could care less about keeping you satisfied. Also, there were multiple staff members with poor attitudes - it honestly seemed as though they thought they were too cool to be doing their job. There's enough rudeness and arrogance in the world - I don't expect to have to face it in the hotel.

Just overall really bad customer service. The only saving grace were the housekeeping staff - they were nice, attentive, and pleasant.

I enjoyed staying at this hotel. Great location. The staff were very friendly. I had a minor issue with the room and the staff quickly corrected it. They have everything in the room that you would need and I had a great view of the Empire State Building. The view from the top is great. I would definitely stay here again.

This Standard is the best of them all, no attitude, down to earth, great service from Will and Aiden and others. Perfect location, better views than most any other NYC hotel. Stick with the even room numbers... They're corner rooms. Rivington used to be my favorite, now it's this place... Standard East Village, do it, you won't go wrong!

Unfortunately front office team are very unhelpful for international guest. Stayed at The Standard twice now, thought I would give them a second chance after the first bad experience, but second visit has been even worse with the hotel failing to cancel a pre-approval on my American Express claiming first it was 'declined' yet it was still processed but they 'cannot see it' -- they even made me provide an alternative card on check-in and settlement of my account despite the pre-approval being charged. Thank goodness for the great service at American Express and they have been able to clear things from there side. Sadly, I wouldn't recommend The Standard.
