The hotel bar was great for a cold night. We were seated in the outdoor patio, which had plenty of heaters that kept the space nice and toasty. I ordered the Standard beer on draft and it came in a big stein/mug. More beer than I expected for a hotel bar.

This is among my go to places for an excellent and exciting cocktail in a comfortable but upbeat and trendy setting. Mixologists not bartenders apply their trade here. You're in good hands here. Extremely professional and talented. Music is not overbearing and adds to the mood. Duck on it and enjoy.

I almost don't want to write this review and keep the crowds away, but here was my experience: Drinks at the Garden at the Standard Hotel was a great experience. To keep the outdoor space available now that the winter weather has come, they put up little yurts with heat lamps in the garden. Somehow, magically, they're not packed. For a little while, you can imagine you're not still in NYC. Drinks were expensive and the service wasn't super attentive, but I had a great time with some friends and it was worth it to not be packed in to a space with tons of other people.

Clean room. Friendly helpful staff. Nice little cafe/bar by the lobby. Very comfortable bed. Our high window wouldn't latch. So high winds would jiggle it thru the night. Views from our room were amazing.

Requested a quiet room with a great view and lots of natural light. Got exactly that, with decent space for NYC hotel room. Close to subway and good times in the Village, made my short stay very enjoyable. I'd definitely book it again if returning to that area.

small rooms but otherwise elegant and chic. Close to the lower east side galleries and chic boutiques. I love staying here and walking down the lower east side and dining and shopping. It's suits every need and they have a gym!

Tacky. Small rooms with a noisy mini fridge and fairly bad isolation. People at the front desk were super friendly but that doesn't make it up for the rest. As I said, I found this hotel pretentious and kinda tacky. Just for giggles, check out their online store and you'll see what I mean.

People at the hotel are super. I would like to thank Paige, for making our stay extremely special and divine.
Will always be coming back to the standard when I am in the states, a hotel you never want to leave.

Had a terrible experience with the management here. Extreme rudeness. Our room was not ready at the time they had told us. Put us in a waiting room which we then got kicked out of and had to wait outside in the rain for our room to be ready. Please coordinate your services better. Wow!

Iconic views, clean and bright design. The best part is the friendly and experienced staff. I accidentally left my prescription sunglasses here and they safely held onto them until I was back again to pick them up on my next trip. What could have been seen as an annoying inconvenience they handled with grace and style.

This is a hip, happening place. The building is beautiful, the elevator is stunning and the restaurants are packed and lively. The rooms are a decent size for NYC, but could definitely be a bit bigger. Nice place overall though!

The room was good, the waiter was very good, the food was very good, it was a bit expensive but worth it. The style of the room is the best - very warm, the decor is art and modern. The food is also very good. I recommend renting a bicycle around the tour because the taxi is more expensive. If you need an airport shuttle service, you can book it at the front desk. The driver is very good and the charges are very reasonable.

For me, the worst hotel chain in New York. Last year I was in the Meatpack District, Highline and the experience was ominous. I decided to give it a new chance since I had to stay in the Village and I still regret it. Overpriced price for a hotel with a lot of noise. The heating by air broke in December and came out cold. Although they sent a technician they could not fix it and I had to be with the device turned off. I left some bags of something I bought and lost it for a whole day. They did not know what they had done with them, and they were valuable things. I asked for a taxi service to the airport and I arrived half an hour late. Take a toast for breakfast, which was served on a hard bread with some avocado and a juice, in the expensive restaurant and they told me that due to the "inconveniences" due to the loss of the bags they invited me. $ 16 Surprise when they loaded it on the card. I guess the bar is very lively and "cool", because until late at night you can hear the noise from the sixth floor, but as a hotel is worth nothing. Double bad experience. Never more.

So first off, make sure you tell your Uber driver to take you to the Standard in East Village. As there is another Standard Hotel in the meat packing district. Secondly, ask for a room as high as possible.

The best things about this hotel is the location, ...

The best things about this hotel is the location, the views from the room (if your room is on the higher floors), and the comfy beds. The rooms are somewhat stylish but have a lot of issues:

1) Our room with a queen bed was really tiny (and I'm used to small rooms coming from Europe)

2) The bathroom has no heater and felt really cold all the time: this is not acceptable for a hotel of this category, I had heated bathroom floors in other cheaper hotels in Manhattan. We could leave the bathroom door open to make the bathroom warmer, however, this was not possible while we were sleeping as there is not curtain in the bathroom.

3) They provide a BLACK soap which makes the basin look dirty after washing your hands, this is such a stupid idea!

4) There was no kettle of coffee machine available in the room, again this is something unacceptable at this price range

5) The doors of the rooms are really cheap and make a loud noise when they are closed. We could hear all the doors opening/closing from our room. And because our room was tiny, the door was next to the bed, so you can imagine how quiet this was...

6) The restaurants/bars were super noisy on the ground floor in the evening. Luckily we didn't hear anything as we were on the higher floors.

Staff was nice. Rooms were on the small side, toilet paper was cheap and amenities were limited ( no shower cap, soaps, etc). Bar and restaurant were pricey but that's the scene there. Overall a good stay. Beds were comfortable and there are Bluetooth speakers in the rooms.

My boyfriend purchased the hotel room for my birth...

My boyfriend purchased the hotel room for my birthday. We arrived with a few friends (which we were told over the phone other people were allowed in the room) and waited for the check in process. My boyfriend was told that they were not able to give him his room because he didn't have "certain things on his ID." When I went to talk to the manager, Kevin Chong, he told me "look at his ID and yours, you will see the differences." He NEVER explained what the differences were and commented about how there were more than two people who would be in the room. If the ID was the issue, stating that amount of people there is irrelevant. (also, if there were only two people allowed in the room that was fine. & if so, why did they tell us over the phone it was okay?)

Two days after the incident, I called anonymously to book an overnight hotel room & asked detailed questions about the requirements to stay in the room. AGAIN, I was told I can have people in the room (a few friends obviously not a party) AND that all they needed was an ID or a passport. I even asked if the ID had to have anything SPECIFIC and they said NO.

Me and my boyfriend are people of color and definitely felt we were discriminated against. We both have valid IDs and are over the age of 21. I felt disrespected that Kevin the manager couldn't even explain the differences or give us a valid reason as to why our IDs were not good enough to use. I also felt disrespected that one of their employees LAUGHED in our face while we were speaking with the manager.

I AM HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED AND I WILL NEVER EVEN ATTEMPT TO STAY HERE AGAIN. IF YOU ARE PEOPLE OF COLOR TRYING TO STAY HERE THEY WILL TREAT YOU DIFFERENT AND TURN YOU AWAY

******I WOULD LIKE TO ADD, AFTER THE HOTEL WROTE UNDER MY REVIEW, I REACHED OUT TO THEM VIA EMAIL & THEY BLOCKED ME BEFORE RECEIVING MY EMAIL... THIS MAKES ME BELIEVE THEY SEEM TO ONLY CARE FOR THE REVIEW & CONTACTED ME FOR SHOW.. ******

We booked through the OneNight app and got a big room with great views. The furniture in the room, the carpet and the bathroom were already very worn and a bit grubby. For one night it was fine.

We need to live near LaGuardia Airport, but the hotel is not too far from Manhattan. The room was clean and spacious. The shower head leaked and the bathroom door was a little problem, but it was fixed soon. Breakfast is good, check-in is smooth, parking is reasonable, $20 for the whole day. In short, it is a good place.

Terrible experience - the room I booked wasn't honored upon check in, then I ended up getting charged $100 more for the room they put me in, they never sent me a bill to my email (which I provided to them twice) or slipped me a paper copy so I had to call and ask for it after I saw the ridiculous pending charge on my card. The guy who answered my call asked, "Well, did you ask for the bill?" Now I have to deal with accounting to get this fixed. One of the worst customer experiences at an outrageous price. There are tons of options in NY - pick something better than this!

A neighborhood favorite since they rehabbed the truly boring old cooper square hotel space. A welcome edition to the east village. Cocktails at Narcbar are fantastic and the beer garten and cafe are great hangouts and excellent for people watching!
