Me and my best friend stayed in this hotel during ...

Me and my best friend stayed in this hotel during eid al adha and it was also her birthday celebration. 20-22 August 2018 in room 782. We hoped to enjoy our stay however it was not how we expected. And we ended up being very disappointed with our stay and the hotel.

The service was good in beginning at check in but than they gave us incorrect room: a non smoking room, although from beginning we requested a smoking room 2 times: before check in and during. Once we arrived at the room we realized it is a non smoking room. They offered to change it but than we decided to stay in same room because we liked it. Also they forgot to provide a birthday cake for my friend and when i called they apologized and than we got it. So it was ok.

The room in general is beautiful but the facilities are not amazing. Air conditioning was hard to manage.

Hotel facilities are very nice in general but we had hard times with lost and found department of St Regis. When we stayed at adult pool we forgot our cap there and next day we tried to find it but lost and found department in St Regis was very slow and not helpful only when i shouted that we will leave hotel only than they found it.

Next day when we checked out hotel kindly offered us late check out which was great, but than we forgot inside the room 2 bottles of new alcohol: 1 bottle rose wine and 1 litter big Jagermeister. After 3 hours we left from hotel and realized we forgot it in the room, so same evening we called hotel and asked to help us to get the bottles and they couldn t find them and they said next day they will call us and find them however they never did even though i spoke to lost and found and to the general manager who personally called me that evening. Still nothing from hotel side! I am very upset with the hotel! I wish they would handle it differently and at least give us a call to apologize but noone even contacted us.

Hopefully my complain will be helpful!

The best hotel in Abu Dhabi ! The staff is amazing, always somewhere around to assist you. The chef is great because the food is so delicious. Definitely the best beach on Sadiyat Island! I would recommend it to everyone and we will visit it again soon for sure!

The moment you walk in you get the beautiful view of the sea but than you turn right to check in and tell them your name the lady was soo overwhelmed that she barely looked at us or told us how long we should wait she just pointed at the seats and said sitt here. Finally after a wait it was our turn to check in we have informed them about the remarks (baby crib and our 5th year wedding anniversary) just incase. We entry the room very nice and big! I love the bathroom soo huge. We went swimming came after few hours back and still no crib! We called and asked again, they said it will come up now. We left for dinner and went to the Thai restaurant with a beautiful view. We ordered our dish at 7:15pm and received 2 main courses at 8:30pm. After that we were to tired my baby girl (9month old)was exhausted and just wanted to sleep! If they would have told us it will take an hour we would have ordered room service. I ate quickly and went to the room hoping the crib is in there. We called again than my husband went to the manager twice and we finally received it at 9:30pm. In the end we were so stressed and disappointed that we just wanted to sleep. We checked out before noon since we just wanted to leave this hotel we have spoken to the Manager again and he did not care and seemed very cold to us. This was our 5th year anniversary I would like not to remember! Thank you St Regis for making it a very disappointed experience!

After planning to go I dont know how many times I finally made it to the hotel.
On the drive up the view does not disappoint (in daylight- I've been many times at night to the ballroom).
The valet parking attendants were welcoming and helpful.
The view as you walk into the foyer was amazing and like a dream = blue sky with palm trees.
The staff had already told me which way to go..... we walked out of the lift and went outside. Easy you would think but can be a little confusing when going to the pool and beach.
The changing rules are nothing to write about and a HUGE disappointment compared to the sister hotel a short distance away.
The pool was lovely and a great view to boot; quiet and easily accessible for my 2 young sons.
Disappointed with the helpfulness of staff when on the way to the Sandcastle Kids Club.
Sandcastle club was lively and my sons loved playing in the water. The staff and facilities were amazing.
Food was okay = expensive; not a wide variety for children..... eat at the kids club as better deal for their food.

Shower head in changing room didnt work and the shower on the wall was very low if your an adult..... changing rooms were warm and AC couldn't even be felt.

On leaving and close to the doors to the lift i almost slipped.... very disappointing that the tiles are very slippery no sign and noone around..... what would have happened to someone alone or elderly

Really blown away by this hotel! Fits the bill if you are a family with young children looking for some quality time at the beach.
Pool/ beach:
Excellent location on the beach. The surf can be rough at times, so not always suitable for swimming, but the excellent pool area with ample space and number of loungers/ cabanas was the perfect complement. Cabanas aren't readily available and need to be pre-booked, sometimes days in advance, but definitely worth the small effort! Poolside food top quality with prices to match. Be prepared to spend a small fortune on your snacks.
General areas:
Very well-kept grounds. Hotel surrounded by apartment complex that seems to be part of the resort. Lobby is true to the very high standards set by the top 5-star hotels in the UAE: classy, spacious, modern and relaxing.
Room:
We stayed in a premium sea view room with 2 queen beds. Phenomenal ocean view! And balcony also great. What was unique about this room compared to similar rooms at other resorts, was the sheer size of the bathroom, which stretched parallel to the length of the room. This meant his and hers sinks either side of the vast walk-in shower and also separate bathtub and toilet.
Food:
WOW! Chapter on it's own. The buffet restaurant is so good, there's no need to explore other places really. Breakfast is an exercise in opulent gluttony. Too much choice. At peak times though, it was rather busy and staff had to work very hard to keep up with all the guests. Also smoking in the outdoor seating area is not appreciated and very 1980's. Just ban it!
Kids club:
Slightly offbeat access: you need to walk all the way around the kids' club building to get in. Once inside there's plenty of fun activities. Also lots to do out on the beach with beach football. Since we were there over Halloween, there was some pretty advanced face painting going on and a helluva lot of candy on offer!

Great hotel we had a suite with 80 sqm. 2 bathrooms Great service Every day a fresh fruit basket in the room. This suite had its own butler. On the beach and at the pool were service staff who served one with water and so on.
Food was great across the plant was a grocery store and a shopping arcade

First the good: the St Regis Saadiyat is a very ni...

First the good: the St Regis Saadiyat is a very nice SPG property located on a huge beach, in yet not too developped Saadiyat Island. Staff at checkin was courteous and efficient. Our suite was spatious, in perfect condition, with a large living area, large terrasse, dining table, desk, guest bathroom, nice bedroom and large bathroom. The property itself has several restaurants which are reviewed separately. The beach is HUGE, deep and long, and we really enjoyed long walks. Property is about a 50 AED taxi ride from the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and a bit less from the Corniche, so you are not missing out on "downtown" Abu Dhabi.

Now the not so good.
First, Saadiyat can be prone to fog in the winter. And when it is foggy, it is immensely foggy. Can't see anything out of your window foggy. Hotel can't do anything about it, but it's worth keeping in mind.

Then, there is construction on both sides of the St Regis complex. On the west side Construction of 2 complexes between the St Regis and the Park Hyatt is almost complete, but not particularily nice to look at. Construction of a "palace" with reclaimed land on the eastern side is much more problematic. It is very, very noisy. Spoil your fun at the beach and in your room noisy. It is not pleasant to look at, and it looks like it is going to continue for a while.

Another low light is breakfast. There is no exec lounge, so you are in for a breakfast experience with the broader crowd in the main buffet restaurant. While there is an adult only pool area (smallish and mostly in the shade unfortunately) and at the beach, there is no such thing at breakfast. If you cherish a mellow, relaxing breakfast, you will be disappointed, if not annoyed by your standard fare of raucous kids and careless parents. This is something actionable that the St Regis ought to do something about. There is already a huge kid's club, does everything have to be spoiled by kids ?

So kudos for several aspects, but room for improvement on a couple and a cautionary note for the coming year about nearby construction.

Unreservedly recommendable

Unreservedly recommendable

Clean rooms with many amenities, safe, air conditioning, ceiling fan, TV whose sound can be transmitted into the bathroom area (music while showering or messages while getting ready), bathtub so briefly equipped with tip top. The food of the best quality and always very tasty with a large selection. Sea and beach clean and well-kept like the whole complex. Deserved 5 stars!

This is an amazing hotel which deserves a 6 star rating! Honestly when I compare it to other 5 star hotels we've stayed in, the St Regis is in a league of it's own. We waited over an hour to check in as the hotel was fully booked but to make up for the inconvenience a most accomplished pianist played beautiful classical music throughout and we were treated to a free lunch at one of their excellent restaurants. The room was divine, large and comfortable wih excellent facilities like a massive round bath and we had the standard room, not a high end suite. The robes were comfortable enough that you wanted to wear them non stop, the towels were huge and soft, The beds beyond comfortable and the staff offered consistently top notch service. Our personal butker was just lovely. The beach park is well worth the rather long walk but it is through a gorgeously appointed tunnel cleverly lit to look as if it had windows. Pool bar, pool restauramt, kids facilities, myriad waiters on call and a pretty stretch of beach too. Something for everyone and in the morning the most incredible breakfast made it super difficult to stop oneself from stuffing one's face. Great variety of food even for vegetarians and vegans, I only wish hotels in the UAE would make better pancakes and waffles but maybe it's a good thing considering the high calorie count as it is. Overall I highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to treat themselves to a luxurious stay.

Overlooking a pristine beach, the cerulean Arabian Gulf and the celebrated Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, our destination resort presents a serene escape and captivating wildlife just minutes from downtown Abu Dhabi and the Saadiyat Cultural District. Boasting the island's preeminent address, we invite guests to rejuvenate at Iridium Spa, energize in our indoor lap pool or three outdoor pools, or bask on our private beach before dining seaside at one of six destination restaurants and bars. Mediterranean-inspired architecture unites with contemporary interiors and tactile natural materials in our refined guest rooms and suites, which each boast a private balcony and signature St. Regis Butler service-available any time, day or night..

We are currently at St Regis here. When we arrived we were told very unfriendly that at the main pool in the evening a private company party takes place and this may not be used including the area around it. Lying on the small pool, there was no more and on the beach not. And the bar was closed too. It felt like a hotel guest as a second class person and the prices. The next day we were able to use the pool again but since the beach restaurant is being rebuilt, we are now looking at a construction site, excavators and have significant construction noise, which also lasts over the lunch break. You do not even hear the music at the pool - holiday is not! The adjacent construction sites are very noisy and work through the night. We are extremely disappointed and therefore can not recommend it at these prices. Before that we spent two days in the Quars al Sarab which was great - so it is different!
