Its super beautiful here. It felt like I was on paradise. The only thing I disliked was the pool closed at 10:00pm which was a bummer, other than that it was a great experience and one I will never forget.

Good and not so good! Manager and assistant and check in great, except a handful of people walking in and out of lobby without masks. Code not enforced. Dining room gave lunch menus for dinner; seated us too close to loud unmasked group, wanted to charge me $4 for a roll (I wanted to feed ducks/fish), and no maid service with COVID. However, every request was received nicely. Lost all internet and TV/phone 1 morning. Expensive but great view and best option during this pandemic. Would like to see enforced rules at all entrances like they have at stores and restaurants to keep all people safe!

My family and I loved our stay at the Catamaran Beach Resort.
Check-in with Sarah was fast and easy. Lovely Coi fish pond and waterfall in lobby entrance, exotic parrots and ducks in the courtyard. Definitely gave me Hawaiian vibes.
The whole staff provided great service. They made sure to keep everything clean and sanitized. I thought it was excellent that they provided a care package with masks and hand sanitizer for our stay.
Our studio room with kitchenette had a nice partial ocean view. House keeping provided toiletries and silverware based on request. Dinner and Brunch at Oceana Restaurant was great.
The Resort is on the Bay with plenty of water activities and bike rentals for a charge. Nice pool and movie night on the lawn. Very family oriented.
We will definitely return next Summer. Hopefully the spa will be open by then.

We loved the ambiance of this hotel as well as the beautiful views of the bay and the ocean but as animal lovers we had some real issues with the level of unconsciousness shown in the menus, and also with the promotion of Sea World, one of the most heinous animal rights abuse companies still sadly in business! The menu (including the outside dock) has virtually NO plant based (vegan) options and was full of animal meat, fish, chickens, cheese and eggs. I wish this place would add these options to the menu and promote supporting an eco conscious planet considering it is right on the water and I assume wants to preserve the ocean, our planet and all the creatures inhabiting it.

Almost across the street are 2 amazing vegan places, one called Soulshine Vegan Cafe and another one which is a vegan sushi place called Now Sushi Bar which is a vegan cruelty free sushi place that is SO AMAZING you wouldn t believe you weren t eating actual fish rolls!

Anyways, the location is beautiful, but the hotel has a way to go before it offers conscious food and entertainment offerings.

Joanna the bartender at Morays makes the best cocktails by far! I love that I can sit down and enjoy a drink and even buy my dog Tank lunch! Thats right! They have Chicken & Rice or Beef & Rice on their menu. Dog friendly and a beautiful view of Mission Bay. Highly recommended!

LIKED IT A LOT BEAUTIFUL GROUNDS WITH DIFFERENCE KINDS OF BIRDS, DUCKS ,TURTLES AND COY FISH .THE POOL AND HOT TUB. THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT,ROOMS DON'T HAVE MICROWAVES JUST CALLED TH FRONT DESK IT WAS BROUGHT TO THE ROOM WITHIN 30MINS. I WOULD STAY HERE ANYTIME I'M IN SAN DIEGO.

Great resort right on the water. Went to Coastal Kitchen for sunday brunch. Lots of freshly prepared seafood and sushi unlike other brunches where they have huge piles of food that sits out all morning. They constantly are putting out fresh stuff. Brunch also comes with an entree you can take to go and just fill up on the buffet. It's like your fed for the whole day.

This is a nice place. I stayed for two nights pool is big jacuzzi is big I believe the website says that the rooms come with two robes they don't they are $45 for purchase. it's in a great location they have bars around you could walk to. They also have 7-Eleven Starbucks Ralphs walking distance. Belmont Park is about a 30-minute walk. The staff is very friendly and very nice. I stayed Monday Tuesday and left Wednesday they have a pool bar but I didn't see anybody there the whole time I stayed. Another thing I don't like is you're on vacation and the pool closes at 10pm

This place is awesome!!! Have been here a few times. I can remember one time when we were here many years ago, our room was to have a kitchen in the room. At first we didn't know where the kitchen was, we open up a closet, guess what we find? A kitchen.

This place is amazing. Haven't been in a tower room. A great place to stay. A tropical feel to this hotel. They serve an excellent Sunday brunch here that is incredible. When I was here last time, had a wonderful massage at the spa.

Cool tiki concept. Love the streams, parrots and ducks all over the grounds. Don t love the 27$ parking or the 30$/night resort fee. The rooms in the tower are a little tired but a great hotel otherwise. Can t beat the location on mission bay!

Tie up my sailboat at the Catamaran's Dock several days a week to have lunch and or drinks at on of this beautiful hotels fine restaurants. Beautiful rooms and event locations. Had my Senior Prom here nearly 45 years ago. FYI; Coconut Palms out front are from the original Spreckles Sugar magnates estate from the 1920s.

Yummy

Had a great stay here. The garden koi ponds are nice. The beach is clean with a great view. Restaurant was top notch. Small bar in lobby has local beer on tap. Rooms were large, and comfortable, but not very modern.

Quite a beautiful area. Hotel is very peaceful with a lovely Coy pond. The staff are super friendly and eager to help, the room is nice with a nice sitting area and a furnished balcony. The garden view room is very tranquil.
I would easily 5 star review however the prices for the spa are ridiculous. There are several other spas within walking distance that are less than half the price for a the same massage. I m sure it s good here and I wouldn t even mind paying a little bit more but just over double is just crazy.
The restaurant is amazing and the food and service are superb but again the prices are very steep so maybe just 1 meal, there are so many other resteraunts nearby for a lot less! I recommend the World Famous!
I don t understand why hotels/resorts charge so much. You d think they would be within reason of other comparable amenities nearby and I m sure more people would just spend their hard earned money here at the resort rather than elsewhere if it was.
despite this we would certainly stay here again and recommend others do as well as it is a very beautiful place and at Christmas it s warm enough to still sit around the beach in your swim suit and at night go for evening strolls in shorts and a light sweater.

The hotel was relatively average from the perspective of the rooms. There are some interesting amenities including several parrots, and "creeks". The goal of the hotel send to be a to recreate a tropical getaway including a potentially unpleasant scent in the lobby.

Be a tourist in your own town! Friday night Luau that you can pay for or just watch part of the show from the outside. Great outdoor bar/restaurant area. Great food. Enjoy the Mai Tai(s)!

Fantastic food, amazing staff and a spectacular water view. We love this place even though we've only visited once, it really had an impact on us. Can't wait til our next SD trip so we can go back.

The Catamaran is a wonderful hotel, even if a but past it's prime. The rooms are comfortable and big and the view from ours was fantastic. The hotel staff are all very professional. The bayside beach is wonderfully relaxing, and the two restaurants are all great. And even better than all that is the spa. Overall, its great. It just needs a new coat of paint.

An Historic resort...the ghosts of ambience past almost come through the walls. Multiple restaurants, shops and unique amenities like a seasonal skating rink draw guests into making their own memories. Surrounded by multi-million dollar properties and yachts, everything is first class so pack a suitcase full of your favorite currency. Reserve some to ransom the Bugatti from the parking fees.. The service there is always great...they were dirty and stained as if it wasn't changed. I travel with my own sheets for this exact reason. Didn't think the del wouldn't meet standards

This hotel is like tropical lagoon on the outside with old world Spanish charm on the inside . The location is a short walk to the beach. The staff is extremely friendly , always ready to answer a question or solve a problem. The gardens smell wonderful at night and it is great for a short romantic stroll. This is a family friendly resort with romantic ambience. My husband and I had great time.

Tropical hideaway across from Mission Beach. Although there are parts to this resort that feel a little dated it adds to the rich character and charm. It was very clean and well maintained. Love all the tropical trees plants birds and other animals. Stayed in a smaller building that had a view of the bay and beach. Nice and quiet even though you are right on a beach ! If you want the commercial beach experience with restaurants and more action just go across the street to Mission and Pacific beaches. Miles and miles of paths to bike ride walk or take a scooter exploring. Traffic flow was actually pretty good and it generally took us about 15 to 20 minutes to get downtown.

Great Beach Location - Private yet Accessible

Great Beach Location - Private yet Accessible
We had a fabulous stay ate the Catamaran Resort. It has its own private beach on the bay side and cross the street and walk 1 block and you are at Mission Beach on the Ocean. Great Sunsets - Really like El Prez`s rooftop restaurant where we ate watching the sunset over the Pacific. Fairly easy access to highways for attractions travel. Spent lots of time at the ocean and walking along the boardwalk. Lots of close shops for buying food (Ralph`s & CVS) with the full kitchen came in handy. The exotic talking bird display was also a nice touch.

I did think parking was excessive at $25 a night - thought it should have been included in the price. Gym was small but has great bay views.

Would recommend to everyone - leave the rental car out though...

Nice room and views. The pool has a relaxed drink bar and arcade. You can also swim in the bay if you prefer that. My favorite part of this hotel is the birds! They have a little exotic bird section with a cockatiel, macaw, and a few other birds that are pretty to look at. They also have duck and koi ponds as well as pretty flowers planted along the courtyard.
