Solid choice for southern style dining. They did a decent job for a large group and provided a private room. Not imaginative. A little heavy on the calories.

Food was fantastic, service was good. Went for weekend brunch. Oysters on the half shell, mimosas all around (there was a group of us). We got there early, and were able to get seated 15min before our reservation. Bar service was a little slow, but not a big deal. Prices were fair. I ordered shrimp and grits. It was a bigger portion and better tasting (and more shrimp) than the restaurant group's other venture, Fin and Pearl. Overall, service could have been a smidge better, but this place definitely lives up to the hype.
A must eat! You really can't go wrong with anything here.
This is a must experience establishment! Great food, service, and atmosphere.
Great atmosphere, great food, and good variety of beer.
One of my favorite places to eat and drink in Nashville. The martinis are on point and the oysters are surprisingly really fresh. The cheese grits are a must get !
Great dining choice! Beer selection is great! Food was amazing as well. Take home so Texas ketchup! Amazing on anything! Can't wait to go back!
Atmosphere is great, food was really amazing. Had the blue cheese biscuits, gumbo was awesome, brisket and pulled pork soup was really awesome. Puked pork and grits was good too.
Fun local spot. Live music. Server on top of it even though it was quite busy. Food was very good. Chicken and waffles? Sounds odd, but was fantastic!
The Nuddie steaks are amazing!! THE Best in Nashville
Best steak I've had in years and the best gumbo I've had outside of New Orleans
At there for Brunch and had a really great overall experience. Our server was fantastic. The food was very good and the vibe was very upbeat. Definitely wanted to have dinner there but had a great brunch experience.
Our waiter suggested the meatloaf....I'm game to try anything at this spot. A few years ago we indulged in a couple dozen oysters with bar mates (raw oyster newbies) and shared a bottle of wine to compliment it. The meatloaf melt in my mouth. I've always asked for suggestions and this meatloaf hit all the high notes. There's somethings we normally don't eat at restaurant
meatloaf Is one of them. A wonderful surprise.
I was there at lunch on a Friday. Looked like mostly people who work in the area. It was busy but the staff handled it well; no waiting or hiccups in service.
I've been eating here for lunch for several years and it has always been wonderful. I'm very fond of the Meat and Three at lunch, and the Southern Burger is probably my favorite burger in town. It's a little pricey, but it's worth it. Try the deviled eggs and the Peace and Plenty hot sauce.
I'm from Texas and I know a little thing about some chicken fried steak but there's has got to be the best I've ever tasted.
Great staff. Friendly and helpful. Great southern food. Ribs were awesome!
The Southern is one of the best restaurants in town! Their oysters are great, food fresh and drinks strong. Quality dining in a cozy, Southern atmosphere. I highly recommend the Southern Burger.
I always take my out of town guests here. Great food, atmosphere, and drinks. Never know who you might run into the Saturday before a football game...
Good meal, not mind blowing drip everything your doing and check this place out, but an above average meal none the less. We were amazed on how fast they were. We set down at 7:45 on a Sunday and we're walking out 50 min later. And that is with a few drinks, an appetizer and two entree's. We didn't feel rushed by any means but there was definitely no down time.
Did a social media poll and most said try the Southern it did not disappoint. Service was fabulous and attentive. Ashley took great care of us. Very accommodating to substitute exactly what I wanted. I had the nudie steak which was a ribeye pick the weight of meat you want. Cooked to perfection well seasoned but not over seasoned. Started with the crab cakes which were a little small but incredible prepared great flavor. Ordered a side salad with lemon vinaigrette and a side of butternut squash fab. Oh and highly recommend the Texas Gold ketchup/steak sauce nice little bite added great flavor and actually purchased a bottle to go. Bravo
As creative, eclectic, and quality-driven as any of Tom's restaurants past/present. Staff is often a bit too self-satisfied and lacking customer service.
Weeks in advance l made a reservation. The day of our visit we were seated at a tiny table in the corner, which makes you feel like you're in a closet. The waiter was very nice and helpful. It was pricy, but l expected that. The menu was only some of what we saw online. We ordered a dozen chargrilled oysters as an appetizer, which l've had in NOLA several times. These were awful. I can suffer through lot, but my wife and l could only force down two each. A waitress explained that they're "lightly grilled." The looked steamed and not grilled. The manager was very nice about it and removed it from our bill. My wife got the banh mi tacos. She didn't care for them, but if you like asian style food you may like them. I had the burger with everything including pimento cheese and sweet potato fries. The burger was fantastic. The home made ketchup was ok and different. Local draft beers were good as well as a margarita. Overall we were disappointed with the visit.
I probably ordered the wrong thing, but my catch of the day was bland and dry. The service was very good though!
First time there. Went to celebrate our anniversary.. Although the kitchen staff kept messing up on my boyfriend order. I was satisfied with mine. Our server was and manager was awesome.
Excellent service an food oysters are fresh an filet is great
It was a pretty busy night but we were able to be seated right away. The server was very nice and attentive. Other people came by to help with refills and see if we needed anything so that was nice. The food was delicious! My only regret was that I didn't get the steak like my boyfriend did, but I will next time!
Reservation required. You can make a reservation at the hotel reception. If the waiting time is long, you can spend time drinking beer at a restaurant bar, so you can go without a reservation. The steak was good but the raw oysters aren't cool. She was thin and looked like a rag.
Tip is at least 20%. Because it is included in the receipt, you have to pay. If you enter the township, you will follow the township, but you don't know what service costs 20%. It looks like I'm doing a minimal job as a restaurant staff. . . Tip is a psychic theory for rationally clearing anything. However, 20% is obligatory. The next day, I ate a cup ramen that I brought from my house. This was more delicious. In hotels and convenience stores, beer is not sold at all. Probably to get tourists to the bar. It's irresistible for those who like country music, but it's just noisy for those who don't. Next time, take a cup of ramen and coffee with cup ramen. If you can abandon the obsession that I've traveled abroad, I have to go sightseeing, cup ramen is enough.
The venue is quite beautiful, it has a great atmosphere and nice music.
I had the Steak & Biscuit Benedict for Brunch which was pretty tasty. However, the portion was slightly on the small side for brunch.
Sunday Funday! One of my favorite spots in Nashville for Sunday Brunch. Chicken and Waffles with mimosa's for me and oysters for him. They are both great. Fun busy atmosphere, great food and great service.
The appetizer was rubbery but had good flavor. Our seats were so near the expo kitchen I could feel the heat. The entree, scallops, was excellent, as was desert. Service was excellent given the traffic. There is a new parking garage across the street that's $12 after 5 if you want to park, slightly off the beaten path, and walk a bit around town after the meal.
It was good but i had better, even for the price...i was gonna gve it 3 stars because the portions it was small but my husband liked his... He ordered the brisket and i the gumbo and we ordered the steak biscuits for appetizer which was very good
Food was tasty. Portions ok. Price competitive. Good service for lare lunch. Only had 2 different salads though. Probably should have tried the oysters
First, you enjoy the cheese biscuits. Then you order some gumbo. Top it off with some ribs, brisket and the like. So friggin good. Get your southern food fix here.
Good place for groups, very reasonably priced lunch.
Great place with great music, a great atmosphere and great service. I had shrimp and grits with extra shrimp and it was AMAZING!!!!
Maybe a tad overrated, but undisappointing.
Our server was solid and entertaining.
Great food and unique beers. Banana Fosters bread pudding was superb.
Ordered oyester sand drinks clearly looking at the happy hour and talking about how oyesters are $2 until 6, and then asked my server which ones were small oysters he pointed some out and we ordered some and I pointed at the roses on the happy hour. Well nothing we ordered was on happy hour and it was a rude surprise I expressed this to the server and he could care less he knew he never mentioned I was ordering off of happy hour despite me looking at it and talking about it. I will honestly never return and I would recommend going there due to service, there are a ton of good restaurants in Nashville no need to go somewhere with poor service. The server was like no only select oysters are happy hour, I ll be back and left the check there and walked away. No apology or empathy, I can t believe it. It left such a bad taste in my mouth and it was just plain inconsiderate. What a bummer.
The oysters were extraordinary and not fresh, but the steaks were delicious, especially T-born steaks.
I would like to have good food at an expensive price.
The food was great! The waitress was horrible and very nonchalant we had over cooked food. She was not very interested. She was almost borderline rude!
Didn't live up to the hype, over priced, ok service. It was also really dirty behind the bar. I saw the guy who was shucking raw oysters wipe his oyster knife on his filthy jeans...
I have been here a handful of times, and every time it has been wonderful. I love going when my family is in town.
I ate here about a month ago. Parts of my meal were done well, however the steak I ordered medium rare was cooked so little that it was cold in the middle and basically raw. For a restaurant that supposedly specializes in steak that isn't even close to acceptable.
Great variety, great service, great food and cocktails
Great brunch, Hollandaise perfect, steak cooked just right, delicious drinks. Excellent service. Will definitely go again.
The Southern would be a great place if they could get the service side of things corrected. The service there is hit or miss and more miss than hit. They "NEVER" answer the phone when you are trying to call ahead or place a to go order... It could be an awesome place because the food is pretty good.
We have been here many times and the service and food quality have been a challenge, however this visit has been far and away the best. Jerry at the bar and the whole staff have been amazing. Very personable over the top service an excellent food during this visit. A huge improvement......keep up the good work we will be back!
If you come to Nashville and want a taste of the new redneck fare then this is your spot. Hands down the best cheeseburger on the planet. The homemade pimento cheese is just some of the best stuff ever. Their fried green tomatoes actually made me fall in love with fried green tomatoes. One of my favorite spots to go in town hands down.
If you have a baby, this is not the place for you. THEY DONT HAVE A DIAPER CHANGING TABLE! Also, I asked for help to find a menu item that was allergen friendly and our server was rude and offered no assistance. I was not able to eat anything while the rest of my friends dined.
This place was wonderful. We got there right about 10am on a rainy Sunday morning. Brunch was everything, we had the crab cake hash and cuban. The food was delish and came out in about 5 mins. Our waiter was so knowledgeable, he gave us suggestioins for a rainy great NashvillerainySu.day. This place is peedect,
Not the atmosphere I expected, more of a bar feel. Food was good but imo not worth the price
I'm baffled as to why this place gets good reviews. I received rice and beans from a Goya can. Mac n cheese that was penne in alfredo sauce. Fish tacos were luke warm. Brisket was bland. And it was expensive!
Our dinner was so delicious! We sat at the bar & Andy waited on us. He made outstanding suggestions from our drinks, oysters, dinner & deserts. We wasn't disappointed with any of his suggestions. Thank you Andy!
Great food and service. Decor gives a feeling of a renovated original architectural space, very lovely. Went on a business luncheon, and tried a variety of things on the menu. Reccomend Hot Chicken Salad, crabcakes, steak buscuits, Devil of an Egg. Seemed like there are several peivate dining rooms/boardrooms that can be rented for meetings and events in the back. Not 5 stars for a couple of design/layout things: the restrooms are down a very long hallway, and the designers attempted an ultramodern sink concept in which water simply flows onto the counter, which is slightly slanted to the back toward a hidden drain. Disconcerting. Also the expedite counter from the kitchen is open to the entrance of the long dark hallway to the bathrooms. Lots of people walking by on their way to and from.
We came here because we had a gift certificate we wanted to used. Made sure to make a reservation to get in timely. The service was good and the deviled eggs were amazing. Food was okay. The hot chicken salad was wicked spicy and unbearable. The steak was alright. Def a place to go if your downtown looking for something more up scale.
Food is amazing try the gumbo! Good selection of drinks and lighter options too. Convenient short walk from music city centre and broadway
Very good food. The egg sandwich with fries was awesome and the burger with an egg was passable. Hot chicken salad was different but very tasty. My wife likes the crab cake hash while, I didn't care for them. I had lipstick on my water glass, luckily I noticed before taking a drink . The waiter was very apologetic and quickly replaced it with a fresh glass. The Bloody Mary Shooter was unique and great. Good Bloody Marys too.
Service was friendly during our busy lunch visit. Free valet & reservations available. Full bar and tons of seating options. The grouper sandwich was tasty but served with semi warm sweet potatoe fries. The greens, butternut squash & black eye peas were luke warm as well.
Awesome food. The shrimp and grits and the crab cakes...can't go wrong. Love the briney pacific oysters. Recommend!
Went for a work function. I have some dietary restrictions and they were very knowledgable and accommodating. The filet was outstanding! Cant wait to go back!
We waited a really long time for our table, but we were a party of 9. Our waiter was great, and the food was awesome. Bread pudding was a huge hit!
Outstanding food. One of the best in Nashville at reasonable prices.
Impressive breakfast. Great service from Austin, food was timely, tasty. Had the hillbilly wrap, pork omlett, veggie omlett, all were very good. Looks like solid wine cellar collection , and large full bar.
Tremendous double cut pork chop! I really fell for their pimento cheese and baby biscuits. Good pours in the drinks.
Always fantastic. First time doing a business lunch there, but it worked out well. Sometimes I felt a little rushed by the server, but he was nice and the house bbq sauce was awesome.
Great food and service. Paige was a super helpful waitress with great recommendations. Visiting from out of town and don t think we could ve picked a better spot
