Have wanted to dine here for years. For starters, I had their thick and creamy Boston Chowder (clams, crabmeat); it's a KEEPER!! My entree; Seafood Pot (Sea Scallops, Red Snapper, Shrimp) over Linguini with a red Roasted Pepper Scampi sauce...DEELISH!!For dessert, Creme Brulee...YUMMY!!

Service was outstanding
Food was great, I have not been there in a long time. After dinner tonight I won't make that mistake again.
If you haven't been there go and if you have been there but not in a while visit an old friend

My sister and I went for Restaurant week. We made reservations and was seated in 5 minutes. The food was DELICIOUS! Cat was our server and she was amazing. Caty was Very attentive and knowledgeable. Cat made our experience a great one! The sirloin tips, prime rib and shrimp scampi was melt in your mouth delicious! To top it off the pineapple upside down cake was moist and not too sweet. We will be back!

I was recently here for Sunday brunch and had less than a subpar experience. While the food was good, the service was incredibly poor. Our one waiter had made a rude comment to me stating I basically was diseased as I was walking back up to get food with a dirty plate. He could have nicely said you need a new fresh plate instead of being insulting and he proceeded to do it to another one of the members of my party. We were a party of 11 and half of the party did not drink and had left and paid earlier than the other half. Our waiter came back and said something was going to have to be done because he wasn t tipped enough and then proceeded to ignore the table for the remainder of the time we were there. I am absolutely applauded by this servers behavior considering that is extremely unprofessional and rude. He is a server and cannot demand more money when his job is to serve us and not insult us. I do not recommend this place at all until they get professional and nice servers.

Went to a beautiful wedding here and it was very nice. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The buildings and grounds were very very clean and well maintained. The wedding was run very efficiently and I don;t know of any complaints the entire day.

This is an old landmark restaurant. It has views of the connetquot River. It is an excellent restaurant with beautiful decor reflecting the fishing history and boating sportsmanship of Long island make me feel alone. The food is wonderful and make sure you wish to stay there even longer than the view.

Brunch at The Snapper Inn is not for anyone with discriminating taste. The preparation and quality of most items is awful. The hard boiled eggs benedict are hockey puck substitutes, the chicken is overcooked and dry, the meat tough and tasteless, and the pasta could have come from a can. The food trays weren't even hot. We did not finish anything on our plates and walked out before trying a sample from the dessert table. I don't think we missed anything. If the business plan is to attract customers that just want an all-you-can-eat stuff it down your throat selection, then management has achieved their goal. This is definitely not worth the $40+ per person charge, which includes an obligatory 18% tip. I do not begrudge the staff their tip. I think most customers would leave a lot less because of the poor quality of the meal. I did speak to the young man at the front podium and politely mentioned my disappointment. He appeared to take it in stride.

The ferry passes by as you look out on the bay while dining. This is a place my parents took me when I was a teenager in the 70's and when I graduated high school I took my girlfriend here in my tuxedo and she in her ballgown. We felt like royalty.
The whole lobster is still one of my Snapper Inn favorites. To this day it is a fine place and perennial favorite for special occasions and making memories with my Honey. Here is the place where I began to hone my particular culinary tastes. Good memories well worth contemplating and still more memories are to be made here. This is my "home", a landmark, and comforting gastronomic port after traveling and living in various places around the world. Places like this make it special to live once again on Long Island.

I was there to sail on the 130 year old oyster sloop Persilla. We had a great sail, learn about the oyster industry, sailing and navigation. The passengers were able to help sail and ever steer the ship. A good time was had by all.

After the sail we had an enjoyable meal at the Snapper In.
