Overpriced seafood that tastes below average.Tried this place after a couple of years but nothing has improved. We came by car and could not believe they charge$75 to dock a boat.My friend and I wanted to bring his boat but we were not willing to pay that rediculous fee. Will be dining at the View next time.

Fantastic location right on the water if the Great South Bay. The views are stunning and so are the food and service. The Snapper Inn is ideal for weddings, parties and corporate functionsm

Average at best. Staff is very nice. Outside patio was great. Music live. But food was disappointing. We were a very large crowd but apps had no flavor. Pizza , baked clams , calamari all were tasteless to me. Main dishes my wife had fish in a pineapple sauce she was not a fan . Most of the men had prime rib they were all orded medium rare but all but one was medium the rest were well done. I had the seafood frideovlo that was good and I asked for it spicy and was not disappointed in that dish. Desserts were good and there expresso was very good.

I had a wonderful New Years Eve celebration with my family . The food and service was excellent with top shelf open bar.. There was a D.J. and the music was great. The price was very reasonable. I would definitely do it again!

Just went to a very nice bridal shower at the Snapper Inn! The food was delicious and the place is beautiful. My only complaint is that the venue was triple booked with events: a wedding and a baby shower during the bridal shower. The wedding was extremely loud right next door to our room and they didn't turn the music down much when asked. It might have been nicer if there were only two events on opposite sides of the place. I understand wanting to make as much money as possible but I feel bad if anyone felt like their afternoon was ruined. Other than that it's really a very nice venue!

we just had my Mom's 90th birthday party / family reunion here on Saturday. It was amazing. Food and service were top notch. Everything was delicious. They also can do large special occasions such as weddings. Will definately go again.

Horrible!! Owner Kathy was just so OBNOXIOUS! The way she handled this was appalling.
I had my sons baptism party scheduled for yesterday at 4Pm. I had confirmed and reconfirmed several times about tables that were going to be set under the tent. I even confirmed the night before, needless to say I got to the party and they had the patio furniture out, not the dinner tables they had promised. I complained immediately to manager Josh and I got no real answer as to why. At that point my guests where already there and they couldnt change ten tables! I was very upset.
The dessert table was not set as promised.. cookies and cupcake stand was not even put together. I had one on my friends rush to put it together and put cupcakes on and set it. Again,Upsetting!
Appetizers were supposed to come out. They were samples, not appetizers. Barely existant. UPSETTING!!
The bar was supposed to be just for my party. Thats what they had said when i booked. well, there were at least 40-50 people around the bar at the entire time of our party. Gawking, ordering drinks probably on our dime, and even coming into out party taking cupcakes and dancing on our floor!! needless to say IRRITATING!
The table numbers were set wrong. People where confused!!
And the kicker : at the end of the party, we were given a $2400 bar bill. I didnt know weather to scream or laugh.. 51 adults of which 5 dont drink alcohol the two managers made an attempt to help figure out what was going on, as it was an inaccurate, overinflated, PADDED bill. Between them telling me that we drank all that (which we DID NOT) they offered to take 500 dollars off the already padded bill as if that should be enough. I was so tired, irritated and upset at that point that I asked for them to have the owner call me and left. This morning, after I texted the manager that it was extremely dissapointing, I got a HOSTILE call from the owner Kathy Remo.
Her first sentence was "Hi this is Kathy Remo, owner at Snapper Inn and Im insulted that you didnt tip my managers".
This woman, who called herself the owner, proceeded to yell and talk over me, berate me and question me. I explained entire night and she didnt want to hear anything. She only wanted to hear herself yell. I asked her why the tables where not the right ones, why there were no appetizers? why would I tip the managers who were trying to rip us off? and why the bar bill was padded?? she said that the bar staff where her niece and nephew and that the managers did their best. I told her that the food was good and so was the location and so were the waiters, she on the other hand was very unprofessional, unapologetic and unreasonable in handling this. I told her I would post a review and warn people and she said she didnt care, that the customers would still come.
I asked her several times how she would feel if she walked into her party and had all this hapen to her... she offered no answer of course, she kept twisting and deflecting.
I told her that they ripped us off at the bar, and asked her why there were 40 strangers/other people at the same bar as our party and how could her niece and nephew know who to charge and who was with my party and who was not!.. Her answer was that "they knew'..
Sadly didnt offer a solution and was rude entire conversation. I informed her that I would contact the Better Business Bureau. She then screamed and yelled and hung up on me.
Thank God it was a small party of intimate family members and we could have a nice time in a walk-in closet. I would never go there again!
PLEASE BEWARE of the lies and promises! Watch your bar tab!!!

Upscale dining on the Sayville/Oakdale inlet of the south shore..watched an outdoor wedding during sunset while dining in the main seating area, has special rooms for private parties and a dock for boats, very good service, wonderful menu. Was my 1st time there but won't be my last.

Nice view, decor and ambiance. Very loud music from the adjasent room - at least two different parties - Saturday lunch. Slow servise, menues given right away but server came in 10 minutes to take drinks order, and another 10 for the main order. Seafood chowder was overcooked and not buttery enough, chowder was ok. We ordered scampied mahi mahi as one of the fish of the day, ot was fresh, but lacked a garlic, and veggies were diner quality, same for the pilaf. Cheescake had a mushy crust, not crunchy one. I would probably do not care if I will be a guest enjoying a party, but I was there for food, and it was three stars. Im glad I did not bring my friends with me.

Snapper Inn has been around longer than I can remember, but until last night, I never the opportunity to try it.
We needed a table for four on a holiday weekend and we're lucky enough to get one on the outside patio area
Upon passing through the cocktail lounge and main dining area I was. Thinking the decor of dark woods and old photos that lined the walls were reminiscent of so many Long Island seafood restaurants I've visited before.
The outdoor deck and bar, however are set on a modern, beautifully landscaped property that could easily have been the private residence in the Hamptons.
All of the items on the menu looked delicious, so the only logical choice for me was the Classic Seafood Combination featuring flounder, sea scallops and shrimp, served with a side of greens and mashed potatoes. I chose the broiled over the blackened or fried options, and it did not disappoint
The fish was and shrimp were broiled to perfection and the scallops were nothing short of amazing.
This is one restaurant that will stay my list of places to return to.

First, we will not be returning here during restaurant week again. My daughter and I both returned the Asian filet mignonette tips, an appetizer. Chewy, grisly, piece of bone. The server replaced it with seafood bisque...lukewarm, bland. We will end it there. Of note, the mixed drinks were top shelf.

We stopped at the Snapper after a last minute change of plans. Guinness on tap, along with a few other "Irish delicacies", they had Corned Beef and Cabbage or Shepards Pie. We went with the Shepards Pie, it was delicious. My husband and I lived in England for 4 years and this was hands down the best we ever had. Also, as an added bonus they had home made Irish soda bread. We had a,basket with dinner and a second basket for desser,. The Snapper Inn is a favorite of ours and we can't wait for the summer to sit outside by the water.

mussels the size of peas, had to order 2 to have a chance of satisfaction, server said they ran out of pelligrino water the night before, also ran out of vanilla ice cream for the desserts. Are you kidding me! Mens room the size of a closet. Nice grounds and setting but let down for $110 a couple, and we don't drink.
