A lot of interestings paintings and great view to Los Angeles and ocean. I love to go there.

I love the getty. Its a gorgeous museum. Even if you don't like museums you have to go for the stunning view of los angeles and the garden. Which is a nice place to just relax on a summer day and bring a bottle of wine.
This place is beautiful and so unique.
Free admission! Why wouldn't you go?! $10 parking after 3pm, $15 parking before 3pm. You can use the same parking pass for Getty Villa and Getty Center.
Remarkable art collection in and on a spectacular architectural gem. Don't miss it if you're in downtown LA.
Awesome...buildings are gorgeous, the exhibits and gardens are beautiful, the staff are friendly and helpful...and except for a $15 parking fee, it's free!
What can I say that hasn't already been said. Absolutely stunning views, incredible art and beautiful grounds. An absolute must see if you go to LA. Also a great place to bring your lunch and have a picnic on the grounds.
Amazing architecture and site design. Better than the actual collections.
U should also check out the Betty villa too it's so nice!!^^
Really cool place to visit, especially for tourist. Nice paintings, cool statues, and a balcony with a beautiful view of Los Angeles. They even give you the iPods which have cool tutorials to listen to.
If you re been to art museums such as The Met, MOMA in NY, or The Barnes in Philly, or National in DC - The Getty seems a like collection of paintings that were left after they got the best. I like Impressionist and Post Impressionist Art and The Getty as very little. I was also disappointed that they don t exhibit much photography since they own so much. The place itself is impressive - the architecture and views are very cool. If I could only go to one museum in LA, it would be the Norton-Simon.
Hard to access but worth it for the views and architecture. The museum itself wouldn t have something you d call a vast variety of exhibits, however the ones it is home to are presented marvelously (just picture those Greek statues of old against the backdrop of LA from such a high viewpoint... 10/10).
Egypt exhibit was outstanding.
The museum also has reasonably okay food options. In the canteen-style cafe that is. Restaraunt is unfortunately beyond my budget - however according to several Russians I hear it s pretty good.
Wonderful. The tram up to the museum. The architect. The garden. The views for miles. And the exceptional art collection and archive. Absolutely wonderful. Plan a whole day and wear comfortable shoes.
J P left us something to remember him for that is awesome. It's not only free but the collections are very good. The view of L A is just plain cool.
Interesting Museum . Well organized . Amazing that ist all free
Definitely recommend getting there early. We got there just after noon and after about 30 minutes the place was infested with people. It was an enjoyable and education way to spend a few hours, and made for a great date also.
Best $20 ever spent on a Saturday, entry is free, parking is $20 amazing trip well worth it
Manet exhibit is extraordinary. A beautiful space inside & out.
Beautiful place honestly I would try to visit as much as I can.
I went here on a weekend afternoon with my husband. Design of the museum is very unique and there s a ton of outdoor space to hang out. I d recommend bringing food and a blanket and turning the visit into a picnic day!
Beautiful collection, tram ride up is breathtaking and it s free!
Even if you aren't an art lover this is a one in a million view. Wonderful gardens, view of the ocean and downtown along with Mid-Wilshire and the kids can even run a little wild outside highly recommend for everyone regardless of age.
Gorgeous views. Tremendous history. Hope it opens again soon.
Superb. Couldn't see the entire place in one day. Plan a couple days. Masterful pieces.
Absolutely stunning collective, architecture and grounds.
Starting from getting on tram to architecture and exhibition tours, I have a wonderful experience in Getty Museum. The food in cafeteria is good and reasonable price. The landscape is beautiful. You can enjoy the view of L.A. from the museum. It's definitely worthy to pay a visit there!
The tour started with a wonderful tram ride, with surreal views on both sides. The place has a real good collection of art and architecture if that is something that interests you. You will get guided tours, do take the map to cover the place in an organized way. There is a lecture hall too, the day I went, professor talked about Balthazar. There are various stores too inside.
Great place to spend the day. No admission fee but parking is $15 a day. Get there early as parking can be a challenge in the afternoon. So much to see. Food is pricey. Cheapest is @ the kiosk. The cafe is ok with lots of options.
The place is STUNNING. The Villa is a beautiful place to take a stroll and pose for photos but most of the actual exhibits are pay to get in. The parking is also a hefty $20, which you are forced to pay since you have to take the tram up. Not much to do if you aren't walking the actual exhibits.
A visit to The Getty is like being transported to a different locale. Beautifully designed site, rotating art exhibits, live performances, sweeping views of the metropolitan and Pacific coastline -- a true oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the city!
So much to see and the staff is very friendly yet professional. Definitely recommend. You can't beat the price. Be prepared to pay $15 for parking though. Restaurant food is a bit pricey. So if you're on a budget you will want to eat before you go. Great museum!
You can easily turn visiting this Museum into a two-day trip there is so much to see both inside the buildings and out on the grounds
The architect did a fantastic job. The displays were very good. I suggest that people sit in the plazas and enjoy the experience of the architectural environment as much as I would suggest the art.
Lots of walking, clean, organized, education everywhere.
So beautiful architecture , landscape and free admition. I really appreciate to Paul Getty.
Absolutely essential place to visit. Breathtaking setting, beautiful architecture, expansive collections. You really should go.
Walking back into time, was a wonderful experience staff friendly and knowledgeable.
Could have gotten lost here for hours! So much to see inside but even just looking over the balconies is beautiful! Lovely building, scenery, and art!
Great views and great art. It was surprising that admission was free to a huge museum like that!
Truly a wonderful staple of the area. Even if you don't think of yourself as an art person, you definitely need to check this place out. They have rotating exhibits, so you can research to find what will be showing when you visit, or coordinate your visit to be there when something you are interested in is being displayed.
Hard to believe this place is free (aside from parking)! So much beauty- the artwork, the gardens, the buildings, the views... Love it!
The museum was beautiful and I enjoy myself. I was very interested in JP Getty and his history. I truly believe they left out a lot of information about Mr. Getty. It never mentioned anything about Oklahoma and the money he made there. Curious what else wasn t mentioned?
The best place in LA to experience the sun setting in the west..
Nice art museum with cool modern architecture. Parking is free of you also visit and park at the Getty Villa on the same day.
Amazing view, exhibition and great garden landscaping, a must in LA
Really beautiful gardens and buildings, the art collection is excellent and diverse. There was a large queue for the tram so we walked up, which was a fairly easy-going walk and didn't take too long. The courtyard is very bright so sunglasses were needed!
I was slightly underwhelmed with this place. I m not a huge art fan, but I still expect to be a bit more impressed. The centre however is very well designed. Plus it s free. You have a high car park charge, but this is very fair when you don t charge admission
This place is definitely worth a visit! Stunning architecture on a beautiful location. And that's only the outside. Inside is an amazing collection of art well worth the hours. The inner court and the gardens are great for a little break in between the different rooms and collections.
So much to see, that a single visit can not do it justice. Amazing Art. Amazing building. Amazing location.
I absolutely love The Getty Center! Admission is free, but your parking is not. However it is minimal for Los Angeles and if you are visiting The Getty Villa the same day you only pay once for both. The tours, even the self guided audio, are also free. I find this refreshing because although the Getty family has more money that god, anyone from any social economic background can come and enjoyed these rare and beautiful works of art, or stroll through the gardens. The view here, is in my humble opinion, the best in LA! Come and enjoy your favorite beverage (they serve beer and wine from coffee carts, as well as soft drinks, tea, and coffee), enjoy the nice breeze, and watch the sun set or people watch. On clear days the view of the ocean is spectacular. The courtyard is a work of art and very relaxing to just sit in and rest the mind and body. If you have never been here, I strongly recommend you visit.
could spend time everyday there, well designs and wonderful environment. bonus with free entry and free ride
Splendid setting, magnificent architecture, big impressive collection
The grounds are exquisite! So if you come to see an exhibit be sure to leave plenty of time for exploring the gardens and all of the stairwells and pathways! we were fortunate to catch the Renaissance nudes exhibit and a photography exhibit. The walk up the hill is not too difficult and worth the views as you climb if you choose it as an alternative to the tram.
One of the world's great museums - and it's free as well. Excellent gardens and architecture too.
I loved the way it has a trolley that takes you all the way to the entrance to the museum.
Want to spend a day between art and panoramas? The Getty is the way! And it's free!
Beautiful architecture and and beautiful art. Calm pace, good for a date or just to go by yourself
Great meuseum lots to see such as the great veiw from the top and art you cant see anywere else
Another Must See of California. Free admittance (pay for parking). Need to go more then one day to see all art and paint.
Beautiful location, breathtaking art. Dress appropriate for the weather as you will want to explore the outdoor areas as well. Helpful and friendly staff, a more detailed map to carry would be helpful
Nice place. Lots to see. Food and beverages are pricey but you only pay for parking to get in.
It's not just a great museum, it's a great pubic space with plazas and amazing panorama view of the city. Parking fee is $15. Free tram to the summit. Free entrance
It's fantastic, i take my family to here every year.
Amazing place! Beautiful art and gardens. Building is awesome. Great views on LA. No entrance fee, only 15 dollar for parking. Well organized, friendly staff and volunteers. Absolutely recommended!
Best place in LA for the view, the art, the atmosphere, the garden, the architecture, etc.... Fantastic tour by the curator of the Bauhaus exhibition.
Love this place. Aside from the art, thr architecture andcthe view across LA make it a great place to visit.
Wow! its free. There is no charge except parking. Food are expensive inside which normally is the case any place you go. Amazing place, beautiful architecture. Took the Beyond the Nile Egypt.. tour she was great pointing out all the detail that we would have missed. The garden tour was more about architecture of garden then the plants which i was not expecting
beautiful grounds and fantastic exhibits! no trip to southern California is complete unless you visit this incredible museum
Excellent exhibits enhanced by professional tours, including architectural one.
The coolest museum I have ever been too, not just for the art but for the location and the amazing views of LA. Plus it's free and only costs $15 to park.
I had a good time, I look forward to my next visit.
The Getty centre is a nice place to have a picnic after work. There is a train that runs every ten minutes from the bottom of the hill to the top. The hill is also walkable. Once you get up the hill, there are many buildings including a research building that make up the Getty centre. Tours are running about every half an hour. They inclue the highlights tour, the architecture tour, and tours of temporary exhibits. Tours are free and range from 45 minutes to an hour. The highlights tour is recommended, and the guide takes you through several art pieces that they select. You then spend about 10-15 minutes discussing each piece. The Getty has a great collection of classic, baroque, and impressionist art that you would normally find in museums such as The Louvre of the MET. Beautiful view of Los Angeles from the top and several gardens to relax in. There are cafes available on site and snack stations.
