Everything about this place is breathtaking! The architecture, the gardens, the view, the art... and it's for free! You get a virtual guide and you can explore all the expositions available, and you can also participate in guided tours. Highly recommended!

Wonderful day out at the Getty, recommend getting to parking garage at or just after 9.30 am to beat the rush. We left at 2 pm and it was mayhem by then. We'll laid out exhibits, beautiful location and gardens. Bring a picnic if you don't want to pay high food prices on site but it is free to get in.

The Getty is a great place to visit, relax, enjoy, get inspired or learn. What a wonderful gift, a jewel of Los Angeles. The 15 min. walk, up the hill, from main parking is not too bad if you're up for it, but they do have a tram if you're not. It's free (parking about $15)

One of my favorite places in LA. Stunningly beautiful grounds, amazing architecture, quite spaces to pause & enjoy. The museum itself is free, which is truly awesome. However, you do have to pay for parking, which isn't cheap (about $9-$15). They don't have a lot of rotating art exhibits, so I often go now just to hang out outside and enjoy the view. They have several restaurants and cafe's to eat at, although some are not open all the time. The casual restaurant has good food and a variety of options, but isn't cheap. But a decent meal sitting outside under a marvelous patio with a view of LA is worth the money to me.

I d recommend to visit this place immediately if you ve haven t already.

The entire place is art down to the architecture. The very atoms that are The Getty Center/Museum are art. This is a beautiful place to go to be yourself amongst striking and magnificent works and exhibits. I recommend everyone should make an effort to see the whole thing at least once in their life.

There is a bag check, be prepared to wait in a line for the tram. The entry is free and parking is $10 - $15 depending on the time you go. Food and souvenirs are pricy of course, besides that it's a very affordable place to spend some time.

Been here twice and planning to visit as much as I possibly can. The museum's constant changing exhibits are just wonderful and educational. We love to take our time looking at various displays knowing we can always come back another day. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes because you will cover a lot of hard surface not counting stairs. You can bring snacks and water but they have restaurants to choose from. On a clear day you can see downtown LA and the ocean. Very observant staff but friendly.

What to say about one horrible man's legacy of greed and incapacity to love and give during his lifetime resulting in riches and generosity after his death?
Ends justifying the means?
Did he steal European cultural treasures, or did he save them from destruction during WW II?
I can't reconcile one man's horrid past with this brilliant show of Art for All.

Superb or amazing words are too small. If anyone decide to serve a society or human being one should learn how money can be spent for real remembrance of his name up to centuries. Really Paul Getty deserve "THE" before his name.

It is actually not that hard to get there via mass transit. There's a Rapid Line from the Expo light rail that will drop you off across the street and it's a short two minute walk to the elevator/stairs that take you up to tram.

As an European, having seen similar Art collections, the art it self was less interesting. The Center it self with its view and it's garden, and nice architecture, is awesome. Maybe one of the nicest places I have visited in LA.

So gorgeous in so many ways. I was there for a murder mystery run by Watson Adventures, had an awesome time. Had never been during the holidays, loved the snowflakes projected everywhere.

Absolutely beautiful museum. The land and architecture is very impressive. Each idea is carefully thought through and creates a really nice experience for all guests. I recommend getting the self guided tour - only because I didn't and I felt like I was missing out.

I came here with a friend on a Tuesday of thanksgiving week. We got there at 2 p.m. the parking was full, but they told us to come again in 10 min. And that's what we did & we were able to get into their parking with no trouble. It was great!

Possibly the best museum we ve been to. Both the wife and I were a bit taken back by the beauty of The Getty and it s art collection. The fact that it s free to attend is a bit mind blowing. The buildings are an architectural triumph and the gardens are very well-maintained. The Getty family have done a stunning job! Would definitely recommend as one of the must-do things in LA.

This is one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever been in. Made mostly from huge blocks of marble brought over from Italy that were cut so precise they are grout-less.

Inside these stunning buildings are rotating art exhibits brought in from all over the world. Check online to find what's currently showing.

The gardens are expertly designed and tended too. Take a walk thru the gardens and explore its beauty.

The have an excellent restaurant and cafeteria here. I usually eat at the cafeteria as it is much higher end still than your typical cafeteria food.

Stunning views of LA and the ocean.

The topper.. it's all free except parking.

One of my favorite museums, not because of the exhibits but because of the architecture of this place. It's simply worth the trip, just to stroll in it's magnificent gardens and inspiring interiors and exterior.

It s a nice place to spend whole day here if you enjoy these masterpieces, cool ac and friendly staff. This is a free museum, which is nice to students and educational meaning for people who love art.

This place is spectacular! Plus it is free. The art collection and works here is the most extensive in Los Angeles. Parking is pretty easy, and you just take the tram to the top. The garden and the views are also some of us in Los Angeles. I recommend checking it out, you will not be disappointed

Beautiful place to chill with family, friends, and significant others. They have live events every now and then that add energy to the space. The art is cool but I would come here for the ambience and views.

Beware the big spiders that hang around the webs in the flower garden! Lol

Be prepared for all day. They will provide iPods for free to listen to documentary of items there. Leave ID. $15 parking. Entry to the museum is free. Astonishing pieces. What a life this guy must of lived.

Awesome museum! And not just a museum, as I'm not really into museums, but the Getty has unbelievable vistas overlooking L.A. beautiful views to the ocean, even Catalina on clear days, of Westwood, Century City and West L.A. The grounds at The Getty are worth walking around and relaxing on the lawn or one of the many benches.

A nice place to spend the day. One thing if you are a parent with small children: Although they have a child's area, please do not bring your small kids to ANY art museum. It is not an amusement park and hearing you bored offspring whining or screaming because they are bored is very rude to others. Leave them with a sitter.

Incredible place. I highly recommend this place. The art work is unbelievable. The views are priceless. No cost to get in. If you are in good shape walk up to the museum from the parking structure it's about 20 to 30 minute walk up hill. If you are not in good shape take the tram is only a 2 minute ride up and is free. The only thing you pay is for the parking. Plenty of parking. I recommend to get there early, because traffic can back up to the street. Excellent place.

Top drawer. Shows what oil money can do spent well. The architecture alone is enough reason to go. The garden is fantastic. The art is super and well displayed. No entry fee just pay for parking $20.

One of the most gorgeous architecture venues in LA. Just all around beautiful. Their art collection is extensive although much of it is not contemporary (they do have some exhibits though). Even if you are not an art lover the grounds are so peaceful and something everyone should experience.

Wow! Just wow.. What a fabulous art gallery and museum, like something taken straight out of a James Bond supervillain's villa. Great views, great architecture, great gardens, great art!

Great museum, and you can't beat free admission. Could use more places to sit down that are comfortable and not in the center of a busy room. My grandfather, who has a bad hip, struggled to find a spot where he could rest.

This is by far the best photography gallery in all of Los Angeles. They always feature a master photographers work in addition to inspiration from Master artists from all practices of Art.

The gallery space is very conducive for observation both individually and as a group.

Bring snacks, everything is spendy.

Be ready to wonder and get lost in the great works of art!

Make sure to take the tram up and walk back down on your out.

This gallery always has something new to observe as they have a rotating schedule and are constantly changing the space for each show.

Be sure to get your tickets at least a few days in advance so that you are insured a time that works best for you and your group..

The museum was a marvel, wow! Absolutely spectacular. You could walk around the buildings & gardens alone and be impressed. Getting to see Van Gogh & Monet is always an absolute treasure. But there s so much great art here.
DON T make the mistake of coming on a Saturday. I did and it was packed! The line for the tram was about 30min so we ended up doing the walk. It was beautiful in its own way, but doesn t have the same effect. The grounds are big enough that you don t feel crowded, but if you re looking for a quiet intimate experience make sure you re not there on the weekend.

What a wonderful space Getty created both indoors and outdoors. The views as you ascend and descend are magnificent all around. There are a variety of programs and exhibitions for all ages and interests. You need a full day to just wander around and take it all in.
