Amazing museum situated on a hill and it s free! The architecture of this building is stunning on its own. It also offers you some scenic views of its garden and the city. You can find a variety of art work from classics to modern. Very strong collection! And there are few options for those who get hungry. You can choose something affordable from different cuisines or an upscale restaurant.

Do not ride your bike all the way up Bundy and expect to turn right on North Chalon- big ass gate with no access to Getty entrance as promised on Google Maps. Only way to enter Getty is on Sepulveda.

The male staff is not friendly. Too arrogant especially the one guarding the East Pavilion today 22 Dec 2017, 2.30PM. I said hi and smiled, he just look away and gave a look like we were not welcome. This is an art and museum place. Why would you be there if you cant serve with attitude.

I have been here 3 times now and it never gets old! There is always something new to see. Even if it's just to walk around and look at beautiful things what more can you ask for! Only pay for parking and the staff is awesome! I take my 71 year old mother and they have wheelchairs for when she feels a bit tired.

Beautiful architecture, with amazing views of Los Angeles. It is possible to see the ocean from the West side of the building. Exhibits are fascinating. The Getty is definitely worth a visit.

A rainy day caused a change of plans from an amusement park, it was suggested by a Lyft driver when I asked for an indoor venue, like a museum.
What a most pleasant alternative! The Getty is such an impressive private collection of art, I spent the entire day here. Next time I'm in southern CA, I will plan a trip to visit The Villa in Malibu.

The Getty is a 5 star experience in so many ways. The art collection is one of the best on the West Coast, the grounds and buildings are visually inspiring, and the restaurant is a foodie's delight!

Just a regular guy from Texas meandering through this place in awe. No education or training required--the work speaks for itself. Guided tours available, along with self-paced audio tours. Maybe next time. This place is incredible! And it's free! Must see. Enjoy. SW

Gorgeous views is combined with precious artwork and fabulous architecture at Getty. And it's free of charge except for the parking fee. We also enjoyed a free architecture tour which provided us with invaluable insight into the history and structure design of the campus.

Love this place. Visually pleasing.

Love this place. Visually pleasing.
There's a little car that takes you uphill and down.
Parking here is like 20 bucks. Spacious parking garage, many levels.
I loved the bestiary exhibition they had a while back.
The tour guide is great, bring your own earbuds to connect to the radio aid they have in order to hear what is being said clearly. I prefer my own ear buds over what they give you.
If you're the type of person who loves taking pics for social media, they're lots of places to get shots.

Great place to spend your day. Set up at the top of a mountain makes for breathtaking views of the city and the mountains all around. The beautiful gardens and architecture make this place very serene. Wonderful array of arts, sculptures and Getty's collectables.

Best museum I could have visited with my mom and kids and my brother's family. Never knew entrance is free. Parking is only $15 and the tram is gratis as well. Affordable family outing at The Getty. The culture and knowledge you gain from the various art displays and the garden is very worth the time and effort spent here. I'll be back this coming summer.

You don't need to be an art collector to enjoy this incredible museum. It may not seem like it but there is easy access to parking. Follow the signs and it will all be worth it. Very motivating.

Brings tears to my eyes. Seeing original works is a very moving experience. So many amazing works in one place.
Free entrance, $15 parking for a priceless day. My tips: Give yourself time to REALLY look at the works of art. Read a good basic book on artwork before going to give reference to how lucky we are to be able to see these. Look not only at the overall work of art but at the techniques you can see up close. Let the art composition tell you the story the artist hoped you would see. Look at the people in the art as someone you might have known had you lived during that time. Almost all are painted from real people as models who were kind enough to help the artist tell their story. Look with you eyes first, your brain second, and your heart last of all.

Best!

Beautiful buildings filled beautiful art. The gardens outside are lovely and many people enjoy lounging on the grass. On a clear day you can see for miles in every direction as the building sits atop a big hill.

As far a museums in Southern California go The Getty Center is worth spending several hours exploring. During my visit in late December the gardens were closed. The Manet exhibition is worth seeing especially the portraits that have not been in the same room in 40 years. It takes considerable time to get through security and onto the optional tram that takes you up the hill. Parking is available and there is a public bus that drops off across the street from the Getty. The views are stunning especially close to sunset with the pacific ocean in the distance. The Cafe closes at 2:30 pm. Although I like the Getty I enjoyed my time at the Huntington Library gardens in Pasadena more.

If you are in Los Angeles and like Art you MUST visit this place. There is a cost, around $10. To reach there, you must park you car and get a train offered by them. I believe you should schedule a good time to see all attractions. Besides that, you still have a option to go there and see the whole Los Angeles for there, amazing view.

It's a hug to run across an art museum where the architecture of the building perhaps superior to the collection of art with him. The views, vistas, & ocean breeze make this place a truly unique southern California treasure. Should definitely be on your short list if you're visiting and on your bucket list if you don't live here at all a quick Google search should yield plenty of images to let you know what to expect, however they do it no justice on being there in person is beyond words and breathtaking.
