Fantastic in every way: the architecture, the view, the expositions... This is one of the most beautiful museums I have ever visited! One tip for those who truly want to appreciate everything the Getty has to offer is to go at least twice, once with friends, another time alone, and always reserve a whole day for touring, because just one afternoon doesn't do justice.

Amazing place to spend the day at. The art is astounding and the outside art is phenomenal as well. The views of LA from the many terraces make for great panoramic pictures. It's a must.

Very impressive. The location and physical facilities were excellent! No entrance fee, you just have to pay for parking. They have excellent paintings, statuary, architecture, gardens and archaelogical artifacts on exhibit. Audio devices are provided free for self guided tours although guided tours are also available. Regretfully, I was unable to see everything I wanted to see because of health reasons but I would certainly want to come back again. Incidentally they also have a free trolley to ferry people from the parking area to the exhibits.

What a great place to lose yourself while appreciating classic art. The exhibitions change regularly and I have visited twice in two months. It surprised me seeing exhibits missed the first time despite thinking I had seen it all. Once is never enough.

I couldn t believe I d never been to the Getty Museum before this. First, it s completely free! Second, it s home to some of the best views in the city of Los Angeles. It is also home to some of the most priceless artwork in our history. Some really great pieces by Van Gogh, Manet and Monet I would definitely recommend seeing the new Manet exhibit, with so many timeless painting by him! I could definitely spend an entire day here, but would recommend going early in the morning to avoid midday crowds.

The Getty museum is amazing. The only thing you have to pay for is parking. As you ride the tram to the Getty, you get a very nice view of Los Angeles. Once you get to the Getty, you can see Priceless works of art, statues, exhibits of furniture and decorative items from Europe, or you can stroll through the Lush Gardens and take in the beauty of the natural setting as well as Modern Art statues.

A fantastic museum that is a must see for SoCal residents. There is so much history and beauty there. The GF and I spent about 6 hours there and we still didn't have enough time to see everything. For those on a budget they have a lovely picnic area beside the parking structure to relax in the shade and eat. I left the museum feeling artistically rejuvenated.

This place is magical. When you need a break from the breathtaking works of art, the outdoor spaces are amazingly calming and the views are spectacular. Take a stroll through the gardens, too.

I cannot stress enough how wonderful this museum is. Every design aspect was thoroughly thought-out and no details were spared. My favorite was the impressionists exhibit. I could easily spend several days at the Getty.

The Getty is a place that you have to visit even if you are not an art lover, I am, so it is a win-win for me.

The architecture of the facility is amazing and the staff make you feel welcome no matter what your question. It is very easy to park and hop on their short train trip up to the museum.

Their food area is self service. It has a great selection of hot or cold meals. The prices are within reason and their is plenty of seating inside or outside.

Not only is their amazing art easy to view in the buildings on multiple floors, but the art in the gardens outside is beautiful. The outdoor gardens are very spacious with plenty of area to just sit on the grass and enjoy the views around the facility and the city below.

Definitely plan on several hours, even if you just want to relax and casually look around enjoying the calming atmosphere.

Loved the amazing architecture. Shadows abound. The travertine blocks contain fossils for kids and adults to find. The gardens are beautiful. A great place to visit. Oh..and the art is vast and amazing.

One of the best museums that Los Angeles has to offer. It's free and parking is extremely cheap. So much to see, look at and admire. This place has it all and it could be a day trip. The food is usual as it is a museum and could be expensive at times. I really did enjoy the more older pieces and collections such as the Renaissance and the Roman Catholic religious pieces. Not too far from Los Angeles and parking is accessible for everyone. You do have to wait for the little tram and that could be time-consuming if there's a long line in front of you. Overall, a must-see location if you're a LA resident or visiting tourist.

Had a great time! Displays were very nice and interesting. Handicap parking was great! Team is constantly running, not much wait time. Guided tours are free and are great if you have the time, if not, pick up the free head phones and guide yourself and listen to the interesting facts as you move along through the museum. You have to start when it opens, there is just so much to see, you cannot see it all in one day. Will definitely go again!

Amazing vistas of LA. Hail a car from the beach and it costs less than parking at The Getty. Be sure to use the website for The Getty to get to the entrance, because otherwise Google maps will take you to a back exit where you can't access the museum. It's worth the time for the gardens alone, nevermind the art.

Really cool book of beasts exhibit and courtyard outside. Wish we had more time to explore the grounds! The place is huge. Recommend spending at least a couple hours here. Beautiful gardens, interesting exhibits. Only thing is it closes really early

Always amazing exhibits. Parking is very cheap and the museum is free. It's also very large so you don't usually feel crowded. Be sure to pack a lunch and eat outside on the patio! The food is very expensive.

Not only a Museum for arts and culture, you can stroll around the place for foods and garden, and also you can visit the special exhibition if there is one. Good city view of Los Angeles and Pacific Ocean. Highly recommended if you are in LA.

This is an amazing complex. First let me say I am not into art. My interest in The Getty is it's architecture, construction, gardens and surrounding acreage. First, I was fascinated by the parking garage. Seven stories underground into the mountain. I was early so I traveled all the way down; I was curious how far it goes. There's room there for 1200 cars. Second was the tram from the garage to the complex. I guess the tram is nothing special but it feels like it's something special due to the steep grade you travel. I also walked the drive from the garage to the complex and was interested in the pine trees which were planted along the road.

The Getty Complex is only about 20 years old being built in 1997. They shipped in stone from Italy for construction which is used everywhere through the complex. The stone is Tavertine and is quite porous. I was told that the stone is treated every year with a coating which protects the stone; however there are many places of erosion and cracks even after only 20 years.

The gardens must be constantly updated as everything there was in bloom which in real life would not happen. I found the rebar trees particularly interesting and clever; I believe these are off the shelf items (i.e. the curves standard).

There are many aspects of the construction of the complex which I'm sure is lost on the average visitor such as the underground stream which was diverted up and then down to the Italian Grotto. Also the amphitheater approach to the the complex, etc. In all, the complex is cleverly built and from what I have been told can withstand an earthquake more than factor 7. The views from top of the mountain are great in every direction.

Of course if you want to see paintings, The Getty has plenty of them.

Beautiful place to visit. It's a must go if you are in or around Los Angeles. It's has romantic outdoor garden and various statues to see. Good selection of restaurant and coffee, service beer and wine. And interior is a great selection of arts, furniture, painting, photography, etc. If you are visiting with kids, they have family facility where the kids can discover, read, draw, paint, etc. It's worth the drive, and the additional is FREE
