This place is amazing! Free admission, just pay to park. We spent the whole day and I was very impressed. I will definitely be back, it was the highlight of My vacation!
This place is huge. Went to 5 different special / traveling exhibits last time. Each of the 4 main buildings takes hours to go through. Then there are all the different tours of the exhibits and gardens. Then the outdoor sculptures. The cafe is nice, though I take my own gluten free food. I just check my lunch bag at the coat check upon entering. The main restaurant does have many gluten free options. You do have to pay $20 for parking, $15 after 3 pm., all the tours are free.
I recommend starting at the special exhibit room as that is usually the most spectacular and tells a wonderful story. Then to the garden for some fresh air. Then to the North tower and slowly work your back down the hill. Do not forget the exhibit in the research center.
Everything was good except for those mean ass witches that escort u to the tram. All they did was yell at the kids..i went with a class, and were very rude. I hope u are reading this!
This is a must see if you're in LA. For a $15 fee for parking, an entire carload can experience what the Getty Center has to offer. A great deal! The art exhibits, views of LA and the restaurant has good tasting food to boot. I wish we could have spent more time here. I also like the openness of the center as well.
Spacious, bright, clean museum. It has good exhibits. However, there are some things that made the trip less enjoyable. The trams were out of use for a while so there was a little bit of a wait time to go up there. The food in the resturant was delicious but very overpriced.
The museum is ok. Beautiful grounds. Had to wait over 20 minutes for the tram to get down to our car, they wouldn't let you walk down. Parking is 15.00
Nice views on top! Sufficient parking and worth a visit. The little tram to get up there is nice also. Btw, consider walking down, it's really not that far! ;-)
Amazing pieces of art. You only have to pay 15 dollars to park. No entrance fee.
The Getty is more than a museum, it s an architectural wonder. It s all free, just find transportation there as it s a ways away, like everything in LA. Give yourself and full afternoon there like 3-5 hours to take it all in. Take the architectural tour as it s fascinating and provided from very passionate staff. The Getty is a glistening gem in an off white colour scheme throughout. The space is a thoughtful consideration of modern minimalism with incorporation of bringing outdoor spaces, being nature, and overlapping with indoor spaces. Stairways are visible from the outside. Geometry is everywhere. Nothing is left to random chances with this space, well except for the garden is is a complete opposite of the building layout. The minimalism you get with architecture is juxtapose with the maximalism of the garden. Colours everywhere beautiful laid out. Chances are you will be spending most of your time in the garden as it is spectacular from every camera vantage point. The Getty is a Must for everyone whether you love art and architecture or not!
Amazing place, the gardens are beautiful with great views of LA.
Good place to view LA from , come around sunset -it s spectacular.
Very beautiful setting for incredible art. The Museum itself is powerful art. Like visiting a Cathedral to art !
Great museum. Really big, can spend the whole day there. Beautiful all around!
Spent a whole day and didn't see it all. Love the Getty Center, its gardens and architecture. The exhibitions are icing on the cake.
A unique place. Definitely an (under rated) cultural landmark of LA. Must visit for the gardens and exhibitions!
Wonderful experience. My first time at the museum, great for a family outing. If your visiting Cali like myself and enjoy the arts definitely a point of interest you need to mark on your maps. Admission is free, parking is not.
It was a full day. So much to see. Don't miss this!
This is a beautiful place to see art and nature beautiful The View of Santa Monica is a spectacular
Love the endless opportunities to view historical artwork. Unfortunately, several areas were closed off and food service was very limited.
Beautiful museum, high reccomend for the whole Family or loved one
Parking was awful!! Took 25 minutes to get to a spot. Not sure if you can park off sepulveda at the temple and walk across the street, it would save a lot of time. We're grabbed umbrellas and walked down to the parking lot. Super crowded on Saturday, I would recommend going during the week.
Amazing building and view, l was a bit disappointed with expositions expecting more modern and up to date. Worth it but if you're European the medieval tapestry you do not want to see again
What an amazing experience to visit. The exhibits were phenomenal. Can't wait to come back and see more. It's a definite multiple trip experience!
The museum and views are great. However, they have to be more prepared with pregnant women and mother with little kids and not have them stay on line for 30 min.to pass security check.
Wonderful experience. Planning on coming back next time I'm in the area. The architecture is beautiful and the exhibits are interesting.
Wonderful exhibits and beautiful views...and it's free!
The gardens were beautiful and the art was fantastic. Lots of people though, so be prepared.
Beautiful and architecturally fantastic! I love that the museum in done in several separate buildings you have to come outside to get to them. You'll see their immaculate and beautiful landscaping. The flowers and the manicured lawn is almost begging you to come sit and take deep breaths while taking a quick, while may not be needed, rest. It's a great place to visit on a beautiful weather day.
The in midst of all of the clean modern edges there is a balance of water and beautiful gardens of flowers and trees. The paintings and drawings that are on exhibit to the statues, period furniture and things is all fantastic.
They do have umbrellas you can borrow for when you're walking around outside on a warm day or if there is a sprinkle of rain on your visit.
Amazing buildings and facilities, and satisfying selection of art. The free admissions are definitely a plus. Food on site was decently priced and eating it while looking over the gardens was definitely a highlight.
Beautiful place and FREE! Good restaurant to lunch. I recommend.
Absolutely love this museum. They have great exhibits, and they get a lot of amazing touring exhibits. This is definitely a great all day event all year long. The architecture is beautiful, the views are amazing and their food options are great for all budgets. Also, you only have to pay for parking, there are no ticket fees. So I recommend carpooling.
Was really nice, didn't like the kids play in the museum and Parents didn't say anything
My aunt decided to take my 3 kids for there first time. They absolutely love this place especially the kids garden. So beautiful as always and a great place for bring the family.
Absolutely beautiful, clean space, cute shop, lovely place
The collection of modern buildings in a classical composition and beautiful landscape creates a rich and inspiring experience.
The Getty Museum contains a fantastic collection of art including paintings, sculptures, photographs, furniture, and more from some of the best artists and artisans the world has ever known.
Thanks to people who are willing to distribute their wealth to the world I enjoyed this great museum for free.
The best part is the garden and the view.
Amazing views and amazing art. Bring your camera! The cafe has decent pricing, but the restaurant can be pricey.
Very clean, interesting exhibits and beautiful gardens.
We in Los Angeles are fortunate that the Getty brings us art and beauty from around the world and are able to view it free (relatively) of charge. A perfect place to visit for any folks visiting Southern California or any long-time resident looking for an engaging and relaxing afternoon, with breathtaking views to match.
Great museum, great selection of art, set in a wonderful environment. Unique in every regard. A highlight in the cultural wastelands of Los Angeles.
I really enjoyed my time there. It was amazing and interesting!
As long as weather is good, fantastic views. They have different tours for the garden and architecture. Try all of them. Collection of paintings is also very good. Food is good.
Great collections, very nice place to spend time with family or friends. Staff is nice and helpful.
My family and I had fun. There are so many beautiful spots for pictures. It took the longest time to find parking, but that's not too bad.
Variety of paintings, sculptures, photography, etc in well laid out settings. Beautiful views and buildings.
Great docents and lots of support personnel. Exhibits outstanding and the gardens very well tended. Gift shops with affordable and some high end items.
You have to go there if you visit L.A. It's also for free
The one place you will never regret. The care and attention to details in design cleanliness and maintenance of Getty Museum is just awesome. You probably need at least two days to completely enjoy the whole museum fully.
A mix of great art around the world, with a nice view of L.A.
It still amazes me that the entire museum, gardens, and view will cost you only $15 in parking! Take advantage of this place! If you come for the view, the first hour of parking is free.
Great place to spend the evening and see some art as the sunset down the Santa Monica mountains.
Rooms and rooms of art , painting etc from famous artists. Was only a short distance from our hotel
The Getty Museum is a fun place to explore art. It is more better than any art museum I went to.I went to it two times already!
This museum was fantastic, well worth a visit and free! The building and the view was spectacular.
Possibly one of the most beautiful and important places u can visit in so Cal. U will not be dissapointed
Fantastic art museum featuring a beautiful view from the mountain top on which perched as well as beautiful artwork within. A must when in Los Angeles. Free to enter but parking garage costs $15.00.
Truly spectacular art, architecture, and views. Don't miss it when you visit L.A.
Great place to visit but the youthful staff handling parking and shuttle bus services were pretty unfriendly the evening I went there.
Beautiful view from Central Garden, although a bit chilly
