Visited this museum on a Friday noon time, not many people there. Was easy to walk through the museum. We enjoyed the fashion photography exhibit very much. The grounds were spectacular and we spent about two hours making our way through with their guided audio tour. It s a must see in LA!

Brought my family here when they came into town to visit me, its a truly wonderful experience. The museum is actually free, you pay for parking, but thats it. A unique experience for LA, sweeping views, beautiful gardens, highly recommend!!

Can't get enough of this! What an amazing place to go and the collection of paintings. Including of the monarchy taste of their life by seeing many pieces of the furniture in the exhibits! This Getty has a great view of city, but be wise...wear comfortable shoes there's some walking. I would consider this place more walking than the Getty Villa because it quite smaller.

While entrance to the museum is free, you have to pay for parking, which is about $15. This would be the time to carpool and take as many friends/family you can!

When you first get in, you get your bags checked by security. Then you can ride the tram to the museum, or you can walk. The lines for the train can get long when you're going to and from the museum, depending on what time you arrive and leave.

You could probably spend an entire day here if you take your time to look at everything, as there are several buildings to explore. There's also a beautiful outdoor garden area where a lot of people sit and have lunch/picnics.

There's great photo opps everywhere, especially the top of the building that overlooks LA. Have fun finding it & enjoy The Getty!

It is the Getty, what else can you say. The art is beautiful. They always have different exhibits and the grounds and environment make you feel like you are in another country. Everyone is very nice here. But my personal favorite ironically is the gardens. I went near the end of summer and everything was in bloom. It was out of this world. I can't wait for next year it will be even better!

Great museum to visit with the family and spend the day. They change up the art often enough so that you can always revisit and appreciate something new! I just wish the security wasn't so rude about standing close to the paintings to get a closer look.

Breathtaking place. It's a superb display of the many arts of not only painting, but of architecture, photography, landscaping, sculpture, and more. Not to mention free. If you decide to walk it is a bit of a climb, but they do have the options of taking a trolly or bus to the top if desired.

This museum is fabulous. I am impressed and in love. I was there to see the Artful Words Calligraphy display and so happy I saw it. I didn't have enough time to see everything but I was enjoyed every item. The building itself was a work of art, but the pieces were amazing. Go see this museum. It's free, only pay for parking.

Beautiful museum! Much easier to make peace with not seeing everything and just wander and enjoy the setting than pushing through gallery after gallery. A walk through the gardens is a must, though. Free museum, but parking is $20 a car. Definitely consider bringing in food to picnic on site.

Come to the Getty in the afternoon and stay for the sunset. As the museum is located at the top of the hill, it is a great spot to watch the sunset over the city.

The Getty itself is super interesting with a large and extensive collection of artworks. They also take the time to explain the pictures, both for their story and art technicalities which makes it very educational for people who are not well versed in art.

Do not miss the central garden and cactus garden in the south pavillion too which are really pretty. You can lounge around on the grass at the central pavillion for a short afternoon respite too.

Not too big but pretty cute, the garden is well designed, although it feels a little messy. The maze in the pool is the heart of the garden. Traffic is fine but when I arrive at 12pm, the garage is full.

Parking is a bit of a hassle, but once you've parked and are on the way to the museum, it's great. No charge for admission, great views, and great/famous artwork. Give yourself a few hours do you don't feel rushed trying to see everything.

Wonderful place to see art of the past couple centuries. It has everything from fascinating works of art from artists like Van Gogh, to the wonderful sculptures and colourful gardens in the back. It is a place you can spend the day at just looking at all of this art and I recommend going in Spring or Summer where the weather is nice as there are many exhibits outside.

Driving on the 405, or sitting in traffic from my apartment, I can always see The Getty on a nice clear night or a sunny day. There are a few things that I love about The Getty. The art, the architecture, and the inspiration that The Getty gives to its visitors. It is truly aesthetically pleasing. As a kid, I used to think it was an amusement park because of the tram, but after friends persuaded me it wasn't, I realized it was a place for creativity and innovation for art.

I cannot believe that this place is free. Beautiful architecture, immaculate gardens, and stunning artwork from a variety of artists across the globe. An incredible way to spend a day or two.

The Getty center is free and there is a lot to see here. There are many different types of art exhibitions and because of the location you get amazing views of the city. But the buildings are very cool too and the garden was nice even though it was a bit off season for the vegetation.

There are some cafes and places to eat here too so its easy to spend a whole day here.

We got a bit lost with our Uber driver because we put in Getty center as destination, which is quite far away from the pick up/ drop off location. You have to enter Getty center by the free train which is a bit further north.

Not to be missed. The Getty was the highlight of my visit to LA after my night at . the Opera. The setting is gorgeous and the exhibits are incredible. Except for parking, it's free!!!

I work there as well. No attack ships, but would you believe (apologies to Maxwell)...running in to your absolutely favorite movie director on a Sunday morning just after opening. Sitting on a bench, silently viewing the photograph 'Our Lady of the Iguanas'. I observed as well from a distance, and decided to give him the gift of a moment. A moment in time that the museum was his alone, devoid of people wanting his attention. I love the man's body of work, but never regretted the Sunday silence I gifted him (but oh how I would have loved to ask about Rumble Fish)...

Awesome place to spend a Saturday. Walk up the mountain and take the trolley back. It's a beautiful walk. The whole museum is well kept and clean. It's free and you only pay for parking. Staff is all friendly within the museum but parking staff need to work on customer service skills, all of them!

Beautiful museum to go during the day but also at night. You ll find art pieces from all different periods. Entrance is free and they ll provide you a wheelchair for free in case you need it. You only need to pay for parking that is $20, and $15 after 3 pm. There are Aldo restaurants and places to buy snacks. The gardens and the view are beautiful and guards and personnel very friendly.

Nice clam serene place. Visit here to take break from routine rush of LA theme parks.

They also have area for kids to enjoy and explore their creativity.

Add plus include beautiful view of LA and tram ride on a tram that appears to be running on hover technology

Absolutely beautiful place to see beautiful artwork. Went on a Saturday afternoon and I suggest to go earlier. There was a line with about a 30-minute wait for the tram. We opted to take a 12-15 minute walk (slightly inclined most of the way) and they were nice enough to offer umbrellas for the walk. Thank heck cause it was hot that day! There were rooms for Rembrandt and Van Gogh. There was also this furniture section which was intriguing to me with all the intricate details. There was a live band playing in the courtyard somewhere which was a very nice touch once it cooled down a little.

Loved it and I wish we could come back the next day. The exhibitions are treated with space and great lighting. The whole experience from the tram up to the top to dining in the restaurant was a complete enjoyment. Even my 8 and 11 year old was awestruck. We concentrated on the Egyptian section, it is not the British museum here, but the in depth explanations with the audio guide was detailed and kept the interest going. I could rattle on for ages but to cut it short..... go!

Great architecture, garden and collection of art makes this a family friendly, must visit when you are in LA. Plan to spend 2-3 hours and take the architecture tour and see the orientation video as well. Enjoy the vistas from the viewpoints and the gardens as well.

Amazing place, something there for everyone. The best part is admission is free but you either have to pay for parking or get a ride there. Nice thing is they have a ride sharing place where ubers or taxis can pick you up from. Could spend the whole day here and still not see everything. Must checked out the cactus garden along with the skyline view of L.A.

I visited quite a few most famous museums in the world, but The Getty in one of the kind! Unlike other museums, everything is under the roof, at The Getty, you can see status scattered around in the plaza and gardens, looking so lively. As soon as I walked into the marble staircase of the arrival plaza, immediately attracted the two sculptures: 'Air' and 'Boy with Frog'. There are so many arts collections on display, but apart from the exhibitions, you can enjoy the amazing Cactus Garden and the beautiful Central Garden as well. The cafe is also nice. Appreciate the legacy of Mr. J. Paul Getty! It's a great museum!

The Getty is a great place to get out to see art and people. An enjoyable day to stroll and take in history and creative works. Or just to relax on the grounds, while people watching and taking in views of the surrounding area and the Pacific.

Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring your shades for walking around the grounds.

The Getty can be quite confusing so, grab a map to guide you from place to place. This is not a place that you will see everything in a day; make your choices and go for it. Also, bring your patience. On busy days, parking can take some time, as well as, getting through the security bag check before taking the tram up the hill to the museum. Enjoy!

The BEST museum in Los Angeles, if i had to choose. The architecture alone will captivate you for hours, the garden is always buzzing with new flora and fauna. Pro tip: good walking shoes!! Parking is at the bottom of the hill and you have to catch the tram up to the museum itself.

Some good art. Nice view. But the stairs from the garden to the building are way too short. Just have 2/3 as many stairs, and make them taller! Right? Am I wrong? Walking on them was deeply frustrating. Going down was easier. Three stars.
