Absolutely breathtaking architecture. Easily accessible with the tram!! I'm amazed at how everything is free. The headphones are clean and the smartphone app is easy to navigate. I could easily spend hours and hours in this place.
November Placebo Lots of culture anderen Nature at the Park
For those interested in Arts
. However found this place to be hyped up.
Amazing place. Full of things to look at, learn from and reflect upon.
A great place to visit and you c ant beat the price.
This museum had amazing architecture and views of downtown LA. The tram ride up the mountain was also nice.
Wonderful gallery in a beautifully tranquil location
i love the getty! they always have cool exhibits coming through. one of my favorites was decades of fashion last summer. parking has gotten expensive but there is no admission fee! also you can pay for parking here and get into the getty villa in malibu on the same day. i think there's a discounted rate after like 3pm? my favorite part of the getty is definitely the outside garden. the landscape tour is a must!
Set on top of a hill overlooking downtown LA and surroundings, this museum is a must see. The collections are arranged in a chronological pattern making it easy to follow. The white marble and abundant use of glass make the experience quite airy.
This was an great experience. You need to come back a few times to see everything. The only negative is that it is quite popular and can be crowded with lines to take the tram from the parking lot to the exhibits. You also get a very nice view of LA city and ocean. Parking was 15 dollars which seems fair when you consider the exhibits are all FREE!
Incredible place to visit for an afternoon! The buildings and gardens are gorgeous and the exhibits were awesome! So glad we went!
Love the place easy to get around. Some awesome art work that gives you historic perspective of art in older time. Oh and the best thing it is FREE!!!!
The Getty has so much artwork, architecture, and foilage. There is artwork from the Renaissance, Baroque, and Classical periods. The gardens a serene. There is a restaurant, but the food is pricy. Great family museum and I recommend at least two days to see the whole thing, since there is so much.
That is an amazing beautiful museum ,wow , in the gardens are beautiful !
Great place for adults and kids alike with lots of open spaces and gardens. Current Egypt exhibit is really fascinating with mummies and hyroglyphs and it also teaches the history of how the Egyptian and Greek empires intersected.
Easy parking with great access to spectacular views and priceless art. Single per car fee provides access to the facility.
Absolutely incredible place. One of the top if not the best destination of LA County.
My family and I had a wonderful day at the Getty Center!!
Very stimulating pieces ...great collection and location..the gardens are wonderful as well
Not a typical museum. Beautiful ourdoor space. Great art collection.
Awesome place, tram ride up the hill, scenical and relaxing, lot to explore and learn. Good to reserve half day for this place.
Amazing place to check out! Nice little museums and tour areas to check out. The structures are absolutely beautiful and the surrounding areas at The Getty. Would recommend a day trip visiting here. A great date spot or a spot to just explore and see amazing museums and scenery.
A person could go to this place on a regular basis on not see and appreciate everything. We have been so excited about every visit. The art is phenomenal and the gift shops have excellent selections with decent prices. We have never been disappointed! And lets not forget the Million Dollar Views! WOW! Well worth the visit!
The icons of style exhibit was gorgeous. Life at the Renaissance court exhibit awe inspiring. Can't wait to go back.
Incredibly awesome place to visit. The collection is varied and all nicely displayed. The outdoor venues were so much more appealing to me on a glorious day.
Great place to go. Make sure you give yourself enough time to see everything. Parking was $15, but that is all you pay.
A dynamite museum in los angeles. Definitely worth a trip. Come see all the art. Literally, all of it. They have such a wide ranging eclectic collection from centuries past.
Parking is 20$ per car, but entrance is free. We took a rideshare here and it ended up being more than if we just drove. Oh well.
The food court is expensive though, so eat before you come.
Always an amazing place to visit with amazing artwork. They have rotating pieces so even after you've seen their permanent installments you can still go back for temporary exhibits. For the exhibits, there's also tours you can go on or self-guided yours. The have a cafe cart and an amazing, but expensive, restaurant. The gift shops are pricey of course but I always just go for the post cards; you get to take a small bit of the art home. Some days are crazy busy and other are low traffic so be wary of what day and time you're going. If you enjoy seeing art and/or learning about it, you won't regret visiting. There's also a second location that's worth the visit too.
Excellent collection, well laid out so you have plenty of space to look and enjoy. Views can't be beat! Also had a great meal at the main restaurant.
It's absolutely gorgeous. You could easily spend 2 hours here. If you're really into the artwork, most likely more.
Majestic art of highest level at a beautiful place. What can you ask for more?
This is an amazing must see place to visit. The staff are friendly and helpful. The art is beautiful, the garden is wonderful, and the architecture is awesome. Even with all of the crowds of people and crazy parking, I have never had a bad experience in the four times I've been here.
Enough there to spend the day. Beautiful views of LA too. Go there Fri or Sat when they are open late (9PM).
Marvelous collection of priceless culture and art. A "bucket list" event.
Great for family and friends. Beautiful art and architecture.
The Getty has more oomph from the architechture and views and gardens than the actual collection. Something about a miserly oil barron's taste in art is a little off-putting. Although I do like the Impressionist collection with Van Gogh's "Irises." I recently visited to see a traveling exhibit on Rembrandt imitating art from India. The exhibit was not clear as to how Rembrandt's subsequent work was influenced by his study of Indian artwork, and frankly I liked the Indian artwork better. But maybe that's because I am not familiar with Rembrandt's work.
Exquisite collection of fine arts and breathtaking city views.
Love this place; could spend days here admiring the arts
Great museum, great views, always good to spend time in a gallery
If you've never been, it's worth the trip. Plan to take as much time as you can. Lots to see.
Wonderful exhibits free admission only pay 15 bucks for parking.
Unbelievable location, and free. Enjoy the exhibits and great view of the entire LA basin.
So much to see! Your adventure starts with a tram ride from the parking lot. Outdoor gardens are beautiful with fountains. Lots of buildings to explore.
Love the Getty, go for the art, stay for the view. Very calming.
1. The parking lot is v confusing.2. They should us perennials instead of annuals in the garden. 3. The garden guide should know the names of the plants.
Misled by the 4.7rating and went there today. It is still a boring art exhibition with some weird pictures that no one really knows how to appreciate. A waste of my day.
A must visit. A lot better than what I expected. So much to see here. Fantastic place to visit!
Beautiful place! We never really go through the exhibitions, but we love the garden!!
This was a great experience and it was easy to become immersed in the different showings from early Europeans artist using pastels to the great Gordon Parks,Sr Life magazine photojournalist article on poverty in Rio De Janeiro. Plus, picked up a book by J.P.Getty on how to become rich. The museum served as an excellent background for very nice pictures of LA. We finished with a great lunch at the restaurant where the ambience and service was great.
Stunning, plan on staying in town for a few days to be able to see everything.
Not really the place for me. Im not an art lover. It had some nice views. Expensive parking
Beautiful free expansive art museum with pop up exhibits cycling through every quarter
Great place! Free to get in, just parking is 15. Well worth it and beautiful
Extremely beautiful and free. You only get to pay $20 for parking. There is a tram to get to the actual museum. Totally worths it.. wish I could get married there. Lol
Beauty. Peace. Stone. Panoramic cityscape. Trusted Classics and dynamic unknown explorations. Good food. Always leaves you wanting more.
Wonderful collections. Art lovers must visit and enjoy the feast for eyes.
Phenomenal museum! Do not miss it. It will be a great experience for you and your family.
I have been to the Getty Villa in Malibu a couple of times and it has it's own uniqueness and charm however the new Getty is a MUST see for so many reasons you will love...Go, and experience this new beautiful museum.
I love the Getty and I've come here many times before. The only reason I docked a star was because the cafe nor the restaurant was open when I went. The cafe cart was open but the item I wanted I was told wasn't prepared properly,so they gave me something else. Really appreciated that.
The Getty Center was beautiful the views where out standing. There was so much to see. 4 buildings. I was only able to see one building. My next visit to L.A. Getty Center here I Come!
It's the Getty: you get to see culture at a more than reasonable price.
beautiful place to walk around. I like how you have to go outside of each building to experience the beautiful surroundings in order to go to the next building to view the next exhibit in another building. Wonderful place to go. I can't believe it's free.
