Great place to visit. You will enjoy yourself of you're a tourist or a local. So much to see so make sure you give yourself enough time to take our all in. They have a great cafe and restaurant but there is also amazing food to try in the surrounding area.

Very beautiful grounds and great art that is there all the time. We had a nice time exploring the revolving exhibits as well. Very well put together museum. Rather crowded for the holiday

I never know who half the artists are when I go here, but that's because I'm a cashier from a convenience store in rural Montana. The galleries and grounds are great, the work is incredible (always), and I find myself constantly inspired and amazed at the level of quality of the exhibits. Also, I saw the writer Jim Harrison there and we had lunch together, for some strange reason. Cool, man.

Must go, and give yourself plenty of time. This place is wonderful from every aspect, exceptionally managed, this space, architecture, exhibits and tours are delightful. Remarkably it is free (including the many offered tours), parking is $20 and there s a shuttle to go up to the center. Love this place.

Entirely amazing and enjoyable. If I lived in LA, I'd be a regular - there are so many different vistas and wats to experience it, plus the union of gorgeous outside places designed for gathering separating the individual wings makes it easy to rest eyes and mind on sculpture, water, hillsides, trees, horizon, gardens, shapes created by the unique architecture of the Getty itself. Free, except parking. Don't miss this experience!

Greatly art, great architecture, absolutely amazing museum. Unbelievably, while there is a charge for parking, admission is free. Restaurant was also quite good! Even the views outside the museum are spectacular. What a great gift to the community.

This is bordering on a tourist trap. Almost empty, the mod buildings force you around and up and down (handicapped beware), not to mention the gardens. Getting up requires you to park and take the cable car, which means a lot of queueing, or else walk up the driveway sidewalk. Again, mod in the Gruen sense. Could do with a decent public connection with the rest of LA, and some art.

Was really a fun experience seeing the Getty at sunset and after dark! It has a completely different ambiance that made the visit even more special.
It can be a little of a wait to get into the tram and uphill into the Getty. Crowds sometimes are a bit big but I can't say it ruined the experience.
There's so much to look at that you may need to go back for another visit!

The Getty Museum is something to see.
There's a lot of "treasures" to oooohhh and awe over.
Sneak a packed lunch in tho because the food isn't very good. Not everyone likes gourmet food.

First time visiting, very impressed with the galleries and buildings! I was really happy that I could get up close to so many works of art. One star removed for the cafe. The staff were a little unfriendly and the dining area was messy.

Very beautiful museum in terms of the architecture and exhibits. Has a few permanent exhibits as well as rotating one. Note this is not close to the Getty Villa exhibit. Also if you decide to walk up to the museum entrance make sure to check your bags at the base.

Even if they didn't have one of the best public art collections in the west. It would be worth visiting for the just to appreciate what architect Richard Meier created with the property and the stunning vistas he created. Photo opportunities on par with Griffith Observatory. The landscaping and grounds are enchanting and a great escape from the bustle of the city below. Go early to beat crowds, or late for the best lighting and sunset photos. Totally free also, except for parking which runs $10-$15. However you can pay once for parking, at it will cover both parking at the Getty Center in Brentwood and the Getty Villa in Pacific Palisades if you do them both the same day. Try to go while they still have the Louis XIV tapestry collection on loan from France through 5/1/16, absolutely stunning.

Amazing art complex in a beautiful setting. There is a train that takes visitors up the hill to the museum. There was an issue with it when I went and we had to take a shuttle cart back down. Glad they had one. The setting in the hills and landscaped grounds are spectacular and the buildings are gorgeous. I found myself more interested in the buildings than the art. Had lunch in the cafe and that was nice. Definitely worth a visit for a few hours. Check their schedule and parking before you go.

Amazing museum. Hard to believe it is free. You do have to pay $15 to park but that is a bargain compared to what you get to see. If you really want to absorb everything get there early and plan to spend several hours.

Great gardens. Easy to navigate through the different showcases. I like the building that had some of John Paul Getty's old furniture and home decorations. I took a Lyft drive here and didn't have to pay for parking. That made up for the somewhat expensive Waters and bananas that I bought.

Serene and gorgeous place with breathtaking views! Parkings costs money and then a trolley takes you up the mountain to the museum. That being said, entrance into the museum is free of charge :) Lovely exhibits that I hear they change out every now and then?

The Getty Art Museum is an art piece itself. If you are planning a visit do not short change yourself with time. The grounds are magnificent. There are breathtaking views everywhere. And the architecture has as many ways to view it as do the art pieces themselves. Even a whole day there will leave you wanting more. Parking is in the structure at the bottom of the hill the Getty sits on. From there you can walk an easy mile up or catch a free tram to the top. They run all day. Getty generously shared his collection with the public after his death. We are so much richer for his generosity. Be sure and stay for the sunset at the end of the day.

Worth visiting this museum if you are in LA. Very big museum indoor and out door there is an amazing view including a small garden to sit and walk around .

When you reach to the parking of Getty (uber or taxi) there is a tram that take you to the museum. It does get busy and there is no fee to enter the museum.

I ve spotted animals too from the museum (if you re lucky)

They have stores in the museum if you wish to buy things and also cafe and restaurants .

Free, beautiful, and one of the most important places in LA to visit. Wonderful and historic art and artifacts and breathtaking architecture are combined with a breathtaking view of the city for an absolutely unforgettable museum.

Great way to spend a rainy L.A. day. Really enjoyed it and the architecture of the building itself is spectacular with wonderful views of the city. I didn't even mind paying the $20.00 to park. Not bad for two people when entry into the museum is free.

Great views and spectacul garedens. I didn't get to see all of the galleries but what I saw was really well done. Parking and the tram ride may turn some off but it's worth it. I will be coming back.

The Getty is Los Angeles' iconic art museum for a reason - it's just absolutely the best. There are so many displays that it will take you all day to see everything. The museum architecture is an exhibit unto itself. If possible Uber or cab here; parking is not fun. I take all my out of town friends and family here and everyone is always impressed.

Definitely a must-see spot in LA. In addition to the amazing collection of art and antiques (particularly European masters from the 17th, 18th and 19th Centuries), they usually have good traveling exhibits and the gardens are delightful. Perched on a hillside, the panoramic view spans from the Pacific to Santa Monica to Westwood and, on a clear day, Griffith and downtown. Admission is free and there is only a modest $15 fee per car to park in the underground garage, then a short tram ride up to the museum.

Best. Museum. Ever.

Best. Museum. Ever.

Every time someone from out-of-town comes to visit, we take them here for an afternoon. We've been back about a half dozen times and the Getty never fails to impress.

With sprawling grounds, historical rooms, art beyond your wildest imagination, gardens, a tram ride, tons of benches and water fountains, and even complimentary umbrellas if it starts to rain, you tend to forget that there's also an incredible view of Los Angeles.

They offer free audio tours and the staff there is the absolute best! They love their jobs and it shows!
