Just incredible! You can come here by car or bus although the parking has to be paid the entry to the Getty is free but thats not all ..theres a tran that takes you all the way to the top at no extra cost and from there you can start from anywhere you want visiting many rooms with different pieces of art each one and then also head off to the magnificent garden ..you also get beautiful views from the city , you could easily be here 3-5 hours.

A beautiful place to visit! I went with a group near closing time (unfortunately due to a delayed flight), so we only had time to explore the grounds, however they are absolutely beautiful. The architecture is stunning, and the garden is a great place to watch the sunset.

Vast art types collection with high spectrum of notable artists. This privately sought out collection is a great treat, being free with reasonable parking fees, (note: the refreshments are not cheap, however, with $8/bottle of water alone!) and easy walk up the hill if you don t want to wait for the tram (1hr estimate on our day of visit). The limestone modern architecture alone is stunning, with vistas of LA like none other.

STEM TIP: limestone is a sedimentary created rock from primarily organic materials and thus, fossils can be seen in the cut surfaces. If you look for it among the human made beautiful pieces, leaves and partial invertebrate impressions can be observed at the Getty in its 1.2M sq ft of travertine limestone!

From the moment you board the monorail to climb up to the facilities it's an awesome experience. With so many buildings it's hard to see it all. Get the free audio guide. Also there are maps in just about all the major languages.

Free to go except for parking, nice paintings there at the time we went, food was pricey and pretty good (cafe) but we were ok with it since it was free to enter the museum, photography area wasn't that great in my opinion, the overlook was awesome and overall a beautiful place, I recommend it.

You need to do this over a couple of days. At least. Much to see and enjoy, especially the Rembrandt paintings. Or come for the views. Decent snacking. Parking fee can be avoided by taking public transit.

Good selection of older European art, as well as furniture/decor from Rococo and surrounding periods. Slightly confusing layout between pavilions, however, and could use more contemporary art (I believe the most recent art I saw was a temporary exhibition). Quite high prices in the cafe. Overall a good place to go, especially if you're a fan of European art from the 1400s-1800s.

Had never been here. The buildings are very impressive. The security staff around the artifacts could be a bit nicer, they are very short and a bit rude. The outdoor areas are very nice with green grass and beautiful gardens. Nice sights to see around the area. You can also see Mt. Saint Mary's college from up top.

They had Monet exhibit on Loan. And it was so beautiful. Monet was alot like me I learned. I even got emotional. Lol learned painters painted with Greek akd Chirst balances all thrown together. And Germans learned linseed oil mixed with oil paints could be painted outside and so detailed down to one little brush

This is a world renowned museum that everyone should visit at least once on a lifetime, more often if you're able. It's difficult to describe the feeling of standing in front of an original Picasso or Van Gogh. Because there are both the permanent collections and visiting exhibits, the exoeriwncre is never the same. If you work with youth groups, I recommend scheduling a guided tour, where docents will teach kids how to appreciate the art the are seeing.

I love this FREE art museum! The architecture, garden, and grounds are beautiful, and that is just the beginning. Once you enter the museum, the amount of spectacular paintings, sculptures, and other art pieces is just amazing! I went here for a birthday trip with friends, and it was perfect. If you have the chance, go! It was such an amazing experience and I can't wait to go back.

The views are spectacular and the architecture is wonderful. The art collection is also unique and one is able to find very good variety of mediums and art from different time periods.

What a wonderful museum full of antiquities that you sometimes only see outside the huge museums in Europe. Garden area has a great view of LA, Catalina and the ocean. Definitely worth coming here.

Beautiful grounds and views of Los Angeles in addition to iconic works of art. Admission is free, but plan to pay for parking and perhaps a moderate wait to board the tram up to the museum. A restaurant and several cafes are available onsite if you make an extended visit.

How much more can be said? Its the Getty. One of the priemer museums of the world. Come often as there is too much to absorb in a single visit. Something to speak to everyone, sometimes differly as life changes us. Art speaks.

Even if you don't look at any art, the tram up is an experience all by itself. The archecture is beautiful and views of LA just as beautiful. The garden and the lawns are worth a stroll-through and maybe a picnic. During the summer, there are nights of live music or dj with dancing. Those are my favorite!

My 1st time at The Getty & and absolutely LOVED IT!!! With a family of 5 we were looking for cheap attractions while waiting for my husband's departure at Union Station and we we shocked that it was FREE!! We parked across the street for $15 and spent hours here. It's SO BEAUTIFUL!! The garden was breathtaking & I adore the peacefulness alluded here. We would be going back in a couple of weeks for the Michelangelo exhibit. I highly recommend a visit!!!
