Just incredible! You can come here by car or bus although the parking has to be paid the entry to the Getty is free but thats not all ..theres a tran that takes you all the way to the top at no extra cost and from there you can start from anywhere you want visiting many rooms with different pieces of art each one and then also head off to the magnificent garden ..you also get beautiful views from the city , you could easily be here 3-5 hours.
One of the gems of the LA--great for fanikies, for dates, for art enthusiasts, great for everyone except car commuters. Gotta pay that 15$ parking fee yo.
Amazing views, glorious art, beautiful gardens. Great place for a date.
It was amazing to see ask of the great art from different time periods
If you re looking for a great way to spend the day come check out this museum it is free and plenty to see for a day activity.
I love this center. I've been here for a twice and its really wonderful place to know.
A beautiful place to visit! I went with a group near closing time (unfortunately due to a delayed flight), so we only had time to explore the grounds, however they are absolutely beautiful. The architecture is stunning, and the garden is a great place to watch the sunset.
Vast art types collection with high spectrum of notable artists. This privately sought out collection is a great treat, being free with reasonable parking fees, (note: the refreshments are not cheap, however, with $8/bottle of water alone!) and easy walk up the hill if you don t want to wait for the tram (1hr estimate on our day of visit). The limestone modern architecture alone is stunning, with vistas of LA like none other.
STEM TIP: limestone is a sedimentary created rock from primarily organic materials and thus, fossils can be seen in the cut surfaces. If you look for it among the human made beautiful pieces, leaves and partial invertebrate impressions can be observed at the Getty in its 1.2M sq ft of travertine limestone!
My favorite place in LA. Fantastic art, architecture, and horticulture.
Love this place! A great spot to take any age group
Amazing museum, make sure to walk the gardens and enjoy the views of LA!
A wonderful place to visit with family and friends. We'll be back again soon for more exhibits! Enjoyed a nice long walk in the garden as well!
Beautiful view, lovely spot... Crowded on this Saturday!
From the moment you board the monorail to climb up to the facilities it's an awesome experience. With so many buildings it's hard to see it all. Get the free audio guide. Also there are maps in just about all the major languages.
Beatiful. 15$ Parking fee, ride-share option. Amazing view of DTLA, Beverlly Hills, LAX, Santa Monica ..
This is one of my favorite places to visit with the family or even just some alone time. I most certainly recommend it.
Beautiful place. I have been here many times and never disappointed. There is always something new and exciting to see.
Free to go except for parking, nice paintings there at the time we went, food was pricey and pretty good (cafe) but we were ok with it since it was free to enter the museum, photography area wasn't that great in my opinion, the overlook was awesome and overall a beautiful place, I recommend it.
You need to do this over a couple of days. At least. Much to see and enjoy, especially the Rembrandt paintings. Or come for the views. Decent snacking. Parking fee can be avoided by taking public transit.
Admission is free. There's a lot to see, and there are some great views from here.
A must see...a truly priceless experience for all ART lover.
Incredible architecture and gardens. A beautiful, open space to hang out. Good collection of early European paintings. Very little modern art.
I love to just go hangout on the lawn and have lunch. Oh look there's artwork too.
Amazing place! So much art work, beautiful grounds, places to eat. You need to see this!
Very nice collections. Not as rich as Manhattan's Met but there's something to be said for the more pleasant ambiance of the Getty.
I wish I would have had a full week to see everything here. It's beyond awesome.
Love that's it's free to check out this amazing museum
I love this museum. The fact that it s a free entrance is a plus. The cafeteria was a bit pricey tho, if you re on a budget like me ;) you might want to bring your own water and snacks.
Good selection of older European art, as well as furniture/decor from Rococo and surrounding periods. Slightly confusing layout between pavilions, however, and could use more contemporary art (I believe the most recent art I saw was a temporary exhibition). Quite high prices in the cafe. Overall a good place to go, especially if you're a fan of European art from the 1400s-1800s.
The viewing is spectacular, both the artwork and vistas around town.
Such a beautiful place! The gardens are a must it's a very big place so you will need almost a day if you want to see it all! Family friendly lovely pieces of art. Well kept
The tram ride to the museum is really fun and I really love their flower garden. There is a nice view from the balcony and they have a cool food court
One of the best Art Galleries I've been, and it is free. It is a must go. Just love the art the architecture not mentioning the gardens that are amazing... I totally recommend it
Magnificent place, so quite clean family and friends oriented, all you can do at one place
Amazing views....great place for the family! Free admission just have to pay for parking.
Had never been here. The buildings are very impressive. The security staff around the artifacts could be a bit nicer, they are very short and a bit rude. The outdoor areas are very nice with green grass and beautiful gardens. Nice sights to see around the area. You can also see Mt. Saint Mary's college from up top.
They had Monet exhibit on Loan. And it was so beautiful. Monet was alot like me I learned. I even got emotional. Lol learned painters painted with Greek akd Chirst balances all thrown together. And Germans learned linseed oil mixed with oil paints could be painted outside and so detailed down to one little brush
Great place to spend a day. Great art, great buildings structures. Fabulous view of Los Angeles and west side. Free entree. Just pay for packing.
This is a world renowned museum that everyone should visit at least once on a lifetime, more often if you're able. It's difficult to describe the feeling of standing in front of an original Picasso or Van Gogh. Because there are both the permanent collections and visiting exhibits, the exoeriwncre is never the same. If you work with youth groups, I recommend scheduling a guided tour, where docents will teach kids how to appreciate the art the are seeing.
I love this FREE art museum! The architecture, garden, and grounds are beautiful, and that is just the beginning. Once you enter the museum, the amount of spectacular paintings, sculptures, and other art pieces is just amazing! I went here for a birthday trip with friends, and it was perfect. If you have the chance, go! It was such an amazing experience and I can't wait to go back.
Had an opportunity to see some amazing paintings. It was pretty cool way to spend few hours
Beautiful place to spend quality time with family and friends
Coming from Europe and being an avid museum visitor I didnt think I'd love this place as much as I did. Amazing collection of art, beautiful place and easy to visit. The views are great too. A must visit in LA!
Beautiful, simple, quiet, free, great for families or just going by yourself. Noted rule of everyone being polite.
The views are spectacular and the architecture is wonderful. The art collection is also unique and one is able to find very good variety of mediums and art from different time periods.
The Getty Center is a Los Angeles landmark that everyone should visit at least once. Amazing views when the weather cooperates, beautiful gardens and architecture, and really interesting art exhibits. There are very few places like this in the world.
Beautiful grounds. The panoramic exhibit was amazing. Amazing views and friendly staff.
Wonderful place to spend the day. Between the parking for $15 and no entrance fee, its a steal. The art exhibits are interesting and the gardens beautiful
Beautiful grounds and buildings. Airy, great works of art, and a pleasant staff.
Awesome place! So many things to see and so little time. Perfect place for tourists! The garden is very beautiful. The views from the building are amazing!
Interesting architecture, beautiful garden and vistas over LA. Relatively easy to get to. Exhibition is varied so that there's something interesting for everybody.
What a wonderful museum full of antiquities that you sometimes only see outside the huge museums in Europe. Garden area has a great view of LA, Catalina and the ocean. Definitely worth coming here.
Beautiful grounds and views of Los Angeles in addition to iconic works of art. Admission is free, but plan to pay for parking and perhaps a moderate wait to board the tram up to the museum. A restaurant and several cafes are available onsite if you make an extended visit.
Great place to get away from the craziness of the city
Beautiful place, no entry fee just pay for parking
Had a great time enjoying this beautiful art collection. $15 for parking, free tram ride and entry. Can't be beat.
Wonderful collection of art including a variety of the masters along with beautiful grounds and views.
Modern architecture. Has well maintained facilities and a beautiful garden
I love this place. There is something about the Getty that is magical. My favorite time is when its raining and foggy, it feels like a whole nother world. Two paintings I absolutely loved.
How much more can be said? Its the Getty. One of the priemer museums of the world. Come often as there is too much to absorb in a single visit. Something to speak to everyone, sometimes differly as life changes us. Art speaks.
Amazing mueseum! You can get lost for hours here. Lots of beautiful art and descriptions, and totally free. Highly recommend.
If you love to read, analyze, and have a micopic mind like mine, then it will take more than one visit.
Beautiful grounds, gardens, restaurants, and boutiques!
Beautiful. Peaceful. Amazing.
You need a whole day to see most of it.
Even if you don't look at any art, the tram up is an experience all by itself. The archecture is beautiful and views of LA just as beautiful. The garden and the lawns are worth a stroll-through and maybe a picnic. During the summer, there are nights of live music or dj with dancing. Those are my favorite!
I loved this museum. It was very expansive and had many beautiful pieces of art, as well as a garden. I would highly recommend considering the admission is free!
Amazingly beautiful location and so many things to do! Can't believe most of them are free. From the beautiful garden to the art exhibits, had a great time!
My 1st time at The Getty & and absolutely LOVED IT!!! With a family of 5 we were looking for cheap attractions while waiting for my husband's departure at Union Station and we we shocked that it was FREE!! We parked across the street for $15 and spent hours here. It's SO BEAUTIFUL!! The garden was breathtaking & I adore the peacefulness alluded here. We would be going back in a couple of weeks for the Michelangelo exhibit. I highly recommend a visit!!!
Love this place:ART EXPOSITION is amazing, beautiful garden...one of my best place to visit!
Great views of LA and the coast. The architectural and garden tours are very enjoyable.
Well laid out and easy to navigate. Plenty of helpful guides to assist you.
Wonderful first visit! Will return every time I'm in SoCal!
Easy to see the special exhibit, the Caves of Dunhuang. No waiting Parking was available
