Thou, we didn't view everything at The Getty my family enjoyed it. Definitely a must for family and it even had this cute seek and find activity for kids that my daughter participated in. It is truly beautiful and an adventure for my kids. Thank you for reading my review.

Extravagant museum. Sign up for the architecture tour while there. Great Monets and Rembrandts. It's a once in a lifetime experience to see the details of Rembrandt's fierce accuracy in his paintings - up close! Definitely worth a visit, even if there's traffic.

This is a great place for European art since the early Greek civilizations. They have exhibitions which are fantastic and themselves often the size of normal museums you can find in LA. Furthermore their rose garden has an impressive variety of vibrant plants

I was very surprised with this experience. Although parking was 15 dollars or something like that l, almost everything in the museum was free. They gave free self guided tours with headphones and they gave free guided tours. The artwork was extrordinary and the history of the artwork was interesting to learn.

You pay NO FEE for your visit exept for $10 parking fee. Very nice place for people who want to explore different aspects of arts. From the ancient times to present. It's very educational and you will need at least
3-4 days to visit different museums there... It's amazing. I really recommend it to you.

The Getty Centre is a campus where you find the Getty Museum, sculpture gardens and other art related programs and exhibitions in Los Angeles. Opening hours are 10am to 5.30pm daily with extended hours to 9pm in Saturdays. Note that the Centre is closed on Mondays.

Note that entrance to the Centre is free. However, parking at the $20 per vehicle ($15 after 3pm). There is a tram you ride from the Getty parking garage to the Centre. This is an interesting aspect of your visit to the Getty.

First and foremost, there is a world-class collection of fine art that can be viewed at the Getty Museum. The artworks were the personal holdings of the late J. Paul Getty which are on display here as well as at the Getty Villa. The collection includes pre-20th century European artworks by numerous Old Masters. You'll also find American and international artworks, photographs and numerous contemporary sculptures found within the museum buildings as well as outside in the gardens.

In addition to viewing art, the various small gardens that are found with the Getty Centre are very attractive. Given the hillside location of the Getty, views of Los Angeles are outstanding as well.

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the Getty is its architecture. Uniquely created by American artist and architect, Richard Meier, the Getty buildings and gardens are modern and sleek in design. Constructed of 16,000 tons of beige-coloured travertine stone from Italy, the craftsmanship on display is superb. No doubting that the Getty is a masterpiece of late 20th century of architecture.

Visitors will find expected gift shops, restaurant and cafes and a rotating serious of temporary exhibitions complementing the art and sculpture works on permanent display in the museum.

Overall, we had a nice time at the Getty, spending 3.5 hours at the Centre. There is quite a bit to do/see here and we appreciated the modern, beautiful and accessible feel of the Getty, making it a good place to visit for art lovers and novices alike. We would gladly return to the Getty during future visits to LA.

One of my favorite places on earth. It's FREE! All you have to pay for is parking and it's by car, not by persons. In addition to a vast collection of fine art, there is educational fun for all ages, lush magical gardens, picnic areas, and live music. The food is very pricey, but you can pack your own lunch. The Getty and Getty Villa are the best day trips in Los Angeles. I visit as often as I can.

Super cool place. I thought it was pretty romantic. It also has beautiful views. The place is pretty big so try to wear shoes you feel comfortable walking. It has many levels and different buildings. While I saw many people with kids on strollers I don't think its very kid friendly. They do have a kids section and even a cool arsty store. The Getty village is on a different area and you have to make an appointment to visit it.

Nice place to visit for family especially during summer time. Not too expensive, cool breeze, art and garden for children to play. It's the first place we think of when deciding where to go on the weekend.

A 'free' museum that charges $15 to park (more cost effective to go in a group, as you're not charged per person). From the parking garage, you take the tram up the mountain and are deposited on a campus overlooking LA. Divine architecture. Several buildings of art collections, each could be its own legitimate museum.

The only negative is all the obnoxious school kids. Teachers, if you're reading this, please stop taking your classes up here as an excuse for you to get away from your job that you hate for a day. Just because you don't want to be a teacher anymore doesn't mean I want to be a babysitter.

It will take you more than one day to see everything, so plan your visit accordingly. Bring your own lunch and enjoy some of the seating on the many patios and terraces with spectacular views. Skip the orientation film and get a self-guided 'audio tour' and also go for one of the guided tours, especially the architectural or garden tours.
