Smooth ride up to the museum with a gorgeous view. The architecture and size is breathtaking, definitely bring some good shoes to walk in. Food is at a pretty fair price for LA and tastes great. All the exhibits are full of interesting information and is very well kept.

The best $15 (per car) you can spend in SoCal! An absolute must see. Allow yourself lots of time as there is so much to see. There are art exhibits that will interest everyone. They have a beautiful food court in addition to small cafes that serve fresh food from all over the world. They have vegetarian and vegan options and the food is very reasonably priced. I cannot wait to go back to the Getty!

Beautiful art they have some of the best collections I've seen. I'm impressed by it the artist display is that they have. Unimpressed by the amount of sculptures he have but the paintings are magnificent. I also enjoy the tours and questions and answers that they have. It seems like the tour guide is an informative no. Some of the people has dumb questions but I guess maybe it's just crowd that I was in

One of my favorite art museums in the world. It's located on a hill top so the view is amazing. You park on the ground and take a mini train to the museum. It's a huge museum so be prepared to walk.

The parking fills up fast on weekends, so you'll have to get there early. There are places to eat, grab a drink or you can take your own lunch and sit on the lawn area. It's filled with views from every area you look.

Getty Museum is one of the cultural highlights of LA. You pay $15 for parking (no additional fee) and you can enjoy a world class museum with all its benefits. Paintings, sculpture, pictures, etc. from the best of the bests. Guided tours are available or you can just go around discovering the place for yourself (don't forget to pick up an audio guide in the lobby). Plus the gardens and the beautiful view....

This is one of the best museums in the country and definitely the best on the west coast. The collection is vast and the curation of this museum is incredible. I love how the paintings are put under natural light. While LA has so many sites which becon the tourists this should be on the top of the list.

Beautiful place with amazing view over all of LA, from Hollywood to the ocean. The gardens alone are worth the price of parking. The exhibits are well laid out and interesting. Pack a non-alcoholic picnic and have a lovely cultural afternoon!

Always a beautiful place to visit and escape work related stress/city chaos for a relaxing moment. Everytime my friend or family come to visit me in LA, I have to take them to this place. The parking at the Getty costs about $10-20/car depending on the time you arrival- the later you arrive in the day, the cheaper it becomes. Other than that, everything else is pretty much free, unless you wanna shop for art souvenirs or art books

I could spend weeks here. Room after room is hours worth of review. Some of these pieces deserve an entire days attention. The central garden is a masterpiece of design. This is a place of delight and wonder, worth visiting as many times as you are able.

Wow! I took my 13 year old daughter here & expected her to be bored. But she was as thrilled as I was. From the parking garage, you take a tram the mile up the hill to the museum. Once you exit the tram, you are nearly blinded by the white marble that the museum & grounds are constructed from. It feels very much like walking into the Acropolis in Athens. One day is not enough to see everything. Each building houses amazing exhibits. But the grounds are what my daughter & I were most fascinated with. From a trickling fountain that starts at the top level, the water flows down the hillside into various gorgeous fountains on each level until it cascades as a waterfall into the pond in the central garden. In the center of the pond is a living sculpture made of plants. Open grass areas lead down to fantasy-like tree sculptures which overlook the central garden & pond with unending views of Los Angeles. My daughter & I felt as if we had walked into Lewis Carroll s Alice In Wonderland. There are maze-like garden paths that surround the pond & around every corner is a new beautiful, breathtaking scene. And the central garden is always changing. New plants are constantly added & the garden changes with the seasons.

Classic exposition of the world's most famous artwork and sculpture. Not to mention the stunning architecture or the gardens surrounding the museum. All at the perfect price, free! This summer was pretty neat too because active duty military get free parking, so it was 100% free in my case. Otherwise it's only $20 per car which isn't too bad if you go with a group.

The views are amazing. The site itself has beautiful architecture and stories within it- uncover them with a free tour. Also, the art is exquisite. At the moment the photograph exhibits are my favorite- check out the Noir exhibit of lithographs.

Tip: You can bring your own food in if you want to save some money.

Incredible art focuses mostly on European paintings from the middle ages through the impressionists. Rotating exhibits and some contemporary pieces as well. The Getty Villa near Malibu contains most of the statues and sculptures, but there are some great bronze and marble works here as well. One of Monet's cathedrals is among my favorites of all time.

Additionally, the museum is free, there are coffee carts, a restaurant, and arguably the best view of West Los Angeles possible.

A good venue for art. Pleasant architecture and a small garden with great views all around from downtown to the ocean provide a nice setting for the melange of art in this collection. Be sure to catch the furniture from 16th-17th century and the couple of good impressionist paintings along with temporary exhibits. The current illuminated manuscript exhibit is interesting so be sure to stop by for a look at ancient religious texts.

Free museum with beautiful artwork. You can ask for a head set player to listen to information about the artwork. I loved every minute of my experience at the Getty. I will definitely go back. Overall great experience!

Amazing place to visit, even if you never step inside the buildings and just enjoy the gardens and the views. Though you should step inside the buildings because the art is awesome

You can not go wrong by coming here for a visit. I still remember when it first opened (the excitement still lingers within me)...and, when I was living down in LA, I used to frequent this museum almost monthly. The LA view is absolutely breath-taking from here. Their garden is neatly manicured and simply a dream to walk through. They offer evening events (like poetry readings, concerts, etc.) to keep the locals constantly engaged and entertained. And, their cafe tries to cater to everyone's food preferences...

Great atmosphere. Casual cafe most of the day or fine dining experience before 2pm. I keep a list of what galleries I visited so when I return, my visit becomes almost like my first visit. Staff members are curteous.

The restaurant inside is a bit expensive for the quality of food served. But this is a great location if you love art and want to explore some works of history. The gardens and architecture are also worth the trip. You do have to pay for parking.

This was my second time visiting the Getty. This place never ceases to amaze me. The artwork is absolutely spectacular. I could spend all day in this museum and get lost in the paintings. The staff is extremely friendly and extremely helpful. The weather was beautiful, cool, crisp, and slightly breezy. The cafeteria is a bit pricey but they have great service and pretty good food. This has become one of my favorite spots to hang out.

Hmm... it is "free" to get in, but they charge you $15 for parking, $10 after 3PM - noting they close at 5PM. I can only give you advice on being part of the "after 3PM crowd", as we arrived at 4PM . Only had a short available time slot in between business meetings & a follow-up business dinner later that evening so decided to give it a good try. I enjoyed viewing the portraits from the 1500's as they are a snapshot looking back in time. Also found the wooden dresser crafted in the same timeframe to be considered something very rare to have survived the centuries - and extremely detailed in it construction. Somehow I don't expect my bedroom dresser to be around in 2500. My recommendation? If after 3PM ... save your $10 and come back some other time with $5 more and spend the whole day . I hope to do that during a future visit back to LA. I will get you another review from that perspective if & when I do.

Can't say enough about this place. Great for families, kids, adults, grandparents, friends. Overall awesome experience, the set collection is remarkable, I especially enjoyed the glass art, art depicting stories in the bible, and other religious paintings. The iPods for learning are a great idea. Going back for sure.
