The Getty Centre in L A is free to visit apart from the relatively cheap car parking fee. You are shuttled from the car parking areas to the main entrance then your on your own, jusr walk everywhere you want take in the external views and explore the many picture galleries and free exhibitions on offer. There are a few outlets to get and buy food from snacks to sit down restaurants. Lots of public amenities available. Amazing place go visit.

The amazing collection of historical art is rivaled only by the architectural splendor of this place. Plan to spend a whole day if you want to see everything, and wear comfortable walking shoes. If you need to take a break the grounds are a peaceful and beautiful place to take a picnic.

Spectacular day. The art, the views of the city, the garden, all just a feast for the eyes. We caught the Caravaggio exhibit, and the palatial rooms. The only knock is the food at the cafe, awful. The fancy restaurant is so great, not sure what happened one floor down. Don t go on a holiday weekend unless you get there early

Visited here and did not enjoy the experience. While looking at the art, they were very rude and will tell you not to touch anything. Well i did not even attempt to touch anything. Will not even take my grands there.

Simply amazing architecture and art. This is a place that can't be appreciated in a single visit so I'm going to have to go back some day (which unfortunately is a long trip from Sydney, Australia).

What really is there to say about one of the best museums in the country? A collection of prestige, a dedication to education, and a fantastic structure with beautiful gardens on a hillside setting overlooking Santa Monica, the Pacific Ocean, and the rest of Los Angeles... A masterpiece unto itself.

An amazing place to go for artworks, a very nice garden and also a very nice place to look at the nice view of LA. The architecture of this museum is amazing, very modern, and the natural lighting in the interior of the museum works very well: it lets light in very naturally and fully. A nice place to bring kids and educate them about art and the city of LA. There is no charge to enter the museum, but parking is about $15. It's also fun taking the tram from the parking up to the actual museum. Overall, a very nice place to go for great art and great views.

When my friends said "let's go to the Getty", I thought it would just be a boring art museum showing some strange art, that only West Coasters looked at and pretended to get. However that was all washed away the instant I stepped into the tram and was whisked up the mountain to survey the vast city below. Split out among multiple buildings, and across multiple genres the art on display is a guaranteed conversation piece. Even if all the art on the walls were stripped away, the Getty would still be worth the trip - the views of the city are breathtaking and the scenery within the Getty are stunning.

A note for drivers, the Getty charges for parking ($15), but doesn't charge for admission, so take an uber to save a few bucks

I had a wonderful time at the Getty Museum this past weekend. It's a lovely place to spend the afternoon in Los Angeles. My particular favorite portion was the garden area. Even with the crowds it provided a tranquil atmosphere. I'm also impressed with the food they have available. There is a restaurant that takes reservations, a cafe, and a food cart. As for the artwork, The Getty has a lovely collection of pieces from all over the world. I'm particularly interested in decorative arts and artifacts and also found the illuminated manuscripts fun to explore. Make sure to save several hours of your day for a trip to the Getty. It's a lot of fun.

The museums were free, parking is only $15, be prepared for a crazy long wait to get in and out of the parking garage, maybe a half hour if it's not too busy that day, but if you go with that in mind it's well worth the wait. My whole family spent 2.5 hours there and we all found something to rave about.

Beautiful buildings in a beatiful surrounding make the high quality art displayed very enjoyable and pleasant with little sense of crowding inside the expo rooms. The outdoors gardens are spectacular. A must considering you only pay for parking

The best free of cost, experience Los Angeles has to offer. With exception of parking, but you can take the "734 Sepulved Expo Line" red bus, which has a stop at the Museum's doorstep. Take the train up, which is a nice ride and free. Get cultured, take in the garden, and after an enriching experience you retake the 734 Metro pulbic bus, and take it to it's final destination, which is the Santa Monica Expo rail. And you can go to the beach, for a fraction of the cost you'll spend on say Disneyland. They have Renoir's, Bouguereau's, van Gogh's and many more. Bring the family, it's a gem of a day when you enter the Getty's doors.

Very nice museum. Clean, modern, and very well maintained. Looked at the gold exhibits about the ancient history and was very interesting. Parking is inexpensive and definitely worth it. Also a plus they allow you to bring food inside. They are constantly improving and adding galleries so highly recommend going.

Art museum with a great view of LA. They have a nice garden area with beautiful flower tree. Best part is it is free and open to the public. Currently they have Romanian sculptures on display from a museum in Santa Barbara.

It's a wonderful museum, in gorgeous surroundings. Whether you go to see a particular exhibit, or to see the excellent permanent collection of european painting and, objects dating from the Middle Ages through the 19th century (old friends I call them). However, since a lot of people are talking about the food, it's God-bloody-awful.

I love The Getty. I've been coming here every few years since I was a kid.

The great thing about this museum is that you can look artwork up online to see if it's available for viewing or if it's in storage for the moment. There's nothing more depressing than driving up there to discover that the painting you wanted to see is not currently on view.

My favorite area is the furniture and tapestry area. It's a lovely reminder that the civilization has forsaken craftsmanship and beauty in the name of a quick buck.

To see beautiful "Irises" or a Monet for just $15 is astounding and the revolving exhibits mean something new each visit. If you truly love and appreciate art, this is a steal.

One of the best art museums and pieces of architecture I've ever visited. I thoroughly recommend - do not miss it out if you are visiting. There is no entry fee bar the parking price and its a great spot for lunch. Excellent views and I do recommend the tours - they are knowledgable and fun!

A must for any Californian living in the area. The view is lovely and depending on the exhibit they're showcasing it's a nice place to explore. Hopefully the traffic dies down soon since they're doing construction around the 405 freeway. Highly recommend taking a date or the family here.

Breath taking! Hats off to the wonderful people who work there! They just make the whole place come alive with the answers and knowledge they contribute to the experience, so by all means don't be afraid to ask for stories and the background information on as much as you can take in. You will want to come back time and time again! We went at sunset and the views before we even stepped into the buildings were heavenly!
