Worth visiting. Free except parking, good views of LA and nice environment. Has several famous paintings
My son and I saw the Book of Beasts. It was a fascinating intersection of art and the history of science
Nice place to look cute for rare paintings and sculptures.
What a treasure! World class artwork, from earliest time to most recent. Pay only to park, admission is otherwise free. You must visit!
This museum is one of the best in southern California. The architecture is brilliant and the pieces it houses are well versed.
Stylish, classy, aesthetically brilliant this is a must visit place when in LA. Perched on top of the hill gives you a brilliant view of the city.
The museum boasts of a mind blowing collection of art.
Took my mom for mothers day. Absolutely beautiful way to look at history through art.
The Art work is amazing. The museum of self is a piece of art.
Incredible collection of art matched only by the views. And it's free!
Amazing place!
Entrance and transportation from the parking lot is for free. It is so nice to climb the hill with the train.
Guided tours every 30 minutes and for free, too.
Go there, enjoy the view, the art and the peaceful silence in the park:)
My honey & I had a great visit here! I wish there were more frequent trams.
Oh.... Wow.... Such an amazing venue and the photo exhibits were fantastic
Great date spot with stunning outdoor views and garden. On a clear day the view expands PV. Oh by the way there is a museum too...
It's free but parking isn't cheap... it's a great place for a date or to take kids if you're into that sort of thing
Wonderful facility with unreasonably nice staff. Amazing exhibits and was awesome getting to see a good number of famous works in the flesh.
Amazing place definitely everyone needs to check it out if they are visiting Los Angeles, Some of the finest collection they have , I can visit couple of times and still not get tired of Getty.
Very nice museum, and they have wide range of arts. And the museum is spacious give you a relaxing feeling, even better mood to enjoy the art.
And as it's on the top of the hill, they have a great view from outdoor
How can you go wrong with a premier collection of renesance art that you get to look at for free. Parking is easy (it costs) and the tram up the hill is lovely.
Awesome place to visit, amazing view of the city, amazing art and sculpture. Must see.
Do yourself a solid and go here if you re in LA! Such a good experience and this is a must must see! It is so beautiful here and the place is so big, you can even spend a whole day here! So many picture spots also.
Even though there are many people visiting the Center feels open and not crowded. Take the tram up but walk down if you'd like.
A fascinating collection of both old masters and newer pieces. Exhibitions rotate with some frequency, as well as some of the individual pieces. During a tour, a docent told me that some pieces are on exhibit for a time in exchange for the museum having done conservation work on that piece. The gardens are simply breathtaking, and the views of the LA area are hard to beat. Free admission to all. Parking is $15, but is $5 cheaper after 3 p.m. The Getty is probably the highest-quality cultural bargain in the state.
Wonderful place in any season and occasion. So much to see, explore, discover and enjoy. The food price has gone up, though. If you go with a family and kids, becomes pricey.
Good place to stop by. Terrific view from the top. Nice collections. Permanent exhibition is free. Special exhibition is paid.
Great collection of past years .unseen and unbelievably preserved and displayed. Its free to enter &Love it .
Great museum and the price is right (free) parking is $15 so take an uber, lyft or the metro. The tram to get up to the Getty itself is less than a 20 minute wait, which is about how long it takes to walk up hill, if that. This is a huge art museum with endless wonder. I recently took a private tour via third party group Museum Hack. There is a cafe, but they don't offer a wide variety if you get hungry (suggest bringing some of your own snacks) which you can eat in front or at any outside tables or benches. The cafe does have meals and wine or beer if your looking to indulge. Amazing views at every turn both in and out.
Excellent views outside, coastline and architecture, and inside art collection. A nice place for the pleasure of your mind and senses.
Beyond my wildest expectations. Easily one of the top places to visit in the world. A must visit for anyone in Los Angeles.
Great museum for all people. It's also a wonderful place to enjoy the beautiful overlook of Los Angeles city, especially at the dusk.
This was the best art museum I have ever been to. They had art by Monet, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, and even a drawing by DaVinci. Go early though, it tends to get a bit crowded. We arrived 10 minutes before opening and we were able to make it through most of the museum without any hassle. It's also very big and takes some time to get through. The architecture is also a highlight. It looks like it was built in the future.
The garden is breathtaking. A must see. The exhibits are incredible. I was able to see Galle's chandelier which was a beautiful sight to see; a chandelier that had a hot air balloon feel with griffins and astrological symbols all around it. And it has a fish bowl for goldfish. I explored two other exhibits and I suggest that if you're in Los Angeles, you really ought to go to the Getty and experience whichever exhibits are there and see the incredible garden. The views are pretty amazing as well and their restaurant (you need reservations) is wonderful.
Nice museum. Exhibit are wonderful. Modern architecture and really nice garder. Excellent place for family. No visitor fee. You only need to pay for parking. Nice panorama view of LA and Pacific ocean. Highly recommended.
One of the best art museums in the U.S. It's easy to get to via the 405, parking is simple, admission is free and the facilities are kept absolutely clean. The different collections onsite are phenomenal and the views of LA from the upper levels are some of the best in the city.
My go to for out of town guests. Never fails to cause wonder and awe.
One of the best museums in LA. Love the Nude Renaissance.
The Disneyland of art. U take a monorail up to the museum and from there on its amazing and it's free to go FREE
Beautiful building and gardens, you feel a little rushed to see it all.
Everytime I come here I fall completely in love with a new piece of art.
What a beautiful place! Great views of the city. No reservations needed, 15$ to park. I'm excited to go back again.
The Getty Center is not only a great museum with a fabulous collection, but also stands as a work of art on it's own. Stunning marble facade with a myriad of water falls and features coupled with beautiful quiet spaces and an incredible garden space. As with most museums, the food etc is pricey and are the items in the gift shops, but well worth a look in. This is one of my favorite places to visit in LA...from the little train ride up to the museum to all of the lovely features and stunning views of the city, the Getty stands as a quiet oasis in the middle of a metropolis.
Amazing works of art, with an equally amazing view.
Spacious and serene, visiting here feels relaxing and luxurious the whole time. It feels like you are both in the past and in the future. It's fun to explore the labyrinth of levels, terraces, stairways and wings. I spent all day here.
Majestic place. Great legacy of Getty Trust, legacy of art
Beautiful views and a fantastic facility. Will definitely be visiting next time I'm in LA
Awesome architecture and views. Great crowd control and shade on hot days. Go to the garden! It's the best!
One of my favorite museums!! A must-see when in the L.A. ara.
An LA icon on a picture perfect day.
A worthy experience and an interesting collection. While I didn t find the special exhibits in my wheel house, the overall esthetic and flow of the museum was easy to digest.
I pretended that I was the owner of the getting museum and villa I Presented this idea to everybody as if they were my personal guess I made sure they had as much fun as I did and after a small conversation with Most people in reference to my idea they to pretended they were the owners and afterwards I met some of them during lunch time and we all agreed we had so much Pretending to be gazillion for that day.
Never a dull visit. Gorgeous grounds, wonderful pieces of history, and helpful staff. I personally love the old furniture pieces! Why don't they make beds like that anymore?Parking is your admission charge too, can't beat it.
We chose to walk versus taking the tram. It was strenuous but worth it as the breeze and view was truly lovely. The whole campus is as beautiful as the art in the exhibits. Even the view from the roof garden was mesmerizing. The next time we visit Cali we plan to see the Getty again.
Enjoyed visiting here immensely. Need a return visit to see the museums I missed. Great spot.
A bit too much to take in. No curator to help you find your way around the museum. There were levels and buildings with other levels with exhibits and art that we didn't know if we had been there already or how to get over to. You take a tram to a long walkway that enters into a food court. Then there is scattered stuff all around. I like the architecture but the Villa was much better only because we were greeted by a curator who saw our confusion and directed us precisely where to go and was a pleasure in do it. Not at this one. Villa is better by far.
Amazing, unbelievable, incredible..... And its free!
Nice place to spend the afternoon.
Enjoyed visiting it and exceeded my expectations.
Loved that they had a free radio guide.
it's free and it has an amazing infrastructure for tourists.
Plan on spending hours looking at amazing historical sculptures and art. Great cafe here too.
BEAUTIFUL museum $15 for parking then an amazing little tram ride to the top of the hill! Breathtaking views, be warned. It is way too easy to spend an entire day in here
Very nice museum. Very Hot and sunny during the day.
Beautiful views of the whole city and Hollywood Hills!
Loved it! Architecture is beautiful, exhibits are approachable for all ages, and our 2yo loved the family room.
Very beautiful museum with wonderful view of Los Angeles
Really nice little museum. The Getty has a much smaller collection compared to something like The Met, but the location and the unique architecture kind of make up for it. Also, I got the impression, that have a lot of interesting temporary exhibits that they get on loan. Budget at least an extra 45 mins for parking and for the trolley to go from the parking garage to the center itself. Also, your parking pass covers both the Getty center and the Getty Villa if you can visit both on the same day
They have a free charging station with a lock so you can charge your phone and leave it while you go around the getty! The architecture is breathtaking!! The traffic to and from this place was absolutely horrible. I wish i can afford a helicopter to fly me around LA.
It s really okay...and you won t miss anything if you don t have time to visit. other than the exhibits, the parking lot and the tram service were not my favorite part. Lots of people and hard to even enjoy anything as the noise level is high (to me). Compared to V&A museum in London, the decorative furniture collection at Getty seems bigger and more interesting. Just shows how good Brits are at collecting lol . I would say this is not a must go if you are not a big fan of lining up and crowd or old furniture collection.
So cool to see awesome architecture. The art installations can't be beat for the price of parking. Will for sure recommend this to others. A must go to when you are in Los Angeles.
Massive and beautiful place. So many things to see and a great place to go and relax and have lunch. Put on your walking shoes!
I could spend days here. The garden is amazing, the views are breathtaking, the compound itself is a work of art. The special exhibits are changing every few months, so there is always something new to see when I visit. I will come here every time I come to LA; it's one of the cheapest things to do in the city and it's one of the best in my opinion. The museum itself is FREE, which is insane, and parking is $15, but come after 5 and it's only $10. Plus the sunset from the garden is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. Wear comfy shoes, because there is a LOT of ground to cover and you will want to see as much as you can.
What an amazing place. I spent two hours in one corner of one building.
